काल मुल्क बघितला.

'सिल्व्हेस्टर स्टॅलॉन' चा 'फर्स्ट ब्लड' सिनेमा सुरू व्हावा आणि संपेसंपेपर्यंत त्याचा 'सुनील शेट्टी' चा 'बलवान' मूवी बनावा तसं काहीसं झालं. एक सुंदर कन्सेप्ट, धाडसी प्रयत्न, तगड्या कलाकारांची पूर्ण फौज, सुंदर दिग्दर्शन एवढं असूनही जर चित्रपट शेवटी अपेक्षित उंची आणि परिणाम नं साधता एका
सर्वसाधारण चित्रपटाप्रमाणे 4 टाळीबाज वाक्ये फेकून संपण्यात धन्यता मानत असेल तर त्यात काय मजा राव. जे सत्य आहे ते काळजात भिनायला नको का? तसा परिणाम साधण्यासाठी थोडी अजून मेहनत न टाकता, शेवट असा का बरं गुंडाळलाय? अडीच तासांच्या मूवी मध्ये एवढ्या mature topic मध्ये नवं परखड सत्य आणायचं की जे माहीत आहे त्यावरच दात कोरून चित्रपट संपवायचा?

तसा मूवी वाईट नाही आहे, खरं तर प्रत्येकानं एक वेगळा मूवी म्हणून एकदा बघावा असाच आहे, पण ह्या कन्सेप्ट मध्ये अशी black friday सारखी अजरामर कलाकृती होण्याची ताकत असताना, असा साधासुधा चित्रपट काढणं म्हणजे अंबानींनी मुलीच्या लग्नात सर्वाना बोलवून त्यांची स्वहस्ते फक्त फदफदं-भात वाढून बोळवण केल्यासारखं नाही का होणार?

Casting, acting आणि direction चांगलंच आहे. पण उत्तमोत्तम कलाकार, बेस्ट कन्सेप्ट, आणि अखेरीस प्लॉट मात्र develop होताना एकदमच साधासुधा आणि अपरिणामकारक. कथेला, प्लॉट्स ना शून्य महत्व देऊन, सुंदर चित्रपटनिर्मितीची संधी अक्षरशः स्वहस्ते वाया घालवली आहे. का रे बाबा असं केलंस?

ऍमेझॉन चं आपल्या उंचीएवढं मोठं बर्थडे गिफ्ट यावं आणि मस्त चकचकीत wrapped बॉक्समध्ये बॉक्स काढता काढता अखेरीस 10 रुपयांचा नेलकटर निघावा तसं वाटलं

Acting सूंदर आहेच।
आशुतोष राणा चा अभिनय लाजवाब। तो पूर्ण मूवीत आशुतोष राणा आहे असं त्यानं भासुच दिलं नाही। एकदम वेगळं टोनिंग। मनोज पहावा ला पहिल्यांदा छान रोल मिळाला आणि त्यानं केला देखील मस्त। तापसी आणि ऋषी ला चांगला रोल दिलाय।

पण ऋषी कपूर ला acting साठी एवढे लांब लांब डायलॉग नाही दिले तरी चालतील हो, तो खूप ताकदवान ऍक्टर आहे। चेहर्यावरून बोलूंद्यात की त्याला।

रजत कपूर, नीना गुप्ता मागचे उधार चुकवायसाठी नुसतं add केलंय असं वाटलं। दोघाना काहीच स्कोप आणि screentime नाही आहे।

2:30 तास वातावरण निर्मिती केल्यानंतर खूप साधारण आणि अपेक्षित शेवट, क्लायमॅक्स ला काहीच वेगळं नसलेलं नाट्य. Judge चा अंतिम सामाजिक मेसेज खूपच अतिउथळ वाटला. ह्याच्यापेक्षा लोकं आजकाल whatsapp वर बरं लिहितात की.
थोडक्यात, कथेमध्ये प्लॉटस आणि घटनांची प्रचंड वानवा वाटली।

इनमिन 2-3 गोष्टीवरच मध्यन्तरानंतरचे कोर्टातले युक्तिवाद दाखवलेत।
पूर्ण सव्वा तासांच्या कोर्ट scenes मध्ये surprise elements नावालाच एखादं दुसरा असावा। बाकी फक्त उगाचच वारंवार भावनिक ओलावा । बरं मूवी इमोशनल म्हणावं तर background music खूपच साधारण वापरलंय। आणि तसे बरेच scenes जमलेतही, नाही असं नाही, पण नाईलाजाने अशा अल्पसंतुष्टी वृत्तीनेच ह्या चित्रपटाला सखोल आणि अप्रतिम कलाकृती होण्यापासून वंचित ठेवलंय

शेवटीशेवटी इतक्या आक्रस्ताळेपणे वकील बाजू मांडताना बघून चुकून दामिनी बघतोय की काय असा भास झाला।

शेवटचं प्रत्येक वकिलाचं आणि जजचं closing argument इतकं सपक आणि बुळबुळीत का दाखवलंय ते काही कळालं नाही।

इतकी heavy starcast घेऊन, इतका मस्त विषय निवडून असा सूंदररीत्या सुरू होणारा मूवी शेवटपर्यंत पोचता पोचता अतिसाधारण बनून गेलाय असं वाटलं.

अर्ध्या पानाच्या मूळ कथेवर पूर्ण अडीच तासाचा चित्रपट काढल्यासारखा वाटला। कथेचा जीव असावा शॉर्ट फिल्मचा आणि त्यात भावनिक प्रसंग टाकत टाकत अडीच तासांचा मूवी बनवण्यात काय मजा आहे राव? बहुतेक लेखकाला त्यांनी, 'बाबारे, ही घे concept. आम्ही जेवून येतो, तोपर्यंत ह्यावर छान कथा लिही', असं सांगितलं असावं.

दिग्गज फलंदाजांची आणि गोलंदाजांची फौज लावून आपण, झिम्बाब्वे विरुध्दची match अगदी मरत मरत एका रन ने जिंकली तर संधी वाया घालवल्याचं दुःख मानायचं की कसंबसं जिंकल्याचा आनंद???

फैज अहमद फैज हे एक सिद्धहस्त शायर होते. त्यांची एक एक ओळ एवढी अर्थपुर्ण असायची आणी शब्दांची निवड तर कल्पनेपलीकडील होती.

आज आपण त्यांची एक गझल वाचू. माझ्या खूप आवडत्या गझल्स पैकी ही एक आहे.

पहिल्यांदा आपण काही शब्दांचे अर्थ बघू आणी मग गझल वाचूया | उर्दू मध्ये बहुतेक वेळी शब्दार्थ हा आजू बाजूच्या अर्थावरून वेगळ रूप घेतो, त्यामुळं ह्या शब्दांचा वापर त्या वाक्याच्या अर्था प्रमाणे थोडाफार बदलतो.

1. शाम-ए-फिराक = evening of separation, विरहाची/एकटेपणाची सायंकाळ,

२. बज्म = सभा, पण इथे contextually बज्म-ए-खयाल चा अर्थ होईल, "प्रेयसीच्या विचारांच्या कल्लोळात"

३. हिज्र = ताटातुट, separation from beloved.

४. आखिर-ए-शब = end of night, twilight, period before morning, रात्रीची अखेर, इथे मुद्दामच पहाट हा शब्द वापरला नाही आहे कवीनं

५. सबा = a gentle breeze, मंद वाऱ्याची झुळूक

ह्या मधल्या एका एका कडव्यावर बरंच काही आपण बोलू शकतो, विचार करू शकतो अशी आहेत ही कडवी.

म्हणजे आता किती सुंदर लिहिलंय की,
"त्या विरहाच्या रात्री बद्दल काही विचारू नका, कशी आली आणी कशी सरली.
पुन्हा माझ मन उचंबळून आलं, पण पुन्हा एकदा ह्या जीवान मला थोडं सांभाळून घेतलं." थोडं माझं मराठी परिपूर्ण नाही म्हणून थोडं इंग्लिश चा आधार घेतो.
I think he is trying to say how the life find the means to go on, despite the disappointment.
पण जर विचार केला तर हे "संभल गया" देखील आभासीच आहे.

आता बज्म ह्या शब्दाचा अर्थ आहे गर्दी पण त्याचा वापर बघा. "बज्म-ए-खयाल में तेरे हुस्न की शम्मा जल गइ" बघा. अप्रतिम. रात्रभर तळमळत जो हा तिचा विचारांवर विचार करत राहिला तसतसं "हुस्न की शम्मा जल गइ". Beloved's beauty turned into a magical light. वाह.

पुढच्या वाक्यात तर "दर्द का चांद बुझ गया". कसं काय सुचू शकत हे, खरंच. just like the dawn casts out the illusion of painfuly night, this moon-of-pain faded away and the ended the painful night of separation.

आता हे कडवं बघू की दिल से तो हर मुआमला....
कवी किती निरागसपणे सांगतोय की तो त्याच्या मनातल कसं बोलू शकत नाही आहे. He ends up saying different thing and says something else in nervousness, when she appears in front of him.

अप्रतिम गझल!!!!

ही गझल बऱ्याच गायकांनी म्हणली आहे. आबिदा परवीन, फरीदा खानुम, बेगम अख्तर, गुलाम अली ,आणी ह्या सर्वांची ती आवडती देखील आहे.

आज आपण कतील शफाई यांची एक खूपच सुंदर गझल बघूया.

खूपच साधी, सरळ आहे, पण तेवढीच उत्कटही आहे.

बहादूर शहा झफर, ह्यांचा उदासी प्रकट करण्याचा अंदाज खूपच वेगळा आणी अतिशय भावणारा असायचा।

त्यांची एक गज़ल अशा विषयावर आहे की जिथे कवीचं बोलणंच स्तब्ध झालंय, त्यानें इतकी असहाययता कधीच अनुभवली नव्हती। ती देखील कशी वर्तवली आहे बघा।

ती शून्य शांतता, तो असहाय्यतेचा, बेकसीचा रंग, सगळं बोलणंच मुश्कील झालंय, हे असं तुझ्या सोबतीत कधीच अनुभवलं नव्हतं.

तुझ्या मैफिलीचा रंग आज काही वेगळा आहे. सखी तू आज अकारण नाराज आहेस. तुझ्याशी सारखं बोलत राहावं असं वाटणार्‍याला देखिल, आज सुरुवात कशी करावी ते उमजत नाही. (प्रियकर स्वत:लाच विचारतो), तुझं स्वास्थ्य कुणी हिरावलं, इतकी बेक़रारी तर तुला कधीच नव्हती.
आणि थोड्या एका दुसर्‍या अर्थानं, तीच त्याचं हृदय आहे...आणी तो प्रियतमेलाच म्हणतोयं की, ‘बेक़रारी तुझे `ए दिल' कभी ऐसी तो न थी’!

तुझ्या नज़रेच्या या (उदास करणार्‍या) जादूनं, काय झालंय तर स्वतः मी देखिल उदास (माइल) झालोयं.

माझा वेध घेणारी तुझी नज़र क़ातिल तर आहेच. आणि एका नज़रेत ती मला तुझा करते म्हणून, माझी वैरीणही आहे...पण आज तुझी नज़र इतकी कातिलाना झालीये, विकल झालीये, की... मला बोलणंच मुश्कील झालंय.

ही गज़ल कतील शफाई यांनी लिहिलेली आहे। खूप खूप वर्षांपूर्वी एक 'फर्माईश' नावाची magnasound ची वेगवेगळ्या गज़लच्या collection ची casette होती। त्यात ही गझल मी ऐकली होती.

ऐकायला खूपच गोड, अर्थपूर्ण आणि समजायला खूप सोपी अशी गज़ल आहे।

ही गझल खूप सोपी आहे आणि तितकीच भावपूर्ण.
ही गज़ल मी पहिल्यांदा cry for cry album मध्ये ऐकली होती, जगजीत सिंगजींच्या आवाजात.

Recommended Age group for readers: 3 to 7 years.

My daughter loves this book so much. Another great story from Eric Carle.

This chameleon think that he is living not so exciting life. Then he visits a zoo one day. And sees variety of animals and then dreams to become like them. As per his wish he starts getting body parts of different animals and the book starts taking us to a very funny journey.

It is going to be very enjoyable, you are going to listen lot of laughs everytime you tell this story to your kid.

Kids will surely find it hilarious to see how weird the chameleon looks every time he wanted to look more like another animal on each page.

It teaches to ‘Be yourself and be happy with who you are’ in a very brilliant manner.

Kids Books Review - From head to toe by Eric Carle

Recommended Age group for readers: 1 to 4 years.

This is a very interactive book. This book too is large and colourful. With this book lots of activities can be done. It is not one of those books to read during bedtime. I am sure kids wont like to sit while reading this book.

It goes very funny when kids start mimicking the activities done by animals.

On every page there is a different animal that is moving a different body part.

A perfect book to introduce all of the body parts of different animals that we too have.

I’d suggest while reading this book please interact with kids by imitating animals action of stomping, wiggling, bending, stretching and so on. Thereafter I’m sure kids will be reading it alone many a times.

This is another wonderful book from Eric Carle.

This is a story about a grouchy ladybug. It tells about, how she pick a fight with other animals no matter how large they are. Even little kids now how bullying happens. So they will enjoy when they find out consequences of bullying.

You’ll also know about what aphids are and why they like tree’s leaves. BTW, after reading this book I came to know what aphids are and that ladybug likes to eat aphids.

In the story, the grouchy ladybug refuses to share aphids with other friendly ladybug and keep on challenging the friendly ladybug. Every time she bully other animal, she surprisingly backs down saying “oh! You are not big enough” and picks up somebody else to put unnecessary fight with. She then meet up with a wasp, praying mantis, sparrow, lobster, skunk and lot many other animals.

Another thing is this book has a mini-clock in the corner of each page and talks about what the lady bug did at that time.

You can tell this story in hilarious manner to your kids too. Illustrations are beautiful.

Review of books from Mr. Shankar Patil

For past few months, I've once again started reading books. For few year, somehow I had stopped the reading.

Without taking much time, I'll start writing books that I've read recently, and how I felt about it.

Today I'll mention few words and my rating about the books, that I've read recently of Mr. Shankar Patil.

Valiv - वळीव (4.2/5)

Valiv is a simply amazing book. Everybody should read it at least once. Although all stories of Shankar Patil has a background of village and related lifestyles. Valiv goes more deeper and will touch your hearts. I remember we had a

lesson in 10th with the same 'valiv' name. I didn't understood the intent of the story then. Now when I read it from the book, I came to know, that to make the lesson short most important parts of the story were removed. Education

board seems to be very creative, in such things, I guess. But this is a must read for everybody. These are 5-6 paged stories but they are really very good.

Bandhara - बंधारा (3.8/5)

Good book. This doesn't contain entertaining stories though. Various serious rural stories with good picturization and characterization.

Aabhal - आभाळ (3.8/5)

This book is similar to Bandhara. Good book. Don't look for humour here. Various rural stories underlying emotions, values, poverty and the way people behave

Fhakkad Goshti - (4/5)

Interesting and funny stories. Don't miss it. It is very surprising to find how easily these stories gets evolved.

Tajmahalamadhye Sarpanch - ताजमहालमध्ये सरपंच (4/5)

Enjoyable and funny stories. Although they aren't that hilarious, but surely it will make you laugh few times, and bring a smile all the while, reading this book. Dialogues and characterization is perfect.

Patlanchi Chanchi - पाटलांची चंची - (2/5)

First of all, before reading this book, I didn't know this is an autobiography of Shankar Patil. Overall it is a decent autobiography to read. You can find how a small-village boy who is very emotionally attached to his family, friends and his pet animals gradually keeps moving on by overcoming day-to-day hurdles. Usually it happens in most autobiographies, that you don't get to see other side of the person. But not in this one. Shankar Patil have managed to stay away from portraiting himself as a poster boy.

Although there are few interesting stories weaving around Mr. Patil and their brought-up, but still this book fails to grabs the attention. Or may be I'm not a kind of autobiography reader. :-)

As we have gained sufficient understanding of what cloud computing is, let’s take a look at who’s offering what in cloud computing platform.

Google App Engine:
Google App Engine is a platform provided by google, for developing and hosting your apps in google’s data centers. It is built closely around Google OS. Its good for those developers who are familiar with Google OS and related framework. It is still in beta stage.

Amazon Web Services.
Offered by Amazon, these are collection of remote computing services. You can even deploy and run Microsoft applications here. It offers all components of a basic cloud computing infrastructure like compute, storage, database management and queue. This available commercially for everyone.

Personally, I have not deployed any solutions on these two platforms, so I will prefer to speak less about it.

Microsoft Windows Azure:
This is my favorite. Microsoft provides ‘Windows Azure’ as a cloud computing platform. Azure, is a platform for executing windows applications on cloud. It also stores data on cloud. Azure is an operating system that runs on machines in Microsoft data centers. The most important element for going with Azure is its integration with .net and Visual Studio. It supports any .net language and provides a tight integration with Visual Studio .net. You will get ready-to-use templates in your Visual Studio that helps you to develop and deploy cloud solutions. Following comparison might speed up, digesting ‘Cloud Computing’ concept.

Imagine, ‘Tata Motors’ has just launched a nation-wide ‘Car-Rental’ service. Assume that with that service, renting a car has become dirt cheap. And they are passing cost benefits, of their scale of operations, to consumers. Assume, it has become so cheap that people are giving second thought before buying a car.

The repercussions…?? Definitely, you will be more than happy. You are going to save money for every imaginable reason. You don’t have to buy the car. No worry of fixing accidental repairs. No more Parking Tickets. No worry of depreciation. No need to hire the driver. No need to spend money on maintenance of the car. No need to buy insurance. No worry of resale hassle, and its valuation. Pure joy of paying, by “per km”. How does it feel? No doubt. Comfortable. (Rather I’m feeling, that it is such a great idea, I should discuss it with Ratan, Anil or Mukesh) :-)

Fun apart. But if you just think aloud, ‘Cloud Computing’ might be beneficial in similar ways, in days to come. It will keep you away from the hassle of buying hardware and licenses before starting a new project. No more IT hardware / helpdesk-support personnel required. No more patch management. No more worries of hardware upgradation and license renewal with every passing year. No more depreciating assets. No more questions of what to do with the investment, once the project is over. No more worries of scaling up and out the infrastructure, after user increases. Just enjoying pure joy of ‘Pay per Transactions', while leaving all these worries to 'cloud vendor'.

Hope this comparison helps more, to understand ‘Cloud Computing’.

Cloud Computing. Concept behind it - (Azure - Part 3)

How many times you have deleted older files and folders, just to make space for new files and apps? What if you don’t have to do it from today onwards?

The concept of cloud computing is very simple. Imagine you are working with a very low end PC. For example, let’s say there’s no sufficient hard disk space. Even the processor, RAM and every other aspect of configuration is too basic. But you want to host your application that requires high memory, disk-space and bandwidth.

Here, the solution would be to connect your PC to internet. Connect to a super-computer, and host your application. Very simple. Isn’t it?

Taking it forward, this discussed, so called supercomputer, is nothing, but a vast network of machines, providing combined storage, memory and infrastructure. Lets see if this diagram will be able to explain it at high level.

It also takes its own backups at regular intervals and if one machine fails, another is swapped-in, without user knowing anything about it at all.

Cloud : What’s in it for me? - (Azure - Part 2)

First let’s see how it works, and then we'll see how it helps you.

Cloud involves the large number of computer servers and other resources as a group. These are made available, in the form of their combined capacity. Cloud computing users are either Publishers (those who deploys the application on cloud) or Consumers (those who accesses these applications).

Now you know how it works, so let’s see if these benefits interest you…
1. No Maintenance: No client-side application deployment or maintenance.
2. No Capital Investments: Initial IT investments involved in traditional hosting server-based solutions, are avoided.
3. Reduced upgrade costs: Over time, as technology progresses, existing resources become obsolete. In traditional on-premise hosting, we always need to upgrade hardware. In cloud computing, what you worry is paying only usage fees.
4. Ready to use: We can cut down time spent in setting up the initial hardware and software installations.
5. Scalability: Applications can now quickly scale up or scale down their usage of services as per market demands, during peak hours of activity.
6. Reduced operating Costs : Operating costs are reduced drastically, almost 6 times less. (I will write a separate post for this)
7. More Focus on real work: People now can worry about their actual business and writing applications around it rather than how to build and maintain infrastructure to support those apps.

The list is long, but for a time being, lets stick to simplicity.

Cloud what??? - (Azure - Part 1)

So, just now, you have mastered your preferred language, framework and technology. But before the dust settles down, you are hearing organization’s push towards ‘Cloud Computing’. Now what's this??? You must be wondering, whose need is it anyway? Is it just a new gimmick or simply another buzzword to nicely decorate your resume.

So, lets take couple of examples to understand why would somebody use cloud computing.
Scenario (1)
Lets say I'm launching a site that provides information, snaps and videos of ongoing 20-20 cricket matches. Now I have my web site up and ready. If I'm opting traditional hosting with some ISP, I have to provision for the hardware/software requirement considering the peak activity. This means when the matches are going on, around 50,000 user might be using the data for 24 hours, and it will also require very high in and out bandwidth. Suppose I invest, considering this peak activity, most of the time, this capacity will be unused. Especially, when there are no cricket matches or once the 20-20 series is over.

Scenario (2)
Take another example. Imagine, you are a developer, struck by an idea in the midnight, about a new wonderful application (ofcourse wonderful. Everything looks so, atleast in its inception phase). It is going to provide awsome facility to its users and you in return are going to reap good amount of profit. But the problem is how and how much would you invest in infrastructure. How much would it be sufficient? Are you going to buy server class machines on your own? What will you do with the infra later? Or what to do with all those machines if you don't get sufficient users?

So, imagine a cloud computing as a solution for this. Imagine there is somebody out there, in cloud, who is providing everything that you'll require, on rent. Now your application is able to handle the peak time activity. And on the other hand, you charged only for what you have use. just like the latest cellphone-plan's "1 paisa billing". Isn't that amazing? Taking everything on rent and paying only for what you require, dynamically. At this stage, we will see it is as means of "Paying only for the computing, storage, bandwidth that you have used".

Listening to Kumarji's nirguni bhajan's after understanding its meaning is real pleasure. Today I'll share with you the one that I was listening for many years and liked it from my heart. But when I understood its meaning today, I liked it even more and really got amazed. Kumarji singing Kabir's verse is heavenly experience.

मेहदीजींच्या निधनाची बातमी जीवाला चटका लावणारीच आहे.

त्यांची गझल कॉलेज मध्ये असताना पहिल्यांदा ऐकली. ती होती, 'मुहब्बत करने वाले कम न होंगे'. इतका अप्रतिम गोडवा असलेला आवाज, त्यांची गझल रंगवत गाण्याची अदा आणी रागांची निवड खरोखरीच वेड लावून गेली.
कॉलेज च्या काळापासून नेहमी त्यांच्या आणी गुलाम अलींच्याच गझल नेहमी ऐकत असायचो.
काल अचानक त्यांच्या नसण्याची बातमी आली अन् मनाला विषण्ण करून गेली.
देहानं जरी ते आपल्याला सोडून गेले असले तरी त्यांच्या गझल चा अमूल्य ठेवा ते आपल्यासाठी सोडून गेले आहेत, आता तोच ऐकत त्याची आठवण काढायची. बस्....

परंपरा - savani shende

ह्या शनिवारीच ठाण्यात, गडकरीत, 'परंपरा' हा शास्त्रीय संगीताचा कार्यक्रम झाला. सावनी शेंडे आणी रघुनंदन पळशीकर ह्यांचं शास्त्रीय आणी भक्तीसंगीत गायन होतं.
त्यामध्ये सावनी शेंडे यांचा तर एकदम अफलातून performance होता .
त्यांनी रागेश्री म्हणला आणी रघुनंदन पळशीकरांनी संपूर्ण मालकंस गायला. एकदम सही.
सावनींच्या साथीला 'सानिया किर्लोस्कर' (माझी पुतणी) होती.
classical बरोबरच सावनींचं कविता वाचन, गझल आणी भक्तीसंगीत म्हणजे तर खरोखरच ऐकणार्यांची ऐश होती.
त्यांनी 'सावनी' हा प्रकार देखील गायला. त्यामुळे हा weekend एकदम मस्त गेला.

नाटकं आणी पुस्तकं

ह्या blog वर post करून २ वर्ष तरी नक्कीच झाली असतील. जुई झाल्यापासून घरी अजिबातच वेळ मिळाला नाही. पण आता पुन्हा एकदा पोस्ट्स टाकण्याचं ठरवलं तरी आहे.

अलीकडेच २ सुंदर नाटकं बघेतली. प्रत्येकानं आवर्जुन पाहावीत अशी नाटकं आहेत ही.

१) फायनल ड्राफ्ट : एका लेखकाच्या ढासळलेल्या लिखाणावर जरी हे आधारीत असलं तरी थोडंफार आज काल आपण ज्या शैलीनं कामं करतो, त्यामुळ हे सर्वानाच लागू असावं असं मला वाटतंय.
२) काटकोन त्रिकोण: म्हाताऱ्या माणसाची मनस्थिती आणी त्यांचा दृष्टीकोन एकदम हसत खेळत सांगता सांगता सिरीयस विचार करायला लावणारं नाटक आहे.

सध्या एक पुस्तक वाचायला घेतलंय:
चिंता : लेखक : डॉ. प्रदीप पाटकर
एकदम सुरेख पुस्तक आहे. छोटया छोटया गोष्टींची काळजी करत आपण नकळत कसं स्वतःचं आयुष्य वाया घालवतो त्यावर आहे.

आज एवढंच पुरे. असंच अधून मधून post करत नाही.

How much Rs.500/- can buy you these days? Sure, we all know, not even the grocery for a week. But surprisingly you can start a well-reputed business, with that.

Unbelievable. Isn't it?

Yes. Only with Rs.500/- and without any knowledge, you can become ‘AMFI Certified Mutual Fund Agent’. All you have to do is fill up a form with couple of photos and give a very simplistic exam (that too objective). The questions asked in this exam are ridiculously simple. Anybody who knows how to read/write English can pass it after going through its preparation book.
So now, you are all set to advise people, where and how to invest their hard earned money. On top of it you’ll receive very attractive commission. And the best part is, no liability or risk will be passed to you. Scary!!! Isn’t it? Doctor, Engineers, CAs almost everybody needs be graduated from relevant stream. But the people from most important stream, ‘financial management’, can advice anybody recklessly without any knowledge of the subject matter.

He will definitely hide from you:

How expensive is this fund?
What is the brokerage cost?
What is the expense ratio?

Try to ask him questions like:

What is the profile of the fund manager and what’s his track record?
What is the performance record of the fund?
Compare that with the equivalent overall market and sector’s performance.
What are the risks associated with this fund? How are they different from other funds?
What is the fund size?
What is the fund’s cash management strategy? (i.e. how much % of funds they hold in cash?)

And if you think he is taking you for ride, switch him off.

Personally, I prefer, to see fund ratings from http://www.valueresearchonline.com/ and then decide where to invest.
