Faulty umbrella

Wish this did not break. I don't really think spring gear for kids is worthwhile, but umbrellas last more than a year. At least they usually do.

Cleaning up the toy room

My kids share a bedroom so that the other room can be a playroom. We spent some time cleaning it out. It had gotten so bad that I couldn't step inside without treading on something. I forgot to take a picture of the mess so there is no evidence of the clean up. We did recycle 3 piles of paper, took out 2 bags of garbage and tonight I'm left with these two toys to donate or giveaway. A doctor's play kit and a felt imagination toy.

Side Table drawer junk

I emptied out my side drawer, and I don't know what possessed me to keep these things around. Tossed out amongst other things, were four furniture markers for furniture that is no longer ours, broken hair clips, one single ugly earring, very old expired makeup and torn headbands.

Empty bottles

This one was easy. We host lots of parties. So, there are many empties as a result. I returned these bottles today and got $18 in return. But the best part is that I actually freed up some room. Excellent!

Coat Closet - Quick cleanout

I've a lot on my plate today, but took 5 minutes to sort out the coat closet, the kids' part of it. Two rain boots that no longer fit, an ill-fitting sandal, cute dress shoes(oops, hidden behind boots) and an old lunch bag that probably has to be thrown out because it is in such bad shape.

Organized Drawer

Yesterday I emptied out the drawer, today I organized it. I'll be honest and tell you that I was sorely tempted to go out and buy one of those gorgeous cutlery/drawer organizers. However, I looked for things around the house that I can use instead. So, some I used some containers (they previously held knick-knacks) to contain my make up, organized in a way that seem to make sense to my scattered morning brain. I found an unused tackle box meant to store beads (but never used). I removed the separators, and they contain my brushes. Being organized only works if it is usable. This is simple enough that I hope to be able to maintain it.

I cleared out the drawer in my bathroom. It was an embarrassing mess! I still need to find a good organization system, but I was glad that I did not really have to get rid of that much stuff. Better than I expected

Saving tarnished Jewellery

I couldn't wear this silver ring because it was so tarnished. A little toothpaste and a quick rinse under water did the trick to polish it up. The necklace is not silver, but I decided to try the same thing. Worked as well. Two items saved.

Reduce Clothing Clutter

Clothes that no longer fit. Torn clothing. Extremely faded and misshapen tops.
I separated these into two piles. One to donate. The other pile is to repair or refashion. Either way, something is out the door, and the wardrobe is a lot neater.

Hanging Up Scarves

Less of a jumble and i can see them all at one glance. I can take one off without everything else falling off. Less creased! The before pile was shameful. Will link to DIY scarf hanger soon.

Non-stick Green Pan

The non-stick Green Pan that only worked for a year. Taking up room so I have to toss it. Not very "green" at all. We have decided not to use non-stick pans anymore and just keep using out regular pans. Non-stick is over-rated.
