I had this little statcounter at the side of my old blog www.123noyam.blogspot.com
However, a few days ago I moved the blog to www.123noyam.wordpress.com
I’ve exported all of the blog posts to the new blog but I don’t really like having to start all over again with the new viewercount that I worked hard to get last year

You could figure out where it goes in wordpress.com and put it there manually. (I can’t help you further – in a standalone Wordpress installation it’s kept in the database. Where in the database depends on the plugin.)

I signed up for an account on wordpress and have two blogs. One I use as a typical blog, but the other I would like to customize for a professional Web site. The only thing I can find about how to change it talks of a downloaded wordpress. As far as I can remember, there was nothing I downloaded in order to get an account. So, if anyone can offer advice on how to turn a blog into a Web site, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I was a software consultant, implementing their Content Management System. They laid me off because they could not afford to pay me any more, but HR warned me that I cannot go and do any consulting on the software by myself for a whole year. So not only did they lay me off, they are also trying stop me earning a living for a whole year, which will cause me to lose my house and cause other financial hard ships.

Depends what it says. It seems odd that it would be phrased in a way that you would have to hold up your end of the agreement after they’ve terminated you.. but it’s possible. Have a lawyer review the thing to see if they think it would hold up.

Also, look into the penalties for breaking the agreement.. they might be worth it or they may be something you really want to avoid.

But anyways, you can get unemployment checks for the next year, while still being able to work about 20 hours at a part time job. Then you can devote your extra free time to developing some new skills, an internet business, or whatever.

does anyone kknow how to make there own blog online?

This is what I did:

Make a gmail account (or use one you already have). For instance, I created one in the name of the blog, queenandlazy@gmail.com.

Go to blogger.com. Sign in using your gmail account. Follow the directions (it’s easy I promise!!) to create your blog.

For now, choose an easy template to start out. Later, when you’re more comfortable with your blog, you can fool around, changing HTML and all that to customize it.

I recommend a test post, just so you can see how posting works. (Ex: here’s mine http://queenandlazy.blogspot.com/2009/08/testing.html)

With your gmail account, you will have created a profile, which you can edit from your dashboard (link found at the top of your blog home page)

After that, it’s all about becoming more familiar with your blog account and getting started on the writing.
