Last saturday my cousin Margaret invited me to go with them to Bislig to go to Tinuy-an Falls. I was very excited to go as it will be my second time to go there. The first was last 2006 with my best friend and a few other friends.

I remember how none of us have ever been there so we had to ask every few kilometers which way to go. It was really funny because when we first alighted from the van we saw a small yet wide falls and was very disappointed. This was the famous Tinuy-an falls that people were talking about? After all the traveling and the fear of stalled vehicle or worse, this is it? Then I saw at the right side of the mini falls a painted sign: Entrance. Please pay 10 pesos (or was it 5?). The mini falls was just a teaser after all.

That time I didn't have a camera of my own yet. This was the reason I was so excited to go there again.

On the day of the trip my cousin picked us up at Dunkin donuts at 5.30 in the morning. A normally 5 or more hours of travel, manang vicvic made it in 2 and a half. We made a quick stop over at my auntie's house at forest drive for breakfast, and to meet with our guide, Sonny.

The trip from the highway to the falls was as I remembered. The roads were rough, and it took awhile to reach the place. But didn't matter because the first time my companions saw the said mini falls they were ecstatic, especially manang vicvic. I thought to myself, just wait until you see the real falls. ;-)

According to wikipedia, Tinuy-an, a three tiered falls, is 55 meters high and 95 meters wide. And it said that every morning at 9 to 11 there's a rainbow over the falls.

Unfortunately we arrived at noon so we didn't get the chance to see that sight.

I couldn't get any closer to the falling water because of the strong mist that occurs as the water falls.

The best site for bathing and general horsing around is at the second level. There is a stairs made of concrete and steel leading there.

Actually there's a fourth level but its not quite visible from below.

I just came home from my trip from Bislig with my cousins Margaret, Suzette, Sandra and friend Hazel. I'm just so excited to share the videos with my fellow Caraganons so that they'll include Bislig as a part of their local travel trips.

I found my love of the trains and train stations when I went to Manila.

I wanted to take a more studied approach to doing this kind of photography, unfortunately the train was fast approaching and I was "late" for my appointment. It was, I think, quarter to six in the morning.

Pebble Beach in Full Color

Mabua Pebble Beach resort is a unique kind of beach experience. Instead of sand in the shore, you will be greeted with smooth stones instead. So this means that the water is crystal clear no matter how rumbunctious one gets in the water. I was lucky that the weather was opposite to the gray weather we had last time. The sunset was also something to behold. And most of all the people are friendly and always photography ready. =)

The Hidden Paradise In Butuan

... Bonbon Eco-Park and leisure park-- That's what they are promoting the newest resort in Butuan, and rightly so. It opened early this year to the public.

Without further ado, here are the photos I got from our picnic there.

Entrance fee: 100 per person.
Location: Brgy Bonbon, Butuan City

This is the view that will greet you when you arrive at the entrance of Bonbon Eco-Park.

After you pay for the entrance fee a jeep will take you further inside to the resort itself.

The road to Bonbon ecopark isn't as developed as one would hope. But is sure rewards the adventurous!

When its time to leave Carmen, my cousin and I rode the motorcycle until we reached the highway where we caught a jeepney that took us to Butuan. The rest of my family were on the car my other cousin brought. I took this opportunity to capture the daily life of Carmen. If you haven't been on a habal-habal then this is your chance to enjoy this ride with me.

Cagayan White Water Rafting

Cagayan de Oro City is a popular destination for the adventure nuts. The Cagayan river, the river where the rafting takes place is the border between Bukidnon and Cagayan. Aside from the thrill of the rapids, you can also appreciate the beauty of nature. You can see wild orchids, monkeys, and other wildlife.

The package we were on have 21 rapids, 14 of which were considered major ones. My uncle absolutely loved the water adventure and to think he admits to being afraid of any body of water.

Barobo White Island Adventure

My friend took this video at Barobo, Surigao del Sur. This is one of the stops we had during our Surigao del sur and Agusan del sur road trip last 2006.

We had a great time enjoying the pristine beaches and its raw almost untouched beauty. You will be delighted at how people at Barobo take care of their natural resources especially their bodies of water.

My Tartanilla Ride At Manila

My mama and I went to Manila last January. I only have my Kodak camera then. Maybe it was a good thing because I might've dislocated my trigger finger if I had a faster camera--- with flash.

I busted the flash last December taking a lot of photos nonstop. I've mellowed down some. Anyway, I have taken a lot of photos while we were playing the tourist at the Philippine's capital--- as we should. We were tourist! hehe I am almost always mistaken for a tourist here in my hometown how much more when I'm really one!

I don't have much to say about where we went because I'm really terrible with names, directions and places. All I can say is it was an experience to remember.

We caught the ride after our excursion at the Manila zoo.

Mama and I were really determined to get the most of our vacation (haha) there.

If you haven't ever ridden a caratela, or tartanilla or horse carriage before-- You have (almost) now. Without the heat and smoke that went with it. hehe
