I was riding home from getting milk at the local farm, and this little dog, was in the middle of a busy road. She looked like she was lost and very scared. I pulled my truck over and went to see if I could read her tags, and a motorcycle came up from behind, the poor dog ran away from the motorcycle and down the road she was so frightened. I finally got her into the truck, and read the tags, and was trying to find the road she lived on. I pulled over to see if I could call the local police station to get directions, and a black car with a frantic looking man was going slowly on the adjacent street. I flagged him down and asked him if he lost a dog, and he said yes.

He was so thankful I that picked up Milk Bone, that was her name. He said his wife would have killed him if anything had happened to this dog. As it turned out the dog just got back from a Veterinary hospital, and they had spent $2000.00 on her. She still had the marks from the IV. He was so relieved. He thanked me again, and I drove off feeling pretty good.

I know I probably shouldn't have picked up what could have been a stray dog, and probably won't again, but I am glad I did just the same.

Academy For Flight Attendants

Ready for a change of career? Annabelle jumps off as usual, in a few minutes. Gracie heard something outside and went running to the window, barking. We figured it was someone going into the neighbor's house, and were not concerned. After a minute or two she was still barking so I decided to get out of my warm, comfortable bed and investigate.

Here I am kneeling down on my floor, looking out my bedroom window, with only my eyes showing, and listening very carefully for someone outside. I hear my husband laughing his head off, because Gracie is now in my nice warm bed, looking at me with her head tilted, probably wondering when I was going to start barking.

There was nothing out there, I figure it was just a ploy on Gracie's part to get my spot in bed.

Gracie the Guard Dog - Not

I kept hoping Gracie would be a watch dog, and she is. Every time someone walks in the house across the street she barks. Every time someone walks out of the house next door she barks. And if we were being attacked by song birds in the morning they would not dare come in my house.

Her personality is changing though. It is apparent how much she loves kids, and this is great, because I have three young grandchildren. We have to control the jumping, because she does not know her own strength, but she loves to play with them. She still antagonizes Annabelle, but she never hurts her, not on purpose anyway. Annabelle is more in control, and our home is beginning to get back to normal. This has taken 14 months, and is still a work in progress. We love her, but I would never get another Labrador, on the other hand I would never get rid of Gracie.

Labradors love people, and the more their people stay home with them and exercises them, and love them, the happier they are in my opinion. I guess this is true of all dogs.

Gracie Lost In The House

Gracie likes to play hide and seek. I know all her hiding places now. Over the weekend she got the chance to grab my bra and chewed it up and spit it out. My daughter was home, I was in the shower, and neither one of us knew she grabbed my underwear.

Well I heard my daughter going frantic looking for her outside and inside, and I knew she was in the house, I also knew she was probably behind the couch, which she was, with the bra, and a very guilty look.

To date she has destroyed 2 bras, and 2 pairs of panties. I lost count on nylons, however I have none at this time, because she ripped up my last pair, and I forgot to buy some at the drug store. She is now 14 months old, and still full of trouble.

Your Recieved Calls

If you are in need of an easier way to make your business work and up your marketing ideas and techniques then you have to check out Your Recieved Calls. It is a good feeling to see pets sleep. They are well feed, and comfortable. I wonder what they are dreaming about.

I went to a paint store this morning, and the owner had his dog there. He had a female, yellow Lab. I couldn't believe my eyes. This dog looked just like my Gracie. His dog was 11 years old, and I had a touch of sadness thinking that this is what awaits my Gracie, in such a short time.

On the other hand the dog was arthritis free, and except for age looked good. She was a good dog and the owner said she had been like that since she was a puppy. Labradors are people dogs, and very intelligent, if they are with their people they are usually happy. Gracie is happiest with my husband, she has me where she wants me, wrapped around her little paw.

Take A Look

I just love to look at nice jewelry and at Titanium Jewlery they have lovely womens as well as mens rings rings to choose from. My mom has a glider rocker and she has no babies anymore but she loves to have it and I do too when I go over and visit with the baby :)

Black Titanium

I have found that if you want really great titanium rings or titanium or tungsten mens wedding bands then you have to check out Titanium Jewelry because they have a fabulous selection or great priced and beautiful pieces of jewelry. I will watch it for sure, although I think I have the greatest American dog. Maybe it is Gracie, maybe Annabelle, maybe both I'll keep that a secret.

I have wanted for a long time to take the girls (Gracie and Annabelle) for walks together. I have been afraid to try, because Gracie is one year old, and Annabelle is nine years old. Today I tried them on different leashes, but together in my back yard. It worked out nicely. I won't try it on the sidewalks until I am sure I can handle the both of them.

Gracie listened to her commands, as though she was alone, even sitting and staying, while Annabelle was smelling around the yard. Annabelle is deaf, and never listened even when she could hear, so this will be a challenge, but if we can accomplish it, our morning walks should be enjoyable.

Dennis Carey

Today's job market, can be a very lonely, and disappointing place to be, if you are a professional looking for a work. You know you are capable of doing anything you put your mind to, that is why it is so aggravating to hear those 4 little words, "Sorry you are overqualified". I know my husband heard them many times. There is hope though, if you know the right recruiter. Dennis Carey specializes in the recruitment of CEO's and corporate directors. Dennis Carey is more than qualified for this assignment, as his credentials and degrees are impressive.

If you know you have what it takes for these high profile positions, Dennis Carey can help you achieve your goal. I enjoyed the site, and reading about this very interesting man. He currently serves as director of the Edgewater funds and Wharton"s Directors Institute, which he co-founded. In addition Dennis serves as director of Air Clic. If that isn't enough credentials he has published 3 books about high finance.

The site was good reading, and interesting.

Baby Bedding and Supplies

When you are looking for that baby furniture and then the crib bedding that goes along with it you do not just want to go anywhere to get these items. I went to walmart when I had my first child thinking that I would save money and get just as good as a product...not the case. After just 6 months of using the changing table I got it was falling apart. I mean..when I first got the changing table and had to put it together it wasn't all that great and it is not like I didn't know how to put it together - I did as good a job as anyone but the quality of this changing table stunk. So basically I didn't save anything and actually spent more because I had to go out and get a new one. This one was a quality one that lasted and is still holding up strong. So do not cheap out on the baby furniture because you will not save in the long run.

Simple Yet Elegant

If you are looking for great quality and affordable tungsten rings then you have to check out Titanium Jewelry. They have very unique rings that are colored or have even colors in them or you can go with the more traditional simple yet elegant sort of bands. And you can have them engraved as well. I really wish that I would have had my wedding band engraved but I didn't. I guess there is always that anniversary band to get engraved. Which reminds me that my grandparents are having their 60th anniversary in a few months. That is a big one so I am thinking that we should probably do something special for them.

Someone At My Door

The doorbell rang this morning. Gracie knew before it rang there was someone at the door, I didn't. It was the post lady. She sat quietly on my porch and waited for me to put Gracie in "jail" her crate, and Annabelle behind closed doors.

The woman delivering the mail has two dogs herself, and her sister, who lives behind her has three dogs. She told me there are usually 5 dogs in the backyard.

She, like many, are not afraid of Labradors or Retrievers in general. I feel my dog would never bite, but she could push someone down. She opens my screen doors, so I always have to remember to lock them. Well the good thing is that I had my exercise this morning, getting the dogs in check.

Dog Days Of Summer Are Here

Did you every wonder why the hottest days of summer are referred to as the "dog days of summer"? I thought it would be awful this week, as it is so hot and humid the dogs must stay in most of the day. To my surprise, they are very happy staying inside in the cool air conditioning.

Gracie is very happy to sleep on my bed, and Annabelle enjoys sleeping on the cool kitchen floor. No running after the ball for Gracie. I did sit outside in the shade with them for about a half hour this afternoon, but they and I were ready to go inside after the half hour. Now they sleep, and look very contented.

Gracie Is On Vacation

Gracie, my 1 year old, Yellow Lab, is on vacation from obedience training school. Amazingly she has not been for lessons in 3 weeks. I have only done the obedience with her twice, and she has not forgotten anything. She has even done better, as she wasn't on a leash last time, she was however in my fenced in yard.

Since I bought the training device this past week, she has not dug, and I can control her barking with sound only. She is a very smart dog, and learns very quickly. Annabelle, my 9 year old Cocker Spaniel, and I are a lot happier, since she has this collar on. She wears it outside, and first thing in the morning.

Pet Safe Remote Trainer

Today is Independence Day, not really that is tomorrow, but for me it is July 3rd, because I purchased a PetSafe Remote Trainer for Gracie, my 1 year old Yellow Lab. I should have done this 6 months ago.

She learns very fast, and it is 8:30 AM and no problems. It has the option of sound or shock. It has different levels, and so far she has responded to the sound. I do not want to use the shock, but if she bites me in the butt one more time I will. This is something she does for fun after I remove anything from her mouth. She doesn't hurt or rip my clothes, but she does get the last "word" - NO More! This cost $158.00, at PetSmart, and is worth every penny. I could have gotten it less on line, but after Monday's episode I couldn't wait another day.

I am finally Alpha Dog
