Peace and Dub - Die & Break ft MC Fats and Buggsy

2012-01-09T12:29:00.000+00:00

Captivating new video for this Die & Break track off the Grand Funk Hustle EP, which is forthcoming on Digitasl Soundboy.

It features Buggsy, an MC from the bristol scene, on a verse that manages to illuminate the difference, both lyrically and stylistically, between the "old-school" and "new-school" as he puts it,

It's Been a While...

2011-10-22T21:44:00.000+01:00

Sorry for the wait people, I've recently been without internet hence the lack of posting. But, the show must go on when there is great new music around.

So, very quickly, if you haven't wrapped your ears round these three beauties yet, what are you wasting time reading this for?

Katy B - Radio 1 Live Lounge

2011-08-17T16:55:00.000+01:00

Katy B stepped into the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge yesterday to perform two of her own tracks, as well as a cover of Maverick Sabre's recent hit Let Me Go.

And finally, Broken Record. This version definitely makes up for the original, which had otherwise become a rather annoying track, due to its deliberate but understandably, repetitive nature.

Subscape - Universal EP

2011-08-06T15:32:00.000+01:00

Due for release on Caspa's label, Dub Police, on 5th Sept.

The Universal EP by Subscape really shows how varied his production styles often are, whilst always staying within the ever growing boundaries of dubstep.

Of the five tracks on the EP, the greatest highlight is probably the electro-flavoured Square Albert. Sure thing to be a club floor-filler in the very near future.

Apple Candy is more along the lines of his 2010 track All Day, with its mellow, rolling beats and soothing female vocals.

Subscape - Apple Candy by Dub Police

Cadillac Jack is much more reminiscent of his tunes such as Screw Up...

Subscape & Ethic - Cadillac Jack by Dub Police

...and EP opener Turn Me On is a quality introduction to the world of Subscape if this is all new to you.

However it is, maybe surprisingly, the eponymous Universal that i feel has the least to offer here.

Artful - Could Just Be the Bassline

2011-08-03T11:41:00.001+01:00

Mark Hill found fame over a decade ago as the Artful Dodger, producing tracks such as Re-Rewind and Movin' Too Fast.

Now, he's back and soon to be dropping his new album under the simplified moniker, Artful.

His new track Could Just Be the Bassline, with Kal Lavelle on vocal duties, is simply amazing. One of those tunes that just gets better the more you listen.

Nero remix Calvin Harris + New Tunes from Skream & Benga's Radio 1 Show

2011-07-15T14:50:00.001+01:00

Three BIG dubstep tunes in this one...

Up first, just incase you somehow missed the insane amount of online posts about this tune a couple of hours ago, here is;

Nero's new remix of Calvin Harris's Feel so Close

The next two tracks both featured in Skream & Benga's monthly show on BBC Radio 1 last night (which you can listen to HERE for the next six days, if you're in the UK)

The first is a great remix by 12 Planet & Flinch, forthcoming on Skream's Disfigured Dubs label.

I feel this second track is going to be a club favourite very soon.

Introducing - Odjbox

2011-07-08T15:09:00.002+01:00

I've been rinsing tunes by this guy for a few months now and although his music is a bit removed from most of the stuff posted here, he just released his new EP a couple of hours ago and you lot should definitely give it a listen!

"Swing-Hop" or "Electro-Swing" seem to be how he's labelling his tunes, all i know is that he is producing positively catchy, rolling beats that i just can't get enough of!
I first heard of him through a (possibly true?) rumour that he is Flux Pavilion's flatmate, but it was tunes like Otto Croy and Golden ft. J5 & Haynes that kept me coming back to his soundcloud daily for more and more...

Golden Ft. J5 & Haynes by Odjbox

Otto Croy by Odjbox

Whenever he releases, he seems to give you the choice of how much you pay for his music, something i always respect, especially in soon-to-be-big producers.

Anyway check out and pick up the EP - Cotton to Fabric below.

Oh, and Odjbox, if you're reading this, get yourself up to Newcastle! I'm building your following up here at quite a rate ;)

&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;a href="http://odjbox.com/album/cotton-to-fabric-2"&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;Cotton To Fabric by Odjbox&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/a&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;

New music vids from Camo & Krooked and Caspa

2011-06-03T15:25:00.000+01:00

I am already unbelievably excited to see Camo & Krooked at Parklife, in Manchester, in just over a week's time. They have been churning out banger after banger for the last year or so and have responsible for some of my favourite dnb tunes released over that time.

To see that they have just released two great new videos, has only added to the growing anticipation to see them live.

First up, drum and bass track Breezeblock. It's all about the drop...

Next, Tron-esque video for their dubstep track All Fall Down ft. Shaz Sparks

And finally, here's Caspa's brand new video for his current single, Fulham 2 Waterloo...

Rusko - Asda 2

2011-04-16T21:43:00.002+01:00

Got a clip of the new Rusko track forthcoming on Mad Decent.

Skream and Benga dropped it for the first time on their Radio 1 show earlier in the week and I was pleased to hear some of the old Rusko style to it, check it out...

Skrillex & Korn - Get Up

2011-04-15T22:42:00.001+01:00

I tend to find Skrillex tracks are usually a bit "hit-or-miss" to be honest, but I'm loving this collaboration at the moment.

Slightly biased, I know, as i am a bit of a Korn fan, but when i saw "Skrillex & Korn" I really did think that it could work...

Personally, I think it has done, but i feel it may be one that divides opinion...

Alpines Remixes

2011-04-01T17:50:00.001+01:00

Having never heard of "Night-Pop" (their term, not ours) duo, Alpines, until this week, I was intrigued to see big names like Skream and Dark Sky on the remix for them.

Turns out, the female vocals on their debut EP Night Drive, released this week, are nothing short truly beautiful.
I can honestly only compare the feeling of hearing Alpines for the first time, to the first time i ever listened to Portishead. That feeling of, almost literally, being sucked into the track by the intensity and sheer elegance of the vocals.

You can preview and buy their debut EP Night Drive HERE or check out the three amazing remixes below, two of which come with FREE downloads...

Rusko - Everyday (Netsky Remix)

2011-03-23T12:39:00.002+00:00

Netsky's back again. This time he's armed with a with a MASSIVE remix for Rusko. At only 22 years old, this guy not only remixes for the biggest artists but also won 4 awards at this years Drum & Bass Arena Awards, including Best Breakthrough Producer.

The original Rusko track Everyday is relatively, pretty poor in comparison, but the single is out on April 5th and has the Netsky remix on it, as well as other remixes by DJ Q and Original Sin and also a release of last years Rusko and Reso collaboration, Lick the Lizard.
