I didn’t think when I started this

blog that I wouldn’t have a lot of time for it.

I work 20 hours a week and have 2 days of school.

It doesn’t seem a lot, but I have a little trouble with getting used to this.

But now I’m working less hours and I have less homework.

So now I have more time for my hobby’s.

I think this is a good time to tell you something about me.

I’m now 19 years old.

I’m born in Friesland, a province in The Netherlands.

5 years  ago I moved to another province, Drenthe.

because I failed one subject I have to do it over.

I also chose to redo another subject because I thought I could do better.

My hobby’s are volleyball, playing music and my 2 pony’s.

Thanks to a friend I found out I really liked to play volleyball.

So I joint VC Oostermoer and never left since.

 

 

I started playing music at 8 or 9 years old.

I stopped following lessons but never stopped learning new song or to play new instruments.

I play the Accordion, the piano, the guitar and a couple of other instruments.

I really love animals, that’s why I am planning to study Animal Management.

These are my pony’s; Sulayka and Stefanie.

Sulayka is de big one.

She is a Welsh, Arabian and New Forest.

Stefanie is  a Shetlander. She can be a real pain in the ass that’s why my father calls her a Shitlander.

I hope one day to work with monkey’s. I think they are fascinating creatures.

We were talking and I was telling here I should make something for the blog. So we decided to go to a fabric store. We found a really cute fabric. I wasn’t really sure what to do with it. But then my friend say’s she thought it would be a great fabric for a mobile case. So I said, I will try to make one for you.

This is the result.

I wanted to post the DIY version but I really don’t know how I did it. I’m not good at sewing things, and I had no plan.. I was even afraid that the mobile wasn’t going to fit. But so as you can see I was lucky because it did.

I’m really pleased with the outcome. But most importantly she thinks it’s awesome.

My mom loves the drawings of Fiep Westendorp. She makes drawings for children stories. I grew up with her drawings. So when I found old sheet music I thought I could make this with it.

First cut the sheet music in the A4 format.

Then print the picture you want on the sheet music. I suggest to use a drawing with only black lines.

Cut the sheet music in the right format.

Now you can put the sheet music in a frame.

You can hang it on the wall or give to your mother.

My parrent’s have a country style kitchen. I really like the kitchen, especially this part.

Everything you see here came from a thrift store or a antique shop. My mother used a coat rack in a really nice way.

I am a really big fan of  ”weckpotten” (the three jars in the middle).  Some people use them to storage jam or other home made product. I just use them for flour, sugar and other stuff I use for baking.  I bought the bottle at Ikea  it is from the KORHEN set. I put lemonade in it.  The scale is only for show, we maybe used it one or two times.

Sometimes I can be quite chaotic. That is why i decided to make a planner. I made a “To do list” , calendar and a clip for receipts.

 
 

 What do you need?

1. wrapping-paper
2.  pin-up board
3. contact glue
4. white-board pen
5. clips
6. glass photo frame 
7. glas photo frame
 
 
 

How to make the planner.

step 1. 
Cut the wrapping-paper and past it on the pin-up board.
 
step 2. 
I found a “To do list” on google. 
Glue the list in the frame.
 
step 3.
I made a calendar with help of excel.
Glue the calendar in the frame.
 
step 4.
Glue the frame’s on the pin-up board.
 
step 5. 
Glue or pin the clip on the pin-up board. 
Fill the remaining information in with the white board pen.

I love baking. My parents don’t mind because they can eat it. A couple a weeks ago my mom came to me and asked if i could make fruit shells. I tried and they where delicious.  I think almost every one can make it.

What do you need?

for the shells

- 8 slices of puff pastry
- 1 egg
- 8 table spoons sugar
- Butter
- fork
- a round cookie cutter
- a cupcake pan
 

for the pastry Cream

- one bag if you buy it in the store

or

- 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
- 250 ml milk
- 75 g sugar
- 2 eggs yolks
- 1 table spoon flour
- pan
- bowl
- spoon
- clingfilm
 

for the filling

- chocolate
- seasonal fruit
 
 
 
step 1.   reheat your oven on gas mark 4 or 325 Fahrenheit or 180 degrees
                 Celsius.
                 Get the slices of puff pastry out of the freezer. Leave them alone for 10
                 minutes.
step 2. Use the round cookie cutter to get a round figure out of the puff pastry.
step 3. Make small holes with a fork. This prevents big air pockets.
step 4.   Grease the bottom of the cupcake pan.
step 5.  Lay the dough on the bottom of the cupcake pan. Brush a layer of egg
                 on  the dough.
step 6. Sprinkle the sugar on the dough.
                Now it has to go into the oven for 15 minutes.
step 7. Get the shells out of the oven and let them cool off.
step 8. When they are cooled off you can melt the chocolate. The melted
                 chocolate goes into the shells, this prevents the shells getting soft. putt
                 the shells in the fridge so the chocolate can harden out.
step 9.  Bring the milk, the vanilla essence and the half of the sugar to boiling
                 point. Mix the remaining sugar with the egg yolks until frothy and stir
                 in the flour. Pour the milk in the egg yolks and stir well.
                 Pour everything back in the pan and let it done
                 for 2 minutes. Pour it into a bowl and cover it with clingfilm and put it
                 in to the fridge. After an half hour to an hour you can putt in the shells.
Step 10. You can putt any fruit you like into the shells. I used strawberry’s
                    because we are growing are own in the garden.
