AllJoyn Peer To Peer Software Development

Today begins development for Alljoyn Peer To Peer Communications Software from Qualcomm. (l interested developers should look into it: Alljoyn.org)

Here's what I have so far:

I have installed the Alljoyn-Windows SDK on my Windows 7 machine using Visual Studio 2010 and have successfully compiled their C#.net Chat application (download coming soon).

Also, I have successfully downloaded the Alljoyn-Android SDK and installed their Android Chat application on the android emulator.

My next experiment will be to use the Android phone to communicate with my Windows 7 machine using Alljoyn communications...Wish me luck ;)

IPad App - ShipStorm

Like a lot of developers I tried the IPhone / IPad App scene for a while. Dove right into game development and with the help of some friends and my kids came up with ShipStorm.

This is the demo. Still working on the full game but for those of you who want to dive into game development, here's my initial concept. (note: for some reason there are junk files in the zip folder when I used my MAC to zip the project...Just delete the junk files...or not).

XNA Game Studio Express Update

Ok...I found my problem. It turns out that the XNA Game Studio Express (CTP) doesn't work. In order to use the Zune 3.0 firmware, it must be used with XNA GSE (Beta) which can be downloaded here: XNA Game Studio Express (Beta)

Also, the conversion from CTP to Beta must be performed manually. Directions to do this can be found here: http://creators.xna.com/en-us/XNAGS3BetaReadMe

Waiting For The Next XNA CTP Release

Well, I did what I don't usually do. Upgraded the firmware on my Zune before refering to the forums and you guessed it, XNA GSE doesn't work. Good news though, It appears that we will be allowed to deploy games to the zune without manual deployment...Just upload the game and go.

I'll keep you posted as the updates come out.

Enhanced Collision Detection

I don't know why my videos suck, but hopefully you can make out what's going on. I have increased the sensitivity of the collision between the "shooter" and the "enemy" down to "pixel-resolution". I have also added navigation at the top left of the screen.
