Does anyone else adore the color gray?  I find myself using it more and more on cakes and in my home life - it plays so well with all the colors. Like on this cake - black and avocado green really pop when paired with it. Talk to you soon!

I've had a set of Russian piping tips for awhile, but haven't used them much.  Glad I broke them out of storage for this cake - they were a great answer for a buttercream floral motif. Talk to you soon!

Black, white, and red. A classic and classy combination. (Silk flowers were used for the top.) Talk to you soon!

Sometimes the best way to ensure you get what you want is to order it yourself.  Although in all honesty, I pretty much got free reign on the design for these. I was going for a cocktails on the beach birthday kind of feel. Talk to you soon!

Cupakes for an 18th birthday (bet you didn't already have that one figured out, huh?).  Fondant toppers, sprinkles, and buttercream.  Oh, and there's a cupcake in there too! Talk to you soon!

I used edible images on this cake - no way was I going to be able to recreate that bus (especially in the time window I had to complete this cake). And, I apologize for the lighting on this one; there didn't seem to be a good direction to shoot from... Talk to you soon!

I'm seeing a bit of resurgence in cookie cake popularity...are they making a comeback or is it just me? Either way, I'm all for it.  Who doesn't love a soft baked cookie with frosting?? This particular one was customized with the birthday boy's name, age, and baseball team. Talk to you soon!

I love, love, love the color scheme on this cake.  The turquoise and purple really pop against the gray! Talk to you soon!

They say that the dog is man's best friend, so why not have a puppy cake that'll be your pal?  At least until you eat it. Talk to you soon!

Our local swim team is the "Gators," so naturally, when they ordered cookies, there was only way to go. Alligator cookies, of course! Thouh the coaches got custom cookies because, well, they are the coaches! Talk to you soon!

Did you know you can "vacuum seal" a plastic freezer bag without any special equipment? How to: Fill a large bowl (make sure it's larger than the freezer bag & its contents) with water.  Slowly lower the open bag (with the contents inside) into the bowl until the water level is just below the zipper.  Be careful not to let any water seep into the bag!  Seal the bag

I adore the bright colors of this cake.  And the Bunco theme was fun to play off of! Talk to you soon!

First cake balls of 2018 right here! And, honestly, I can't say that I'm super upset about the fact I haven't done more of these this year.  Though I am super happy they weren't cake pops! Talk to you soon!

This one may leave you with a feeling of deja vu. If so, don't worry.  It's a doppelganger to this one.  Two different baby showers require two cakes - nothing says you have to have two different cake designs.  When you have something that works, stick with it, right? Talk to you soon!

GIANT cake of the day!  The base was 18" x 24"; the top tier was a 14" round.  Approximate servings = 200(ish).  Yes, I had to enlist help to move and deliver this cake! Talk to you soon!

It's a good sign when you can laugh and joke with co-workers...even at retirement when you are "quitting." Talk to you soon!

Let's go on an Adventure! The "bark" is all buttercream, no fondant here! Talk to you soon!

"Ladies don't start fights, but they can finish them!"  Guess that movie! If you said, "The Aristocats", you are correct!  This cake was inspired by the movie, particularly by Marie.  The client had figurines of the characters to place on top. Let's go to Paris!

Sometimes a simple cake with sprinkles is the best way to celebrate your day.  Especially when it's chocolate cake! Talk to you soon!

A "Mama" unicorn and her little unicorns - perfect for the baby shower they were "attending." Talk to you soon!

2 birthdays for 2 brothers to celebrate on the same day.  Solution?  1 cake that's basically 2 cakes, so they each get one of their own.  (Luckily, they both wanted the same theme this year.  That will change soon I anticipate!) My favorite part of this cake is probably the flame on the TNT block.  Talk to you soon!

Surf's up!   The biggest challenge on this cake was getting the edible sand to adhere to the sand castle topper and still look realistic.  In this case it kept darkening down too much.  But I fiddled with it enough that it finally turned out fairly well. And, since it was the 1st birthday, there was a smash cake to match. Talk to you soon!

I may have said this before, but I'm going to say it again - I really, really dislike making character cakes.  This transforming guy was no different.  But the birthday boy was excited and enjoyed it! Talk to you soon!
