I've been wanting to wear this jacket for close to 4 months and I cant believe it had been hanging in my closet all along. In all fairness, winter wasn't really the perfect time to wear it and since I have the matching shorts as well, I really need some better weather to sport them out.

THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

I've been having a little bit of a rest in the past few days, the calm before the storm I would say, a good storm that is.

My life tends to go through periods where I am extremely busy and traveling all over the place, to few days of complete calmness. I guess I need some sort of balance between the two.

The past few weeks have been quite calm and they are about to turn upside down. In a few days I will be getting my travel chip back on, flying to Mexico to finish filming the TV series for E! and ELLE Mexico, not missing the chance to also spend some quality time with my beloved ones at the beach in between followed by other exciting trips. I will keep you posted!

Its amazing how I never used to pay too much attention to jewelry before and now its one of the things I am the most obsessed about. I am starting to collect beautiful timeless pieces which I wear literally every single day and probably will for a very long time.

Photo 2) The arrow bracelet with diamonds was a present from the Sweet Sofie Valkiers, the evil eye bracelet was an extremely lucky find at a small store at The Grove in Los Angeles and the small circular one right next to it was a sweet present my one of my Mexican readers Christianne. Then there's my beloved Hermes bracelet which was a very special birthday present last year.

Photo 3) Oh la la am I obsessed with this rubies band or what? This was a present from fellow Mexican blogger and designer Paola Van Der Hulst who recently started her own jewelry line. I chose the rubies because it is my birth stone as I am a summer baby from the month of July.

Photo 4) This snake ring with rubies eyes from momocreatura really took my breath away. Again, rubies are my birth stone so choosing was a no brainer for me, plus is small and discreet, just perfect.

Photo 5) And last but definitely not least, my gold feather from LeiVanKash which is actually supposed to be a pinky ring, but my fingers are too long and bony to fit it in my pinky, so the next finger will have to do.

Smiling is one of the most positive and powerful actions I can think of. It really makes you glow and makes people smile around you so I just knew it was what I wanted to have on my body forever, a reminder to always keep smiling and make the best out of every situation.

Ohhhh this blazer is definitely an oldie but a goodie. Well, its not old as such, I probably got it about 2 years ago and I am amazed I haven't worn it more often. The length and color are just perfect and so versatile to wear with everything.

FACING FEARS

Getting a tattoo is not everyones cup of tea. I remember the first time the thought of getting one occurred to me years ago, my mom was NOT impressed, I can tell you that. The thing is, I am terrified of needles so that was mental block #1, then I wasn't sure what I wanted to get and there was NO CHANCE I would permanently tattoo something in my body without being 100% certain of what I wanted.

As the years went by, my desire of getting one grew and I was finally narrowing it down. I finally have decided what I wanted, a word on the right side of my ribs and this word was so important and powerful to me that I was almost 100% convinced, but now I had to overcome mental block #1, my extreme fear of needles.

I have been lingering on this though for years and for the last few months it only grew stronger. Yesterday, I finally grew some .... and got it done, FINALLY!

The tattoo is something in my own hand writing and every time I look down at it and remember I have it on my body, it makes me so happy! So I guess it did the trick 100%.

Overcoming a fear is something so incredibly powerful and its not only the happiness of finally getting what I wanted on my body, but the fact that I was brave enough to go through with it.

I cant wait to show you!

ELLE MEXICO DISEÑA TOUR [ MONTERREY ]

I'm FINALLY able to share with you some behind the scenes while filming the ELLE Mexico Diseña TV series. It makes me so happy to share this experience with you, specially because some of you have been following my journey ever since I started the blog almost 6 years ago.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself to realize all the huge opportunities I've had in the past few years. I cant help but to feel incredibly grateful and excited to be able to do what I love and even beyond my expectations.

I never in a million years imagined I would end up on Television, let alone be in 2 different TV series in a matter of a year, specially for a network like E! Entertainment Television. It has happened and although the thought is very surreal, I am so freaking excited about it!

Cheesy but true, dreams can come true.

BIG DAY

Today is a very special day because the TV show I've been filming alongside Sara Galindo and Rolando Santana finally airs on E! at 9:00 pm tonight (Mexico Time).

On the show, we are searching for the next big Mexican Designer and we toured around the country auditioning extremely talented people. During the audition tour I laughed, I cried, I sat in shock, I was surprised, I was moved and I pretty much went through most emotions you can imagine so I cant wait to be able to see the auditions, but this time on TV as I was sitting on the panel of judges and its always interesting -and fun- to see things from the other perfective, the audience.

I am flying to Mexico again at the end of the month as we are filming the final of the show at the beginning of June.

Cant wait to be back in my homeland!

Hoy es un dia muy especial ya que el programa de televisión que estuve grabando junto a Sara Galindo y Rolando Santana sale al aire hoy en la noche por E! a las 9:00 pm (hora de Mexico).

Durante el tour de ELLE Mexico Diseña, viajamos al rededor de la republica Mexicana auducionando concursantes en búsqueda de nuevos talentos en el Diseño en Mexico. El viajar por mi pais, poder conocer a tanta gente y sobre todo, descubrir tanto talento fue una experiencia increible. Durante las audiciones lloré, me dieron ataques de risa, me sorprendí, me quede en shock y todas las emociones que se puedan imaginar, así que me muero de ganas de ver como se tradujo todo esto en la serie y por primera vez verlo no desde la mesa de los jueces, sino como audiencia.

No se pierdan el gran estreno hoy a las 9:00pm por E! Latino America :D

OPTIMISTIC

Someone once told me that being positive and optimistic attract good things to your life and I couldn't agree more. The key is to get into that mindset -and stay in it- for longer than an hour and I cant think of anything more effective to stay in it than smiling.
Painting a smile on your face is such a powerful thing to do, makes you and others around you happy, so lets try remind ourselves to smile a little more often :)

Hace muchos anos, alguien me dijo que el ser optimista y positivo atrae cosas buenas en la vida y estoy completamente de acuerdo. La clave es tratar de mantener esa mentalidad por mas de una hora y no puedo pensar en algo mas efectivo que el sonreír.
Pintar una sonrisa en el rostro es la mejor herramienta para poner de buen humor a los que están al rededor y lo mas importante, a ti mism@, así que hay que tratar de sonreír mas seguido :)

MUNICH

I just came back from Munich, where I had a very hectic but really fin weekend filming the TV commercial for Stylight, spent some quality time at the hotel Spa and even had few hours to spare before the airport to go find the Munich Surfers with Carrie.

I have spent quite a few hours in the past few weekends clearing out my closet and doing some sort of Spring clean out. What is interesting tho, is that most of the things I wanted to get rid of, I ended up wearing in the past few looks of the day, like this zebra T-shirt for example. I have this T-shirt since 2008 or 2009, I am not sure, all I know is that it was over exposed on the blog those years, I can assure you that. -here is a small flashback from 4 years ago-

Every time I do clean ups in my closet, this T-shirt ends up on the safe zone. I am not sure why but I just cant get rid of it...Do you have items like these in your closet? Those who which no matter how long its been, you keep wearing and wouldn't dare throwing away?

She has it and came with me to COS to find one for myself but all the good sizes were gone, so empty handed I left.

THE BAG INSIDE THE BAG

You should see the weight I carry inside my purse on any given day. If I ask someone to hold my bag for a few seconds the; Are you carrying stones? question always comes up. Well no, I am not carrying stones, but I do carry my phone, lipstick, keys, a mini bottle of my favorite perfume, glasses, sunglasses, headphones, make up and and and the list goes on....You know, because everything is essential (!?)

I always find it so difficult to find things inside my bag, everything gets mixed and tangled together so I came up with the -not so ground breaking- idea of putting the things in my bag inside another bag, if that makes any sense (?). Girls will be girls and boys, don't try to understand why we carry so much sh*# around, we do and we always will.

Feeling so freaking happy right now. I guess the Spring is hitting me pretty hard or maybe its because I am feeling so optimistic about the future and the great things about to come. Either way, I cant seem to wipe this silly grin off my face lately :D

This beautiful leather jacket was a custom made present by the amazing Mexican designer José Sánchez. I am obsessed with this jacket, not only because it was a very special present but also because Jose made me a matching skirt which you have probably seen on this post already <3

Me siento tan feliz últimamente. Supongo que la Primavera tendrá algo que ver, o tal vez me siento muy optimista sobre el futuro y todo lo que esta por venir en los próximos meses. De cualquier manera, no me puedo borrar la sonrisa últimamente :D

Esta chamarra de cuero fue un regalo muy especial del diseñador Mexicano José Sánchez. Estoy completamente enamorada no solo de la chamarra, sino de que Jose sorprendió todavía mas y me hizo la falda también. Seguramente algun@s la vieron en este post hace unas semanas <3

So these boots have been haunting my dreams for years, yeah, years, literally years. I was always going back and forth on whether I thought they were a little bit too much. Well, almost 4 years later I find myself loving the fact that they are in fact "too much".

These boots are the epitome of cool in my opinion. They are the kind of shoe that people either love or hate. I kinda freakin' love them to be honest.

At this point you might be wondering whats wrong with me? One day going bare legged and on the next post I'm wearing not one, but two coats? I must have lost my mind you suspect, well no, I am a little bit crazy, yes, but this time I blame the bipolar weather that came back to Amsterdam. So yeah, at this point I suspect we will have a bipolar Spring. Too bad.

Probablemente te estas preguntando si he perdido la razón (?). Un dia ando en fada y en el post siguiente no traigo una, sino dos chamarras pero no, no he enloquecido, al parecer el clima si. Hoy estábamos a 5 grados centígrados y ya no se si debería o no hacerme ilusiones de que la primavera llegara algún dia.
