James Kyson Lee: I miss Heroes cast

James Kyson Lee has revealed he is missing the Heroes cast.

The Korean-American actor, who played Hiro's sidekick Ando Masahashi in the sci-fi TV series, misses his co-stars following the show's axing after four seasons.

"After four seasons, we developed a great chemistry as a group and as a family so I miss them," he said.

James, who has also appeared in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, added: "I think everybody felt like we're on to something here and if we do it right and just keep it up and just make sure we keep high quality to the show, then we can really create a strong legacy and do something special."

Forgotten superheroes : Joe Simon and Jack Kirby

By day he's a millionaire playboy, often found with a lazy grin and a girl on his arm.

By night, he's a caped crusader battling supervillains.

He's not Batman.

Step forward The Black Owl, a superhero who graced the pages of Timely comics (later to become Marvel) way back in 1940.

Dreamed up by the dream team of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, who would later go on to unleash Captain America upon the Red Skull's Nazi hordes, the Black Owl was one of the pioneers.

Indeed, when Alan Moore was writing Watchmen, it's thought that the character helped inspire the self-doubting Night Owl.

Now, the Black Owl and a team of forgotten heroes is in action again, thanks to a sumptuous new volume from Titan Books.

Leaf through the pages of The Simon & Kirby Superheroes and you'll meet Stuntman, The Vagabond Prince, Captain 3-D, Fighting American, Private Strong and The Fly.

Many of the stories are re-appearing in their original glory for the first time in more than 60 years. As a bonus there are three tales that have never seen the light of day before.

So who's who in this Hall of Fame?

Heroes : loose ends to be tied up in TV special

IT'S a brave new world - and at last it seems we're going to see it.

When Heroes ended in February, the superhero series closed on a cliffhanger.

After the defeat of sinister Samuel, cheerleader Claire Bennet climbed to the top of a ferris wheel and prepared to throw herself off, revealing to the world that super-powered people walked amongst us.

We had a sneak preview of the next season and then... NOTHING.

NBC cancelled the show. After 77 episodes we were left as high and dry as our invulnerable heroine.

But now Heroes creator Tim Kring is in talks to tie up all those loose ends.

"We're talking about a two-hour TV movie to wrap it all up," he says.

"I would like to do it, and I think they would like to as well.

"Right now it's difficult for them to focus on anything other than the launching of their new shows.

"But the bottom line is that Heroes still has a huge audience around the world, and it's an extremely powerful brand.

"It's the only successful superhero franchise to ever launch outside the DC and Marvel universe.

"There are millions and millions of people who know what it is, and are fans of it.

"So it's a very powerful thing, and should not die."

If you've been starved of Heroes like we have, then you should check out the webisodes, which bulk up the backstory.

Hayden Panettiere says Scream fans can expect a twist

Hayden Panettiere has said filming Scream 4 has been "a blast".

The Heroes actress will star in the fourth instalment of the slasher franchise alongside old-timers Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox-Arquette, and David Arquette and is confident filmmaker Wes Craven will do the past films justice.

"For an audience that is so well-versed in Scream [films] and in what happens and who becomes the killer, it's trickier to throw them a curveball - I think they've done a really cool job with the script, [and] we've had a blast on it," she said.

FlashForward has been axed after just one series

Following FlashForward with eager anticipation every week?

Trying to unravel the mystery?

Don't bother.

Bosses at ABC have just pulled the plug on the show after just one series.

The show has suffered dwindling ratings for a while now, caused by hit and miss writing and a messy plot.

Hopes had been raised of a second season when it turned out that international sales for the programme were doing well.

But Entertainment Weekly has revealed the axe has swung on the show.

A pity: the premise to the show was interesting, but it never really got to go anywhere in the end.

The news comes just 24 hours after Heroes suffered the same fate. Other shows cancelled by ABC include Scrubs and Better Off Ted.

Heroes : series set to be axed by NBC

They've saved the world more than once.

They've rehabilitated Sylar.

They've defeated evil showman Samuel.

They've saved the cheerleader ...

But it seems Heroes cannot save themselves.

News from the States is that Heroes is increasingly looking likely to be cancelled because of ratings lower than a limbo bar.

The future of the series has yet to be officially announced by NBC but sources claim that it won't be renewed, even for a final series.

Instead, there'll be a television movie to tie-up loose ends.

And if that's starting to sound like what happened to Prison Break, that's 'cause it is!

It's yet another twist in the saga surrounding the future of Heroes.

There had been speculation that NBC might commission a short 13-episode final season but that now looks unlikely.

Heroes : series finale was such a letdown!

We wanted fireworks. We wanted the earth to move.

The showdown between Samuel and Peter should have been the highlight.

But in the end, it was just a damp squib.

Yes, I've just caught up with the end of the series on Sky+.

And I feel so, so let down.

The tension was building nicely (although I still don't accept Sylar as Good Samaritan all of a sudden), Noah and Claire were suffocating underground, Matt was being a pain in the backside as usual, Lauren was grimacing a lot and looking sorry for herself.

Then, the seventh cavalry arrived in the shape of drippy Tracey, a rejuvenated Hiro (although you couldn't say the same for wizened crone Charlie) and sugary Sylar.

Still, there was the battle royal to look forward to - until the scriptwriters decided to rob Samuel of his powers and all we were left with was a limp fistfight.

A one-sided fight, at that.

Will I tune in next season?

Well, the brave new world scenario has been tried before (and flopped in the ratings).

At least Samuel was still alive at the end, and - truth be told - it was Robert Knepper's turn as the sinister carnival showman that made the series compulsive viewing.

So let's have more, please.

He's signed up for Stargate Universe but it would be a mistake not to seek his services when Heroes returns.

And perhaps then we'll also discover ghastly Gretchen's secret.

Nobody could look, and act, so inffectually if it wasn't to hide great power.

First he was evil paedophile T-Bag in Prison Break.

Now Robert Knepper is joining the action in Stargate Universe.

If you're setting your box to record Heroes this Saturday, be careful.

Because the Beeb is playing catch-up, there's a DOUBLE episode this Saturday, March 20.

First up at 10.15pm is Episode 11: Thanksgiving

As Noah hosts a Thanksgiving dinner, an unexpected guest visits the Petrellis. Meanwhile, Lydia tries to discover the truth about one of the carnival's dark secrets.

But following at 11pm it will be Episode 12 : The Fifth Stage

Noah gets some unexpected visitors, while Claire arrives at the carnival as Samuel's plans to commit genocide progress. Elsewhere, Peter confronts Sylar and discovers that extreme measures are necessary to stop him.

If you're setting your Sky+ box or video recorder, be sure to catch both episodes!

Heroes : now it's better than Lost

Funny how things can change, eh?

Last season, Heroes was all but dead and buried - seemingly damaged beyond repair by poor storylines, wooden scripts and a loss of direction.

Lost, meanwhile, was starting to pick up again as the real battle between good and evil; finally kicked off.

Now it's the other way round.

The arrival of Robert Knepper, as sinister carny showman Samuel Sullivan has breathed new life into the show.

Best-known as sick psycho T-bag from Prison Break, he's made Heroes unmissable, despite a dodgy Oirish accent.

At the same time, the return of Claire Littleton as a poor man's Danielle Rousseau in Lost has been ludicrous, the acting terrible.

Add to that the duff Dogen, leader of The Others in the temple, and Lost is in real danger of turning into a bad joke.

Oh for the days of the light suddenly bursting from the hatch ...

Anyway, if you're also a fan of Robert Knepper, then you'll be amazed by just how many TV shows and movies he's appeared in.
