However, we realise that you might be a bit overwhelmed by the constant news flow, each day revealing a new controversy about Ye, so we decided to summarise the Chicago rapper and designer’s shortcomings in recent weeks and hopefully explain the situation better.

In this article, we’ll cover the most important bits and pieces of Kanye’s latest tirades that saw him lose a good portion of his fortune overnight. This isn’t the first time that Ye has found himself in hot water, but we think it might be one of the worst ones. We’ll try to give you some background as well, but we’ll concentrate on recent events.

The Paris Fashion Week Show

Kanye might have started off his career in music, but lately, he’s been a much more prolific fashion designer. At the most recent Paris Fashion Week (24/09/22-04/10/22), Ye had prepared a surprise catwalk, which did indeed surprise a lot of people, including the festival’s organisers.

His daughter North West performed with a child choir at the show, which was a sweet surprise. It’s not the most talked about surprise, though. When the models came out, some of them wore a T-shirt with Pope John Paul II on the front and “White Lives Matter” on the back.

Ye then struck a picture with the controversial right-wing commentator Candace Owens who also sported the shirt. The Internet was immediately set ablaze as the phrase “White Lives Matter” is seen as a racist dog whistle against the BLM movement and black civil rights as a whole. Owens recently made a documentary against BLM, which further fueled the fire.

Some noted that Owens and West cannot be racist against their own race and that they were simply expressing their opinion that both black lives and white lives matter. In addition, Ye spoke about his ex-wife’s Paris robbery and he spoke against his former manager Scooter Braun.

West parted ways with Braun in 2018, which at the time was called an amicable “divorce”. West then said that he can’t be managed. Braun is a somewhat hated figure by both fans of West and Taylor Swift (Braun bought Swift’s previous music label and restricted her access to her first six albums).

Antisemitic Remarks

Just two days later after the Paris show, Ye was invited on the Tucker Carlson Show on Fox News. The two-hour-long conversation included some pretty bizarre statements, some of which made the producers, and probably even Carlson, question their decision to invite the rapper.

First, West said: “I prefer my kids knew Hannukah from Kwanzaa. At least it will come with some financial engineering.” Although this remark was cut from the show, people found out about it and they decried it as antisemitic because it espouses the trope that Jews control the world’s finances and/or that Jews only care about money.

Kanye further upheld these beliefs when he said: “I just think that’s what they’re about, is making money” in an apparent reference to Jared Kushner, who’s Jewish, and his role in the Abraham Accords (a peace treaty in the Middle East).

Finally, West also said that Planned Parenthood’s founder Margaret Senger, who’s now a controversial figure due to her views on eugenics, created the health service, which is mostly infamous for providing abortions, to control “the Jew population”.

Ye didn’t mean Jews, however, but black people, which is another antisemitic trope espoused by black supremacists, such as the Black Israelites, who believe they are the real Jews and that those Jews of fair complexion are fake.

If that wasn’t enough, Kanye shared his DM’s with the rapper Diddy in which he blamed him of being controlled by Jews. When his Instagram was locked for this post, he jumped to Twitter where he wrote the-now-infamous tweet promising “death con 3 on Jewish people”. Death con likely stands for “DEFCON”, a military term for heightened threat alert.

Kanye later said that he was referring to his producers and managers, who are Jewish, not to all Jewish people, but the apology was hardly an apology. Kanye would later also claim that a Jewish doctor deliberately misdiagnosed him as bipolar, along with the racist idea that Jews control the media.

Outcry

As you can imagine, the outcry was imminent, but perhaps not even Ye could imagine the consequences. Piers Morgan tried to make him apologise, while condemning his rhetoric, but Kanye refused, saying that black people have endured worse than Jews have for his comments.

In the meantime, almost every big company associated with West has dropped him. ACC, the talent agency, said they would no longer have him as a client. Def Records, the music label, noted that his contract expired. JP Morgan and a law firm have also ended their contracts with him.

Most significantly, Adidas officially cut ties with Kanye, which is a big deal considering that their collaboration brought Adidas more than 10% of their annual profits. Balenciaga has also cut out Kanye. It’s believed that Ye is no longer a billionaire, with his assets now around $400 million.

These events, however, only seemed to have proven him right in his eyes. We don’t know if Ye will ever apologise or how his career can recover, but he has recently said that he already planned to have his own social media platform, along with his own brands and stores.

Moreover, this upcoming season of Netflix’s The Crown is also expected to brush some feathers and create negative press against the monarchy for their alleged treatment of Princess Diana.

The Title

Let’s start with the title. For a long time, the memoirs didn’t have a title, but recently it was announced that the book will be called “Spare”. This refers to the notion of the heir and the spare; the heir is the firstborn destined to be a monarch, and the spare is the second child who would substitute for their older sibling if anything were to happen to them.

The phrase is believed to have been coined by American heiress Consuelo Vanderbilt in the late 19th century as she referred to her children by the Duke of Marlborough. Ever since, that phrase has been widely used to describe princes and princesses that came second like Princess Margaret and Prince Andrew.

Already the title promises a controversial story in which attacks against the monarchy are to be expected. Princess Diana allegedly didn’t shy away from the term and called Harry the spare. In addition, whenever Harry would misbehave as a child, he’d excuse himself by pointing out he’s the spare and it’s only William, the heir, who should behave.

Harry’s embracement of the term also suggests we might hear a victim narrative, rather than one of his victories such as the Invictus Games. People continuously point out that a privileged man like him, a literal prince, should stop complaining, especially when the world is battling an unprecedented financial crisis.

There have been talks that the death of the Queen prompted Harry to tone down his criticisms of the monarchy and to also try to remove some allegedly hurtful comments he made in his already-written memoir.

It’s still not clear whether changes were made or not or not; many speculate that with this lucrative book deal, which is said to number around $20 million, the publishers would not accept any big changes that could eat away at the profit they would make if the book contains the unadulterated opinions of an angry prince.

In addition, Omid Scobie, who wrote a favourable book about the Sussexes and always defends them online, said that the memoir was not rewritten after the Queen’s death. He’s thought to be close to the couple, so we’re inclined to believe him.

Now let’s talk more about some of the things that Harry might discuss in his upcoming memoir. We know that he’ll talk about the tragic loss of his mother Diana and about how he had to face the cameras at the lowest point of his life and at the tender age of 12. There would likely be other segments dedicated to Diana as well.

Penguin Random House, his publishers, have said that “Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, one that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous, and uplifting human story,” but people started doubting that when they saw the book title.

The publishers also said that the autobiography will cover the royal’s life from a little boy to an inspiring young man. We expect to hear more about his childhood, his relationship with his closest relatives and of course, his military career that saw him fight in Afghanistan. There would naturally be segments about charities he’s headed and perhaps information about his future plans.

What about more recent dramatic events? Well, Harry’s publisher said that the prince will tell his story “with raw, unflinching honesty”, which doesn’t sound too good for the Royal Family. Undoubtedly, the book will include the so-called Megxit and Harry’s troubled relationship with the media.

The question is, what would the angle be? Is Harry going to solely blame the media for his exit or is he going to name-drop senior royals who didn’t help him and his wife adjust to their new duties? A lot of people want to know whether Harry would name the infamous royal racist who was concerned about his son’s skin tone.

While many expect to hear sweet stories about his brother William and their strong bond in childhood, they also expect to hear about the rift between them and what caused it, which might hurt the future king.

This sort of speculation has led some to believe that King Charles is waiting for the book to come out before he bestows the titles of prince and princess to Harry’s children Archie and Lilibet. Archie and Lili are entitled to these titles as grandchildren of the reigning monarch, but the King hasn’t announced any changes, despite giving William the Prince of Wales title right away.

Release Date

Spare will come out on 10th January, 2023. Some have already speculated that the choice of date is deliberate and is meant to throw shade at Princess Catherine, whose birthday is the previous day.

This might sound bizarre at first, but people seem to be sure of it because Harry and Meghan announced their royal exit on 8th January, 2020, a day before Catherine’s birthday, which was interpreted as a sign of their bad relationship.

Before we begin discussing various stories and theories as to why Corden is leaving, it’s only fair to start with his version of events. Corden shared that the show has taken a massive toll on him and his family due to the busy schedule.

Corden said that his three children are growing up so fast and that he can’t always spend time with them, noting how he had to cancel family vacations because of work clashes. He said that his older relatives also need his attention and that he’s ready for a quieter life in his native Britain.

Additionally, Corden said that he never expected to be a host for that long. He thought he’d only spend five years at the job, despite the fact that US TV hosts tend to have long careers. Corden thought that he’d get bored at some point and thought he should better leave before that happens.

Gossip About Corden’s Exit

Now that we heard Corden’s reasons for leaving, let’s dive into the juicy stuff.

James Corden has always had an aura of a funny lovable guy, which is one of the reasons why he was so well received everywhere. Corden became famous as one of the lead writers and actors in the hit British show Gavin and Stacey. He later joined A League of Their Own, a sports show where the hosts provide funny commentary.

This won Corden fame over the pond as well, which enabled him to make the transition and replace Craig Ferguson as a host for The Late Late Show. Viewers immediately fell in love with his down-to-earth persona and they loved his original segments like Carpool Karaoke and Spill Your Guts.

However, recently, some stories started popping up about Corden, revealing the fun guy persona was just a façade. For instance, Corden took place in a Reddit Ask-me-anything event and some users who’ve allegedly met him had very unsavory stories to tell.

One user said that Corden mistreated staff at an English restaurant and became aggressive toward them. Another used said they went to a live taping of A League of Their Own and said that James had tantrums directed at production staff and later refused to mingle or take pictures with any members of the audience.

In addition, someone else shared that they saw Corden acting out on a plane, berating his wife and refusing to help her calm their baby. On top of it all, another redditor shared a story about Corden showing up to a writers meeting for The Late Late Show arguing that writers should get lower wages. Yikes.

While none of these stories can be proven for a fact, Corden’s diva personality has been witnessed as well. Most recently, the owner of Balthazar, a New York restaurant, fired at Corden who yelled and berated staff because he found egg white in his yolk omelette and even asked for free drinks. Corden later apologized, but this just goes on to show how he acts in private.

In another instance, Corden got really mad with Patrick Stewart who criticised Corden for his indifference when presenting the Glamour awards. Corden proceeded to get really close to Stewart, telling him he can see him die on stage right now. This could have been a funny joke, but Corden’s tone and body language made it seem otherwise.

These are just some of the stories we thought of on top of our heads, but they made us think that Corden saw that the public opinion of him had drastically changed and he decided to step back on his own terms. We do believe that he pulled an Ellen, the disgraced TV host stepped down this year after allegations of abuse towards staff and her guests.

However, there is perhaps hope for Corden now that everyone is telling him to tune it down and act nicely. He himself has admitted that fame has changed him, after friends and family confronted him about his behaviour. He apparently even went to “celebrity rehab” to work on his issues.

These types of media have proven to be very successful with readers and viewers, which suggests that it should be a niche that has to be explored more since there is an active interest in stories like that.
