Maxi Dress + Crop T-shirt

Here’s my look today. I’m going to a birthday party at the park, so I wanted to wear something free. I purchased this maxi dress from Planet Blue in Malibu, CA, a couple of years ago. The upper part is a blue tank and the skirt part is the silkiest silk. I love it. Wearing a crop tee I purchased from Urban Outfitters..just for a different look. The belt is vintage, and my clogs are by Jeffrey Campbell. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Denim on Denim

Yeah, I used to be really allergic to denim on denim, but now, I’m addicted. It’s another one of my “go to” styles. I have countless amount of denim shirts, and I won’t even mention how many pairs of jeans. Lol. So, this is like a uniform..almost.

Paired it up with a pink/gold pair of oxford miu miu. Enjoy..

Naomi Campbell D&G Limited Edition Tees

Naomi is celebrating her 25-year career with a line of Dolce & Gabbana limited edition t-shirts. The t-shirts were designed by famous designers and contain images of Naomi. They will be sold exclusively at Dolce & Gabbana boutiques when Naomi is in the store. Here are the event dates: New York (10th September 2010), London (21st September 2010), Milan (26th September 2010), Paris (4th October 2010) and Moscow (20th October 2010). There will also be events announced later for Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Proceeds from the sale of the shirts will benefit Fashion for Relief, a charity founded by Naomi Campbell. I want one!

Joe Francis Gets Engaged {GGW}

Just wanted to take a moment to admire this engagement ring. What the heck..it’s Friday, right? So, check this; Loree Rodkin has created a custom diamond engagement ring for Girls Gone Wild Founder Joe Francis’ fiancee Christina McLarty. Apparently, Loree Rodkin is a personal friend to Joe Francis, the Girls Gone Wild CEO. Christina McLarty is an entertainment news reporter for CBS in Los Angeles. She is the niece of Bill Clinton’s former White House chief of staff Mack McLarty.

Francis and Christina will marry at a 4-day celebration at Francis’ private estate in Punta Mita, Mexico in November. The 9 carat, custom diamond ring is set in a diamond pave band, with diamonds adorned around the stone and on the shank. The ring is valued at just under a half a million dollars.

Sequins Makes Me Happy – TGIF

Hi beautiful people. So glad it’s Friday! It was a tedious and trying week. I am definitely looking forward to the weekend. Since I have no rules on sequins, I tend to wear it during the day. It does a very good job of pumping my spirit and keeps me going. Here’s how I’m rocking it today. Very casual laid back look (and some added pictures of how I rocked the gold Michael Kors sequin blouse last week). I have been asked a bunch on Chictopia to create a page for myself. You got it. iPad Killer? – Hannspree Android Froyo 10.1-Inch Tablet

I’ve heard multiple claims in the past few weeks that the iPad won’t see any significant competition from the stable of purported iPad-killing Android tablets. But then Hannspree came along with this ridiculously spec’d gorgeous tablet which has everyone abuzz. Who knows whether it’ll come to fruition in 2010, but we can all hope.

This has the price point (~$500) and the talent to make many think twice before following the lemmings off of the Apple cliff…if it weren’t for that damn “HANNSPREE” logo on the bezel, everything would just be spanky about this beautiful tablet.

Borrowed Tunic

I woke up this morning sluggish and feeling like I needed to go shopping because I have no clothes..hahahaha..excuses, excuses. I wasn’t feeling any of my clothes, so I went into hubby’s closet to see if I could find a laid back shirt of his. I borrowed this tunic I made him. Well, it’s from my men’s collection here. Paired it up with True Religion shorts. I took one of my old pairs and cut into shorts. The bag, I got it from a street vendor in Nigeria, West Africa when I visited last Christmas. It’s so rich looking and the leather is just amazing. Enjoy..

African Roots In Fashion

I love how AFRICA has been such an inspiration for designers around the world. I have heard people say, “well, it’s about time, Fcuk..it took forever”. You know what, though? It’s OK. Let’s just celebrate it. Celebrate the colors, the fabrics, the beautiful designs, the artistry, and the exposure of Africa. Let us take it in and enjoy it. Ahhhh.. Bono & Ali Hewson Louis Vuitton Ad Campaign

WWD reports that Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, star in a new travel themed Louis Vuitton “Core Values” ad campaign. The couple wear items from their eco-friendly Edun ethical clothing line. LVMH purchased a 49% stake in Edun in 2009. The handbag featured in the campaign was co-designed by Edun and Louis Vuitton. Proceeds from the handbags will go to the TechnoServe and the Cotton Initiative charities.

The campaign marks the first time Bono has appeared in an ad without the rest of U2. The ad campaign was photographed by Annie Leibovitz.

Payless Shoe Source recently announced that the Isabel Toledo for Payless fall collection will launch September 7th at select Payless stores across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, countries in the Middle East, and Russia and at Payless.com. Prices for shoes in the collection will range from $35 to $60. It isn’t September 7th yet, but some of the items from the collection are already on sale here on Payless.com. One Shoulder Maxi Dress

This is what I wore yesterday for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party. She had such a fantastic time, and had two different outfits. This dress was a HIT at the party. I rocked it with a hat and a green vintage belt..just because I went back and forth between taking my hat off and keeping it on. Eventually, I settled with one and left it on..as you can see

PS- My friend, KemKemStudio, whom I have featured her designs a few times on here, sent me this dress from Nigeria, West Africa. The prints are absolutely gorgeous in person.

Miroslava Duma Pregnancy Style

Old School Cars – 1950 Ford Club Coupe

Stumbling across this fantastic old school ride at lunch was the veritable highlight of my day, yesterday. I snapped a few shots, and headed back to the office to find out the year and model. I was pretty sure it was a coupe, but hadn’t ever seen this smaller size, so I was a little stumped. Sure enough, it’s a Coupe—the 1950 Ford Club Coupe—a compact version of the more popular and well-known four-door Ford Coupe. The major distinguishing factors for the Club Coupe is that it’s a two-door, and smaller, but still with a big a roomy backseat.

For me, it’s perfect. I’ve always loved the body curves and lines of the Coupe, but have never been a fan of its might-as-well-be-a-boat size. I am adding this to my list of cars to own at some point in the future, shortly behind a 1968 Chevy Camaro SS (after selling my brother’s and my powder blue ’68 Camaro last year).

Vintage Always Wins

I’m a little sick today, but it doesn’t deter me from getting dolled up It’s Friday..no excuses. I got this dress about 5 yrs ago from a vintage store. I haven’t worn it in a while, so I decided to wear green to lift up my spirit. Green is my favorite color. The bag was also purchased years ago from a vintage store. The necklace was a gift from my then 8 year old son. He is now 12, but he bought this for me when he out shopping at the swap meet on Melrose and Fairfax. Yes, he has a pretty rad style Oh, the earrings are also from one of my favorite clients on Melrose/Fairfax. They are actually leather and pretty light.
