Vlisco’s fabrics, known for their expressive illustrations, has introduced the Hommage à L’Art collection. It pays tribute to Vlisco’s drawings in many ways, like being printed on the fabric in different techniques. The collection features a wide range of icons, feminine florals and hand-drawn abstract designs.

Vlisco collaborated with Maarten Spruyt, renowned fashion stylist, and photographer Koen Hauser to create the campaign. Check out & shop the new fabric collection here.

We’re not sure about you, but to us, 145 shoes in every color of the rainbow sounds like a dream come true!

That is exactly what Netherlands artist John Breed worked with in his art installation for German shoe salon Breuninger. In this exhibit, 145 legs protrude from the wall, wearing a multicolored multitude of styles – from flats, to wedges, to heels, and everything in between. See the fun photos below! Enjoy…x

‘Maddie On Things’ by Theron Humphrey

American photographer Theron Humphrey dropped everything, including quitting his job and decided to go on a year long cross-country road trip to work on a project he calls ‘This Wild Idea.’ But not before adopting his Coonhound, Maddie. Along the way, he was photographing Maddie everyday doing things like balancing on tree stumps to getting into anything he could fit in. Little did Humphrey know that this would turn into a published book titled, Maddie On Things: A Super Serious Project About Dogs and Physics.

Also, check out Humphrey’s Why We Rescue project. A story-telling documentary about how pets transform our lives for the better. Enjoy all of Maddie’s adventures!

The Landfill Harmonic Orchestra

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure! The locals of a slum in Paraguay have recently developed the “Landfill Harmonic Orchestra.” Pulling materials from the dump such as oil cans, tin pipes, bottle caps, and kitchen utensils, musical instruments are created. About 20 children ages 11-19 come together to play classical tunes, popular songs, and contemporary Latin music on the instruments.

Filmmaker Alejandra Nash is featuring Landfill Harmonic in her 2014 documentary, which will also be a commentary on environmental education and the dangers of inadequate waste management. Executive producer Rodolfo Madero puts it simply: “What these kids are showing us is that you shouldn’t throw away your things or people just because of the way they look. They represent the fact that not everything is disposable.”

Bent Objects by Terry Border

Indianapolis-area photographer Terry Border is a pretty creative guy. His Bent Objects blog is an ongoing project where he photographs a story involving ordinary household objects, often times with food, posed as characters. The characters are brought to life with a little bit of wire placed strategically.

Border recently signed a contract with Universal Publishing to turn the Bent Objects into wall calendars and greeting cards. He also has two book collections of the photographs, with a children’s book on the way. Considering this, he clearly has a lot of material out there, but below are some of our top favorites! Enjoy…x

Chanel Resort 2014 Collection

Traveling halfway around the world, Karl Lagerfeld’s resort collection was debuted in Singapore. The show opened with some classic Chanel staples paying homage to the thirties. Including mid calf dresses that were modernized with cut outs in the front.
