2011 was like a photography sabbatical for me. 2010, I shot shot shot until I effectively burned out. So I started out 2011 doing self-portraits, a little bit of client work, and then effectively “unplugged” from my camera. Over the summer, I barely lifted myself (let alone my trusty lens) outside. I was creatively incubating– or so I’d like to think.

2012 is different. For one thing, it’s a different number.

But I digress.

I’m ready to get back in the game.

What’s that mean?

I’m back to taking client work, starting in 2012.

Mostly for starry-eyed individuals like you. (Lovebirds welcome too!)

But who I’d most like to work with are people who want to realize how much they shine, how beautiful they are in their bodies, and how awesome they are.

And then another, this time flown by me.

The middle consisted of another plane ride, from which I free-fell into (or should I say out of) the sky, screaming hysterically.

Ended with an overnight plane ride to the snowy north.

2011 was a rough year for me.

I loved and lost– a lot.

But I’m not glad it’s over, I’m glad it happened.

Prepare for me in 2012– more love, more photography, more creating.

More, more, more.

I was talking about how apathetic I was, how being in this house, being in this town steeped me in apathy, remove after 3-5 minutes. It was veering dangerously on the edge of complaining.

“This is not what I need right now,” he said.

I wasn’t really there. I wasn’t really giving him my full attention, my genuine presence, my true love.

“Then what do you need?”

“Someone who cares.”

 

What I really wanted to say is: I feel next to dead here– yet I’m still content, which really just means complacent.

What I really wanted to say is: Of course I care– I love you– don’t you know that?

But instead, I said: “Well, maybe you don’t have to talk to me then.”
