How Subsystems Helps Our Warfighters

Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Center:

Subsystem Technologies, Inc. (Subsystems) and our subcontractor Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) have been awarded a multi-year contract with the US Army, Human Resources Command, Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Center (CMAOC). The CMAOC assists Army families in the time of bereavement. Subsystems and BAH provide training to standardize the Casualty Assistance Centers (CACs) operating procedures. The CACs employ Casualty Notification Officers (CNOs) and Casualty Assistance Officers (CAOs). The CNOs accompanied by chaplains perform the initial notification of next of kin following an Army soldier's death. Following that a CAO assists with funeral arrangements and initial benefits and entitlement paperwork. The standardized processes being developed and implemented by the team will ensure that best practices are used during this difficult process and will provide an innovative culture of continuous and measurable improvement.

Combat Related Compensation Program (CRSC)/Traumatic Servicemembers Group Life Insurance (TSGLI)

Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) with Subsystems Technologies, Inc. (Subsystems) as a subcontractor was awarded a multi-year contract to assist the Combat Related Compensation Program (CRSC)/Traumatic Servicemembers Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) in processing applications for army service members that may be eligible for compensation.

Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) provides military retirees a monthly compensation that replaces their VA disability offset. This means that qualified military retirees with 20 or more years? service that have combat related, VA-rated disability will no longer have their military retirement pay reduced by the amount of their VA disability compensation.
Instead they will receive both their full military retirement pay and their VA disability compensation. With the signing of NDAA 08, all military retirees are now eligible to apply for CRSC regardless of their years of service if their disabilities can be attributed to combat or training for combat. Over $1.58 billion has been awarded to eligible Veterans.

Traumatic Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) is a traumatic injury protection rider under Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (SGLI). This rider provides payment to any uniformed services member who sustains a traumatic injury that results in certain severe losses if they are covered by SGLI. Over $171 million has been awarded to eligible Soldiers.
