These photographs by Bill Yates just blew my mind. A friend just forwarded this link to these amazing photographs of the Sweetheart Roller Skating rink in Florida. Great story about how these incredible images made on a Mamiya C330 stayed in a box for more than 30 years. See them yourself at the New Orleans Ogden Museum of Southern Art opening October 3.

Dia Art Dog

I have been making daily updates to my ever expanding photoshelter archive. Some of my favorite new photographs to share are of our rescue dog Dia. We adopted Dia in January from the nice people at DFW Rescue Me. At first she was very skittish and shy around new people and other dogs. She has become a calming companion and new best friend, not to mention stunning super model. Meet Dia!

I am excited to announce the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth purchased three of my photographs from my Marfa, Texas series for their permanent collection. The show Framing Desire: Photography and Video also includes photographers I greatly admire: Misty Keasler, Catherine Opie, Robert Mappelthorpe, Nicholas Nixon, Rineke Dijkstra , Laurie Simmons and Ryan McGinley, among others. The show, which was curated by Andrea Karnes, will be up through August 23, 2015.

I've been scanning old family photos quiet a bit lately. This one charmed me. I am guessing this cat loving, stylish woman is a friend of my grandmother's. I love the neat lawn and the off centeredness of this snap. I am guessing it was made sometime in the early 30s in St. Louis. #savefamilyphotos
