Let's Make a Song - Part 1

2013-03-25T21:58:00.003-07:00

Hey. So, someone made a suggestion that I could record myself making a song on SunVox, which is what I did. I didn't have a firm idea of what I wanted to implement before I started, so it's kind of long and the ending song is a bit generic, but I think I'm satisfied with how it turned out in 40 minutes.

It could be improved in the future (which I might do in part 2), but hopefully it will prove helpful for viewers. You can also download the source SunVox file in the description of the video.

Excalation

2013-02-11T16:03:00.000-08:00

Song Name: Excalation
Artist Name: SolarLune / icesoldier / SandCO
Date Uploaded: 2/11/13
Genre: Electronic / Chiptune / Dance

Description: This is a remix that I made from a beat that icesoldier made on 8BitBrawl.com. 8-Bit Brawl is kind of like a chiptune-oriented 'remix forum' where you post beats or melodies that other people re-work into songs. It's pretty fun. I loaded Ice's remix into SunVox, and went from there. Feel free to remix this.

Hello. So, here's another tutorial for SunVox. This one talks about using the Sampler Offset effect to scale a sample to fit into your song.

It's also useful for changing the beat and style of a sample, and even allows you to control the speed that it plays while changing the pitch. It's very useful.

SunVox Beta 3 - New MetaModule

2012-08-30T11:24:00.003-07:00

Hello again! Sorry for not posting recently, but there's been a pretty important announcement. NightRadio has released another beta of SunVox, and this one has the awesome addition of the MetaModule.

What this does is allow users to create instrument or effects, or even SONGS, and package them up quickly and easily. You save them as SunVox project files, and then load them up inside of MetaModules to be used. You can even customize controllers to point to specific modules inside of the MetaModule. It's very, very useful.

Combine this with the ability to save modules as single SunSynth files, and it's a very useful, interesting way to share whole, complex instruments and effects. Download the beta today on the homepage!
