Haven't made a post for a while now, just wanted to inform you all about the Spring showcase coming up for MIA. We (Superfly Films) have made some kickin 3-D films to put in it so you should buy the glasses ($1) and check it out.

Backlight Film Festival

Superfly competed in the Backlight film festival with 3 films. The films that were submitted are:
"Absconder"
"Reset"
and
" Grim: A Reapers Story"

Absconder received praise but unfortunately no awards.
"Grim: A Reapers Story" won the

"Best Dramatic Short"

Best of all "Reset" won the
"Best of the Fest"
awarded by the judges.
Garrett was not present so David and I had to receive the awards without our colleague.

We look forward to competing next year and we hope that all of you will be able to join the experience.

Alright, not that any of you would care, but there are 3 new videos up in the members area that you should see. Actually, there happens to be about 2 hours worth of Superfly footage in there that you haven't tapped into, so if you want to see them you should request in account for the members area by fill out this form. There are also awesome features in the members area, but right now, your missing out. So go. Now. right NOW. or later, whatever. But you're missing out.

Alright, well once again Superfly Films is dishing out some new stuff. A members section was added to the homepage so nowyou can sign up for your own account and join the fun in the members ection where there are features such as live chat, photo album, forum, web journal, guestbook,guestmap, exclusive mailing list and more all you have to do is sign up for an account by going here! You can choose a username and password and then your in! Also, when new videos are realesed members will have access to them 2 weeks before they are in the rest of the site, so go and sign up now!

End of the year means lots of films

Hey this is Garrett making a superfly Post for the 1st time. With the school year coming to an end we have a few more films to post. For those who are in Hockhalters class, we decided to film our scene for Romeo and Juliet. It is the 1st scene of Act 3 in which Romeo and Tybalt face off. We modernized the script and setting and gave it a classic rock score. We're finishing it up to turn in Tuesday and it should be posted soon after. We had to make photo albums in Spanish about our life, I decided to make a film will also soon post that project too.
Even though next year seems far away, the Superfly team is already planning projects for the next year. It will be the 1st year that the team is all in the same class, MIA Focus. Some of the projects planned are a Western that I will be directing either for my junior project or just for focus. I'm also writing a Thriller that is to star Jacob Gellman (who is also in are Romeo and Juliet film). David is starting to plan his junior project that is to involve creating equipment for the MIA department (like cranes and dolly's) that I am already planning to incorporate into projects I'm writing over the summer.
Last but not least David and Jason filmed a concert by the Rambling Jacks at VSAA a few weeks ago and are in the process of making a promo video for them. For those not familiar with them it is Chris McKinney and Andy Blieler's band. Hopefully they will finish that before the end of the year and we will post that too.

So, as promised, we have some new videos up. One of them is "Grim: The Reapers Story" and the other is a trailer for our upcoming zombie film. You can find them in the "new" section of the film archive and "Grim" is located on the homepage under the "Most Recent Film" link. So there you have it, two new films!

Watch them and fill out the "Feedback Form" to let us know what you think!

New Features

The Superfly site now has a few new features. For one you can now use the handy Hiring Form which will allow you to fill out a simple painless application if you have any video work you want done. Another new thing is the Application Form which allows you to submit ideas and gives you a chance to be in or help with our next film, of course you could always just email us. There is also a new homepage layout. I would add that you could take advantage of the new News Center section, but if you're getting this, than you obviousley don't need it. In development there is a page about all of our upcoming filming dates. One of our upcoming gigs is a promotional video fo "The Ramblin' Jacks" at VSAA in the Black Box Theatre. which will happen either thursday or friday of next week. For those of you that don't knwo them, they are a band with the members of Andy Blieler, Chris McKinney, and Jason Phelps So if you wish, you may come. It will be pretty cool. Right now, I am working on getting three films onto the Superfly Site and as I have said, I will notify you when they are up. Till then, stay classy.

So, as we have stated before, we have a few new films coming out. Now i'm here to update you on when and where. Tonight we just had a viewing of the Grim film at our schools showcase (with a few technical errors, but it will be fixed prior to posting on our website) So that was neat, we also showed our "La Caja De Pandora" Film tonight. Also, we included a special trailer that no one was informed about which is our upcoming zombie film. So that's what happened today.
Now, as for the upcoming films, the untitled homeless boy movie is to be released late may or early June (Any date prior to June 16th) and the upcoming one called "Crash" is planned to be released around the same time (though this date may change) Ay any rate, you will benotified when the Zombie trail and the finished Grim film are available on our website.

New Upcoming Films

Superfly Films has a list of upcoming films. After many complaints and a few phone calls we have decided to move forward and finish up the remainder of the film "Grim: The Reapers Story" Garrett and I (David) did most of the filming last saturday (April 22nd) There are only a few shots left, so you can look forward to that around the second week in may.

Another Film you should be looking forward to is a film that has had no trailers made yet (or name for that matter) The film is about a homeless boy and throughout the film he's trying to find his place in the world. That should be coming out around the same time as the Grim film.

You should feel spoiled because also upcoming there will be a film called "Crash" I don't want to give anything away about that one, but it should be awesome. So there you have it, some new films to look forward too! (Oh, and yes, soon there will be a new spanish film for those of you who asked) However that is still in the script process (or, not even that far yet) so look for those!
