Passing the Baton … Interested in Getting Involved at the Park?

Hello Supera Park fans. It is getting warm again and the park will once again be in full swing.

On another note, it has been great fun being involved with Supera Park through the renovation and beyond. Given our involvement with school and other activities, Michelle and I will be taking a more passive role at the park moving forward. We would love someone to take over, or at a minimum, take the lead on event planning.

If you are interested in getting involved or know someone who would love to step in and take the lead, please pass this post along or let us know. You can use the contact form or just comment on this post. It would be great to see the park activities continue.

Elmo at Supera Park Halloween Party 2010

Thanks to all those who attended the 2010 Supera Park Halloween Party! We hope everyone had a great time and fun Halloween weekend.

A special thanks to Wrightwood Neighbors Association for sponsoring and Chicago Costume for providing characters.

We are always looking for volunteers to help out at the park so let us know if interested in getting involved.

So, I just got off the phone with Elmo and his agents. He has a packed schedule this time of year, but once he learned the event was for Supera Park’s Halloween event this Saturday morning he was all in. So again, the details…

Where: Supera Park (Lill and Racine)
Date: Saturday, October 30, 2010
Time: 10:30AM – Till about 12:00pm..ish

We will have face painting, a magician, a nice witch, balloon art, CANDY, and now ELMO as well.

We look forward to seeing you and your little ones at the park this weekend!

Hold the date and spread the word as we are having a Halloween Party at Supera Park. We will have face painting, a magician, a nice witch, balloon art, and of course CANDY! Elmo may even make an appearance. Kids (and adults) are encouraged to wear their costumes.

Great Performance by Karen Banks-Lubicz at Supera Park

Karen Banks-Lubicz Performs at Supera park

Despite the overcast weather, all in attendance (even the passers-by walking along Racine) thoroughly enjoyed a great performance by Karen Banks-Lubicz at Supera Park this past Saturday morning. Nothing like live music to brighten the day and liven up the neighborhood! A great turnout and fun had by all.

Thanks to both Wrightwood Neighbors Association for sponsoring the event and our local Starbucks at Wrightwood and Racine for providing the coffee.

Stay tuned for our summer event to be held the morning of August 14.

New officers of Supera Playlot Advisory Council

Hi! Happy Holidays!

Sheila and I would like to thank all of you for the wonderful experience we’ve had as the officers of the Supera Playlot Advisory Council. After four years, we’ve decided to step down and let someone else take over. Jeff and Michelle Kerr have been active participants on our committee and have agreed to take the roles of advisory council president and vice president. I have given Jeff a summary of what we’ve done to organize our park events (Halloween party, Easter party and summer concert). He is planning on continuing these traditions, as well as acting as the contact point for the park district on ongoing needs for Supera Park.
