Ghost Rider : Spirit Of Vengeance trailer

Yes, we know the 2007 take on the adventures of Johnny Blaze was slow, slow, slow.

But Nic Cage is revving up the motorbike again for the 2012 sequel.

This time, Blaze is hiding out in Eastern Europe when he's called upon by shaven-headed monk Christopher Lambert (yes, the Highlander himself!) to stop the devil, who is trying to take human form.

According to the studio "Johnny, still struggling with his curse as the devil's bounty hunter, is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds).

"At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy -- and possibly rid himself of his curse forever."

Here's the trailer ...

Why Jase is Matt's ace in X-Men: First Class

Jason Flemyng seems to be Matthew Vaughn's good luck charm having appeared in all four of the films he has helmed so far as well as a number of projects which he has produced.

The pair are reunited in X-Men: First Class, with the flame-haired Flemyng going red all over as Azazel, a devil-like figure who can teleport and is particularly deadly with his pointed tail.

We met up with the 44-year-old star of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and discovered why it was second time lucky for his metamorphosis into a mutant (his appearance as Jekyll/Hyde in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen notwithstanding)

How did you come to be involved in this project?

Matt had flirted with doing one of the other X-Men (The Last Stand) films early on so I was aware of them from before. They were actually auditioning me for Beast but that didn't happen (the role went to Kelsey Grammer)
So I could have been blue and hairy rather than red and slightly out of focus.

Have Matthew's working methods changed on this, his first big Hollywood film?

I don't think so. He has got good taste and he casts well. You have seen the results. He has managed to change genre and nail it each time.
Matthew is not very nomadic and he has his team of people who fluctuate through his movies. Unfortunately I have done them all because I am always available - unlike everyone else who seem to be a little more selective. It is an amazing thing to be on a movie this big and look out from the stage and see the same sound boys from Lock, Stock and some of the costume people from Lock, Stock.
The truth is that I was cast so that when he was annoyed with this lot (Kevin Bacon, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy) and couldn't say anything he could turn to me and say 'Flemyng! You're an idiot'. That was my job, I took the abuse.

This film deals with the mutants struggle to accept themselves in a world that is hostile to those who are different. Is there anything about yourself that you have ever wanted to change?

Some of this film is about prejudice, about how people are perceived and about self-hate. I am one of the unknown minority of ginger haired people - actually as I have got older it has faded which is very depressing - and my wife told me when she was asked about me after we first got together she'd say 'he is ginger but he is really lovely'. I think that is a real indication of how people judge people without really realising they are doing it. And that is part of this story really.

What do you think would be the best/worst mutant powers to have?

We came up with Oystero, the power to top up your Oyster card. Or Alphabetico, an OCD mutant power. You look at your DVD collection and it would automatically arrange itself. They're pretty lame powers.

This has a 12A certificate. Do you think it is okay to take younger children to see it?

Stardust was a PG. That had some witches that had their heads cut off and that scared me. And I was in it! But I used to get scared by frogs.
Things that scare one kid don't scare another. My godson watched all of George Romero's zombie films when he was nine and wasn't disturbed by them at all.
It just depends on the kid. You can't really make that decision until he either bursts into tears and storms out of the cinema or says 'that was a great movie'.

Here's the first look at the BBC3's big new sci-fi show, Fades.

It's an apocalyptic chiller starring Iain De Caestecker (River City, Coronation Street) as Paul, a young man who is haunted by nightmares neither his therapist nor best friend, Mac, can provide answers for.

Worse still, Paul is starting to see the Fades - the spirits of the dead - all around him. They're everywhere but they can't be seen, smelled, heard or touched by living beings.

But now an embittered and vengeful Fade has found a way to break the barrier between the dead and the living and Paul, Mac and their friends and family are all right in the eye of the storm.

But the most terrifying twist is yet to come.

The fate of humanity rests in the hands of the two friends who already have enough trouble getting through a day in one piece, let alone saving the world.

Writer Jack Thorne says: "The Fades was born from a trip into executive producer Sue Hogg's office. She asked me what drama of the last ten years I wished I'd written.

"I said the American cable show Freaks & Geeks.

"I was wearing a Ghostbusters t-shirt at the time and she said: 'What about Freaks & Geeks meets Ghostbusters?'

"I smiled and nodded enthusiastically. But the further we've gone along, and it's been five years since that meeting, the more seriously we've taken the fantasy and the mythology.

"The comedy is subtler and a newer, fresher, hopefully more exciting show has emerged.

"I feel so lucky to be part of the team that's bringing it to the screen. Everyone from our location manager to our FX supervisor is so committed and we have an amazing cast.

"I'm quite literally in dreamland right now."

There'll be more news of the show at the forthcoming MCM Expo London Comic Con event taking place in London from May 27 to May 29.

Take a look at the MCM Buzz website for full details!

Priests, Pirates, Sorcerers and Superheroes : the Anorak City summer movie calendar

IT'S shaping up to be a hot summer, and we don't just mean the weather.

There's a host of big sci-fi and fantasy movies on the way. Here's your at a glance guide:

PRIEST (May 13):
Post-apocalyptic thriller set in an alternate world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. When the niece of warrior priest Paul Bettany is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, he breaks his sacred vows to venture out on a quest to save her, joined on his crusade by a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former priestess with magical fighting skills.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4 : ON STRANGER TIDES (May 20):
Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love or if she's just a con artist using him to find the Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard Blackbeard's ship, the scene's set for delightful piratical banter between Johhny Depp and Deadwood's Ian McShane.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (May 27):
This is how it all begins. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr became Professor X and Magneto, they were the best of friends, discovering their powers for the first time. James McEvoy and Bill Milner eventually fall out, sparking the conflict continued in such fine style by Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in the other X-Men movies.

This new shot of Adrianne Palicki is a little more encouraging than the god-awful promo shot from a couple of weeks ago.

It's taken from the filming of the new Wonder Woman TV pilot and shows they've tweaked the costume a bit. They're still keeping the 70s disco lycra though.

A new Wonder Woman TV show is in the works and here's the first picture of Adrianne Palicki as the Amazonian warrior.

This does not bode well as all. She's no Lynda Carter and the outfit looks like something you'd find at a sci-fi convention.

Just for comparison, here's the lovely Linda....
