The 58-year-old actor said he felt "really, really tired" after decades of punishing stunts and fight scenes.

Speaking at the launch of his new movie Chinese Zodiac ahead of the Cannes Film Festival, Chan said this would be the last time audiences see him in a leading action role.

"This is my last action film," he said. "I tell you, I'm not young any more. I'm really, really tired.

"And the world is too violent right now. It's a dilemma - I like action but I don't like violence."

Chan started his career as a stuntman in Bruce Lee classics including Enter the Dragon.

It's clear he was adopted, but how? His journey of self-discovery is one of the themes of the film, and one which had particular resonance for its star Angelina Jolie.

As well as her three biological children with Brad Pitt - Shiloh, five, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne - Jolie has three adopted children, Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, and Zahara, aged six.

She says: "I wondered if they'd ask me questions about the storyline, but because adoption, birth mothers and orphanage are happy words in our house, they're very used to these discussions.

"They just felt proud that they were a little more like Po, so it was lovely."

The kids were actually used as a sounding board for the film.

"As they're aged from two to nine, we figured it was a good group to gauge whether the film was working so we brought them in," says Jolie.

"I did it for them in so many ways and was excited for them to see it."

As well as the adoption theme, they were also interested in the kung fu aspect, because Jolie's sons attend martial arts classes.

She says: "It's been wonderful to get them focused on martial arts and teach them about discipline, respect and how to control their own bodies."

Jolie is used to playing tough action women and Tigress in Kung Fu Panda is no different, but off-screen she describes herself as "a mom who's changing diapers and colouring all night long, so I'm sure I'm very, very soft".

It follows revelations that the Terminator star had an affair and child with a housekeeper who worked for his family for 20 years.

The former Californian Governor has now told his talent agency to postpone all film projects that are under way or being negotiated until further notice, a statement from his office said.

The convention, called 2011BC, is at the Holiday Inn, Smallbrook Queensway on Saturday, August 27.

The script to Bill & Ted 3 is finished and the trilogy will become a reality according to star Alex Winter.

The slacker comedy franchise in which Winter played time-traveller Bill alongside Keanu Reeves as his best friend Ted is set for a shock return.

The script has been penned by the film's original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon and Winter and Reeves both plan to star.

Alex tweeted recently: "Bill and Ted 3. Just got the script. And now to read..."

Keanu has previously revealed the third movie will see Bill and Ted travel back in time to save the world.

One thing is for sure, it will be hotly anticipated by fans all over the world.

HOLLYWOOD director Quentin Tarantino is suing neighbour and fellow Oscar-winner Alan Ball for failing to curb his "intolerably loud" macaws.

Tarantino's lawsuit says the American Beauty writer's exotic birds emit "obnoxious pterodactyl-like screams" which stop him from being able to work.

Reservoir Dogs star Trantino claims he has complained regularly to his neighbour, but is now seeking an injunction to halt the noise.

COMIC book buff Jonathan Ross is to follow in his wife's footsteps by bringing superheroes to the big screen.

Director Matthew Vaughn, who collaborated with the TV funnyman's partner Jane Goldman on hit film Kick-Ass, is aiming to make a movie based on a graphic novel written by film critic Ross.

Vaughn said a Hollywood studio had shown interest in The Golden Age - and he plans to cast Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson in it.

The 'She-Devil With A Sword' first appeared in Marvel Comics back in February 1973 before being brought to the big screen by Brigitte Nielsen in 1985.

Now Texan beauty Amber Heard, star of slasher-horror thriller All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, is tipped to fill the shoes of the Great Dane.

The news has leaked out via Avi Lerner, producer of the new Conan The Barbarian
film which premieres later this year in 3D.

Avi said this week: "We're talking to a few girls for the role of Sonja, but we just finished a
movie called Drive Angry with Amber Heard, and I want to see her. She's my favourite
for the role."

ARNOLD Schwarzenegger has announced his return to the film industry.

The Terminator star, 63, recently ended a seven year stint as Governor of the state of California but has revealed he has given his agents the go-ahead to begin examining scripts for possible movie roles.

"My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today," he wrote on his Twitter page.
