Hello? Is anyone still there? If you're still following along, thank you. It's been a while since my last post (though I've been active on Instagram) and my absence here was very intentional. I haven't felt motivated or inspired, and since this space is something I do truly enjoy, I thought a blogging break was needed in order to get back to producing content I want to post when I want. I even stopped reading other style blogs altogether because they were starting to melt into the same blog for me; every fashion blogger is wearing the same Valentino heels, carrying the same Celine bag, or even styling their homes in the same colour palette.

Needless to say, it was getting tiresome and with the lack of inspiration, styling, shooting and writing a post took a lot more effort and I didn't have the energy for it anymore. Now I'm back because I want to be. I'm committing to staying true to my own personal style and posting what I genuinely love. I hope you enjoy it and thanks, as always, for reading.

I decided to give the track pants trend a try and I have to say that I'm liking the look. When they're in classic black like this pair from Old Navy, it makes it easy to dress up or down. I love that they can take me from Zumba to cocktails just by switching shoes (I was wearing Converse Chucks with this exact outfit for brunch earlier in the day). Bonus points for comfort!

It's officially autumn and although I'm a little sad that summer is over, I am looking forward to the changing leaves, crisp air and pumpkin spice lattes. Dressing for this transitional season can be tricky, since the mornings are cool and by the afternoon I'm usually sweating through my layers. This breezy dress topped with a leather jacket has fixed my transitional-dressing woes so far. How do you dress for the fluctuating temperatures as the seasons change?

Happy Friday everyone! Here is the second outfit I styled with AMI Clubwear (see the first one here). Kimonos are a new favourite layering piece of mine (also styled one here). They're fantastic to throw on in place of a jacket or sweater because they're incredibly lightweight and I love their boho chic feel. Bonus: they make any outfit look effortless.

I've been on a self-imposed shopping "diet" since summer started. I'm making an effort to be more creative with wearing what is already in my closet (this outfit is proof), and keeping myself occupied with other things (like cooking) so that I'm not shopping. It's not to say that I don't buy anything. But the things I do buy are items I believe will stand the test of time and allow me to wear for years to come.

To say I love this dress is an understatement. There was a week where I wore it three times because it's the perfect breezy, flowy piece of clothing I want to wear in the heat of summer. I paired the dress with these Sam Edelman sandals I scored at Nordstrom Rack in downtown Seattle when I was there last week for Jay-Z and Beyonce's concert. The shoes were promptly broken in after dancing all night in them (and walking an hour after the concert trying to catch a cab back to the hotel - ouch!).

The moment I read Monika's post about the peony farm she visited, I knew I had to go. Eleanor and I made the trip out to Flowers From A Country Garden and were immediately in flower heaven. There were buckets of peonies in all shades and the hardest part was deciding what colour to take home. We shot these photos on the farm's beautiful grounds and I love the way they turned out. I'll definitely be back in the summer to pick up some sunflowers once they're in bloom.

When I posted a flat layout of this #ootd on Instagram it drummed up a lot of interest, which is why I decided it should become its own outfit post on the blog. I've been wearing a lot of HRH Collection clothing as of late because the pieces have an effortless flow and ease that I'm looking for as the weather gets warmer. The fact that it feels like I'm wearing pyjamas is an added bonus.

I've loved palm trees from the moment I first laid eyes on them and the infatuation has only grown over the years. My travel destinations almost always include a place where they grow abundantly so that I can revel in their tropical presence (and take lots of photos of them too). I never thought I'd be bold enough to wear head-to-toe neon, but this hot pink ASOS maxi dress ended up being the ideal piece to wear on the beach in Hawaii last month. It was so eye-catching that a woman came up to my family and I and insisted that she take family photos for us (she took over 20). If you're ever in need of someone to help take your picture, wearing a neon dress may do it without you even having to ask :)

The last time I wore Keds I was in elementary school and I still remember the smell of the canvas with each new pair that I broke in for the school year. When I saw these silver chevron sneakers, I knew it was time to break the Keds drought in my shoe wardrobe and add them to my collection. I love April. Not only is it my birth month, but it's also when new life is being breathed into nature. Every Spring I look forward to seeing the cherry blossom trees burst into fluffy pink and white flower clouds delicately suspended in the air from its branches.
