This week's "Pretty & Thrifty Thursday" find comes from Pottery Barn. This pretty little vase is actually intended to be a candle-holder...
...but I am using it for my gorgeous pink roses (courtesy of the Husband on Valentine's Day).
It's a pretty & thrifty find at only $6.50 and the most gorgeous aqua-blue color for Spring! I don't see it available on-line yet, but I found mine in the store just this past week.

"Mini-mini-me's" Ice Cream Social party isn't for a few more weeks (thank goodness!), but today is her day to celebrate her birthday at school. In addition to the requisite sprinkled cupcakes and juice boxes, I also needed something cute to give out to the kiddies. I was super short on time yesterday, so I had to come up with something really simple and quick. So, I ran over to Michael's and picked up some pretty pink polka dot treat bags (from Martha's Valentine's Day line) and some whimsical pink and green glittery butterflies.
I filled the bags with Hershey's Kisses, pink M & M's and pastel candies - then added a butterfly and bow.
I think the whole project took about 20 minutes to make all 15 bags! Anyway, I'm pleased with how they turned out - a little girly perhaps, but I doubt the boys will object to the sweets inside!

Every Thursday I will be showing you a pretty little item for you or your home...and it will always cost under $10! I may be a big shopper, but I am also a major bargain hunter. I just love finding something fabulous for an even more fabulous price! I want the items I choose to be accessible to everyone, so I will try to stick with items from major shops and national chains. Today I will kick-off this new series by showing you these lovely bangles that I found at Forever 21...
A set of nine is just $1.80! Yes, you read that correctly - $1.80! Bangles are going to be really hot for Spring and these particular ones come in such a beautiful, soft pinky-bronze shade. See...pretty and thrifty!

So, I innocently walked into Staples yesterday. I was in search of some packing tape and had planned to be in and out of the store in under five minutes. But...there was a bit of a delay. You see, I had clearly forgotten that the new line of Martha Stewart office products had just arrived in stores! I will do a post on all the pretty files, notebooks, sticky notes, and labels sometime soon, but today I just had to share the "boxes". Pretty, textured, stack-able, Tiffany-blue boxes!
They were intended to hold office supplies, but instead of paper-clips, I immediately knew these babies were destined to corral my ever-growing collection of costume jewelry.
They are perfect for organizing my pretty bracelets, necklaces, and earrings...
A place for everything...
...and everything in it's place.
The boxes are reasonably-priced, come in a bunch of sizes and shapes (some with lids), and you can even order them online!

I found these lovely Hyacinth blooms at the farmer's market yesterday.
They are so pretty and romantic with their pink and lavender tones.
And they fill the whole house with the delicious scent of Spring.

I guess we just can't get enough sugar around here! These are some very simple and quick party favors that you can make inexpensively for almost any occasion. We made ours "pretty in pink" for Valentine's day...
To make some, you'll need some rock candy crystallized sugar sticks (I found mine at Party City, but most candy stores carry them in a rainbow of colors).
You'll also need "pretzel stick" bags (mine are from Wilton), coordinating ribbon (I used seam binding), and pretty millinery or favor flowers (shockingly, I used Forget-me-nots!).
Remove the unattractive printed-plastic bags that the sugar sticks are originally packaged in and slip them into the pretzel bags. Wind a small bunch of posies around the stick and secure with a ribbon bow. You will probably need to trim the bag to size. And there you go...
Super easy and so pretty!

Aren't they adorable! I was thinking of making some myself, but when I saw these from Meri Meri, I couldn't resist! I just love the tiny "sprinkle" beads and buttons and the pretty mint-colored envelopes!
