It is important to me that my website is able to display large, detailed images of my digitally compiled artwork, and with the liveBooks Scaler website, I feel comfortable that visitors will be seeing a closer approximation to the finished art. The lightbox and other website editing tools are a joy, and using a pre-existing liveBooks template allowed me to spend the time and money on my art, instead of website development.

Doug was born in Brooklyn, New York and received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. After spending 10 years in the magazine and ceramic screen printing industry, he was hired by a marketing company and worked in both corporate finance and product development. In 2007, he moved to Lansing, NY and began combining drawing, painting, photography, and computer processing to produce layered images, which have been shown locally in many galleries and juried exhibits. Last year Doug received fiscal sponsorship from the New York Foundation for the Arts for the Idea Enhancement Project, which explores the use of visual imagery to promote creative thought. 2011 marks the beginning of a period of more intuitive and dream driven artwork – building on the analytical pieces of the last several years.

When we started looking around for a new website design/designer, one of our criteria was that we wanted to maximize the image while minimizing the clutter. Being able to take livebooks’ nuts and bolts and work with a real designer to create a custom site was just what we wanted, and we’re thrilled with the results. Obviously, in our industry, a striking and well thought out website is paramount. I was initially drawn to liveBooks because of the customizable template idea. I wanted a site that was uniquely mine, but needed some parameters and didn’t want to have to think about coding, etc. My primary concerns were ease of use, elegant design, and uniqueness. I worked with my own designer to come up with the overall look and the liveBooks team took it from there to make it real. It was an easy and smooth process.

I recently upgraded to the Scaler version to get bigger images for those with larger monitors. Yet, those on laptops can still view a well proportioned site without scrolling. Some modifications to my original design were required, and the liveBooks team offered up plenty of options for me to choose from. Looks great, eh?

I have used liveBooks for my photography business website for several years, and have been extremely happy with everything about it. When it came time to develop a website for our coffee company, I knew liveBooks was the answer – convincing my partner was another story.
