Update + New project!

2012-10-02T23:03:00.001+08:00

Hello!

I'm terribly sorry for not being so active in my blog, because there's tons of crazy stuffs going on recently... My work with terrible timings, just reformatted my laptop and there's tons of things need to be back in place thousands of photos making me faint! All the chores and my 2 cute but troublemaking dogs. :) But no worries, every thing will be back to as per normal in no time! I promise!!

So with that all set aside, so, here's the "New Project" I'm all excited about!

Just some sneak preview! But I'll post pictures along the way to keep you all on the track with me :)

I'm pretty sure you know what's my 'New Project' is all about now! :D

I'm really excited! As you can tell I just got started, but, I do have a rough idea on how it is going to be. Haven't really decided yet though! Let me know what you all think!!! I'd love to hear some feedbacks and ideas from ya' all!

AND! Please do follow me on Instagram , Twitter & my other blog Sparkling Citrus it's more about my make-up, fashion and food lifestyle kinda thing!

And with that, I shall end here :)

Thank you all!

Love,

Cherilyn♥

Flowers!!...

2012-08-05T02:59:00.004+08:00

This post shall all be flowers, flowers & flowers! Nothing more, just flowers.
I do have quite a bit to share since this year, I went to the Singapore Garden Festival 2012. And yes, this was my 1st! I was quite excited though I was in quite a rush since I'm meeting my aunt and her friends to dinner and I was already late.. Regardless, I still enjoyed myself to the fullest :) Oh! And there were booths around that sells flowers or related stuffs like that, I did bought some things and was really excited! I will share with you all at the end of the post!! I didn't really take photos of the booth, since there is tons of people crowding around plus, I was in quite a bit of rush too.

Note: Picture heavy

Guard toads/frogs(I can't really differentiate them...), Indoor trees! Really, really stunning and gorgeous flower settings and arrangements! Bonsais! They were so beautiful! Really pretty and happy to watch. I really enjoyed myself. Looking forward to the next Singapore Garden Festival :)

So, here is my purchases during that day,
Of which I bought 3 mini orchids! They are sooooo adorable!!

Orchid 1.

Orchid 2.

Orchid 3.

Orchid 3. My favorite!!

And also a indoor plant!

Tiny one of course! to fit in my table :) Really love the rounded leaves and red veins! So pretty!

Oh! And if you're wondering how tiny the orchids are here's a rough guide :)

Also if you can tell it's actually 12 midnight, since the light source mainly come from my ceiling light and it was still really really dark and I have to use another 2 extra lights to achieve the above photo without using flash :(

Last purchase for the day! Really, really, really cute dried flowers which I got a bunch of them but in only 3 colours :)

Aren't they pretty!

Bunch of flowers my mum got home from the flower shop! They're so pretty! Couldn't resist and snap a few pictures and I thought I would share with all of you!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Love, love, love!

Miniature Fake Sweets Turorials Episode 2, Croissant.

2012-07-16T20:38:00.001+08:00

Hello!!

Ok, before I start..
Just so you will know that I am very likely will be or will not be posting something different other then just crafts related stuffs, for example, make-ups or fashion related stuffs? etc etc.. Maybe even a review? I'm still not so very sure because I pretty much am quite sure that it will be all jumbled up and messy? But on the other hand, I don't have to keep track of 2 blogs and it would also be a whole lot easier for me and for those of you who are interested. But, it might not be so appropriate... I think? I don't know..... Oh dear..

Anyways, lets just get started with the tutorial!
Do note that I wouldn't be doing much of a 'explaining' since the pictures are doing pretty well in their job. But! Regardless if you have any questions just post a comment or mail me :D

Step 1: Take anything you have and roll out a long oval shape. It would be much easier if you start of with a oval ball of clay. And in this tutorial i'm just using Fuwa Fuwa clay with a bit of yellow ocher water colour. Thickness, about 1 to 2mm? Depending....

Step 2: Use a long metal ruler or anything to cut them into a long rectangle and mine is measuring from 5.5cm to 2.5cm ±. And do a marking at the middle, bottom.

Step 3: Cut them into long triangle, as you can see I've used the marking as a guideline and my top still measures 2.5 cm.

step 4: So starting from the widest part, roll them.

Step 5: It might take a few practices to be perfect but its ok! :)

Step 6: Here I am using some sort of a double ended clay tool, but you could use anything, like your metal ruler etc.. and gently create some lines without crashing your yet to finish croissant :)

Step 7: as you can tell how I did it :) Because I have no idea how to really explain this step in detail... Be gentle.

Step 8: Is not really a step but, this should be how it should look like. Almost done!

Step 9: Very last step, for me, I'm using my sponge, a cheap foundation sponge of course, and with abit of yellow ocher & water (few drops) mixed, dip sponge and 'brown' them, like picture above :)

Tip: Once you dip the sponge before browning them try it on a piece of paper first, to see if consistency is not too watery/thin (will dampen your clay) or sticky/thick ( too dark of a colour and very hard to lighten) better to build the colour slowly and evenly.

VOILA!

Easy to do croissant! So cute I tell you :D

You could definitely spice things up a little bit, chocolate/strawberry chocolate dips or toppings is really cute too!

This tutorial have been taken for I don't know how many 182379 years back, and I have no idea why I haven't post it up for you all.... ( cause I thought I ~~did~~.... ) hahahahaha :)

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed and learned something!!

Definitely more tutorials coming up for sure!!

Till then!

Love,

Cherilyn♥

iFeedback Bloggers’ Challenge

2012-07-01T00:00:00.000+08:00

Something different. Dedicating this post to Nestlé.
And also a huge part is because of the iFeedback Bloggers’ Challenge!

Because you stand a chance to win a Pair of tickets to any European destination that Finnair flies to!!
How awesome is that?? My choice is of course either Paris or Amsterdam! Amsterdam, recently just caught my eye, definitely a great place to escape those stress and fast pacing environment. Paris, in my list of 'dream countries to visit' at least once in my entire life.

Enough dreaming and let's start!

IMG Source: https://redmart.com/nespray-fortified-full-cream-milk-powder-l.html

I remember when I was young I used to drink NESPRAY every single day. Because i was soooo skinny and that everybody tells me to drink milk everyday... It's this brand cause amongst all I only find the taste of this milk was acceptable and therefore to drink everyday. Yes, different brands of milk tastes differently!! Because when I was in Pri school I was being forced to drink milk before my recess(because I was serverly under weight.. duhh...) and I almost puked cause the milk tastes terrible... Terrible enough for me to puke. cannot remember what brand as that cause I only had it once.. So NESPRAY! Lovesss :) I didn't grew any fatter thou.... I told you it was in my genes. I love milk btw.

The ever so popular, MILO!!

Mummy always buy me a cup of MILO for me to drink whenever I had my blood tests or check ups, cause she say it gives me energy & so that i don't feel so giddy :))) & *heart*

I don't really drink MILO in the morning thou, cause I'd have a slight tummy ache by noon... But the rest of the day drinking MILO is not a problem! Guess it's the empty stomach or??

I always thought you can only make MILO in hot water, didn't know it dissolves really well in normal temp. water too!!! This is a few rounds of stirrings..

And another few more rounds.... So much better! Soo many years of MILO and i only realized it now..

Only started drinking Coffee somewhere around this year.. But my mum, dad & grandpa drinks this every single day in the morning without fail.

NESCAFE, you have no idea how many bottles they've emptied you.

And now, My favorite!

HONEY STARS!!

Midnight snacks!
Just love the taste of Honey Stars!

KOKO KRUNCH!!

My brothers favorite! And mine too, but Honey Stars still No. 1 :)

But i still love KOKO KRUNCH! Hahahaha!!

Preparing........

Then.. I found Rocket! Honey Rocket! I didn't realise until I saw the packaging and was like.... Sooooo cute!! The real one is cuter then the one shown in packaging :D

Vrooooom!! Honey Rocket shoots out Honey Stars and more Honey Rockets!

Then it arrives to the Milky Way!

And is ready to serve :)

Honey Stars and Koko Krunch my favorite combo!

Ok, this part was intended to be at the top but.... It was rather dissapointing....

Nothing seems wrong....

*I can't take a screenshot while its on scanning mode.*

After Scanning for like 100003836541 times, this is always the result.

FYI, phone used, Samsung galaxy note.

And this is the product I've been scanning on...
I've also tried on all Nestle products I found at home but non works....

Anyways,I would like the above product and write a text review:

"Though i really love Honey Stars but I a princessy/floral look cereals, like white and pink marshmallow with crowns, tiaras etc... cereals. Would be SO AWESOME! Because all the cereals so far are so boyish... Thank you!!!"

I will update this post again when they got the bug fixed!

Trails and Errors...

2012-06-14T02:28:00.003+08:00

Finally! Exam is over(for now)!!! Therefore, more free time, which equals to more craft and hobbies time!!!!! Excited!~~~ Should be moving all my kept clay and crafting stuffs out anytime soon this week or so. Till then, I'll keep you guys posted~! :D

These are all my trials.. Only until I find it satisfactory I'll not mass produce :)

Slice Strawberries!

Have been trying to master them for a long long time and almost there!

FILOFAXXXX!! Created new tabs for Maldenee(name of my filofax)!!!

Still not very satisfied tho.. Hmmm... In the process of finding suitable designed craft papers for it.

No idea whats the name for it but it's those that you use for scrap booking, square papers with designs on it, sold individually.
You know?

Keychain for Maldenee too!!!!

Still in the process... Cause I'm not quite happy with the existing one I made, therefore I disassembled it.. :( It's so hard to get that right 'feel'..

Thanks for reading!!!

Fake sweets:Macarons Addiction! & The Edibles

2012-05-17T03:24:00.001+08:00

Hello Everybody!!

This is my 1st, errr... 2nd time! Doing 1:12 scaled miniature fake sweets :) 1st was the Christmas log cake :) I don't really do 1:12 scales miniature fake sweets just cause I'm not really a huuge dollhouse miniature fan or something.. I still do love miniatures pretty much but I just prefer turning my fake sweets creations to something more useful like part and parcel of a certain things, key chains, accessories etc...

And this time: Macarons!

I must say it is quite addicting doing them!

Cause everything is just sooooo adorable! Thou I must say I'm not quite used to it yet :)

Here's the comparison!!! adorable~

Here's something different!! The Edibles

Panna cotta!!

Its a very creamy and thick vanilla pudding? (Hahaha! I'm not really sure but i think that is what it is) That is supposed to melt in your mouth, well, that's what my brother said. (a little bit of him, he studies pastry and baking) And best serve chilled & that is what I said :) Cause I think it melts. Not like ice, duhh, but it gets really really.... soft? Like lesser of its shape. I think. Hahahaha!

I know it's abit unusual to use Orange as toppings cause i find it kinda too sweet to eat it alone and oranges is the only fruit I can find more suitable (then apples, longans or pears) in my fridge. But it tastes AWESOME with Orange!! It is less sweet and refreshing! :)

And that is all for today!
Hope you enjoyed!

Love,
Cherilyn ♥

New Gadgets!!

2012-04-27T02:40:00.002+08:00

Hello hello!

Yes.. The title speaks for itself. Duhhh!! Haha :D

Anyways, I've got 2 new gadgets!!! Of which 1 of them is what I've wanted for a very very very verrrrrryyyyyyy long time and finally got my hands onto it. And the another one is a 'surprise' .... Not really, sort of??

Here goes... The one I've always wanted! Waited SOOOOOO long until my neck is as long as a Giraffe's....

And That is.....

TADAAA! A Canon DSLR! :DDD It's Canon 600D. I didn't really pay much attention to what kind of model I really want.. Just a DSLR would really do since I'm a EXTREME Beginner. So it's kinda risky to invest a whole lot into it. My 1st choice was actually the 550D but! 600D came out not-so recently and it has got that rotating LCD screen or something so.. I told myself... "I'M GONNA GET THAT!" Because I thought 600D is the only one with the rotating LCD screen, so no future comparison was done. Then....(when I've already bought the camera, 600D) One day, I saw somewhere that 60D was a better version of 600D and it ALSO have got that rotating screen thing...... SO, Moral of the story is... Don't get so excited, check thoroughly before you do something stupid.
And I was like.... LALALALALALA I'm still SO VERY HAPPY with my camera :) HAA!
And yes, that girl you see in the photo is ME! Cause I don't know how to take a photo of my camera myself aside from posing in front of a mirror. Lol.

For the 2nd sort of surprise is....

My SAMSUNG GALAXY Note something something...

I said it was a surprise is because.... My previous phone, which is my Iphone 3GS gave me a SURPRISE of spoiling all so suddenly and its totally NOT functioning I don't know why. So luckily I've got my previous previous phone which is also Samsung, still functioning :) And that at least i could still go out, with a functionable phone..

Yup so this is the end of my Gadgets Story. Not really a big fan of gadgets or electronic stuffs but i must admit/say that I still couldn't live without them. :)

Here's 2 of my favorite random shots taken by my new 600D!!

And that is all! Hope you guys enjoyed!

Update & New Favourites: Filofax

2012-03-14T23:24:00.002+08:00

Haven't been touching my clay for a long long time :( But no worries! I will be soon, since I promised to make a deco-ed photo frame for my housekeeper when she's going back to her hometown :D

Above both are done very very long ago! It was a Christmas present for my cousins.

They're both raspberry cheese cake, with crystals of course! HAHA :D

And do let me introduce to you my newest obsession!! FILOFAX! Tho I've started keeping a diary since last year, it was those really really cute Korean diary/planner that gave me the craving of keeping one, it was too cute for me to resist not to get one! So, after the year is ending, I was searching for one desperately, like I wanted one really simple and with those snap closure, then I found Filofax! Super excited, cause its exactly the way i wanted it to be. Ok, and you have no idea how long i took to decide which I wanted.. I ain't gonna say it! *it only proves how indecisive I am. :) Finally! Chose Filofax Malden, super excited! Absolutely love love love everything about Malden :)

Wasted no time making it my very own!

A few pages of my diary, I'd always try to add something fun and cute so it doesn't look so plain and boring.

I do apologize for the blurry pictures, but i did that on purpose thoo.

And yeah! I bought a few stock ups for Malden, especially love the zipped pouch!

Oh! And if you guys don't really know yet, I super love stationary! And not really a gadget person :D I guess that is also why I'm drawn to Filofax? Like most stationary lovers would right? Haha!

OK, that's all the photos I have taken for now, there's definitely a part 2 for this! So stay tuned ok!

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Cherilyn

I'm Back!

2012-03-08T03:22:00.002+08:00

Hi Guys!

First of, I want to sincerely apologize for my very dead blog! I know busy is not an excuse but, i really am.
OK, so... After looong looong consideration, I've decided.

I should post something different today! Rather than just clay, clay and more clays :D

It's something really long ago.. Way back at January (yes, this year), we've finally as in Officially graduated from our Diploma course. So,

Yes.. I love taking photos of flowers, especially close shots (macro) those detail in the flowers is just too fascinating :) But my cam ain't good enough.. I mean, it wasn't bad. Just.... I want a better one :( I still love my old one tho, cause it is been with me for like 4-5 years? More that that? And it's still really really good! Oh well...

Enough said! Lets end this with a awesome photo of my principal & me getting my cert'. :D

Love,

Cherilyn

Miniature Fake Sweets Tutorials Episode 1, Tarts.

2011-10-25T02:57:00.001+08:00

HELLO!

It's SugarCherries's 1st fake sweets tutorial! How's that?!
HA!
I've always been wanting to do one!
Anyways, this is how it goes.. I wouldn't be really explaining for every single photo but I'd be pointing out tip's that more complicated or not really shown in the pictures itself. :D

So let's cut those ~~crap~~ out and get going!

This is Fuwa Fuwa clay mixed with Daiso's clay ratio's about 2 : 1 ±

Using Yellow Ocher, Poster colour.

Roll it into a ball and use any tools you could find eg. back of a pen. I basically just used my fingers, its not hard to achieve what it looks like below.

And you should have something like this :D

Make sure you rotate it 45° and 75°

You could use similar tools like needles or toothpicks to achieve this :)

And there it is!

People keep asking me how I make those 'crackly' lines/texture. My answer is, play with those clays! Understand their textures! I should really do a Daiso's clay review soon ya!!??

Brown them!

Ok, so.. The one on the left is just pure Daiso clay. And the right is the same above :)

See, just how much you could play with!

So here are some of the ideas I have for tarts bases!

I'd definitely prefer using just pure Daiso's clay for tart base cause it's much easier, all i have to do is just pressing it down and VIOLA! Plus I really like those massive cracks! :)

Of course, that's just my opinion and it really depends what you're really going for :D

And that's a wrap everybody!!
Hope you guys enjoyed and learned something!! ♥♥♥♥

Review - Wood Formo. self-proclaimed, poop clay.

2011-09-13T13:11:00.001+08:00

Hi guys!

As promised, Wood Formo clay review is up!

Ok, as for that title on the self-proclaimed thing is abit... Cute! Hahahaha, ok... you guys will understand.. Just keep scrolling down and watch :D

Chunks of fresh Wood Formo.

Texture wise, its pretty hard to handle cause it sort of cracks or crumble into pieces easily. So that makes it not a really good clay to work on its own. Unless you mix it with another type of clay.

It does have a weird smell like... preserved plums?

A more detail picture of Wood Formo.

It has those like, tiny hairy fiber. Interesting.

So here's a comparison.

When unmixed, with other clay, its really hard to get them together. It crumbles easily..

When mix, its very good to work with. Of course, that depends very much on the type of clay you mix with, you definitely want to mix it with something soft like Fuwa Fuwa or Hearty clay.
- It can be molded into any shape you want. But it doesn't holds detail very well.
- Ratio also depends very much on what texture you want it to be. Add more if you want something more manageable then it will also go lighter in terms of colour. Effect would be opposite if you add lesser, of course.

It dries to about 2 ~ 3 shades lighter.

So you do wanna add some colour if you want it dark & knead really well.

When cured, its very very hard when pressed, but it's also so stiff that it cracks very easily... Just like biscuit..

LOL! This is what i'm talking about! HAHAHAHA!

This isn't really the best poop I've made tho.. But it really does look like my dog's poop.

I did a prank on my brother and he was so pissed! HAHAHA! And says I'm sucha lamer...

Seriously.. Who cares!! HAHAHAHAHA!

Ahem.. Back to work.

Some of the ways is definitely biscuit bases for my cheese cakes!

This 1st batch of cheese cake doesn't go so well cause the base was definitely too thick for my liking :( Ohhh well...

And that is all for this post!

Hmmm.. next post would be..?? Some of my finished pieces!!

So stay very tuned!

2011-08-07T11:42:00.006+08:00

Heya peepos!

It has been awhile since the last post! I've been working on lots of fruits lately, and they are really tedious to do... Also some of my about-to-finish products! Can't wait to finish'em all but I'm so slow on my work! hehhhh :D

Without further ado I shall let the pictures & of course a lil' of me to do the talking!

Work in Progress! *from left: Blueberry, Black raspberry (doesn't look like one aye?) & preserved cherries!

In the mist of doing red raspberry!

Preserved cherries when cured! I used sukerukun clay btw :DD

Strawberry! Sooo Adorable! *sinks down

Black Raspberry :D Nice and glossy~

Red Raspberry!

Whipping cream!
I actually mixed until the stick breaks! Can imagine how hard is it to mix all those clay into the right consistency, you'll need lots of strength and patience! *out-of-breath

Pastel sugar coated candy!

Sugar coated candy!
This version is much much nicer! CUTE! *floats away

Undecorated half sliced Strawberry shortcake!

Undecorated sliced Strawberry shortcake!

My revamped Bulletin Board!
Awesome or what! Its so cute i tell you. And I'm not done yet!

Yes, I've added this... i don't know called what but its for putting my erasers and stuffs :D

Glued and nail them in. I get rough sometimes..
And i always double secure things! :D

That is all I have for this post!! I've got alot alot more done! But haven't uploaded them into my comp yet :D

Until next time!

I need MORE!!

2011-07-24T23:08:00.004+08:00

Did a clay craft related purchase recently!! Some of you might be wondering why i actually specify 'clay craft related' cause some things just doesn't make so much sense. But anyways, i shall just continue...

Have purchased this awesome clays few weeks back from tinkleartncrafts Super friendly & fast service, items are packed nicely too :D
I've also purchased some keychain findings together but I didn't include them in the picture cause I've already kept them away and was lazy :)
So far I've only tried Wood Formo and Cosmos clay. I haven't got the chance/reason to open up the rest to use yet, mainly because my lock&lock container(is an air-tight container i use to keep all my clays from getting dried when its open) is packed with full of clay and there's no room for other clays to join in yet :(

Items starting from left:
1. Padico SEALER Matte
2. Mermaid Puffy in Chocolate
3. Mermaid Puffy in White
4. Wood Formo
5. Hearty Soft
6. Cosmos clay

Fuwa Fuwa Clay!
Is my ultimate favorite clay of all. Maybe it's because i used them alot, that's why?
I think this is my 6th and 7th packs of clay purchased. It's super soft, it doesn't leave sticky residue on your hands, no bad odor and all! The best light-weight/paper clay I've worked with so far.
I haven't put my hands on Hearty Soft yet just because the pack was kinda huge and i didn't really found any good place to store them yet, so I'm not opening it anytime from now :(
But will definitely so a review of Fuwa Fuwa clay soon! Just cause its so super damn awesome :D

Some random purchase of mini furniture! It was too cute for me to resist not to buy them!
Was debating with myself whether or not to paint them! OMG, I just can't make up my MIND! Talking about indecisiveness?! Shyyyt.

Cute animal note pads! Super cute! But really small at the same time.. It's like smaller than my palm :( But its CUTE!! HAHAHA yes, this is the thing i was mentioning above. And there's some thing related not directly to the clay craft but I bought this for a purpose to complete my design if that make sense.

Ok, and that was all what i wanted to say! Stay extremely tuned in for next post!

Heello peeps!

Haven't been very productive and efficient lately, on both my blog and everything else :( I was being lazy, pure lazy. Is the only thing i can describe myself now, or maybe a 'pig'? since everyone was calling me that now! Oh my godddddddd.

But I'm still definitely not beyond hopeless!
Cause these are some of the stuff I'm currently working on: (Click on image for larger view)

A 'bulletin' board (thats what i called) i bought from Daiso.
It's for my tiny wall space. I thought it would be cute to pin-up all my Things-to-do and inspirations up :D

I have no idea whats this called but i remembered eating one of these.
They're unfinished yet but... It's not very successful anyways, so... Next please.

Sugar coated Candies!!! Super cute! Love'em! *melts away

'strawberries halves'
didn't do them nicely cause i thought it wasn't necessary since it would be 50-70% covered?
(excuse of being lazy)

Do they not looked like sponge? I think they do!
Cause they're sponge cakes! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ok, the above 2 items are already inside this awesome thing.
Guess what's that?!

What does this look like to you?

Pretty cream puffs!
Failure after failure, i've finally got them right!!

Ok! These are all I'm gonna show you guys for now. More coming up of course! Next post would most likely be all the finished stuffs I'm currently working on right now. There's alot more done that i haven't show you guys yet like the bulletin board and most of the picture shown above above!

There might be short post of my recent clay purchase and some of my 1st time working with the clay! OR past creations and progress that I haven't share with you guys yet!

See? I wasn't all that pig at all! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

P/s: I apologies for the tiny pictures, i didn't realize it would be 'that' small.

Initial - Welcome, peeps :)

Hello peeps!!

The very first post, hmmmmmm......
Lets start with a very brief intro bout me!
Sayy....... I have lots and lots of hobbies, like, cooking, baking, crafts, photography, etc etc... Guess i have too many of em' till I'm not really good at any of them, but i still love them! So, that's why, after much consideration was put into it I've finally decided to incorporate them into one entire blog instead of separate blogs for each individual. Oh well, that really isn't very important anymore since decision is made. :D

Anyways.... Moving on to me, aside from all the hobbies I've got myself into.. I'm actually, currently still a student, pursing my master's in accounting (longgg longg wayy...) Aside from that I'm also working a part-time at my mum's florist shop. So I'm technically a florist, too. And yes, I AM certified (was prolly a year ago) Currently also taking up management courses in florist industry. So that's for my educational background...

To make things short, lets compile the rest to general. So, generally, this blog would be a place where i share my hobbies, mainly, miniature sweets clay craft, flower arranging, fashion, baking & cooking, some time maybe?? It's kind of like anything and everything that I enjoy doing.

So to everyone of you who might have the same pretty and cutesy interest as me(or not!). I sincerely hope that you've enjoyed reading my blog!

And to end this very first post , here's a few pictures of my works :D

Thank you!

Love,

Cherilyn ♥
