New drama from Lost writers coming to ABC

It has to be said that this - http://www.youtube.com/CastTheCurse - looks like it could be worth a look for a number of reasons.

Once upon a time there was an enchanted forest filled with all the classic characters we love. One day the evil queen placed a curse upon all of them. This is their story.

From the inventive minds of Lost executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis comes a bold new imagining of the world, where fairy tales and the modern-day are about to collide

What I do know is that the trailer is the most inventive use of You Tube I have seen and also includes a bit of black smoke and a rather blatant reference to the number 108!

Lost: Writers pen Once Upon A Time - new fantasy show starting soon

Lost writers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have penned a new fantasy series due to air in the US on ABC.

It's about a young son who believes his mother comes from an alternate world and is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming.

According to ABC Entertainment president Paul Lee: "Once Upon a Time is completely unlike Lost.

"But in some ways it's like Lost because it's about a group of people who are trapped."

While the new series will use flashbacks like Lost, those flashbacks will be of the fairytale world the characters come from.

Here's the trailer!

Sometimes when you trawl the internet it takes you to strange places and unlocks things in the vaults of your mind that you thought had gone forever.

That happened to me today when I stumbed upon a trailer for Hawk The Slayer - a cult film that was so bizarre and at times awful that it was actually brilliant.

Included in the cast of this 1980 film were Bernard Bresslaw, Jack Palance, Roy Kinnear and Mrs Victor Meldrew.

I loved this film, and finding this clip has inspired me to hunt it down again and relive those memories.

Here's the best bits in three minutes - allegedly.

More suprising to me was that the lead character Hawk was actually played by no other than John Terry - aka Christian Shepard of Lost fame... small world!

Dominic Monaghan: I knew Lost would be big

Dominic Monagahan has revealed that very early on he knew that Lost was going to be huge.

The star who played popular character Charlie Pace said:

"I had always thought it was going to be a big show. I remember talking to JJ (Abrams) about it and saying how there had never been anything like it on television before and I thought it would blow up.

"So it was not that big of a shock for me when it did. It had a great cast and crew and an exotic location and a story that had not been told too often so I always thought it was a slam dunk."

He also stated that he didn't feel that much a part of the show at the end:

"I made my peace with that show a long time ago. I died in season three and probably halfway through series four I was happy with the story I told on that show.

"Coming back was always a bonus so doing those last scenes in season six I did not feel particularly involved in the show any more. It was good to go back but I had said goodbye a long time ago. It finished at the right time, I think a show like that cannot drag on and needs to end in the correct way.

Lost : does the mystery continue in Alan Wake?

Just finished the Alan Wake computer game, a brilliant Stephen King-style psychological thriller with an ending that leaves more questions than the Lost finale.

But, and here's the rub, the forces of darkness in the game tend to manifest themselves in clouds of dark smoke that can hurl a man across a room.

Sound familiar, smoke monster fans?

Then there are the 'Taken' who are controlled by the dark force, in much the same manner as The Others in Anorak City's fave show.

But the killer is the video prequel to the game, produced in the form of six webisodes under the title Bright Falls.

Take a look at the opening of Episode 3, which seems strangely familiar....

Alien: Scott teams up with Lost's Lindelof for 'dark and nasty' prequel

Movie director Ridley Scott says the two-part Alien prequel he's set to shoot will explore the dark side of the franchise.

The two films will trace the origin of the killer Alien species, and pose the question: were they created as biological weapons?

"The film will be really tough, really dark." he says.

"It's the dark side of the moon. We're talking about gods and engineers - engineers of space.

"Were the Aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and cdlean up a planet?"

Scott is working with Lost producer Damon Lindelof on the script, so there's huge anticipation for his long-awaited return to the franchise he began.

It's being filmed in 3D and is set 30 years before the events of Alien, meaning that there's no place for Sigourney Weaver's Ripley.

Could we have just one, little, smoke monster, please?
