			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Another summer’s nearing its end, leading to a new season and new reasons to stay fit! I keep hoping that our “Indian summer” will hit, giving us at least SOME of that sunshine we count on here (am I bitter about our wintry summer? You bet!). But, I see the fall colours coming out, the Halloween candy and costumes, and (shiver) even Christmas decorations at Costco. So with all that coming along in the not-so-far future, let alone ski season for many of you snow bunnies, perhaps you’ll finally find the incentive to start getting fit!</p>
<p>I’m sure a lot of you have worked hard to get into shape for the summer months a.k.a. swimsuit season. But now that summer’s over, you’re thinking you can stop working out right? WRONG! Being in shape and feeling healthy is very rewarding, so it is important to stick with your fitness routine and continue looking great! But even more importantly than looking great, think about your body’s performance…. be it on the golf course, the dance floor, on your bike, on the slopes, or lifting your 3-year old over your shoulders, you can’t afford to slouch off now.</p>
<p>Muscle doesn’t just keep on growing while you play – there is something called “atrophy”, where if you don’t work to build muscle, you lose it. Even just three weeks without working out, we lower the weights for our clients – and after the age of 30, it’s even more important to keep up with your strength training. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hello and welcome to the SuperSlow Zone® at Silver Creek. Are you tired of those April showers yet, and hoping to enjoy the flowers (and, hopefully, sun!!!) of May? I know I am! More than any other massively overused expression about seasons and change and all that stuff, this one really seems to sum up what SuperSlow® — and really the entire SuperSlow® fitness system – is all about. It’s about patience. But in a very good way. Because they’re also about a lot less patience than you might be used to.</p>
<p>An explanation is obviously in order here…so here goes. The “April Showers” phrase implies that while there may be some rough times in April, spent enduring something you might not like, by May, you’ll start to see rewards. Which is exactly how the SuperSlow® system works, especially if you’re starting it right now, in April!</p>
<p>Now, contrast this with most typical exercise and fitness plans, where “April Showers” might not result in any actual flowers until at least June, or maybe even July. Welcome to February – 28 (and every 4 years, 29!) seemingly endless days of long nights, grey skies and chilly temperatures. I know, I know, “we need the rain”….but, seriously, when that sun comes out, don’t you just want to get out and, well, get ACTIVE?!</p>
<p>If you’re like most of America, you’ve probably been piling on the sweaters and jackets and wondering if you’ll ever bare your arms or legs outside again. And the results of all that overindulgence can be a little scary.  Surveys say the average American gains a whopping seven pounds during the holiday season!   I&#8217;m determined not to let that happen &#8211; and not just by limiting what I put into my mouth&#8230;.After all, I lost 15 lbs. this year, and want to be able to show it off!</p>
