Suddenly, Summer

I envy the person in these pictures. She's enjoying

summer in the park on a Sunday afternoon in a floral dress and strappy heels.

She has no idea that four days of crappy weather are looming ahead.

Four days of constant drizzle and strong winds.

Of bad hair days and wet shoes.

Weather so crappy, it makes me refer to myself in the third person.

It's so easy to love a season that allows me to wear a lot of bling

but doesn't make me feel overdressed! Large earrings,

two necklaces, an LBD, a coat and heels don't count as overdressed to me.

Not when I think of all the bling and glitter eye shadow

I could have added to this outfit.

P.S.-We were headed for an engagement party when these photos were taken.

Still trying to be as brave as I was in this post, I perched my camera in front of our garage door and took a couple of snaps. However my success was mixed with some awkward moments:

Awkward moment #1:

When my neighbour stopped her car to chat with me. I hoped

she hadn't noticed me smiling at my camera only moments before.

Awkward moment #2:

That hope ended when a sudden wind rocked my tripod

making me leap to save my camera from toppling over.

A clarification:

For the record, when I mentioned eating too much chocolate in my last post, I meant exactly that and wasn't hinting at trying to loose or put on weight.

Promises, promises

I recall making a promise to myself when

I bought these coloured jeans that I wouldn't buy any more.

But I've also promised myself not to eat too much chocolate, buy more sunglasses or

blow my monthly budget in one week. And I didn't keep those promises.

So the possibility of sticking to this

promise was slim from the start!

Living on the edge

I finally got the courage to shoot some pictures in front of

our house. That's right. In full view of about ten other houses.

See how brave I am? Some folks go bungy jumping and others climb mountains to

test their courage. But I take pictures in front of my neighbours to show how brave I am.

And it only took me a year and a bit to get there!

No jacket required

For days that are too warm for a jacket but not warm enough to wear strappy dresses on their own, my button down

shirts are the best cover up.

This way I get to use my shirts over dresses and skirts and if I ever run out, I can always use my hubby's inexhaustible supply of shirts!

How's that for a master plan?

I knew I wasn't done with this pair of red trousers (last seen here)so I was waiting for a chance to wear it again. And what better way to remix red than to add more red?

My cat may or may not have looked strangely at me when she saw me in this.
I read on the Internet that cats (and dogs) can't see the colour red so I assume she wan't blinded by all the red I had on.
If it's on the Internet, it's 99% percent true, right?

Here's why I choose dresses and skirts that are black and white. Picking accessories for them is a no-brainer. I can choose a bag, baubles and shoes in the dark and still look sort of decent. And in case you're wondering, no, I didn't choose these accessories in the dark.

That was just a figure of speech!

Spring or Summer?

We had brief glimpses of Spring as seen in this post and this post.

But somehow the weather hasn't yet settled into it yet. We've been having temperatures of 10 degrees Celsius(50 degrees F) at night.

Doesn't sound like Spring, does it?

Someone has got to break it gently to the weather gods that with Summer just around the corner, Spring had better get here fast.
