Cookies for the World's Greatest Dad!

2014-06-22T09:49:00.000-04:00

Last year for my dad's birthday/father's day celebration, I made him a collection of Seinfeld Cookies to honor our shared love for Jerry and the gang. This year I added a few more to the collection, because...yada yada yada...

My dad is a sweetie and in the shop that he has owned with my mom for the past 34 years they sell lots of candy! So for this batch, I made cookies to represent some of the classic sweets mentioned in Seinfeld episodes. Junior Mints (very refreshing) and Jujy fruits were included in my first set (check them out!), I just mention that so the true Seinfeldians don't think I have lost my mind by not including those jems here. :) Onward to the photos with quotes from the episodes they are in! I'm obsessed!

World's Greatest Dad shirt from The English Patient

"How 'bout that, huh? The World's Greatest Dad...The best in the world.

Which means I'm better than just number one"

Kramer's Giant Lollipop from The Betrayal

KRAMER: Hey, FDR wants me to drop dead.

GEORGE: FDR?

KRAMER: Yeah, Franklin Delano Romanowski.

I go to his birthday part, and just before he blew out his candles, he gives me this look..

GEORGE: Stink eye?

JERRY: Crook eye?

KRAMER: EVIL eye.

JERRY: Well, everybody's a little cranky on their birthday..

George's secret pass code word : Bosco from The Secret Code

Kramer: Oh, alright. Yeah. Uh, let's see. Um, well, we can throw out

birthdays immediately. That's too obvious. And no numbers for you, you're a

word man. Alright, let's go deeper. Uh, what kind of man are you? Well,

you're weak, spineless, a man of temptations, but what tempts you?

George: Huh?

Kramer: You're a portly fellow, a bit long in the waistband. So what's your

pleasure? Is it the salty snacks you crave? No no no no no, yours is a sweet

tooth.

George: Get out of here.

Kramer: Oh you may stray, but you'll always return to your dark master, the

cocoa bean.

George: I'm leaving.

Kramer (building up steam as George bolts for the door): No, and only the

purest syrup nectar can satisfy you!

George: I gotta go.

Kramer: If you could you'd guzzle it by the gallon! Ovaltine! Hershey's!

George: Shut up!

Kramer: Nestl's Quik!

George: Shut up!

Chunky from The Doodle

Elaine: I 've looked everywhere , even under the couch but all I could find were the stupid Chunky wrappers.

I couldn't....

Jerry: Wait a minute . Did you say chunky wrappers?

Elaine: Yeah!

Jerry: Let me see those. ( smells them) Oh! I know the chunky that left these Chunkies......NEWMAN!!!

I've got him.

Chuckles from The Heart Attack

DRIVER: (To Assistant) I didn't take your Chuckle, man!

ASSISTANT: I had five Chuckles. I ate a green one, and the yellow one, and the red one is missing!

DRIVER: I don't even like Chuckles!

JERRY: (To Assistant) Maybe he doesn't like them. That's possible.

GEORGE: My face! My face! Get me to the hospital!

ASSISTANT: I want that Chuckle! You hear me?!

JERRY: (To Assistant) I'll get you a Chuckle. You want me to get you a Chuckle?

Twix from The Dealership

GEORGE: It’s a Twix! They’re all Twix! It was a setup! A setup, I tell ya! And you’ve robbed it! You’ve all screwed me again! Now, gimme one! Gimme a Twix!

Oh Henry from The Caddy

"You know Sue Ellen Mishke? The heiress to the O'Henry candy bar fortune--"

Drake's Coffee Cake from The Suicide

JERRY: Gina, do you know what a Drake’s Coffee Cake is?

GINA: Of course, the plane cake with the sweet brown crumbs on the top.

JERRY: How much do they cost?

GINA: The junior?

GEORGE: No, no the full size.

JERRY: No, no the junior.

GEORGE: You didn’t say "junior".

Tweety Bird Pez Dispenser from The Pez Dispenser

ELAINE: No, no. It was an accident. It really wasn't my fault. It was Jerry.

Jerry put a Pez dispenser on my leg.

NOEL: You put a Pez dispenser on her leg during my recital?.

JERRY: I didn't know she would laugh.

So Happy Birthday and Happy Father's Day to My #1, World's Greatest Dad and fellow lover of all things Seinfeld! :)

Mother's Day Cookies

2014-05-11T17:24:00.002-04:00

This year both of my sisters are celebrating their first mother's day! I am lucky to be Auntie to two beautiful bouncing babies, and to have sweet loving sisters to care for them. Although Auntie Bridget did have to change a diaper, wipe spit up off her shoulder and have her hair pulled in many directions, it was a fun celebration of the new mothers. Of course we celebrated our supportive, lovely, enchanting mother as well. :)

For the mothers in my life, I made floral cookie sets to honor their beauty and strength.

We would be nothing without our mothers. Thank you, Mom for everything!

Happy Mother's Day!

Easter Cookies

2014-04-18T18:12:00.000-04:00

Bunnies, chicks, baby lambs... who am I to resist such cuteness?

I was so happy to make some Easter cookies for my dear friends. They had gifted me with some great new cookie cutters, including a large cupcake shape. It was just what I was in the market for. Salem psychic powers at work! Turns out the cupcake shape cutter makes a pretty cute Easter basket :)

No Easter set is complete without Easter eggs...

And a Bunny to love them

Happy Easter! Happy Spring!

Happy days ahead :)

Red Sox Cookies

2014-04-06T15:46:00.000-04:00

Spring is finally here! It is a time of sunshine, flowers in bloom, evening strolls with my sweetie, jackets (instead of monstrous bubble coats and layers of wool) and baseball. My fantasy baseball team is looking pretty awesome and I am determined to do better than 3rd place this season. The little home town team is looking good too. It is exciting to live in an area where people have so much passion for baseball. We love our Red Sox! To celebrate opening day at Fenway, I made some Red Sox cookies to share with my co-workers.

I used my brand new KopyKake projector (yay for birthday presents!) to help with the logos and the writing. It was awesome. I am generally proud of my free hand piping skills, but sometimes my writing tends to get squished at the end so it was super nice to have a guide. :)

Go Red Sox! Happy Spring!

פורים שמח!

Happy Purim! Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates a time when the Jews of Persia were saved from a plot to exterminate them. The story is described in the Book of Esther which is read on the holiday. It is a celebration filled with food, merriment, costumes, and the sending out of gifts. My Sweet Eddie and I had our own little Purim celebration. We ate lots of cookies, as we do.

Esther

Our beautiful Queen to the Persian King, Esther informed him of the plot against the Jews and persuaded him to spare them.
Thanks to Art by Dena for the inspiration

A crown for the Queen

Masks for the party

Hamantaschen

Triangular filled cookies are a traditional part of the celebration.

We made some filled with lemon curd and chocolate.

What is a party without a clown juggling cookies. I think he is cute while Eddie says creepy. :-/

And what do you do when your super hot husband realizes he is a master Challah bread baker?

You have him make you some every week and you take lots of photos. :)

Bread by Ed is amazing!

Happy Purim!

And They Called It Puppy Love

2014-02-09T08:46:00.000-05:00

My Sweet Eddie volunteers at our amazing local animal shelter, The Northeast Animal Shelter. The shelter is one of the largest non-profit, no-kill animal shelters in New England. They have placed a lot of sweet cats and dogs into forever homes. For a little token of appreciation, I made Valentine's cookies for the hardworking staff and volunteers. Not only are they filled with puppy love, but also kitten, older cat and older dog love too! All of the cats and dogs at the shelter deserve love and they get it from the amazing people at The Northeast Animal Shelter.

Sweet Eddie volunteers in the kennel. He cleans cages, walks dogs, and gives lots of love to all of the furry friends. He is an animal whisperer. Hopefully someday our cat Buffy will let us get a dog. She is in charge around here.

Puppy Love

Kitty Love

Thank you to all the people who work and volunteer at the shelter. And thank you to everyone who adopts cats and dogs from shelters!

You are sweet and I love you!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Ricky Gervais Cookies: Kindness is Magic

2014-01-29T12:39:00.000-05:00

I love Ricky Gervais. My husband is well aware of this, and he has accepted it. Ricky makes me laugh, cry, cringe and smile. I have seen him perform twice in New York and it was magical. I love all of his shows, podcasts, and articles. And of course, I love that he has given the world, Karl Pilkington. Oh, Karl. He has a head like a f*cking orange. He is a miserable, moaning, man child. I have listened to Ricky's podcast and audio book guides many times, but I still laugh and enjoy every moment of them. They really must be listened to by everyone. All people of earth should experience Karl Pilkington's mental commentary on life and hear Ricky's intense laughter.

Ricky has made some truly fantastic shows, like The Office, Extras (one of my all time favorites), an animated The Ricky Gervais Show, An Idiot Abroad, and recently, Derek. Derek, like some other shows by Ricky is a mockumentary style program. This show takes place in a nursing home. Ricky plays Derek, who is a sweet, kind, and unique volunteer worker at the home. The show is both funny, odd, and very touching. My beloved Karl Pilkington also plays a role as the always moaning and miserable caretaker. He is magnificent. Watch this show!

To celebrate Derek being released on Netflix in the UK, there is a contest on twitter to make fan art of the program. I couldn't resist making a few cookies of my favorite characters.

Best Friends

I have also wanted to make cookie versions of the animated series of The Ricky Gervais Show for a long time. I love it so. I hope to make more in the future with different scenes from the show. Karl's perfectly round head is hard to resist.

Damask Baby Shower Cookies

2014-01-28T10:56:00.000-05:00

As we know, I love making baby cookies. My onesie cookie cutter works out more than I do. This set was made to celebrate a baby girl shower. I played off the colors of the baby's turquoise bedroom and gray damask bedding. I also added in a light pink and white to complete this lovely palette.

I don't use a lot of tools that would make my cookie decorating easier. I dream about having a KopyKake projector, an airbrush, an abundance of stencils and a clean up crew. That would be amazing. I was determined to use the damask design on these cookies. Sweet Eddie and I visited several craft stores to find either a stencil or stamp to aid in my task. I even attempted to cut my own stencils, to no avail. On our third trip out, we eventually found a nice stencil set to work with. I added my own touches for the smaller details for a sweet and elegant batch of cookies for the celebration.

I am slightly obsessed with the sleeping baby face cookie. They are just so cute and peaceful.

And when they are paired up with the onesies... oy vey!

Shhhh, baby is sleeping.

Sweet cookies for sweet friends and the arrival of a sweet baby. :)

Happy Birthday, Mom

2014-01-12T09:55:00.000-05:00

My Mom shares a birthday with Elvis, David Bowie, Stephen Hawkins and many other lovely people. It is a special day and she is a special lady. She has a lot to celebrate this year with the arrival of two grandbabies! She is over the moon with happiness and has fallen perfectly into her role as Bubby.

To wish my mom a happy birthday, I made her some cupcakes and a fun little assortment of cookies that represent some things about her and what she likes.

Sweets for my Sweet Mom

Happy Birthday, Barbie! You are so beautiful and bright.

You are a lover of bacon, you could eat it day and night.

You have a little bird named Monty, who sings his song for you

And you are the best Bubby to not just one baby, but two!

So enjoy a birthday cupcake! It's a chocolate covered cherry treat.

Happy Happy Birthday, Mom, you are so loving, kind, and sweet!

Baby, it's cold outside!

2014-01-08T13:50:00.000-05:00

Even as the polar vortex winds its way back north, it is still in the single digit temperatures in these parts. It is winter in New England! When venturing outside, every inch of skin must be covered. I have a large puffy coat that we call big blue. I look like Violet Beauregarde, but it keeps me toasty. The frigid temps keep us inside mostly, but we have a nice view of snow piles in our parking lot, an abundance of fancy hot chocolate, and a new on demand movie channel to catch up on all the films we meant to watch. It is freezing outside but happy and warm in our home. A good way to keep our house warm is to constantly make cookies, which I am always up for. I am especially happy to make cookies for one of my first and dearest work friends as he, his wife, and their daughter welcome their new little one at the end of the month. Congratulations to the Lesser Family! I can't wait to meet their snow baby!

The baby's gender will be revealed when he/she is born, so I used the crisp, gender neutral colors of winter for these sweet baby shower cookies.

A Year in Review

2013-12-31T13:50:00.000-05:00

Another year in the recipe books!

2013 has been quite a year. It has been a year filled with extreme joy, intense grief, and everything in between. Sweet Eddie and I got married and it was wonderful. We happily became an Aunt and Uncle to both a beautiful niece and a handsome nephew. We devastatingly lost Eddie's loving, brave, funny, charming father. 2013 will be a year that we will never forget. I am so grateful to have had my Sweet Eddie by my side for every moment of it. I would be lost without him.

Throughout the year cookie art has been my therapy. It brings me great joy and some stress while it helps me to memorialize moments, celebrate holidays, learn about myself, and hopefully bring a smile to some one's face. On this final day of the year, I wanted to share images from my favorite posts this years. I loved these cookies for different reasons and maybe some of you did too. So here is to a year of cookie creations:

Animal Baby Shower

Candy Crush Saga

Lucky Leprechauns

Cookies for the Troops

And a special tribute to my Father-in-law

Our Sweet Wedding

Betty Boop

Seinfeld Cookies for my Dad

Under the Sea

Pet Rescue Saga

Hello Kitty Thanksgiving

Ugly Sweaters

As we roll into 2014, I wish for everyone a year of love, respect, appreciation, peace and joy.

If a cookie makes you happy, may your life be filled with all the cookies in the world.

Thank you for reading and supporting me.

Happy New Year!

Ugly Sweaters

2013-12-24T15:00:00.002-05:00

Happy Christmas Eve!
Recently, Sweet Eddie and I attended an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party held by some cool friends. Did you know that stores actually sell sweaters that they market as ugly? Some of them are pretty wacky. I like a good old fashioned Christmas sweater that is so loved by its owner that they don't even realize it is ugly.

Being of the Jewish persuasion, I don't own any Christmas sweaters nor was I going to shell out some dough for such a garment. Instead I made my own by attaching some hair bows that I made to a sweater of my own. It looked ugly to me!

In the spirit of making ugly sweaters, I also made some ugly sweater Christmas cookies to bring to the party. I had a lot of fun trying to make these cookies both ugly and cute.

These don't even compare to some of the awesome monstrosities at the party!

Santa Baby!

2013-12-21T09:37:00.001-05:00

It is a big year for babies in my family! Both of my sisters brought sweet little kiddos into the world. Baby Ezra was born just a few days ago and he is a cutie. It is so cool to have both a niece and a nephew now! Auntie Sugar Buff and Uncle Sweet Eddie feel very lucky. :)

Since I am obsessed with babies and my baby onesie cookie cutter, I was compelled to make a spin on Santa Baby Cookies.

Hello Kitty and Friends Holiday Cookies

2013-12-14T13:01:00.002-05:00

Well hello there, kitties! It's the holiday season and we sure are excited over here at Chateau Sugar Buff and Sweet Eddie! It is super cold today and there is a big storm headed in, so it is possible I have gone loopy with pre-cabin fever. Is that a thing? Despite my goofiness, I am happy and looking forward to the continuation of this holiday season, and all the beautiful and delicious holiday treats that I plan to make and enjoy.

Lately I feel that no holiday is complete without Hello Kitty! She is just so darn cute.

These kitties will be making a journey down south to my lovely Mother-in-law, along with some other cheerful holiday cookies.

Frosty, Elf, Santa, and Reindeer in Wreaths!

I used a super yummy mint chocolate chip cookie dough found here at Flour de Lis.

Mint, chocolate, smiling faces, and holiday cheer!

Happy Holidays! Be a good Kitty and eat more cookies!

Happy Thanksgiving!

2013-11-27T21:36:00.000-05:00

Is it really Thanksgiving tomorrow? Did we just light our first night of Hanukkah candles? Were we eating latkes while a pumpkin pie was baking in the oven? What is happening?!

I sure do love this wacky holiday season!

I made a few sets of Thanksgiving cookies to share with family, friends, and the internet.

A classic collection

More Turkeys

And what celebration is complete without Hello Kitty?

These Pilgrim Kittys come bearing delicious dishes for the holiday meal.

I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving full of appreciation, love, comfort, friendship and pie, lots of pie.

Thanks for looking and thanks for reading. I am thankful for the support of friends and strangers.

I am eternally thankful for my Sweet Eddie and all the love we share. I am thankful that he lets me take over our home with mountains of cookie decorating accessories, supplies, gadgets, and gizmos.

It's Thanksgivukkah, Baby!

2013-11-17T21:24:00.000-05:00

What happens when you combine the dreidel spinning, latke frying, miracle oil celebration of Hanukkah with the turkey stuffed, gravy slathered, family gathering of Thanksgiving?

This year Thanksgiving and Hanukkah will converge on November 28th to create the epic holiday hybrid of Thanksgivukkah. It is going to be quite the event! This holiday matchup won't occur for another 75,000+ years, so now is the time to embrace it. Since we live happily in baby land with our sweet little niece Daisy, I thought I would kick off my holiday cookies with a happy baby Thanksgivukkah. I will take any opportunity to use that onesie cookie cutter.

Take one Hanukkah Baby...

with a happy dreidel and gelt

Add a little Thanksgiving Baby...

with some sweet turkey buddies

And you get the giblet filled miracle: Thanksgivukkah Baby!

I know one little sweetie pie who is ready to celebrate.

Hooray for Thanksgivukkah! I am excited, are you?

Woodland Creature Cookies

2013-11-14T08:02:00.000-05:00

It has been very chilly around here the past couple of days. As I spent some time digging out hats, gloves and scarves from the mountain of random stuff in our front closet, I thought about the sweet little critters of the forrest. Naturally, I imagined them wearing hats and scarves to keep warm as the cold front moved through the woods.

Red fox keeps it sassy

Bird is such a hipster

Squirrel is just doing his thing

Baby Deer is always so cute

Raccoon is happy to keep toasty with the gang

It is entirely possible that the cold has gone to my brain.

Stay warm, my friends.

Happy Halloween!

2013-10-31T09:22:00.000-04:00

The day has arrived, we made it! It is the big night in Salem. Thousands of people will descend on our fair city to fill the streets with costumes, reverie, and excitement . It really is quite the event. Sweet Eddie and I have our costumes ready and we can't wait!

Welcome to the Witch City!

The Witches are ready to cast a spell

And Candy Corn is happy, can't you tell?

The Spiders in their webs are starting to crawl

While the Mummy is there to creep on us all.

The Pumpkin is carved and out on display

And the Bat is in flight and eager to play.

The moon glows brightly over a spooky tree

And Zombies are hungry to eat you and me!

As the Ghosties float by so tranquil and serene,

I wish you all a truly Happy Halloween!

Eddie Munster!

2013-10-30T10:41:00.000-04:00

We sure are having fun in Salem this season! Last night we visited Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery for a terrifying stroll through the haunted monster museum. I only screamed about a dozen times as my Sweet Eddie and I clutched sweaty hands and shuffled closely behind our brave friends.

After the screams and the chills, we got to meet the charming and friendly Butch Patrick who starred as Eddie Munster on "The Munsters." He still has that fantastic smile!

My Sweet Eddie was very excited because when he was a child he was often called "Eddie Munster." He was a bit of a hairy boy and still is. This picture just makes me so happy.

When I heard that we were going to this event, I just knew I had to make Butch some cookies. How could I resist? I did a title logo cookie and a portrait of "Eddie Munster."

"Eddie Munster" was and still is such a cutie, so I tried to do him justice.

Butch was so nice and he loved the cookies. I really appreciated him posing with me and them.

We look cool. :)

Happy Halloween!

Creature Features 2

2013-10-28T13:11:00.000-04:00

Halloween is only 3 days away! Pumpkins are carved, the Salem streets are jam packed with people in costume, an abundant bowl of peanut butter pumpkins are tormenting me, and my Sweet Eddie is making me watch scary movies. I will watch scary movies, but I will not like it. If I think too much about movies like Poltergeist or The Ring, which I watched ages ago, I still get freaked out. I will make Sweet Eddie walk me to the bathroom and turn on all the lights, check under the bed and in the closet... it is all perfectly normal for an adult woman.
The other night we watched The Conjuring. In my attempts to not be totally terrified and my hope to be able to sleep that night, I focused my attention away from the horror and onto the more amusing things like the music (yay Dead Man's Bones,) Ron Livingstone's complete lack of emotion, and Vera Farmiga's gorgeous ruffled collar dresses. It worked. I think Sweet Eddie was more scared than I was. He loves it though.

Last Halloween I made some classic movie monster cookies in Creature Features. This year I branched out to a variety of scary Halloween movies and other films that feature creepy characters.

Look into their eyes and face your fears!

Billy the Puppet - Saw

Pinhead - Hellraiser

Pennywise the Dancing Clown - It

Pale Man - Pan's Labyrinth

Dr. Hannibal Lecter - Silence of the Lambs

Chucky - Child's Play

Heidi - The Lords of Salem

Jason Vorhees - Friday the 13th

Freddy Krueger - A Nightmare on Elm Street

Captain Spaulding - House of 1000 Corpses

Turning a bunch of creeps into sugary treats makes them so much sweeter.

At least that is what I will tell myself, so I don't get scared.

Happy Halloween!

Cookies for Fall

2013-10-22T12:00:00.000-04:00

It's October in New England. The air is crisp, the trees are full of color, everything is pumpkin and each day here in Salem feels like Halloween. It is fantastic. Sweet Eddie and I love to take weekend strolls and fill our senses with everything our home has to offer. Last weekend we watched an old time baseball game, strolled through a park with some beautiful changing leaves, viewed an outdoor movie, and witnessed an amazing, full, orange moon beaming over the harbor. Happy days.

It is easy to find cookie inspiration this time of year.

A Sweet Eddie Celebration

2013-10-17T15:09:00.000-04:00

Yesterday was my Sweet Eddie's birthday. He is the love of my life and I am so happy to be his wife! Although we just had a private celebration at home, I wanted it to be extra special. I made cookies, cake, and pizza; got some balloons and decorations; and threw together a little costume. He deserved all that and more! He is my favorite person :)

I realized after, that I probably should have warned him about the costume. He opened the door and saw this:

We have fun!

Sweet Eddie loves October. He loves Halloween and pumpkin flavor everything. I made him a sweet little pumpkin cake with whipped cream cheese frosting and nutella filling. It was spooktacular.

For the cookies, he gave me a list of requests. I almost made all of them. One proved to be a bit of a challenge that I will save for another time. Ooh the mystery...

Most of his requests fit nicely into the spirit of the season and one was a childhood favorite. A couple are a little sassy.

Happy Birthday to my Sweet Eddie! I love you madly, deeply, eternally.

Daisies for Daisy

2013-10-16T08:42:00.000-04:00

Guess who is here?! The sweetest, cutest, most adorable little bundle of baby joy has entered our lives and made me a proud Auntie. Daisy was born on October 7th and she is perfect!

Oy, what a face! I love her!

My sister and brother-in-law are amazing. They have made a beautiful family. I just had to make them some daisy cookies to celebrate their little Daisy.

Welcome to the world, little Daisy.

In the words of her Uncle Sweet Eddie, "She is so precious."

He is madly in love. :)

Cookies for the Troops 2

2013-10-15T10:04:00.001-04:00

I am so happy to be a part of another round of Operation Cookie Takeover! Last spring more than 10,000 cookies were baked, donated, and shipped to Afghanistan for distribution to our brave and noble troops. For that first round I made patriotic themed cookies. This time it is all about the Halloween season! Also for this round, instead of a mass distribution of cookies, each volunteer was given the name of an individual to send our cookies to for them to enjoy and share with friends and coworkers. I love Halloween and I love the opportunity to show my support for the courageous men and women who defend our Country.

In my first post for Cookie Takeover, I talked a lot about my father-in-law who served bravely in Vietnam. Just this September, Dad passed away. He was a wonderful, generous, loving, funny man. Although I only got to know him for the last few years of his life, I hear his stories and jokes, and see his spirit live on through his amazing son, my husband. I am so lucky and proud to be a part of this family.

To represent the fun and spirit of Halloween, I made some classic designs, but I couldn't resist making some cute cookies as well.

Candy Corn!

Jack-o-lanterns!

Owls!

Spooky Trees!

Bride of Frankenstein!

And how could I resist: Halloween Hello Kitty!

Pumpkin Hello Kitty!

Witch Hello Kitty!

Devil Hello Kitty!

Spider Hello Kitty!

Bride of Frankenstein Hello Kitty!

Vampire Hello Kitty!

A Happy Halloween Collection

I hope these cookies provide some smiles and reflect my gratitude.

As I ship these cookies off to a hero currently defending our Country overseas, I also dedicate them to my hero, my father-in-law, Edward J. Ekstrom. May he rest in peace. We love you, Dad!

Furrybones® Cookies

2013-10-02T09:26:00.000-04:00

Now that it is October, Halloween season has officially begun here in Salem! That means tourists, lots of tourists, lots of traffic, ghost tours, costumes, people watching, and lots of Halloween decorations and goodies in every shop. We love it!

To kick off the season, I made cookies of some cute and creepy little toys that I kept seeing in the local shops. Furrybones® are the creation of artist Misaki Sawada. They are skeletons who love costumes. There are so many different critters, so I chose some of my favorites to cookie.

Furrybones® Black Bun Bun

Furrybones® Elefun

Furrybones® Flappy

Furrybones® Hootie
