My Journey to Reacquiring my Philippine Citizenship

There is no place like home as they said, and most of the time it is absolutely correct. Depending on the childhood you have in your life, most people would want to settle back in their hometown no matter how far their achievements are. As for me, I could not say that now, it may take years or so depending on how the economy change, but I consideration of being a snowbird. This means I want to stay longer in one place without thinking about overstaying at all.

At first, I never intend to reacquire my former citizenship, not because I don’t like the Philippines, in fact, I love to be there for 90% of my life. I am content with what I already have, I love the USA too. Both countries I am part of have histories, and making more memorable days to cherish life and family. I have the opportunity to apply without any hassle at all. Aside from that, my siblings and I have a business corporation that I wanted to stay longer than 1 year without thinking about the possibility of overstaying, so why not re-acquire that citizenship.

Last 2021, my sister and I went back to the Philippines, and yes we did experience the whole Covid19 protocol in order to get to our final destination, the Philippines. I was totally stressed out just to gather all the necessary papers work and to be knowledgeable enough to know most of the changes, during that time. One thing that I was worried about is that I am no longer a Filipino Citizen, what could possibly get wrong? For my part, I have all these questions and the only thing I could satisfy myself with is to research further.

Part of that sudden visit is our father’s passing, heartbroken but we need to accept things and move on, sooner or later when it’s our time to depart this earth it will happen. The only thing we need to do is to make sure that their or our legacy will continue and so that’s where I finally decided to reacquire my Filipino Citizenship.

The office of the Philippine Consulate here in New York State is located in New York City. From my residence to get there, it would take us 6 hours, plus the traffic that you will experience once you are in New York City. And that’s something I am avoiding, since my application isn’t really in a rush I decided to go seek an outreach program during the Summer time. And they always perform this program during Spring-Summer time. And that’s where I found the nearest place they will have it in Rochester New York. Oh, not to mention here in that place is where I also pledge my oath-taking to become a US Citizen.

Getting the information I needed to do isn’t that stressful and complicated at all. I spoke to a few friends who have already gone through this path and it seems to me that the process is way too easy and quick. I went directly to the website of the Philippine Consulate and gather all the requirements and forms needed. At first, the place of the event hasn’t been started yet, so somewhere in Rochester NY is the area. In, the first week of May 2022, they finally indicated the venue of the Outreach Program and it was at the Recreational Center, Rochester NY.

We arrived at the location 40 minutes before the time and so my family and I waited for a little while. And since I requested an appointment 7 days before the date, the minute I step foot in that area, I was placed with the next person in line. It was pretty quick. I thought at first I have to go through all these dealings, but my impression was wrong. I have to pause here…

Rewinding, before I was outside the Recreational Center of Rochester NY. I make sure that I sent an email to the newyorkpcg.consularoutreach@dfa.gov.ph at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled Consular Outreach. The schedule of the Outreach was May 21, 2022, and I sent them an email on May 13^th, 2022, Friday. I got a response Monday afternoon, May 16^th, stating my 3Pm appointment. Everything stated in the email of what needs to bring and the instruction as well. So make sure you read it carefully and follow what the email says. As per observation, while I was at the place processing my requirement, there were at least 2 people denied to continue their dual application because they didn’t bring the necessary requirements stated on the website. They will not be going to proceed and they stopped them there. I hope they’re from that area; it is a waste of time to travel that far, (like me) and not be able to do it.

Anyways, I have brought with me the original copies and 2 photocopies of the requirements too. As well as 2 copies of the Dual Citizenship and 4 2x2 white background photos.

The following are the basic requirements for principal applicants:

1. Duly Accomplished Dual Citizenship Application Forms

2. US Naturalization Certificate (If this is not available, the applicant must obtain a certification from the US Citizenship and Immigrant Services (USCIS) indicating that the applicant has obtained US Citizenship, including date of naturalization and Certificate number)

3. Philippine Statistics Authority or National Statistics Office (PSA) Birth Certificate

4. Latest Philippine Passport (if available)

5. PSA Marriage Certificate or Report of Marriage for married women.

6. Death Certificate is required if a widow

7. Divorce Decree or PSA Marriage Certificate with Annotation on Divorce (required for an applicant who has previous marriages or divorced)

8. Valid US Passport

9. Applicant’s Photos (bring four (4) colored 2″x 2″ photos, with plain white background. Applicant must not be wearing eyeglasses)

For dependent children:

1. PSA Birth Certificate / US Birth Certificate

2. Latest Philippine Passport (if available)

3. US Naturalization Certificate

4. US Passport

5. Child’s Photos (3 photos)

Make sure to have them with you during your appointment and everything will be smooth, I did. After the payment of $60.00, I reviewed the document and signed it. By the way, don’t get a pre-paid envelope unless you intend to renew or get your passport. I have no clue so I purchased one and now I don’t know what to do with this pre-paid envelope. I can’t return it to the post office.

Moreover, after 20 minutes of waiting, they all gathered the rest of the dual citizenship applicants in the area we started with our oath-taking. The official had given us our Certificates and the Identification Paper. There were more than 15 people in that batch, we pledge the oath and sang the Philippine National Anthem. It feels like I am back in my first country again. Like having a flashback of my childhood memories during my youth days while we sang our National Anthem during our Flag Ceremony.

Anyways, the best part of everything after reacquiring my citizenship is that I have all the privileges of both countries now. I can travel without having any problems in both countries and so is my family. I can stay as much as I can in both countries, without the worry of overstaying, and for the most part, I get to spend enough time in both countries.

Oh, after you reacquire your Filipino Citizenship, you are not required to get a Philippine passport, which is only optional. You have your certificate to show them that you are dual. They don’t have any more copies of the certificates, so it is our responsibility that we have to take good care of this document. However, the Consul mentioned that you can make copies of the document and make sure it is being notarized; anyone who notarized would be able to do it. Just to make sure you’ll show them the original copy and that the notarized photocopy is acceptable.

From the time I was inside the Center up to the last thing I spent inside it only took me less than an hour for the whole process. I am very happy that I have this done. This journey of reacquiring my Filipino Citizenship is over.

Now, I will continue to create more memories with my family in other things.

The Independence Day is fast approaching, and this year’s celebration would totally be different from the normal and usual ways we celebrate it. We know for sure that a mass gathering is prohibited in most states due to the Pandemic that we are still experiencing. And we all know that it will take some time for this virus to even go away and would not harm many lives in the future. In order to prohibit this virus from spreading we tend to stay at home, cancel, and postponed big gatherings and we need to make sure there is a social distancing in a possible way.

One of the country’s memorable Holidays is Independence Day for there is a Huge History of this celebration. And of course, by that, one of the traditions of celebrating Independence Day is putting up our flags on our premises. We would always want to make sure to put up our American Flag to symbolize our support and honor that this day has come.

I don’t like to acquire a cheap material if I purchased a Flag. So I tend to look for the quality that would last for a longer period of time. So, searching online is quite overwhelming, since most of the stores are currently not opening. Browsing online is also tricky because you can’t really see the Flag itself so you have to rely on the pictures as well as the material indicated. And if you don’t have a reliable website it is another thing to think, and trusting them about the quality of the flag that you are about to purchase is good.

Since I still have enough time to buy one, I found a nice website that sells American Flags in any shape and variety.

Last Week of School Year 2019-2020

Today marks the last week for the school year 2019-2020. It’s a very odd way to end the school year for the students, faculty, staff, and administrations in each States, from the normal and usual ways they ended the year. There are so many activities that were canceled, may be postponed (not really sure of what’s going on) due to the CoVid-19 Pandemic and this will also mark in the history of the world as well as recorded in the book of the generation. This year 2020 has not a very good year for the whole world, there are so many things happened and still happening. After the Pandemic, there is a movement or a protest rally for rights in other states or I say most states. I have not really seen one here in my area though. I figured, I luckily live in a place that doesn’t have so many protesters and no violence happening, and we wanted it that way. We can always find justice in a peaceful way for those victims, without creating more trouble.

But I am not here to discuss that, I am here to discuss my stances about the unusual closing of the School Year 2020.

I bet it is totally different from some students to not see their teachers, classmates to end the year without the normal routine they’ve been doing. I have received and read my 4^th Grader’s last week assignment as well as received my UPK packets for the whole week.

Based from my 4^th Grader and Pre-K students, I have asked them how they feel about this year’s class ending.

From a 4^th Grader: nothing really, and he likes the remote learning too.

From a UPK: no comment, and would like to be homeschooled.

As for cafeteria staff, I would miss those students who eat breakfast that I won’t be able to see for the next School Year. Sad to not tell these individual “Congratulations” and sore high wishes, because we won’t be back to this year again.

And for the packed meals, we will continue to provide packed meals for the students until June 26. However, the paycheck will have a bit changes after the 12^th of June (this month).

I am not sure if we will continue to prepare these meals, depends on what our Governor Cuomo decides and order. But if that happens, I signed up for working every Tuesday only. I love the crew; we do work fast and efficiently.

Frewsburg Pack Meals for the Kids…

We got a phone call last Sunday of March 15, 2020, about the BIG changes that are going to happen for the rest of the school year 2019-2020. Globally, the Pandemic arises and our country would like to prevent the certain spreading of the CoVid-19 Virus increasing like a wildfire.

After that phone call from the parents through the school, my co-workers received a phone call from the Superintendent. This message is only for employees and what we need to do. Monday the next day, we (cafeteria) came to see our supervisor for further notice/information about the changes.

To help out with those people who don’t have enough meals for their kids during the school year, the school decided to continue serving them meals, ALL Frewsburg Students. Then, later on, it changes to all kids who are now being given meals every day.

At first, we came certain hours and worked on a certain time we should be working every day. As for me, since I only worked 3 hours every day, I get to leave early. Then, they still noticed there were still a lot of employees on the campus, and we practiced social distancing too. Mind you, you really can’t exercise Social Distancing when there are more than 10 people works in the cafeteria and kitchen.

From there, they have given us another schedule in which there will only be 9 staff working for the meals. And limited our days to come to school, the current plan is to prepared 3 meals for each kid, meaning 3-breakfast and 3 lunches in 1 big bag. So, kids can come to the designated places only twice a week, and as for us (workers), it will be a limited time of exposure to others.

I get so paranoid with this Pandemic, that whenever I get out of the house. Yet, I tried not to be stressful about what is happening in the world, as I have 2 small boys to attend too.

Oh yeah, about them too, well… we told them what is happening in the world. That there is a Pandemic of CoVid-19 Virus going on and that staying at home is the safest thing we need to do, in order not to get sick and not to get harm with others.

Our oldest might understood our explanation but our 5 years old might or might not be. However, we always ensure that we told them what is happening so they would know.

They seem to understand and be very cooperative with us. They do their school work on time because we tell them that doing so would give them an extra activity to do. We let them play their games for an hour as long as they are ALL done with school work. And we are happy that they comply too.

Moreover, when is this going to be over and back to normal? We can’t tell, unless everyone has to be participative of what our Government needs us to do temporarily.

I do hope you are all well in our own home and stay healthy and active. More time with our family and children and our selves, more time to pray and to spend time with God. Maybe all these things happen for a big reason because God knows what’s ahead of everything.

THE FIRST VISIT TO OISHEI BUFFALO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

It was Wednesday morning when we have an appointment to Oishei Buffalo Children’s Hospital for our son’s CTA imaging. An hour and a half trip from our home, we have to come all the way here, because of the Pediatric Doctor that we are seeing for his mouth is located in Buffalo, NY. Tests and other medical check-ups should be located in the designated hospital.

We have never been to this hospital, and this would be our first time to visit the building. I have an instruction on where to locate the place too so it would be easier and faster for us to get things done going.

We are getting ready for the long drive, and I will get back once we are done our errand for the day.

We left the house around 10 minutes before 9am to make sure that we will have enough time to be at the Hospital, between 2 stops along the way, we figured it gives us extra time before our appointment. We have an 11am appointment needs to be that early because our patience does not allow eating 4 hours before the CTA imaging. We figured, since it is too early in the morning, he won’t be hungry that much.

We found the place, of course, we are wandering around in the huge parking building to get to the other building. And just about 10 minutes after the appointed time, we arrived at the Admission where we register to get things going.

Have done the paper works and less than 30 minutes we are out of the hospital and heading home. And the next appointment, we know exactly where to go and it should be earlier this time.

No results about the scan yet, and from there I am waiting for the Doctor’s office to call me if our patience needs to be seen before his other scan appointment happens.

Different plots in the same City that we always go yet seems to be very interesting to get there safe and sound.

First post on year 2020

Happy new year everyone, it’s been day 7^th of the year 2020 in January as my first post has started. I have been in a hiatus on this blog for quite some time now and there will be a long list to begin. And I don’t know where to start.

While writing this post, I have a plan on giving my best on keeping this first blog of mine. If you knew me before, I have started to create more than just one blog. I started to manage and keep every blog updated. But, recently due to lack of time to keep everything updated, along with the daily life I have, I could no longer keep them all. And so I have decided to let the other 3 blogs lost its Domain on purpose. Things have changed, and now I am back to the original blog, where all begun and will be concentrating on this one, for now.

Where to begin… I guess I have to give you a quick review over the past few years, months or days in my life. Looking back to my last post was last year of September about the fun days we have during my visit to The Philippines, along with my family and in-laws.

I worked for my friend’s online jewelry business, was her all-around staff, then I got focused on my couponing in which saves me a lot of money and enjoy getting things for FREE or way too cheap you can believe at all. I sell online with my items now and work for my friend still. Lately, along with the mentioned sidelines, I took a part-time job in the High School nearby. Oh, not to mention my boys are growing fast, I don’t want to miss anything at all. I’m sure I didn’t elaborate pretty much everything, but I hope I have given you an idea.

We all do have a crazy busy life and random routinely daily activity. Hence, sometimes we just wanted to choose to sit down, watch a show/movie to relax and not to think of anything for a little while, right? For me, I manage everything and I’m thankful for that, though I admit that there are times, life gives me trials in which is also a good thing, as it helps me build up to become stronger in solving the problems. I become something I wanted, I have a purpose in life.

And now that I have finally written something here, I have to make sure that I troubleshoot my computer’s antivirus first before proceeding. The best luck with this.

After hours of troubleshooting, I finally decided to reset my PC for a change; it is been years since the last time I have it cleaned. Not that I have put so many files and all, yes I did but I deleted most of it. To be sure that no more complicated system errors, the best and quickest way are to reset the computer. I backed up my files and partitioned my hard drive, that way when doing a decision like this, it is easier to have the drive with the operating system just to be wiped out and redo the whole thing.

I hope that I will be able to continue my blogging again, not making full of promises but wanting to be back again just to give insights about what I have learned in life.

Island Hopping 2017with the In-Laws…

This would be our second time to go on an Island Hopping at Samar Island in Davao City. I’m static as this time everyone who hasn’t come along last 2007 finally has the chance to come and join.

Anyways, it was after the wedding when everyone gets ready for an hour and a half drive to Davao City. Of course, everyone is very tired of the Big Event (our Renewal), however, we have to geared up to be able to be at our destination on time. We already paid half part of the fee, so we need to make sure that we spent most of our time in the boat to visit these islands and to explore.

Called mother dear and through her, everyone back home is set. Everyone’s up and we headed our way. It was a fun road trip, shows what Filipino’s life behind all those beautiful spots and sceneries as we passed them by. And every country has own sad side which is “poverty”. Nevertheless, that didn’t affect us, as that’s what life is all about.

After all, those traffic and mini stopover, we finally arrived in our target, we need to finish some registrations as it is mandated to register all names in the logbook and walk towards the boat. Along with my in-laws, they were the spotlight of everyone’s eyes. I’m sure they will be fine in Davao as it’s the safest City in the Philippines; however, we didn’t rely on it and make sure that they feel secure.

Walked towards the big boat in which everyone is amazed, we didn’t know that it was that big for everyone. I don’t think there were 30 or more of us riding. The whole family is complete along with each immediate family.

I’m very confident with the WIND AND WAVE DAVAO; so far they never seem to fail me. They have packages and island hopping prices online if in any case, you wanted to plan for a trip.

We tried to get parasailing services that day, unfortunately, since we went during the weekend the parasailing services and the scuba diving were fully booked that day. If I should have known, I should have told them before when I was on the phone with them that we will get these services. And so, everyone was thwarted of not being able to do it. Scuba Diving I think they said something about being there earlier than expected because of some simple and quick training someone needs to do. Again, we don’t want to miss everything so we passed those services and just proceeded with the Island hopping the entire day.

It was indeed a long day, stopped by most of the islands in the itinerary we did boodle fight (not the kind that you’re hurting each other, it’s another term of eating together with all the food laid on a banana leaf).

Everyone in the boat enjoyed the tour, amazed and creates more memories to cherish. And we did lots of swimming that most of us were very tired afterward.

When we have a chance to go visit the Philippines again, we will definitely going to do Island Hopping again.

The Application

Last month, I have checked the Frewsburg Central School here in our county to just see if a job that I like is currently available. Without any hindrance, there it was posted. It’s like someone has telling me to, “Go on, apply for that position”, it isn’t serious. Just a try to see if the school will call me or not at least I tried, all this thinking about the hiring position.

It isn’t in line with the previous work I experienced, but it is something way different from it too. The Food Service Helper is something new to me, something I would like to try, and oh! The fun of being at the cash register is finally happening, that is IF I will continue my application and get hired.

So, without hesitation I completed the online application and submitted it to the school. After couple of days, in which I didn’t expect to get a phone call from them, they actually did call and scheduled me for an interview.

This happens 2 weeks before my birth month, after that I have THE JOB. It is a FOOD SERVICE HELPER; basically I am the Breakfast Lady. I get the chance to create my own menu, provided they have the supplies to make for breakfast. Sounds exciting, as I get to hold the register/cashier too, in which I have always wanted to try it. Since I was a little girl, I would like to do register to see and hear those beeps, I know sounds not too complicated huh, but that’s what I would like to try and through this job, I get to do it.

After the last interview with the Superintendent of the Department, I get to start the job a week they hired me. Yes, I need to make sure that someone has to help me out with my sons while I’m at school and be home by 9am.

Luckily, my supportive husband and I figured it out with my niece’s help as well as my sister. Pretty exciting to work by myself early in the morning and be done when almost everyone just started.

Two days before the wedding, I wasn’t a stress as most brides are. Thought I have this thinking, however, I’m confident that everything goes well planned and smooth. The night before the big day, we were just at the hotel resting for the next day.

Dined-out elsewhere with Kuya Rito and Ate Lynlyn, went to a place (I don’t remember that name) got a few drinks and stayed a little bit late.

Morning comes, and everyone is getting ready. I have no clue that I have to feed my makeup crew, the photographer crew and all. It was not in the budget, but I still ended up buying their meals. It was not a big of a deal provided that I have an idea about this other things.

Anyways, everyone is busy… cleaning up themselves, getting ready, and wearing the dress they have for that day. The makeup screw was also busy with the bridesmaid, groomsmen, and to all the major sponsors.

I was calm with everything, makeup, pictorial and all. I just want this day to be memorable. There were bad choices too, but I would rather not have it stated here instead.

At the Church, everything seems to be perfect, we have pictures taken. However one thing that I never have taken is with our children and my parents. It was already being chaotic during that scene as everyone is getting busy preparing to leave the church. Oh yeah!! It is not cool to make things rush, because someone has to use the Church in that certain time.

At the Reception, it was at Venue 88.. The place was magnificent. Just what I expected, I love it. The Decoration and arrangement is something I would say they are giving their customer a highly satisfaction.

One thing, I never like about the place is their hotel. YES! It is free 1 night complimentary stay, but my review is VERY POOR. I found lots of ants in the wall, the toilet water is broke (someone has to come and fixed it and it was during y day) the curtains are dirty, walls are even dirty. I mean, how they can have this opened and let some VIP people stayed when their rooms are not cleaned.

I took some pictures to make sure that it is taken care of, at least for the next person who will pay to stay in that room.

The Mass is brilliant, the photos are amazing, and everyone seems to be very happy and excited. Reception is memorable, have both my parents gave their word of advice as well as my mother’s words through her famous way of doing it is my singing to us.

The night ended up with full of smiles and excitement. We did all have a great job, though there are some flaws along the way, still it didn’t hinders me to frown at least one minute during our Special Day.

For everyone who has been there, who helped and make a part of our Special Day, you know who you are, and you will truly appreciate. Thank you very much.

Pre-Nuptial Photo shoots…

It went well… though we have the hectic schedule for the whole day; it turned out to be perfect. Our amazing photographer is very nice and cool, at the same time very understanding and patient. My husband and I were very thankful for him and his crew for the patients and for putting up with our schedule. In which, every photographer should be.

The first plot that we picked, that we wanted to shoot just closed by the time we arrived. No matter how and what we do, they never let us in.

The photographer decided to just find a different spot. He drove along the highway, to find an empty place where there are trees behind and after a mile of driving he found a perfect spot.

There should be more than just one outfit, but I decided to just end it and as the sun goes down it was not the perfect lightning to get a great photo.

I never liked acting at all, while doing the photo shoot; I got this awkward feeling in my stomach wishing it was already over.

After a not so long photo shoot, we wrapped it up.

It’s been a year….

In a few hours from now, my youngest son, my sister and her son are all flying to an International flight to the Philippines. This kind of vacation is the soonest that I’ve ever gone. I normally planned of going for a long vacation in the Philippines for about 3-4 years from the last time that we visit, because I have to save money for the fare, I have to make sure that when I also come home. I have the money to use. It would be awesome to have a save money to wander around and visit places that I’ve never been visited before, and it would also be fun if you have money to buy and do stuffs.

But this year is different from the previous years I planned. The excitement of me coming home to see my parents has changed. I’m thrilled to be with my Papa and spend time with my siblings but the feeling of emptiness and missing someone that you really wish to see when you get home is beyond absurd.

Things will never be the same anymore, no matter what I do, whenever I come home there will always be someone who is missing. Yet, sooner or later things will never be like it used too, but I’m still grateful that in spite of everything, I will have one Parent to look forward too.

It’s been a year already?! Yes, without thinking that time flies so fast, it will be a year tomorrow since we have our Church Wedding in front of our beloved. It’s a renewal of our vows and this time, with the sealed of GOD, honored by a Priest, my whole Family and relatives as well as my husband’s family together in one day. It is perfect! I don’t need a very expensive wedding, though I wish I could, but I would prefer to have it more fun, memorable and everyone will never ever forget that day. And I am very VERY happy that everyone is there to witness our renewals.

It’s funny that I have already written a blog about after one year, yet I haven’t been sharing about the past memories. Maybe I’m holding back into something that until now, which I tried, I’m still in denial. Something I am not sure to look forward too, the day that I feared the most. What is it? It will be in my next blog. But for now, I just like to mention it here about it….

Is not easier than you think.....

Wedding preparation is not as easy as we think it is. Also it depends on how mysterious or simple your Day would be to remember. I choose mine to be simple yet elegant. I don’t need to spend too much over something as long as the memory remains about the wedding is what I thought the first time, I planned our 9 years.

The date we wanted is never going to happen, because our Civil Wedding Date was September and we need to be back in the U.S.A before that due to the upcoming school. Also, I need to attend to my niece’s schooling application so she will be able to get into the school without repeating Junior High School.

Anyways, I have already gathered the requirements, my Mother and our Family Friend assisted as well to submit them and to be able for me to get a chance to have a Couples Seminar and Confession with the Priest.

All I need to do when I went to the convent is to sign and submit as well as to finalize the date and of course they need fees for these transactions. The Sponsors are all set; thanks to my Mother’s Friend list and newly found friends everything was all smooth.

I make sure to have a reception that would cater the exclusive counts I wanted for our wedding. Yes! I don’t like to have a very huge crowd as well. I want it simple, memorable and elegant. While confirming the entire list in my entourage and my major Sponsors I was also busy preparing my own Wedding Invitation.

I have all equipment ready and picked in the US and all I need to do is to print the final list and to decorate a little. Everything is set, from the Venue, to the Time of the Event up to the distribution of the Wedding Invitations. I have prepared it less stress. Of course, I’m grateful for the help of my family to make it even quicker.

Mother’s Day without your Mother on Earth

Losing someone, or saying your Goodbyes are the hardest thing to do as always, especially, when it is your Mother. No matter how are we going to say and take it, still it is so heavy to carry in our hearts. We are hurting, to accept that fact that our Mama Lilia will no longer (in flesh) be with us. However, we have faith that someday we will see each other again.

The day that our Mama Lilia bid goodbye, was the hardest thing my family and I had. There are so many questions we need an answers. Things we could have done. Dreams planned with her, were all gone when that day came. Things were so fast, even she could not say her goodbye.

Now occasions like Mother’s Day is so hard to accept, she is no longer here. And there will be no Mother or Mama my siblings and I will greet or call to tell her how much we truly love her. To remind her how grateful we are of the love, caring and sacrifices she did for us, so we would not be able to experience the poor life she did while growing up.

I guess, heaven probably needs more Mother than us. After the time we spent together and after that last kiss she gave me. I’m not content with the time we spent together, but I presume to accept that reality.

It is very hard to loss a Mother. Mama Inday will never be replaced in our hearts and will never be forgotten, however her legacy will continue.

This Sunday will be Mother’s Day. Please, please do not take for granted to go see your Mother, Mom, Nanay, Ina or Mama. Whatever you call the first woman in your life. Treasure the moments you have with her, forgive and spend more time and create more new memories.

For one day, when her time is up and we don’t know if we are ready to accept that day or not. You will miss her. And maybe that time, when she is ready to leave because she knew that her children will be fine without here. You will tell yourself that even though it is not enough, you did your BEST to be with her. To show to her the love she needs to feel before letting go.

I have to stop writing this article because I could not stop my tears from falling while remembering all the things I can share with my Mama Lily.

Opening the Balikbayan Boxes

Before we arrived in Gensan for our 2 months vacation, the 3 boxes that I have shipped before were already been sitting there for at least months. I’m glad they didn’t opened it yet as I need to figured out who things belongs too.

Of course, they seat on it or put stuff on top of it, but it is fine because I see no damage nor tear in the box that would trigger the rats or insects to stay and eat the items that was in it.

It was very nice to see that the box inspite of the fact that it doesn’t look as brand new due to that lifting and stocking, it is fully intact and no tear or whatsoever. I wrapped the boxes with tape as much as I can to prevent from getting wet as well. That’s the best thing to do. For something that would travel for 2 months and a half and to ensure that all your stuff is not broken, or opened or damage. We need to make sure the way we packed our stuff as well.

It was fun to opened the boxes, I make sure that every single one of the family, friends and relatives will be able to received gift from my family. They even have more than expected.

I am not sure if I was able to grabbed a quick photo of what the boxes looked like before we opened it. I choose the day and time when there was less people in the house so it wouldn’t be too much chaotic.

Warning: If you put glass into your box, please make sure that you have it wrapped with some bubble wrap or clothes. You don’t want to end up just like what I experienced.

Other than that, my experience and the joy to see every single one of my family is inevitable. The joy to give and to share my blessings to others.
