MAC Glitter and Ice Launch party Invite!!

I was so excited to find my invitation to MAC Cosmetics Glitter and Ice party!! I have read mixed reviews about Johnny Weir being on the cover but I personally love his "frigid bitch" pose. I will be thrilled to see the paint pots since they are my new favorite thing at the moment.

We are under evacuation! Eastern Shore Hurricane Irene

Well It's starting to get bad here along the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The wind gust are picking up speeds and the rain is coming in sideways. The major part of the storm isn't due to hit my area until 1am.

People along the Susquehanna river have been told to evacuate and if you choose to stay then you must leave a contact person and how many people are staying. Less then a mile away is the Conowingo Dam. There is major concern the dam may fail due to all the rain coming and the rain that travels down from the northern states like New York and New Jersey.

These are some pictures taken yesterday of Walmart. The shelves have been cleared out and gas station lines where down the road.

It's been since May since I last updated my hair growth process and now here I am on the cusp of waist length curly hair. I have been tmepted several times to cut it all off but luckliy I have the support of my Boyfriend and family to keep growing.

Review of Salon Perfect Perma Lashes lash extentions

After many response to my eyelash extensions I had done at the salon,I decided to explore a more affordable option for us non rich people. I was lucky enough to sit in with my good friend who is a licensed extentionist and was thrilled to see she was using just simple fake lashes- now the glue she used was of professional grade and held up for an astounding 4 weeks; us non licensed people can't obtain this so she suggested I go to Walmart and get a kit with glue and remover. I choose Salon Perfect Perma Lashes starter kit. This kit is sold under the name Andrea and Ardell individual lashes kit. Application is simple enough dip the lash in glue and carefully apply over top your natural lashes. You can see from the difference how 3 bunches of these fake lashes can add and instant WOW factor.
A word of warning: the tweezers in the kit are VERY POINTY you can't loose and eye from them!
I am disappointed in the glue however. If to much is applied it flakes. But on the positive side the glue is clear and basically goof proof. I also liked the variety that came with the pack and the glue is latex free.

Being a fan of the MAC 187 stippling brush is nothing new. I have used it for years never giving a second thought about another brush of "lower quality" until I got a request to do a video on -What is a stippling brush and how do I use it-. Unfortunately, my brush collection got left at the vacation house so I Googled a good cheap brush and Target Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Highlighting brush came up. Off to Target to get some brushes!

I must say I am quite impressed in the volume of the bristles. In my video you can see how even everything looks when stippled on. I would give this a 4 star rating out of 5. My only dislike was the shedding it left.

Eye Lash Extensions Before and After!

Omg! I just went and had eyelash extensions! I know I have never heard of them before either! It wasn't until my friend was preparing for Starscape and I seen her eyes- her lashes were so thick and full I had to ask. She said extensions. Hook a sista up! A new up and coming salon down the road did them for $25 and I was so there.

TIME:
It took about 20 mins and I got to pick what style,color <they had neon!> and length I wanted. I opted for long basic black( I like dramatic flare).

CARE:
She told me they last anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks depending on care and not to put on mascara,oil or sun block on or around them.

RANDOM NOTE:
For allergies, ask if the glue is Latex free, the brand my salon used was such. I wear contact lenses and left them on during the application and haven't had a problem with them yet.

Review of Ocean Tanning Solution for Airbrush

For this review I am using the Medium 8.5% solution. I am very pale skin and a darker solution runs the risk of getting "Snookie Orange"

My initial impression was that I was ripped off by Ebay. The bottle was plain an white and the label was nothing fancy. It had no real information then what I already read about on the website. Still, I just paid $20 for this crap I want to see what it can do. I opened the lid and was pleasantly surprised buy the light aroma that hit me. It wasn't stinky like other sunless tanners; but instead, a light fruity smell like a nice chap stick or lip gloss. Aside from the heavenly smell the product its self was of course watery and looked like old coffee water. Before putting any liquid in my airbrush gun- I ran a small amount over my finger tips to feel it. It was smooth like silk and not stick or greasy. Promising.

To begin, I decided to spray in a spot that no one would see but still gets alot of wear and tear. My foot/ankle area was ideal. I used an old Tylenol eyedropper and put about 6 drops into the pot on my air gun. Using a low air setting with the dial in the 1 o'clock position I began to apply to my fresh wash foot and ankle. I used a sticker just for a marking guide for color. The tanner states it contains a bronzer for instant color and to also act like a color guide. I found this to be correct. My only complaint about this was instead of looking orange like a Jersey Shore member- it gave a slight red look; like I had just been out in the sun for 5 minuets too long. This isn't necessarily bad; however, in a heavy application this could look very goofy but in a normal, light application I find this makes it more realistic looking to other spray tans I have used. The Oceans Tanning solution also dried very quickly which surprised me. Being watery, I assumed it would stay wet but I was happily proven wrong. Again on my skin, it was in no way oil or greasy feeling and had a pleasant smell that even my boyfriend commented on ( in a good way)

This picture shows what it looks like on my foot after 1 application in the sun light. You can see my sticker mark- yeah that white dot is my natural skin tone.

About 6 hours later I got in the shower and most of the guide/bronzer washed off. This included the reddish tint from earlier. What was left behind was a beautiful believable tan color. Now I was a bit disappoint the tan color underneath wasn't that dark but a second light application gave me a lovely tan with out looking fake!.

AFTER WASHING OF COLOR GUIDE

I am curious to see how long this tan will last. I have done Mystic tan before and had good solid color for only about 2 days.
I should also note that I am severely sensitive to certain fragrances and skin product. Things like sun block and hand lotions cause me to get hives and cyst acne. No time during this product review did I experience any reaction or skin hives. This scores high points for me.

Pros:
-Smell
-color guide to see where your spraying
-smooth/ non greasy feeling after application
-believable tan color

Cons
-Some people may find the reddish sunburned look unappealing
-no directions on the bottle- I'm not saying I need them, But I've met others who couldn't use a can opener without help.

Applied to my pasty white thigh- this is 4 day

So I keep seeing adverts for this movie Sucker Punch and I have to say it's really interesting. Of course, lots of people are doing makeup tutorials for the main characters and I was rather fond of a not so main character called Madam Gorsik played by the beautiful Carla Guigino who also happen to play in Sin City and The Watchmen. I found her dominatrix look beautiful so I gave it a go. I have worn this same look out and have gotten alot of compliments on it. Best part is no one can see the fake hair extensions I have underneath.

Quest for Waist Hair: Febuary 2011 Update

Rats. I'm in a mess- a hair mess.Since having my hair cut back in November, its only grown what seems like one inch. I do believe I'm in a dreaded hair stall. After confirming with the tape measure something like seven times it's only showing 27". I whole heartily believe that Riddalin is the cause. My problems first started in January when I noticed major hair shedding- not normal but enough where I had to vacuum the floor twice a week just to get all the strands up. I finally got to the point where I would pre-vacuum my hair just to stop from making a mess. Now here we are over a month later and my hair is not gaining any length. I believe this coming week is when I will start using monistat to see if I can't over come this stall. This time I will do a video posting my weekly growth since so many people have asked about it.

This is a picture I took this morning after washing it last nigth and conditioning with a silicon based conditioner. My hair was not taking to my normal stuff so I used my kid's detangling conditioner.

Tom Cat came home after 5 months gone missing

Back in early September of 2010, our orange and white male Tabby cat just vanished. I remember letting him out that night like always and he never returned. My daughter was devastated and we did the whole missing posters and neighbor scouting- roadside ditches included. Weeks past and turned into months and sadly we assumed he had been picked up by someone in the area and found a new home since he was never found on the roadside. Christmas came and went and we still thought about him. Empty shells of cardboard boxes and the half dead Christmas tree now take refuge on my porch. The Holidays were over no more wishes come true this year.. It wasn't until yesterday January the 4th did a miracle happen. Things were rushed as normal in the morning as I got my daughter in the car for school.After dropping her off I went and got stuff from the store; as I pulled up to the house and close my car door, I heard a familiar cry- out from the pile of cardboard boxes and the Christmas Tree came Tom!! He ran as fast has he could to greet me rubbing on my legs, meowing as loudly as he could. I cried I was in shock,disbelief and happy all rolled into one. Our happy reunion didn't come with out pain though- he had a serious injury to his leg and it is not fully functioning. As my daughter returned home from school and seen him she screamed,my boyfriend was so excited it was a great moment.

"...The cat came back the very next day.
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner.."

It may have been a few months but he did in fact come home <3

Fresh Washed Curls

After co washing for so long, my curls start going limp. I end up having to use shampoo every once in a while to bring them back to life. I use Loreal Sulfate free shampoo diluted a bit in a old hair dye bottle. This allows me to get more shampoo on the roots and not so much the ends of my hair where it is the driest. I follow up with vo5 cone free condish.
You can see from the pictures just how much volume my hair has and this is with no product just air dried.
