You’ve seen the first Herve Leger dress that I tried, but did you see the second?

This dress in XXS is what made me a Herve Leger convert.

It hugs in all the right places and yet, I feel really comfortable in it. When I stepped out of the fitting room in this dress, I just felt…powerful?! It fit so snug that I thought I might have gotten a size too small that I asked the SA to bring me the XS for comparison.

In XS, this colorblocked dress fit my lower half well. But it was loose in the bust and midsection which created some awkward gaping that wasn’t very flattering. Also, the length is about an inch longer than the XXS size. I definitely didn’t feel as confident in this larger size, so the SA was right, XXS is my size in Herve Leger.

It is really rare that I encounter a dress that fits my body so well that I really want it! TMI, but I was wearing granny panties expecting VPL but the seams weren’t visible in XXS (but it did show a little in XS…not sure why) The way it feels against my skin, the thickness and sturdiness of the material…I know that there won’t be any wardrobe malfunctions in this dress and it keeps you “sucked in” even if you eat a lot.

With similar bodycon dresses from Bebe or Guess, although they “fit,” the material is so stretchy and thin that it’s more challenging to find the proper undergarments since the matieral is less forgiving.

Although I can’t afford Herve Leger, at least I know it fits and I look damn good in it. lol. Maybe when I win the lotto, I’ll get this dress, but until then, these photos will be a motivating reminder.

Blazers are having a moment.

This is my first “grown up” blazer and I’ve had it ever since my first internship interview. I don’t wear it as often because it feels more dressy than the ones I typically wear. But I like to switch it up every once in a while.

When it comes to blazers, I usually wear them with skinny pants like this. Sometimes, I pair it with a skirt and recently, I upgraded from this J.Crew velvet blazer to this Rebecca Taylor one. Plus, I donated this peplum blazer and this Zara one because the quality was lacking and I rarely wore them.

Quality over quantity right?

It was last August when I first encountered Boditecture.

Convertible clothing for the girl who wants to transform her look with one article of clothing. Such an ingenious concept that I’ve often wondered why designers don’t make more of these type of garments.

I went to the Boditecture Fashion Show a few weeks back and it was so fun!

From simple LBDs that change into formal gowns, or scarves that turn into tops, it was so creative! A swift change in the position of the hooks, magnets, and ribbons makes a world of difference.

Nicole Richie has gone from zero to hero, as far as fashion is concerned. Personally, I was never a huge fan of hers, but during recent years, she’s made quite the comeback.

She ditched her old sidekick (you know who I’m talking about) and lifestyle, got some better clothes, and seemingly has gotten her act into gear. But personal life aside, I’m going to highlight three of my favorite Nicole Richie street styles and show you how to get her looks for less.

Nicole pulls off the shorts-with-tights trend perfectly. This look is casual, yet dressy — I love how the black pieces contrast with the relaxed tee and shorts. And her bag! It pops so well against this otherwise neutral ensemble.

Once again, Nicole looks dressy, yet cozy — and uses red as her pop-of-color. I adore her elastic-banded skirt and tights — this look could easily be modified for the office with the addition of a black blazer.

I love how her oversized, fur coat looks on her petite frame. I found a similar, petite, faux-fur coat at Asos that would look great styled with a pair of skinny jeans and knee boots.

The Holy Grail of bandage dresses…Herve Leger.

As part of my New Year’s Resolution to be bold, I ventured into Herve Leger over the weekend. I was looking for a dress in 2+ colors or in a print. It had to be a fitted, mid-thigh cocktail dress  that would be body conscious and comfortable.

I was unsure of where to start or which dress to pick because there were so many choices. The SA selected her favorite, the Tess Jacquard-Print Dress in XXS, for me to try.

When I stepped into this dress, I knew it would be snug and asked the SA to help me with the last two inches of the zipper. The material is very thick with a little give, so it really conforms to your shape. Once I put it on, the bodice fit comfortably but the lower half was tighter than I would prefer due to my slight pear shape body. If I were to get separates, I’d be XXS on top and XS on bottom.

While I love the print and cut of the dress, the length was slightly too long and it make me feel very bottom heavy. A few inches shorter and it’d be closer to my requirements. So the search is still on! If you want to emphasize your hips, this would be a great choice.

What do you think of Herve Leger?

One of my most basic outfits is the jeans and a t-shirt pairing.

It’s one of the simplest looks you can wear and by adding other elements or accessories, you can easily take it from casual to dressy.

I received this lovely Beatles band tee from T-shirts.com and I seriously love it!

In Small, it skims my body well and it can easily be layered with a cardigan, sweater, or blazer. It has that super soft, broken-in feel to it as if it’s been a part of my closet for years.

One of my favorite ways to dress up a basic tee is to pair it with more formal elements like blazers or pumps. This muted rose color has been a recent obsession of mine and it goes so well with the gray tee, I couldn’t resist! It’s my pre-Valentine’s day rock outfit.

I’m always on the lookout for cool designers to follow.

Lately, my two faves are British shoe designer, Beatrix Ong, and Japanese clothing designer, Tsumori Chisato.

I’m not quite sure how I stumbled upon Beatrix Ong, but I am in love with her shoes! It’s sleek, modern, and oh-so-chic. She’s considered to be “The New “Choo” and I couldn’t agree more with her twist on classic silhouettes. I was able to snag the Vinci and I hope to show it off soon cuz it’s absolutely stunning!

As for Tsumori Chisato, I was hoping to find clothes that make me happy and they do just that. The whimsical prints, bright colors, and boho-style draping just call to me. It’s pretty rare to find a designer that infuses such cheerfulness into her clothing, but she makes it look absolutely natural and effortless!
