18 Months Old!

I was reading a friends post about how fast her baby was growing and how she wants to remember every little moment... I could not agree more with that statement. My days are filled with laughter, giggles, dancing, snuggling, funny faces and God's grace.

I want to remember these days, good and bad, because they are such a gift. God has blessed us with a healthy, sweet, and beautiful little girl. I wake up to a smiling face, walking into her room as she says," Hi Mom" to playing, lunch, snuggling up for naps, reading books, rocking her to sleep and praying with her... and the best part is I get to do it again the next day!

I feel so blessed to be Addison's momma and even though it was unexpected God knew how to get a hold of my heart.

Some of my favorite things I want to remember about Addison:

-You say "oh no" and "Uh-o" to everything

-She loves our dog Marlee and recently learned to say her name

-Our favorite show is Mickey Mouse Club House. When it is over she says "Oh No" and "bease" ( please) for another one

-She loves to be outside and would stay out all day if we would let her

-she has the cutest little grin when she knows she doing something wrong

-When I count 1..2..3.. for her to do something, she counts with me... You cant help but laugh!
-She loves to dance to music it is so cute! She shakes her hips and her head. Can not wait until she can take dance
-She loves to hold as many paci's in her hand as possible
-She is looking like a full fledged toddler... my sweet baby is getting so big
-she loves to read books... Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is our favorite right now
- LOVES her daddy and gets so excited when he gets home
-doing so much better in the car
- gets so excited when we pull up to Gigi and Pops house. When she walks in she yells Hi to everyone!
-loves my brothers new dog, Deke and tells him to sit and no no
-You are just so sweet and at such a fun age!

Things about Addison that are a little hard/challenging:

-She is not a very good eater. You are very picky! You like something one day and the next you wont touch it
- still working on sharing. I understand this will take a while because at home she has everything to herself.
-learning how to discipline you and whats the best method
-You throw everything
- You are very strong willed.

Even through all the challenging moments you such a blessing and I enjoy every minute of it!

BIG day!

Monday was a HUGE day in the Penzo house!

A few weeks ago my Grandma bought Addison a Potty chair for Christmas.

She was deathly afraid if it at 1st but lately she has loved sitting on it.

Monday we were hanging out around the house waiting to head over to Gigi and Pops to celebrate my Dad's birthday and Addison started making that face... Moms you know what I'm talking about. ha

I asked her if she wanted to go use the potty and surprisingly she told me yes!

After siting for a few minutes we had successes!

I was so proud of her and Addison was so excited!

Our little girl is growing up... but I am excited for the no diaper stage. :)

When we got over to Gigi and Pops house that night Gigi had a present waiting for Addi!

And to top it off she used the potty over at their house too!

We are so proud of you Addison!
This potty training journey has only begun but my goal is to have her potty trained by her 2nd birthday!

I am LOVING... Brent and I are reading the bible through together in a year and I have enjoyed it so much so far and learning so many new things!

I am LOVING... we booked our 1st family vacations to Florida in June! I am beyond excited for Brent to be going to the beach for the 1st time!

These are going to be Addison's Valentines for her friends!

Saturday night we went up to Rogers for a special treat....

Addison received a gift card for Christmas so we thought it would be fun to let her go use it

And...

She loved every minute!

.. Addison's has 2 in her bear because she had to have one for each hand...

Then we stuffed the bear. She loved stepping on the petal.

When it was done, we headed over to "give her a bath" and pick out her outfit!

She LOVES her bear!

It was so fun to watch how much fun she was having!

After we treated her with Chick-fil-a!

Happy Birthday Uncle Sam!

We had a fun but busy day today!

We meet up for play group this morning with one of our sweet friends, then headed to lunch to meet up with two more! It's always fun to get all the kids together... never a dull moment with 5 kids under the age of 3!

After shopping for a little bit and a nice long nap, we headed over to Gigi and Pops to celebrate Samuel's 15th Birthday!

I use to dance and fell in love with this hairspray!

It is the absolute best for your hair to really "freeze" and is perfect for recitals.

It is also good for everyday use and it is super cheap!

I keep everything in my planner and this one is perfect! It has everything and anything you could possibly need in a planner. I would highly recommend this one and if you watch the website they have $25 dollar coupons every once and a while!

Project 365.. week 2

My mom got A this chair for Christmas and she absolutely loves it! We sit in it every day to eat our snack and watch Mickey!

Addison's great-grandma made her new curtains for her room!

They turned out so cute and match perfect!

One of my favorite things about being a mom.... snuggling with this sweet girl at bedtime!

On a very very cold Thursday ( 20 degrees but felt like 6 .. brrr!) heading over to Gigi and Pops for dinner!

Brent's mom gave Addison's this blanket for her birthday and we never go to sleep with out it!

She loves to snuggle up in it!

Saturday, it was such a beautiful day, we headed to he park to play and made lots of new friends!

Right before church.. loving on Daddy!

Our church, Cross Church Fayetteville celebrated its one year opening today!

God has worked beyond belief this past year not only in the church but in Brent and I's life. We were able to share a little bit of our story on a video they showed to the church.

I can not thank God enough for all the changes he has made in our life! CCF has made our marriage stronger, loved on Addison, and we have meet some great new encouraging friends.

In this past year @ Cross Church Fayetteville we had:

340 professions of Faith

263 people baptized ( one of those being my husband)

584 New members

1,411 Average Attendance

Today, also marks 1 year since my Bobo, Addison's great grandpa went to be with the Lord.

Its a bittersweet day. I am so thankful to have know him as long as I did and for Bobo to have been able to meet Addison. I miss him so much but I know by God's grace he is in a much better place rejoicing with the lord- talking, walking, and is in no pain!

Please continue to keep my Nana, Dad, and siblings in your prayers.

One of my new friends, Ashley, posted about her favorite iphone apps recently and one of my favorites was Project 365.

You take a picture everyday with a comment and it post to a calendar!

I had friends do this on facebook with there kids last year, so I thought I would try and do it on my blog.

Its a great way to watch Addison grown over the next year and all the little things we have been up to!

I am a little behind but here is the 1st week of January some days maybe a little off because I was trying to remember what day went with what...this weeks will be much better with the days matching up! :)

Our 1st Hair Cut!

I thought it was about time for Addison's 1st hair cut... she was starting to get a mullet!

I could even put it in a mini ponytail.

Since it just needed a little trim, I thought I would just do it instead of taking her somewhere.

So, bath time rolled around and we got ready. I tried to act like I knew what I was doing, by getting it wet 1st...haha

After washing it and combing it out...

I did it... a little nervous to see how it would turn out..

but it looks so much better! I'm a little sad her sweet curls are gone but I saved them in her little keepsake box!

We officially have no mullet now!

New Years Eve!

New Years we traveled down to Little Rock to see my grandparents and family.

Addison did great on the trip down. We only had to stop once for her to walk around for a little while.

For Christmas, Brent's parents got her a TV for the car and it is GREAT! We watched Mickey Mouse the entire way!

That night we had a party at my Nana's house.

My mom and Nana made all kinds of yummy food!

Addison was so excited to be out of the car!

We were all over the house and so excited to see Gigi and Pop!

Mawma had not seen Addison since July.... They got along great! :)

After dinner we did presents. Brent loved his cowboys pillow pet!

My Nana got us a Christmas music box and Addison LOVED it!

We have played it over and over!

Addison-

17 months... I can't believe how fast it has gone. This past month you have grown a TON and learning so many new things! Dad and I really have to watch what we say around you- you repeat everything! Words we never thought were bad like dumb or stupid when we didn't have kids has totally changed in to naughty words. Haha

You are:

wear size 12 to 18 month clothing
size 4 diaper
size 4 shoe
your hair has grown a lot! I am going to have to cut it soon because we are starting to get a mullet in the back.
talking a ton. You say- mom, dad, Gigi, Pop, marlee, dog, bye bye, meow, woof, deak ( my brothers dog), go, ho ho ho, gabba gabba, mickey ( this sounds more like icky), oh no, yucky, cheese, please, thank you, yes ma'am, yes, and no ... I could keep going and going!!
Love to be outside!

still love bath time- You stay in there until your little hands are pruney and the water is cold
eating so much better! It is nice to make one meal at dinner time!
can count to 6!
drinking out of sippy cups a lot more

sleeping through the night ( you listen to lullabies every night to go to sleep)
doing great with bows- which is great because we have one for every outfit!
still love your pacifier but slowly taking it less during the day
take one nap a day- its about 2 to 2 1/2 hours! This is mom's time to get everything I can get done!

A big day!

Today we had a very big day...

1st-

we are officially moving off the bottle! YAY!

We have had the hardest time breaking Addison. Every sippy cup we have tried she has hated and will drink milk out of nothing but her bottle.

After her saying "bottle," we thought it was about time for us to really push it!

We found this today at target

We brought it home washed it and she drank an entire cup of milk!

I was sooo excited!

Hopefully, tomorrow she will do the same and we can go get a bunch more! :)

I also want to try this one. She took born free bottles and a friend told us it has the same feeling as her bottle! Now for the search.. I can not seem to find them anywhere!

2nd-

we bought a POTTY CHAIR!

Addison has been pulling on her diaper every time it is wet or dirty, so I thought why not just go ahead and try it but.... She is deathly afraid of it!

So we are going to work on it for the next couple of months and we will officially get it as long as we can get her to sit on the throne!! :)

The chair we bought, when the bottom gets wet it plays a little song. We thought it would make Addison like it better if we let her hear the music. Don't worry neither Brent or I used it! haha

We poured some water in the bottom of it... BAD IDEA!

Now the potty seat has become a toy. We want to poor water in it, hide our pacifiers, and all kinds of good stuff!

We will see how this journey goes :)

Our 2011

2011 was full of ups and downs!

But I am so thankful for all the many blessings God gave our family!

JANUARY

We started the year off rough with the loss of my sweet Grandfather, Bobo. He passed away January 15. We miss him so very much but I am so thankful he was able to meet Addison. He is now in no pain and celebrating every holiday and birthday with sweet Jesus!

FEBRUARY

I celebrated my birthday, my bridesmaids threw me a Bachelorette party, I took my bridal pictures after rescheduling about 3 times because of snow, finished up with our pre-marital counseling and got everything ready for the wedding!

MARCH

I married the man of my dreams on March 5! Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and being able to share it with Addison was even better! I can not thank God enough for unexpected blessings!

We also were able to take a couple of days to go to St. Louis for our Honeymoon. It may not have been the beach or a cruise but it was perfect! We got to spend time together and that was so important!

APRIL

We were just getting use to being married, living together and having a baby all at the same time.

We celebrated our 1st Easter- which Addison woke up that morning with a fever so we were not able to go to church or any of our plans that day. My mom had to remind me that this will probably happen often because I was beside myself! haha

MAY

I celebrated my 1st mothers day! It was such a special day. Addison was dedicated at church in front of my family. Something I will never forget!

Both Brent and I's brothers graduated from High school and my Grandmother, Mawma, started chemo after finding out she was diagnosed with cancer.

God also answered a huge prayer with Brent getting a new job at Tyson!

JUNE

We went on our 1st family vacation to Big Cedar in Branson and celebrated Brent's 1st Fathers day at the Tulsa Zoo! We made so many great memories!

JULY

We celebrated our 1st 4th of July and Addison HATED the fireworks!

July was a very special month. Brent was baptized on July 31st. I am so thankful to have such a amazing Godly leader for our family!

AUGUST

Addison turned ONE on Aug 2nd!

We had a big party for her on 7th!

I can not thank God enough for blessing Brent and I with her!

SEPTEMBER

I started a new job 2 days a week as a preschool teacher for 2 year old!

It is so much fun and keeps me on my toes!

OCTOBER

Was full of parties, parties, and more parties. This was a very busy month!

Halloween, our church put on a carnival so Addison attended as Snow white! :)

November

We celebrated our 1st Thanksgiving together!

DECEMBER

Lets just sum this one up with Celebrating Jesus birthday and Christmas with Family and Friends!

Our Christmas Day was so fun but so busy!

We started off with our Christmas gifts from Santa!

Addi was so excited!

We couldn't get her to get dressed or eat any breakfast.

We got around and went to church. It was so such a special service!

and Addison did great in the nursery!

When we got home we opened gifts...

cleaned up the huge mess we had...

took a nap and headed over to Gigi and Pops for lunch!

We had so much fun!

Addison loved all her presents and enjoyed seeing everyone!

After, we headed to Joey and Elizabeth's for Christmas at their house. Addison was running on about a 30 minute nap by now but was still trucking along. I think she was on gift over load!

We had such a great day with family and celebrating Jesus Birthday!

We unloaded the car and crashed.

Addison was so worn out she slept till 10:00 the next day!

Christmas Eve!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

I know we had a great 1st as a married couple!

We started the day off with baking cupcakes for Jesus's birthday.

My parents always did this with us when we were little, so I was so excited to continue on the tradition with Addison.

She loved helping us!

and of course had to get a quick taste!

Then the decorating began...

we sang "Happy Birthday", then Addi chowed down!

So special making new memories together.

That afternoon, we went to the candle light service at church. We let Addison sit with us and of course the only seats were on the front row, but she did great and really enjoyed the singing and story time.

We came home, ate dinner- some yummy appetizers, watched football, then...

....went to the square to see the lights! We have made this a tradition with Addison to take her to see the lights on Christmas Eve. She loves it!

When we got home we sprinkled our reindeer dust out in the yard..

and put out our milk and cupcake for Santa!

Addison didn't quite understand why she couldn't eat it!

Then we were off to bed to get ready for an exciting day of church, family and fun!

12 Days of Christmas!

This past week and half I have been doing the 12 days of Christmas for Brent. I found this idea on.. of course.. Pinterest and thought it was so cute!

Every day you write a little note and put candy, fruit or anything they like with it.

Addison loved giving Brent his everyday!

It was such a fun little daily reminder of how much Brent means to me!

( and he loved it as well:) )

Addison and I also worked on cute little name tags for our presents this week!

They turned out so cute and were so easy to make!

What you need:

4 Cups of Flour

1 cup of Salt

1 1/2 cups of Water

( this makes about 12 hand prints)

Directions:

1.Combine ingredients and knead dough for 5 to 10 minutes.

2.Roll dough out and cut around hand or cut circles out for making hand imprints.

3.Make a small hole for the hanger and prick to prevent air bubbles.

4.Bake at 300ºF about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.

( make sure you spray the cookie sheet with Pam or use a non-stick sheet)
