[UPDATED] Manual Sun Cellular Mobile Data and Internet Settings for iPhone and Android

Activate your Sun Cellular Mobile Data and Internet Settings for your iPhone or Android device by following the steps on how to configure your handset settings. This may help you on get the correct internet configuration on your handset in case you are having problem connecting to the internet.

How to activate my GPRS, handset settings and data on/off?

Step 1: Text NET to 2300
Step 2: You will be notified upon successful activation of the internet service
Step 3: You will receive information on device settings. Proceed with the configuration and use 1234 when asked for a password.
Step 4: Enable Mobile Data and Data Roaming
Step 5: Click “OK” for no additional charges. (Disable when outside the country)

How to Change SUN Pocket WIFI Password

The default username and password when accessing the SUN Broadband Pocket WiFi settings and controls are both “admin” .

Changing your SUN Pocket WIFI Password

NOTE: This steps also applies on how to put password on your sun broadband pocket wifi

Follow the steps below on how to change your password and WiFi Name in these easy steps:

Step 1: Open up your browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer) and put your router's IP adress into the website bar.

Type in http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 it depends on which sun pocket wifi router you are using.

Step 2: On the login page. Type in the password which is 'admin' indicated above.

Step 3: Go to settings > Wifi Settings > Security > Change your password and you are done! You have now changed your sun pocket wifi password.

NOTE:
Make sure your password is secure.
Make sure you remember your password!

How to Avoid Background Data Charges using Sun Mobile Internet

STEP 1: Turn off push notifications and apps you're not using.

For Android Users

Go to Settings
Go to Applications Manager
Swipe to the Running Tab
Stop the Running Applications

For IOS Users

Go to Settings
Go to Cellular
Select "Use Cellular Data For"
Turn off the Applications that are applicable to your load subscription and/or those you only wish to access

STEP 2: Configure updates to download via Wi-Fi.

For Android Users

Go To Settings > About device > Software Update
Select "Wi-Fi Only" to download updates only when connected via Wi-Fi

For IOS Users

Go To Settings > iTunes & App Store
Under Automatic Downloads, make sure that the button beside "Use Cellular Data" is turned off to download updates only when connected via WiFi

STEP 3: When on Facebook, don’t click links from other sites.

Make sure you don't click links that lead you away from Facebook to avoid unwanted charges!

Setting Up SUN GPRS and MMS

Welcome to the SUN GPRS tutorial page. The following informations will help you in setting up your handset for Sun Cellular GPRS and MMS for your wap browsing, push mails or free facebook surfing.

For Sun Prepaid and SUN Postpaid users:
Option 1: On your handset key in Activate then send it to 2300.
Note: The configuration settings will be sent to your phone. You will need to select “Save All” to save the settings in the phone. Some MMS and GPRS handsets already have pre-loaded phone settings.
Activation of SUN MMS and GPRS will require a confirmation message from SUN. A message will be sent to you once the feature has been activated.
Option 2: To configure your handset text SUN GPRS <handset model> then send it to 1200
Option 3: Manually configure your handset.
Note: Contact me or drop a comment for configurations of handset, i will be needing your handset model.
Option 4: If unable to activate your SUN GPRS kindly call hotline numbers 200 for sun mobile phone users and 3958000 from any landline for more informations.
Option 5: For Sun Postpaid users ONLY, drop by at any nearest sunshop and request for system activation of GPRS.
Note: Only Account holders can modify their accounts, if postpaid line not under your name bring authorization letter and ID of account holder.

Sun MyWifi Settings

Quick Step Sun MyWifi (Pocket Wifi)

Insert Sun Broadband SIM Card to the device - make sure device is not connected to power supply when inserting the SIM card
Plug the cord (220V) and connect the SBW Wi-Fi Router to the CPU through the LAN cable. Press the power button found on the router and wait for PC’s Network Connection to connect to the router.
Open a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1/
Select ‘admin’ as the user type
Default password is ‘admin’
Go to Quick Setup and click Next
On the configure PPP Profile Settings page:
1. Dial-up number is always *99#
2. APN should be Static and type in:
- REMINDERS
- mbband for Plan 1399
- fbband for Plan 799, Plan 649 and Easy Broadband
- minternet for Prepaid and SBW Plan 350 Lite

IP Address is recommended to be set at Dynamic
Click Next

On the configure PPP Dial-up Settings page, leave PPP connection and authentication as default values. Click Next.
On Configure WLAN Settings:

1. Name (SSID): User to set-up the router name. This is the name of the router that should appear when its broadcasting.
2. SSID Broadcast - set to Enabled. This turns Wi-Fi broadcasts on.
3. Click Next
On Configure WLAN Security:
1. Encryption Mode: Set encryption type to WEP
2. Network key will serve as the password to filter access to authorized users. Type in 13-digit alphanumeric characters to set password with WEP as encryption type.
3. Click Next
The next page will display the router configuration. Click Finish.
