2 hours later, as I was leaving, the water was still bursting out of the fire hydrant.

I stopped a local water and power repair man to ask what was going on. He said there was 9 miles of water pipe that had to be cleaned. So they were running disinfectant through the pipes.

I asked why it took 2 hours. What he said next really surprised me. He said that to make sure that all 9 miles of pipe is clean he had to flood the pipes with about 2 MILLION gallons of water. WOW!

It got me to thinking about the tons of thoughts flowing through our minds. In fact, Dr. Deepak Chopra, author of Quantum Healing and other books, said We have between 60,000 and 80,000 thoughts per day. If it takes 2 million gallons of water to clean out just 9 miles of simple pipe then what does it take to disinfect our minds and free ourselves from the negative thoughts that create fear, sadness and frustration?

Now, if those pipes aren’t cleaned then they get clogged, slowdown and even stop working. It’s the same for your brain. This is why the Mental Mastery Videos were created. To clear your mind. Well, it was a blazing hot 92% so I enjoyed the light mist of water created from that fire hydrant flood.

I confess that this key is actually not too sexy but like the plumbing in your house it’s critical. And if you improve how you use this critical key you will get where you want to go much, much faster with less effort.

The critical key is decision making. Every decision you make moves you along life’s path. So before you reach a decision ask yourself

Will this decision bring me closer to the life I desire or will it move me farther away from what I truly want? Let the answer to this question be your stop sign. If the answer is ‘No’ then STOP moving in that direction.Because we make tons of decisions everyday, anyone who understands and exploits the above pivotal question can make progress fast.

In fact let me ask you… What decisions have you made today? WAIT… before you answer that question here is one more seldom considered but vital point…

Not all decisions are the same because… there are conscious and unconscious decisions.

In fact, most decisions are made UNCONSCIOUSLY. Unconscious decisions serve to keep your life on cruise control. Think of it. Do you put a ton of thought into how to dress yourself? Or how to drive to work? Or how to drive home? Of course not. It’s all cruise control.

It’s important to add that many unconscious decisions are painted over with a tiny bit of conscious thought. Just so your ego thinks it’s in control. But the truth is that most decisions are reached unconsciously.Here’s the problem with decisions reached unconsciously: Decisions made on cruise control (unconscious decisions) lock you into your comfort zone. They lock you into doing the same things at the same times at the same places. As long as you remain locked in your comfort zone you will NOT break through to the next level of success.

The worst part is that while you’re on the freeway of life your unconscious cruise control might be locked in at just 10 mph. Do you ever feel like life is passing you by? Do you ever feel like you’re moving at a snail’s pace? I know I do.

So if you’re not getting what you want from life then turn off the cruise control. If you want to perform at peak levels and speed up your drive to success then turn off the cruise control.Race car drivers don’t use cruise control. Fighter pilots don’t use cruise control. In fact, Jim Collins in his book ‘Good To Great’ said “Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline.”

If you want to a GREAT life then turn off unconscious cruise control and make GREAT CONSCIOUS DECISIONS!

Don’t get me wrong, cruise control has its place. If you’ve ALREADY achieved your desires then use cruise control. If you want to take a break then use cruise control. But when you want to reach the next level of success then turn off cruise control and consciously decide to take control of your life.

So how do you take conscious control of your decision making? Well, there’s not enough time to cover every way to do that but here are a couple of ways you can get started.First, it goes back to that key question stated at the top of this article. Get in the habit of HONESTLY asking yourself before making decisions…

Will this decision bring me closer to the life I desire
or will it move me farther away from what I truly want?

You can also decide to try new things. If you’re doing something you’ve never done before it’s hard for your unconscious to make decisions.

Decide to make bigger plan than ever.

Decide to read new materials.

Decide to go someplace new.

Decide to shake your life up.

In the cutting edge book “Mozart’s Brain and the Fighter Pilot” it says
“The choices we make throughout our lives also play a part in altering the fundamental nature of our brain. Our moment-to-moment actions sculpt the brain’s structure and functioning.”So making better choices and taking new actions actually sculpts your brain structure. That means you can make your brain faster and stronger.

Lastly, once you remove cruise control and take back your decision-making power use this advice from the legendary W. Clement Stone. In his book “the Success System” he said…“Good decisions must be followed through with action, Without action, a good decision becomes meaningless, for the desire itself can die through lack of an attempt to achieve its fulfillment.”

What is more important your hair or your mind?

The point is that, even though people say their ‘mind’ is more important, they spend time every single day caring for their hair but very little, if any, time caring for their mind. Yet when you go into the world it’s your mind that creates success or failure.

There are tons of folks who have great hair but lousy minds. Let’s be honest… that’s the truth.

And, frankly, there are people with crappy hair who have fantastic minds. Take Einstein for example. He’s not known for his hair care. But his mind changed the world.

Autosuggestion - Gold Medalist and Boxing champion Muhammad Ali said “I figured that if I said it enough, I would convince the world that I really was the greatest.” Mr. Ali knew the power of words. You don’t have to convince the world, as he did, but you do have to convince yourself to move beyond your comfort zone.

By injecting your mind with purely positive thoughts you clean away the negative cobwebs and increase your ability to perform at peak levels. In the book Think And Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill said “[With Autosuggestion] an individual may voluntarily feed his subconscious mind on thoughts of a creative nature,”

Having faith gives you the confidence to ‘really’ move forward, In spite of how things hard things may ‘look’. In spite of what the critics say you can continue. This is powerful yet it’s where most people stop.

But there’s a lesser known but possibly more important part to faith and your success. Napoleon Hill, in his book Think And Grow Rich identifies ‘Faith’ as the 2nd step to riches but even he fails to mention the second important point you’re about to hear.

Surprisingly, it’s perfectly illustrated by a reality TV show called ‘Cheaters’. If you’ve seen the show then you know it’s not too far from the crazy drama-filled Jerry Springer show.

In the Cheaters show, one person reports that they suspect that their mate is ‘cheating on them’. The Cheaters video spy team follows the potential cheater around. Invariably, the mate is cheating. And it leads to an explosive confrontation usually followed by hair-pulling a nasty street-fight.

The cheater is not FAITHFUL to the relationship and that undermines and destroys the relationship. So what has this got to do with your success?

Well, let me ask you…

If a cheaters video spy team followed you, would they find that your ACTIONS are NOT faithful to your vision of success? If so, then wouldn’t that prove that you’re undermining and destroying your own chances of success?

Few people consider this but it’s definitely worth serious consideration.

The legendary top-flight basketball player Michael Jordon said…

“The game is my wife. It demands loyalty and responsibility,
and it gives me back fulfillment and peace”

The key question is: are you cheating yourself out of success? Are you being unfaithful?

Unlike on the TV Show cheaters there’s no hair-pulling street fight if you cheat yourself out of success but the truth is that there’s an internal struggle that takes place everyday. And, based on the way some people really beat themselves up, it may as well be a street- fight. Unfortunately they don’t even realize it.

You can turn this around by thinking about what it takes to be faithful to your vision of success. Respect your vision. Fall in love with it. Give it the time it deserves and it’ll give you the success you desire.

So remember having faith is NOT the same as being faithful. By being faithful to your vision of success becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Be faithful to your vision of success… because you’ll never know when the ’success cheaters’ video spy team will show up to catch you!

Have You Suffered From ( One Or More ) Of These 3 Failure Points?

First. Has your mind ever gone blank when you needed it? Maybe at a job interview, when taking a test or when giving an important presentation?

It happens to everyone at one time or another. It’s an example of “thought failure”. You simply failed to think at the right time. When coaches scream at their players “get your head in the game” they’re trying to cure “thought failure”.

The amazing journey to mystic city PART II

In the first part of this story, our adventurous trio (Moe, Akshen and Flash) searched for Mystic city. If they reached it, they would be granted the life of their dreams.

They were delighted to find Mystic City. But it was on the other side of an old swinging bridge that was guarded by monks. The monks would only let them cross if the were tied hand-to-hand. The trio agreed.

They started across the bridge but a lightening storm and huge winds seemed to attack them and that’s when the wooden planks beneath Moe’s feet shattered. As Moe began to fall his friends grabbed him but they could not support his weight. That’s when…

“Akshen saw a yellow blur rushing towards her at breathtaking speed.”

As the yellow blur approached it became clear that there was, not one, but 3 monks leaping onto the bridge. They were skipping over the bridge’s wooden planks so skillfully that it appeared as though they were walking on water. It seemed impossible given the weakness of the bridge and the fact that the bridge was not moving the slightest bit… a moment later the 3 Monks were at her side.. in unison they effortlessly pulled Moe back onto the bridge.

Moe cried tears of joy. Akshen and Flash were dumbfounded because it took them 4 hours to get that far on the bridge but the Monks made it in just moments.

They asked the monks how they made so much progress in so little time.

One of the monks replied.

“Our efforts looked like magic but they weren’t.”

He continued.

“Each of you has incredible power. That power can be good or bad. Given your predicament, your power has been bad.”

“Consider the humble Caterpillar. Did you know that a caterpillar has 3 pairs of legs? The caterpillar’s legs move with one vision. The legs don’t selfishly care for just one part of the body. Each leg feels responsible for the entire body. So just a couple of caterpillar legs can support it’s entire body. It’s only accomplished because each caterpillar leg gives maximum strength.

More importantly, you can be more powerful than the caterpillar because you can add speed and momentum. And that’s precisely what we did.

One last tip. Some might laugh at the caterpillar’s simple brain. But it’s simplicity is its strength. The caterpillar does NOT doubt. It doesn’t beat itself up. It just does.

Here is a chant that will help you. As you begin again… repeat over and over
“sight, strength and speed aligned makes life a breeze!

Allow your mind and body to be consumed by these words as you move forward. And before you know it… you’ll be done.”

As quickly as they appeared the monks disappeared.

The trio started out… slowly.. with the intent of not only supporting their own efforts but being strong enough to support the others. With a shared vision.Seeing the Monks gave them faith. It shifted their focus from falling to reaching Mystic City.

Before long they were moving along. Finally they made it to the end of the bridge. As they celebrated the trio realized that just as the caterpillar changes into the butterfly, they too had changed. They celebrated in Mystic City.
