Gone are the days when rape was an offence committed occasionally, by an individual against a woman in a fit of passion. Today rape has become an epidemic, committed by a gang, accompanied by a depraved and beastly brutalisation of the victim, as in the recent gangrape in a bus.
Such incidents have terrorized women, and traumatized parents. Hence it is tantamount to terrorism as per UN definition by which “terrorism is the act by violence to overawe innocent civilians to do or not to do something against their will.

Therefore without delay the Prime Minister must get an Ordinance issued to make rape a terrorism offence with either death or Bobbit cut as sentence." - Dr. Subramanian Swamy

Throw Any Legal Notice On Behalf of Any Chidambaram Clan In The Waste Paper Basket!

The threat of a defamation case issued yesterday by company officials on behalf of Mr. Karti Chidambaram with regard to my allegation of his involvement in the 2G Spectrum Scam is laughable. I would welcome an opportunity to cross-examine Mr. Karti Chidambaram in the court of law which will save me the trouble of approaching the Special 2G Spectrum court for filing a fresh private complaint.

In the meantime I demand that the mother and son due of Ms Nalini Chidambaram and Karti Chidambaram to explain the number of trips they have made to Malaysia during 2005-2007, and whether the CEO or any other official of Maxis received them and put them in hotels.

I once again demand that Mr. Chidambaram should be asked to immediately resign because no fair and free investigation can take place as long as he continues to be the Home Minister.

I have issued instruction to my offices in Delhi and Chennai to throw any Legal Notice on behalf of any Chidambaram clan to throw it in the waste paper basket. The clan must go instead and file a case in court. Then I can cross examine the Chidambarams who are neck deep in corruption.

Media should stop taking MHA handouts and print wrong information that Karthi has already sued me. No such luck.

Hidden Facts of Kerala Fishermen's killing Case

The facts surrounding the wanton killing by Italian snipers abroad on Italian Tanker ship of two innocent Kerala fishermen requires firm action by the Government of India especially in view of the fact that the UPA Chairperson Ms.Sonia Gandhi is of Italian origin and is actively seeking to meddle in this case through the PMO’s Mr. Pullok Chatterjee, currently Secretary to the Prime Minister.
I therefore demand that the Government of India take a firm line with the Italian Government on the question of diplomatic immunity now that the Italian Government has made that absurd claim. Wanton murder does not entitle any country diplomatic immunity at the investigation and charge sheeting stage.
This is the occasion when the Prime Minister must assert the true sovereignty of the nation especially because the firing took place just 11 kilometers of the coast of Kerala on eleven fishermen in a small fishing boat, nine of whom were visibly asleep. It has to be determined whether the Italian snipers who killed two of the innocent fishermen were at that time drunk and treating the poor fishermen as target practice for that firing. We should no more allow repeat of what happened in Purulia arms drop case when the Government abjectly surrendered to the British Government. Modern India is not mentally any more a captive of the Whites of Europe. It is time such firm signal was sent to Europe.

It is surprising that Vatican has decided to intervene with the Indian Government to obtain the release of the two officers of the Italian Navy who were aboard the so-called Italian tanker and murder suspects in killing of two fishermen off the Kerala coast. These two officers are presently in custody in the guest house of the CISF Commandant, dining on wine and Italian food from a nearby five star hotel. They are in custody because they wantonly, recklessly and unprovoked fired on unarmed fishermen on the spurious plea that they were frightened that the fishermen may be pirates, thereby causing loss of life and great agony, pain and distress to the deceased fishermen’s families.

However, where is the need for the Vatican to interfere in the internal affairs of Indian judiciary system? There is not even a fig leaf of a religious question because the fishermen who were killed were also Christians.

Hence I demand that the Government of India inform the Vatican to mind its own business. But if they still insist on interference, to snap diplomatic relations with the Vatican and close down their Embassy in Delhi.

At 6.20 pm, he came to the mike, cleared his throat a little, and greeted everyone who had arrived. He started off by telling that India is the youngest country in the world, demographically. A la Vijayakanth in Ramana, he unleashed some statistics - the average age of an Indian is 28, where 70% of the population is less than the age of 35. The average age of the Chinese is 37, Americans - 38, Europeans - 48 & the Japanese - 49. He said that it is the young generation which leads to innovations & underlined the need for good education of the youth for a corruption-free society.

He started off & chugged along in full-steam on the topic of the day - the 2G scam. he said that it was THE BIGGEST SCAM IN THE WORLD - COMING WITH A LOSS OF 40 BILLION $ ..OR 1,76,000 CRORE...

He started off his first OH-SO-BRILLIANT STATEMENT OF THE DAY -
SOME PEOPLE CANNOT COUNT BEYOND ZERO, LIKE KAPIL SIBAL..:D :D :D ...This instantly got the crowd ROARING with laughter !!! :D WOW !!!!!!!! THE SWAMY SHOW HAD BEGUN, BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D ...AND IN WHAT STYLE !!!!!! :D :D ....WOW !!! WHAT A ROCKING START !!!!! :D ...I was always waiting for this kinda treat ...and here it was !!!!!! An absolute spicy kabab of a starter was here !!!!!!!! :D

He went on to say that the indirect losses are even more. Out of 1,76,000 crore, 60,000 crore constitutes the bribe amount. He said that it was distributed among 4 principal parties:

1. Raja, who ended up receiving only 5000 crore.

2. Chidambaram, who also ended up with 5000 crore: Dr.Swamy said that this was just like pocket money for Chidambaram (huge laughter in the crowd), who, according to him, has around 50,000 crore stashed in foreign bank accounts. He said - "One day, I'll get it all back", which evinced a ROARING,THUNDERING applause from the crowd.

3. Karunanidhi, who received around 14,000 crore: Dr. Swamy said "He should've got a little more because he has 3 wives to take care of" :D :D :D :D :D ROFLMAO !!!!!!!! Man !!! The crowd laughed themselves out for at least 20 sec !!!! HAHAHA !!! HILARIOUS !! :D :D
BANGALORE WAS USED TO THE GAYLE STORM ALL THESE DAYS !! BUT THEN, IT WAS THE SWAMY STORM ...BELTING OUT HILARIOUS ONE-LINERS ..ONE AFTER THE OTHER ..FASTER THAN GAYLE LAUNCHING SIXES !!!!
4. Sonia Gandhi, who received the remaining 36,000 crore: Dr.Swamy said she was "generous" enough to share it among her 2 sisters.

He said - "I say all this because I have the information...If I were the director of CBI, I could've caught all of them at the same time...". But he wasn't, so he said he was taking matters up one at a time...

He went on to say that corruption was not just about a minister taking money or one giving money to get his passport quicker...He said that it had HUGE, ADVERSE effects which he would explain later....He cited the example of Greece, Egypt and how they were on the downfall because of corruption...

He went back to the history of India, 500 years ago...where we were called as the most honest country...People like Vasco Da Gama, Mark Twain who wrote that they have never seen more honest people than Indian Hindus...(HUGE & proud applause by the crowd)...people who never used to lock their homes while going on a vacation ...He said that India is now ranked 90th when it comes to honesty ...New Zealand holds the 1st rank ....I did not note the rankings of US & China properly ..I may be wrong ..but yeah...I think he said that they were somewhere around 19 & 78 respectively...

He said that before any scams, there was already as much as 1.4 trillion $ or 70,00,000 crore stashed in foreign bank accounts like the ones in Swiss, Macau etc ...There was some disturbance in the crowd at 6.30 pm..people silenced the noise-makers ..Dr.Swamy continued ...

He explained how Swiss banks work...with the 2% service charge...the investment in the American Stock Exchange...& how 60% of Swiss earnings comes from no work at all..due to black money...He added that if that money is back, Indians don't have to pay taxes for the next 10 years at least ...110 universities can be opened....THERE WAS A HUGE ROARING APPLAUSE from the audience !!!

"There has been a lot of loose talk on corruption", he continued...He said "The Congress party has a person by name Digvijay Singh" ...THE CROWD WAS INSTANTLY IN SPLITS... EVEN A STAND-UP COMEDIAN WON'T BE ABLE TO MATCH THE REPUTATION WHICH DIGVIJAY SINGH HAS CREATED FOR HIMSELF ...DR.SWAMY HADN'T EVEN STARTED THE JOKE !!!! JUST THE VERY MENTION OF THE NAME EVOKED SUCH LAUGHTER !! :D ...He said - "SOME PEOPLE CALL HIM PIGVIJAY SINGH" ...THE LAUGHTER HIT THE ROOF ...AS DID THE APPLAUSE :D :D ....He said - "Digvijay Singh can immediately recognize black money when he sees black money" :D :D :D...

He then talked about the CORE ISSUE of corruption as such, which was - MISUSE OF PUBLIC OFFICE FOR PRIVATE GAIN ...The applause from the Digvijay Singh joke had almost died down ..but no, it was back to peak decibel level again :) :) He went on to explain that according to the Prevention of Corruption Act, more than taking money, just the very misuse of position is enough for a person to be charged ...which is what Dr.Swamy has done to Chidambaram ..He said -" I'll anyway prove later that he took cash" (faint laughter)..

He went on to explain how Raja & Chidambaram were guilty ...He said that the then cabinet decision was that the Spectrum would be decided by 2 ministers - Raja & Chidambaram...He said - "There are, thankfully, still a very large number of Indians who are ready to be honest" & thanked them, for it was from them that he got to know that Chidambaram had 4 meetings with Raja telling him how to manipulate the spectrum prices ...Though the minutes of the meeting were erased ..Dr.Swamy said - "I chased one of the persons and got the records" ..There was a HUGE THUNDEROUS ROARING APPLAUSE :) :) :) ...One person from the audience said - "You are a great man!"...Everyone who attended the talk will agree that the man echoed all their sentiments with that line :)...

The applause hadn't completely died down...It only hit the roof again when Dr.Swamy said - "In Raja's note, he has mentioned - I didn't know how to sell ..Chidambaram only taught me how to sell" ...:D :D ...MAN !!!!!! DR.SWAMY SEEMED UNSTOPPABLE !!!!!!!! :) :) :) RAGING, RAMPAGING, DESTRUCTIVE FORM !!!!!!!! :) :) :) He said - "I've got a separate question for the trail court also..."...someone interrupted to ask him a question ..he said - "wait for question time"...

Then came ONE OF THE BEST MOMENTS OF THE SHOW ....

"I went and asked the Prime Minister ...Do you know what 2G is ??"
He said "yeah ..Sonia G & Rahul G"
HAHAHAHAHAHA !!! :D :D :D ...ROFLMAX !!! :D :D :D ...The crowd didn't stop laughing for 30 sec at least !!! :D :D ...LOLLLLLLLLLL !! :D :D

He said that the PM failed to act on this..despite 5 letters from Dr.Swamy ...He than saluted the judiciary of India ...& saluted Dr.B.R.Ambedkar for crafting an awesome constitution ...which has a rule that - "IF THE GOVT. DOESN'T PERFORM A DUTY ...THE COURT CAN GIVE A CITIZEN THE RIGHT TO DO THE DUTY" ...A MASSIVE APPLAUSE FOLLOWED ...
He explained that the govt. failed to prosecute anyone ..So Swamy asked the court to grant him permission to prosecute the guilty himself...and it was granted !!!

He said that Maran is about to go to jail ...Chidambaram will soon be going ...THEN CAME THE BEST MOMENT OF THE WHOLE SHOW ...THE FUNNIEST, THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT ...Dr.Swamy said that he got a message from the superintendent of Tihar Jail - "Please don't send so many Madrasis...They are asking for Masala Dosa ..my cook is not able to make those dishes" ...OHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAANNNNNNNN !!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D
THE APPLAUSE, THE HOWLS ..THE SCREAMS...SHATTERED THE ROOF ...AND TOUCHED THE SKY !!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D ....DR.SWAMY HAD TO WAIT AT LEAST 30 SEC ...TO CONTINUE SAYING "I told him to get ready to make pizza & ravioli " ...HAHAHAHAHA !!!!!! :D :D ...THE APPLAUSE WHICH ALREADY TOUCHED THE SKY ...PROBABLY TOUCHED THE MOON !!!!!!!! :D :D :D ...HAHAHA...I STILL CAN'T STOP LAUGHING !!!!!!!!!! He went back to 1947 ...when India was not so corrupt...He said that it was the adoption of the Soviet Model, which was the biggest disaster ..and is responsible for all the corruption which is happening ...He narrated how someone praised the Soviet Model to him in 1991 - "Soviet Union is this ..Soviet Union is that..blah blah"
Dr.Swamy: "Do you know there's no Soviet Union anymore??"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D MANNNNNNN !!! Seriously, once Dr.Swamy restores India's glory & wants to unwind a little, he should consider writing the dialogues for Rajni's movies !!!!!! IT WILL BE A PERFECT COMBO !!!!!!!!!!!!! NO ONE GIVES ONE-LINERS BETTER THAN DR.SWAMY !!! :) :) :)

At 6.46 pm, he began talking about the effects of corruption ...The economic impact ...where inferior people get all the licenses ...he cited the example of a road being given to inferior hands ...only for it to get destroyed by the rains ...Adulteration, inferior products ..all a part of corruption ...

He said - while a part of the money remains in India, the other part goes abroad ...& he explained how Chidambaram manipulated the stock market by the policy of a "participatory note"...How Mauritius was one of the best & key places involved ...How the black money has affected the middle class the most ...& ruined it for them ....He asked - "Can I get a decent apartment for 25 lakh in Bangalore??"
"NOOOO WAYYYY!!", came a unanimous reply from the crowd ...
"All because of black money!", he said..."Even bathrooms have A/C ...So the demand for luxurious goods shoots up...70% of investment goes into luxurious goods !!! No one wants to make anything for the common man anymore..."

He went on to say how proudly Pranab Mukherjee talked about 8% growth rate...when it was 9% last year ..He then said a very funny thing - "I'm a professor of Economics at Harvard ...I teach my students that an increase in growth rate leads to a decrease in inflation ...But in India, both are increasing !! They're really making me forget what economics is !!!" :D :D :D ...Roaring laughter from the crowd yet again !! :D :D LOL !! :D ...he also mentioned how Chidambaram & Sharad Pawar are involved in forward trading ...

He then went on to explain the effect of corruption on national security ...because most ministers are blackmailed by terrorists in Pakistan...& how Chidambaram allowed selling of licenses for blacklisted companies ..(one of which was a front organization for the ISI )...He said that the court has reserved its orders ...to cancel all the licenses given by Chidambaram & Raja ...CLAP !! CLAP !! CLAP !!!! :) :)

He then went on to his views on the EVM & demanded that the EVM compulsorily give a receipt of the vote ...because according to the Information Technology Act, it is mandatory for computerized operations to produce receipts ...CLAP !! CLAP !!! :) :) ..He said that by Dec 14th, the Election Commission has to come out with a convincing explanation of how EVM's can be loophole-free, else the court would rule into effect once again, the ballot system...

He said that he saw the EVMs being produced by BEL Bangalore, with micro-controllers made in Japan ...He spoke to the Japanese people in-charge only to hear "Are you mad?? We don't use these in Japan itself ...We have the ballot system!!" ..which lead to laughs & applauses all around :) :) ...Really! What do you say for such things?! Do you laugh or feel sorry about the pathetic state of affairs in the country?! He finally said that Venezuela, Nigeria & India are the only 3 "GREAT" DEMOCRACIES WHICH ARE USING THE EVM'S ...Also, he said that in the 2009 elections, the Congress got 90 extra seats due to EVM manipulation .... More shocking was the arrest of one of his friends in Andhra Pradesh who proved & explained how EVM's can be rigged ...

At 7.01 pm, he had a look at his wrist watch ...& so did I :P ..(obviously, how else would I know that he looked at it ..at 7.01 pm?!! :P )...He began about the short-term measures which all of us could take to curb corruption....THE VERY FIRST THING - "PLEASE GIVE UP THIS AIR OF PESSIMISM" ...CLAP !! CLAP !! CLAP !!! WOOOOOOOOO !!!! WHISTLE !!!! :) :) ....
"COMMIT YOURSELF & SAY - YES !!! WE WILL GET A CORRUPTION-FREE ENVIRONMENT !!"....WOW !! WHISTLES GET LOUDER !! HOWLS GET LOUDER !! CLAPS GET MIGHTIER !!! :) :) :) ...

He then explained how computerization of railway bookings reduced corruption to a great extent ..thanks to Rajiv Gandhi ..He said - "His family may have forgotten him ..but I haven't" ....He highlighted & underlined how technology has a major impact in reducing corruption ....

He then talked about Baba Ramdev ...He said - "Don't think he's quiet just because the media's not showing him ....He's on a massive padayatra ..mobilizing the public against corruption" ...Huge applause was heard from the crowd ....

He went on to Anna Hazare ...He said that except for 1 point, he largely disagrees with the Jan Lok Pal Bill ...especially with the part that talks about a consolidated committee consisting of Magsaysay Awardees, Nobel Laureates etc etc ..."Who knows, next they might want Italians also in the committee" ..HAHAHAHAHA !!!!!! MAN !!!!!!! DOES HE HAVE BLOOD FLOWING IN HIS VEINS OR HUMOR !!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D LOL !!!!!!!!!!! :D :D ...He then said that the only point which he clearly agrees with, is the provision for independent prosecution ..without the necessity for a sanction ....He cited how such a provision did wonders for Hong Kong, once the most corrupt place ....& how the US makes use of this provision on a need-to-need basis ...

He also said that there are many strong laws in the existing framework itself....like for e.g...a person who files a complaint can himself prosecute the accused....He said that many laws like these are unheard of, even by judges themselves !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-O :-O WOW !!!!!! He said that it was one of the main motives for him setting up ACACI or Action Committee Against Corruption in India ....

He then DEFINED CLEARLY ..the roles each movement is playing ...Baba Ramdev mobilizing the public ...Anna Hazare pressurizing the parliament ...& the 3rd movement, headed by Dr.Swamy ... utilizing the court :) :) ...This was greeted by a THUNDEROUS ROARING RIPPLING APPLAUSE !! :) :) ....The league of extraordinary gentlemen !! :) :) :) He stressed on why all 3 have to work together for the short-term goal ...of putting the corrupt behind bars ...

He also clarified on why many people think that he supports Manmohan Singh ...
He said - "I'm not supporting him as such...the thing is ...If I don't support him, who will come?? ..some Buddhu will come!!!!!" LOL !! :D HUGE laughter from the crowd ...He said that the PM was a honest & boneless creature ..Instead of him, a corrupt, boneless creature will come ...LOL !! A loud applause followed ...He said that Bhishmacharya watched Draupadi being stripped ...Krishna told that he shouldn't be forgiven ...Similarly, he wouldn't forgive Manmohan Singh ...
Coming to the arrest of Yeddyurappa, he argued that if Yeddy can be taken, why not Dharam Singh & S.M.Krishna?? Are they any less?? He said - "May be I'll come through a Public Interest Litigation for them" ..A HUGE ROAR FOLLOWED FROM THE CROWD ...EVEN WHISTLES WERE HEARD !!!

He went on to talk about why globalization has made people more & more materialistic & how the status of someone in society is decided on how much money he has ...He talked about how Julia Roberts converted to Hinduism after being recommended The Bhagavad Gita as the guide to happiness....when she was in search of it ...He also added that A LOT of Americans like Steve Jobs are converting to Hinduism ...because of this ...& there is a huge demand for Swamis ...He said - "Because my name is Swamy, they think I'm a Swami !!!! They ask me how to become happy ..etc etc" ...LOL !! :D HA HA HA !! :D :D ....

He talked about the structure of history text books - 1 chapter for every mughal ...but only 1 paragraph on the Vijayanagar empire ??!!! With the mention that the history books have to be modified ...he concluded his talk !! :) :)

Dr.Swamy will be writing a column regularly in 'Organiser'

I am happy to be invited by the editor of Organiser to return to writing a column for Organiser. In 1970s I had written with " missionary" zeal in these columns about the Swadeshi Plan which was about self-reliance and not taking foreign aid, about achieving a 10 percent growth rate in the economy by giving up socialism, and the feasibility of acquiring nuclear weapons. These were radical ideas in those days that angered Mrs. Indira Gandhi and her KGB benefactors. She denounced me on the floor of Parliament and her Minister of Education ensured that not only I but my wife were both sacked from our professorships at the IIT, Delhi. Today, those radical ideas of the 1970s have become mainstream and I stand vindicated.

But the mission is incomplete, because India becoming a global economic power is not enough. To count internationally and get her due place in the world order, India must become thoroughly united with a virile mindset without self-doubt, and undergo a renaissance to cleanse the dirt and unwanted baggage acquired over the past thousand years. Otherwise foreign forces already alerted by India's recent economic successes and it's implications will leverage our internal weaknesses and self-doubt to derail the country. Look at the fate of Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Brazil, the shining hope of the 1960s. They are in one crisis after another today and in shambles. And East Asia, the much publicized "Tigers", had a blowout in 1997, and still to recover. Soviet Union is in 16 separate pieces, a happy development but a warning nonetheless. What happened to Yugoslavia ? It is in four warring pieces. It had happened to us earlier in the eighteeth and nineteenth centuries when we were balkanised. It can therefore happen again. Hence we need a new agenda for change to weld the Indian into one corporate mind and entity. This I shall expound in these columns.

Our nation is, in fact, at a cross roads of history today. To find our destiny and direction all Hindustanis with a patriotic mindset have to come together to combat a common unseen but alien enemy, and not to traverse again the unfortunate and tragic chapter of our past history when we helped the foreigner to get a grip on the nation in order to settle our own petty squabbles.

The last time we set aside our political and personal differences and came together was to fight the Emergency during 1975-77. Had we not done that, in particular Jayaprakash Narayan and Morarji Desai had not teamed up with the RSS, despite all their past differences, dictatorship would have prevailed and been legitimized through the ballot box in 1977. We came together and triumphed, and restored democracy. Even if that unity did not last long, the main task of restoring democracy was achieved and the nation saved.

Today, the challenge is much more formidable than it was ever in our history. More important the threat to our national integrity embedded in this challenge is not obvious or crude as was when Mohammed Ghori attacked or Robert Clive plundered the nation. These earlier challenges were single dimensionalat the physical conquest level. Today the challenge is highly sophisticated, multi-dimensional and deceptive.

What is happening today is a very subtle fragmentation of our national consciousness and an induced acquiesance in our outlook to condone or be impervious to whatever wrong is going on. There is, for example, no national will to enforce accountability on the leaders who make patently wrong decisions, which harm the nation. Or bring to book their lifestyle that is inconsistent with the national spiritual ethos.

This state of affairs has come about steadily through one wrong decision after another over the years and a weak mindset of the intelligentsia to tolerate it or explain it away. The first of such decisions with disastrous long term consequences was in 1947, when Nehru decided to go to the UN Security Council on Kashmir which had become by then a part of India in legally iron clad way. The Instrument of Accession had been signed by the Maharaja acceding Kashmir to India. He was legally empowered to do so by the Indian Independence Act passed in June 1947 by the British Parliament, which Act carved out a new nation of Pakistan out of undivided India. That Act also empowered the Princely States to accede to India or Pakistan without requiring to ascertain the wishes of the people. There is no dispute about the legality of the Instrument of Accession, and yet Nehru without obtaining his Cabinet's consent declared that the wishes of the Kashmiri people would be ascertained. By going to the UN, Nehru made Pakistan a party when it could never be legally so. Ironically, if Pakistan questions the validity of the Instrument of Accession then it questions it's own legal existence since both draw their legitimacy from the same legislationthe Indian Independence Act of 1947. If Kashmir is of disputed status then so will be Pakistan itself. Either both or neither ! What Nehru did, for his personal image in the West, or perhaps to please Edwina Moutbatten, was to weaken the national resolve to cherish the hoary concept of Bharatvarsh, the geographical integrity of Hindustan from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Since then it has been easy to rationalize writing off bits of India, continuously to amputate Mother India, from Aksai Chin, to Northeast to even returning reclaimed Indian territory such as in Hajipir(1965) and Chicken Neck(1972) and now, as Prof. Nalapat writes, soon in Siachen and Sir Creek. Yet Nehru has not been held accountable by succeeding generations. Some even take pride in being known as Nehruvian even today, when he should be despised much as Neville Chamberlain is in Britain.

Then the nation was railroaded into adopting the Soviet economic model on the ground that, as Communists and their fellow travelers in India propagated, there was no inflation, no poverty, and no unemployment in the Soviet Union. The reality today is that there no Soviet Union ! The Soviet model weakened the Indian economy, set us back, and introduced corruption in India as a way of life. This has made us vulnerable again to the foreigner. How that happened I shall deal with in my next column.

With The Black-Money We Will Have Tax-Free Situation for Next 25 Years - Dr. Swamy

The Janata Party President, speaking at Moneylife Foundation’s second anniversary program, explained why everyone should be bothered about corruption

“Corruption is the reason behind inflation. Loss to the exchequer means loss for the people, and results into misplaced priorities,” said Dr Subramanian Swamy, President of Janata Party. He was speaking on the occasion of the second anniversary of Moneylife Foundation.

Dr Swamy said how the encouragement to corrupt practices have dealt a blow to the country and its people. He said, “The 2G scam is probably the biggest we have seen, which the CAG estimates has led to a loss of Rs1.76 lakh crore. We would have a big part of our budget taken care of if we had that money.”

The Janata Party President said that the then Telecom Minister A Raja’s aim was to favour Unitech and Swan, two real estate companies, which had neither any experience nor any infrastructure in place in the telecom sector. “What made it worse was that Raja made the rule that even before rolling out their services, the companies can go for share dilution. Subsequently, many companies, including Swan (to UAE’s Etisalat), Unitech (to Norway’s Telenot) and Tata (to Japanes DoCoMo), all sold their stakes at eight to 30 times the price of purchase. If they can do it, what stops the government from doing so and recover the money,” Dr Swamy said.

The money which corrupt officials and ministers stash abroad in secret bank accounts must be brought back, he said. However, Indian government has been extremely reluctant to publish the names contained in the CD given by the German government that contains details of bank account holders in Liechtenstein and other tax havens. “If we get that money back, it will be enough to have an income tax free situation for 25 years, along with enough to finance all infrastructure, power and development projects in the country,” he said.

Dr Swamy also said how black money flows in and out of the Indian market unaccounted, and has huge implications. “The stock market is now almost a rigged market. The illegal cash is brought to India, and converted into rupees via participatory notes; money is invested in the market. The returns then are again sent abroad.”

“Black money is preferred in transactions which favour cash like real estate. No wonder prices shoot up abnormally. But the more importantly, it misplaces priorities. Because there is so much black money, all focus is towards luxury goods and services; and everyone keeps the prices high to make profits. As a result, the poor people have little that address their needs, and for them, participating in the economy becomes more difficult,” he said. Dr Swamy said that the fact that the economy is growing at 8% while inflation increases at 16%, violates the basic rules of economics that says that prices come down when supply increases.

“The one sector which has suffered the most is agriculture. India has the cheapest labour, and has more area under agriculture than many exporters. Yet our production is low; and even that is wasted away. Nutrition has suffered. There is no quality investment in agriculture. We can be a powerhouse in agriculture exporting to the West,” he said. “The dangerous thing about black money is that it is transferred abroad through the hawala route via Dubai, and every transaction is being recorded by ISI. So, they can blackmail our ministers any time they wish. That is what makes our government weak; and vulnerable to security risks. I wonder why Afzal Guru and Kasab are kept alive. Maybe our ministers are compromised bacuse the ISI has too much of dope on them.”

Dear Prime Minister:
I write this letter regarding the matter of retirement of the Chief of Army Staff Gen V.K. Singh as decided by your Government.
I am constrained to take up this matter in view of the fact that Gen Singh not only has an impeccable battle-field record but he has also earned an extremely good name in the ranks of the army and outside as a person who is ready to take steps to clean up corruption whenever and wherever it has come to his notice in the army.

All the facts are known to you and I believe they are contained in a statutory complaint made by Gen Singh himself with all the relevant documents in the Ministry of Defence. The Raksha Mantri Mr. Antony gave me an appointment and I had met him to discuss this matter. But from what he told me it appears that for the resolution of the matter it is not in his hands and that is why since you are the Prime Minister, I am writing this letter for I have a deep respect for you and for your personal integrity.

The issue is not the question of changing the date of birth as was given in the form when Gen Singh filled his form on joining the army. Two points are amply clear from the documents (1) that his date of birth in the matriculation certificate is 1951 and in the form filled by him it is 1950. As far as the filled up form is concerned, Gen Singh at that stage was a class X student and it could well be that the form was filled up by somebody, e.g. his teacher. But more importantly whether his date of birth is 1950 or 1951 in the application form, it gave him no benefit as far as his service in the army is concerned and no benefit in his subsequent career. It is important to bring to your notice that four former Chief Justices of the Supreme Court of India found it compelling to write out their opinion, one of which opinion was sought by the Central Authority which is within the army, namely, the Adjutant General’s office, namely, from Justice J.S. Verma and they were all unanimous that legally and judicially the date of birth at any time when a dispute arises can only be determined on the basis of the school leaving certificate which in this case is 1951. I have also been told authoritatively but orally about the opinion of the Attorney General of India, but his opinion is based on a question that was posed in a rigged manner against the rightful claim of Gen Singh. I urge you to disregard the same and use your own appreciation of the facts. The core point is that the entire service record of Gen Singh clearly show that the Adjutant General’s office after due “verification and authentication from the state of his selection in the army, the date of birth has been nothing but 10.5.1951 and not 10.5.1950. This date of birth, viz. 10.5.1951 is also the same date given by the successful candidate Gen V.K.Singh at the entry point and accepted by the UPSC as correct at the time of selection.
The media is naturally being organized by some and you know that is not difficult. The nation cannot treat him as officer sterling in unfinished career and dropped, targeted and destroyed in this manner. I have my own theories of why this is being dumped and demoralize the jawans in the army.

I urge you with respect to intervene and ensure that this matter is settled on merit and in the larger interest of the nation and that it will not be necessary to undergo a massive litigation launched by a body called Grenadiers Association of Rohtak, Haryana and pending in the Supreme Court.

An Interview with Subramaniam Swamy

A Ganesh Nadar provokes the maverick politician to find out.

Dr Subramanian Swamy -- president of the Janata Party which once ruled the country, but hardly has a presence in any state -- is a rock star for Indians opposed to the Congress party and the Gandhi-Nehru family.
The outspoken economist-politician, who was recently removed from Harvard's roster of lecturers, spoke to Rediff.com's A Ganesh Nadar at his New Delhi [ Images ] home.

What motivates you?
I want to see the country progress. I wanted India [ Images ] to go nuclear in the 1960s and it happened. I wanted better relations with China and that too has happened.
The only thing that I wanted and has not yet happened is a Hindu renaissance. I am working for that now.

Do you personally dislike Home Minister P Chidambaram? Why?
I do not know him personally. Why should I dislike him? You people just say anything.
When I went after (former Union telecom minister) A Raja you said I don't like Dalits.
When I went after (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam [ Images ] MP and former Tamil chief minister M Karunanidhi's [ Images ] youngest daughter) Kanimozhi you said I don't like women and now you say I don't like Chidambaram.
He has said he was my student at Harvard. I don't recall that. I guess he must have been a poor student. If he had been a good student, I would have remembered him.

What more are you going to say to prove Mr Chidambaram's alleged link to the 2G scam?
Nothing more. I have already proved his involvement. Now all I need to do is show the documents to the departments that issued them and get them to certify that it is their document.

What do you think happened between Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa [ Images ] and her aide Sasikala?
I have not met Jayalalithaa after the split, so I do not know the exact details.
From what I hear, Sasikala was trying to implicate Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case.
What is your stand on the Koodankulam nuclear power project?
It is a very good project. The agitation is being paid for by the Western powers that do not want to see a Russian project succeed.
For then all future projects will be given to the Russians. Their (the Russian)rates are cheaper and their technology is better.
The agitation should be crushed.
I see so many priests in the protests. What are they doing there? The Church has never said it is against nuclear energy.

What is the solution to the Mullaperiyar dam issue?
When I was elected as the MP from Madurai [ Images ], the people petitioned me to raise the height of the water in the dam. I argued in the Supreme Court for eight years and got an order to raise the water level from 136 feet to 152 feet. I got that order in 2006.
The order was not implemented by the Tamil Nadu government. They sat on it and did nothing.
When the water level goes up, the catchment area increases. When it goes down, the catchment area decreases.
In that reclaimed land, many people have built luxury homes. Now if you increase the height, these homes will get flooded.
The Tamil Nadu government did not implement the Supreme Court order that I obtained. Now it cannot be implemented. The court will not accept it.
The Centre should build a new dam and make Kerala [ Images ] pay for it.

Why have you joined the NDA (National Democratic Alliance)?
I have not joined the NDA. We had talks, that is all.
The engagement has happened,but the marriage is yet to take place.

Anything particular happened the last time you taught at Harvard?
Nothing happened at that time. I wrote an article in the DNA newspaper that upset a few people. At that time they wanted to sack me, but Harvard said it was freedom of speech.
This year they had a meeting where a vote was taken. While the moderates did not turn up for this vote, the extremists turned up in large numbers. They won and my subjects were cancelled.
This is the first time that freedom of speech has been decided by voting.
Harvard should be ashamed of it. I am sure that at some stage they will apologise to me.
I teach there for two months in the summer for one semester.

How will Indo-China relationships go in the next decade?
We should be friends with China and quit crying that they are building a road near the border, or talk about the pearl necklace that it is building to encircle us.
We should just do the same. The Malacca Straits is very important to China. All its ships pass through it. It is very near the Andaman Islands.
We should sign a treaty with Indonesia. They too don't like the Chinese and then control the Malacca Straits.
If China acts aggressive anywhere we should close down the Malacca Straits. We should also have defence pacts with Vietnam, who are ready for it.
We should build up our defences against China. There should not be any repeat of 1962. At the same time our foreign policy should be friendly towards China.
Defence policy should be to contain China and foreign policy should be to befriend China.

What about Indo-US relations with regard to China and Pakistan?
The US is a country that believes that every favour should be returned. We should have sent our troops to Iraq but (then prime minister Atal Bihari) Vajpayee did not.
We do not support the US in many international disputes, which is wrong.
We think the US should side with us on merit. That will never happen.
Merit has no place in international relationships. We have to give them something for something they give us.
If we don't do that, then we will join Japan [ Images ] and Australia [ Images ] and we will be treated like concubines.
Do you want to be in a harem?
We should not interfere if there are tensions between the US and China. That is their problem and they will deal with it.

Where would you place India in the comity of nations with regard to our aspirations to be in the Security Council?
We will never be in the Security Council.
In the comity of nations we stand nowhere.

There are rumours that Brahmin IAS officers give you all the dirt against ministers.
Even the Scheduled Castes among the IAS cadre give me information. I studied in the elite schools of Delhi and then at Hindu College. My classmates are in high positions in the civil services.
My father was a secretary in the government. My father-in-law was in the ICS. I have contacts and a great network and that is how I get my information.
Normal politicians promote their friends and hide their enemies. I do the opposite. I make my enemies public and keep my friends a secret.

Jayalalithaa has not done anything since she won the assembly election. All she does is arrest DMK cadres.
She was in the grip of Sasikala and her ilk who were transferring officers and making deals. Now that they have gone, Jayalalithaa can concentrate on good governance.
It is true that so far she has done nothing.

Tell me about the Emergency.
During the Emergency, the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) told me that I should go out and tell the world what atrocities are happening here. So I went to the US and Europe and told them what Indira Gandhi [ Images ] was doing here.
I destroyed her credibility there.
I was a Rajya Sabha MP at that time. I knew that if I remained absent for six months they could use that to disqualify me. So I came back and attended Parliament.
The obituaries were being read out and a two minute silence was being observed. I announced, 'Please include the government in the list of obituaries because the government too is dead.'
They were stunned.
I walked out and drove away in my car. I was wearing a kurta pajama. I changed that to normal clothes with a half sleeve shirt and a kara like a Punjabi lad.

The foreign inspired conspiracy of Ms Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi to destroy the credibility of their own appointed Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, by engineering the Lokpal Bill fiasco in the Rajya Sabha on December 29th requires to be condemned as treachery. Dr. Manmohan Singh should recall the other fiasco of the FDI-Walmart Retail Trade proposal, and this December 29th fiasco in the Rajya Sabha are a move to make him resign and to make way for the intellectually moribund Rahul Gandhi as PM. National interest now requires both the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee to come together and Indianise the Congress party.

A Roman Catholic clique of advisers of Sonia Gandhi are seeking to radicalize the situation in the country to enable a takeover of the levers of power in their grasp. The danger then is that India’s long unbroken civilization may be ruptured and a concubine westernized culture imposed. Hence I urge both Dr. Manmohan Singh and Mr. Pranab Mukherjee to make a New Year’s Resolution that they will work together to Indianise Congress and take necessary steps for this purpose so that this aim can be achieved by 15th August of 2012. Both these leaders should come to an understanding as to who then will be the Prime Minister and who will be the President of India. Patriotic MPs who represent the overwhelming majority in the Parliament will rally behind such a combination. The operational details of this plan will be worked out after the forthcoming UP elections and during the Budget session and be implemented before the Rashtrapati election in July 2012.

Eleven ways to fight corruption – Dr. Swamy

Corruption in India is a major concern because of the mind boggling amounts of money illegally appropriated in the Satyam, IPL, CWG and 2G Spectrum scams. India today has one of the most corrupt governance. The unanimous worldwide view is that corruption is no more the tolerable grease or speed money in any system, but a cancer that will cause death of a society unless cured early.

Although ancient India had won the admiration of visiting monks, historians and traders as a nation of honest citizens, we have lost that reputation. Global watchdog, Transparency International Index of Corruption, shames us in India’s rankings. Our citizens’ illegal bank deposits in tax havens abroad are the highest for citizens of any nation — as high as $1.5 trillion. Though India is a signatory to the UN Convention Against Corrupt, it is yet to ratify it. The Convention came into force on December 14, 2005 when 38 nations ratified it. Its asset recovery provision is appealing. Yet, India is yet to sign.

Corruption misallocates resources from the meritorious to the unworthy, most transactions then lead to sub-optimally produced sub-standard goods and services, which would not otherwise have been sold in the open market without law enforcement retribution. The bitter truth is that our corporate world’s success stories are founded on fudged accounts and undisclosed funding through black money held by corrupt politicians and criminals. Since merit today is regarded inferior to acquisition of power, the immoral, criminal, powerful and illegitimately rich achieve social respectability because of this short-cut to wealth. Since elections lead to political power of those with illegal funds, future Governments naturally become bribe-compliant and protect the crooked. The cure for corruption is manifold but the goal cannot be achieved unless there is accountability in governance. Such accountability requires transparent and ethical reporting of the finances of an organisation. I highlight 11 ways:

1 Black money unreported money, neither taxed nor spent openly. Thus, the rich pay minimal taxes relative to their legal dues either due to clever chartered accountants, or by tax avoidance through the agricultural sector which has zero income tax. I advocate a three-year period of zero income tax for all for the first three years of a newly elected Government.

2 Since the corrupt indulge in gross luxurious consumption and bribery, it raises the profitability of non-essential luxury industry. This essentially crowds out investment in other, more essential, industries. In India, the luxury goods sector, directly and indirectly receives 70 per cent of national investment. I advocate that the essential commodities sector receives loans from public sector banks at the international rate of four per cent interest, and be exempted for five years from paying all direct taxes. But, they must pay a flat 25 per cent of the declared profit net of dividend paid.

3 A mathematical analysis based on probability of detection, the cost to the corrupt of such detection, and probability-weighted average with the value of the gain from the corrupt act proves that even if the probability of detection is low, if the cost to the corrupt of detection is some big multiple of the gain from the corrupt act, every rational person would voluntarily choose not to bribe or accept bribe. This is because the expected value of any corrupt transaction then becomes negative. Hence, I advocate focusing on individual cases and making an example out of them to society as I have tried to do through courts with A Raja and P Chidambaram (and later with Sonia Gandhi) and confiscate all their properties post conviction, for effectively fighting corruption.

4 Cronyism and corruption have brought Budgets on verge of bankruptcy. This, too, needs fixing. Based on the ICAI’s Concept Paper on Convergence with IFRS in India, I advocate the adoption of the International Standards of Financial Reporting and Disclosure Standards for FDI flows into India.

5 Though the SEBI has made compliance for listed companies in Corporate Governance Guidelines mandatory from January 1, 2006, about one-fourth (i.e. 1,213) listed companies have not complied for the period ending March 31, 2010. Yet, there has been no action by SEBI, which can de-list these companies on the Stock Exchange.

6 One of the most scandalous frauds on the financial system of India is the derivative called the Participatory Note (PN). According to a conservative estimate, there are over Rs 3,50,000 crore worth of PNs issued abroad which are being actively traded in India, fuelling about 55 per cent of all foreign investments in Indian stock markets. The PNs have no requirement to comply with even the SEBI disclosure rules, to enable laundering. I advocate that all PNs be abolished and SEBI directed to publish names of the secret owners of these PNs.

7 In 2002, India and Mauritius extended the controversial Indo-Mauritius Double Taxation Avoidance Treaty (DTAT) laying down that no resident of Mauritius would be taxed in India on capital gains arising out of sale of securities in India. After DTAT was signed, the Government of Mauritius abolished capital gains tax in their country. Mauritius has, thus, emerged as the largest foreign investor in India since PNs have been routed through that small island nation, and the windfall earned in the stock market exempt from tax. The tax losses to India as a result of DTAT are estimated at Rs 1,00,000 crore to date. I advocate abolition of DTAT.

8 In his address to the 43rd Munich Conference on Security Policy on February 11, 2007, National Security Advisor MK Narayanan listed out ways and means of terror funding in India. He admitted: “Instances of terrorist outfits manipulating stock markets to raise funds for their operations have been reported. Stock exchanges in Mumbai and Chennai have, on occasion, reported that fictitious or notional companies were engaging in stock market operations. Some of these companies were traced to terror outfits”. This is a shocking admission. I advocate death penalty for any stock broker facilitating such a sale of stocks.

9 To bring back all the black money deposited in banks abroad, I advocate that the next Union Government issue an ordinance declaring that all foreign accounts held by Indian nationals abroad are nationalised. If any such holder proves that the account was opened legally and operated with legitimate deposits and withdrawals, then it will be restored. This, under the new UN laws, is permissible as confirmed to me by Fali Nariman. The amount recovered will cover all tax abolitions I have advocated.

10 I advocate that CBI be re-constituted under a Special Act and all foreign exchange transaction offenses under PMLA be made criminal and transferred to CBI.

11 As corruption stems from greed, I advocate that the next Government adopt Integral Humanism as propounded by Deendayal Upadhyaya who said that a society is healthy only if there is a harmonisation of material pursuits and spiritual advancement. In a nutshell, that is through renaissance of sanatan dharma.

Dr.Swamy's Letter To CBI Director

Dear Mr. Singh:

Please refer to the Written Complaint that I had submitted on November 28, 2011 to CBI through you, and on behalf the Action Committee Against Corruption in India (ACACI).

This letter is by way of additional information relating to the disclosure of offences committed under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA).

First, is the information from an article published in Schweitzer Illustrate in its November 1991 issue, which magazine is a highly respected and widely circulated magazine in German language, and published in Switzerland. This information discloses that the former Prime Minister, Mr.Rajiv Gandhi (now deceased), had about $2 billion in secret bank accounts in Switzerland, which is clearly disproportionate to his known sources of income as per his affidavit filed with his nomination papers upon becoming a candidate for Lok Sabha elections in 1991. This attracts section 13(1)(d) of the PCA. Although the information is two decades old, but you are aware that there is no time limitation for corruption cases under the PCA. Also even if Rajiv Gandhi is now deceased, his likely beneficiaries are his wife, Sonia, and two children, two of whom are public servants.

The second information is from Dr.Yevgenia Albats, a Russian scholar, holding a Harvard Ph.D and who was a member of the Inquiry Commission into KGB Activities which Commission was appointed by President Yeltsin of Russia. She subsequently authored a book titled: “A State Within a State: KGB in Soviet Union.” In that book, she disclosed the File Numbers contain evidence of the KGB payments to the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and his family members. This disclosure was confirmed by the spokesperson of the FIS, the KGB’s successor spy agency (equivalent of our IB and RAW combined) in a Press Conference in 1992, and reported by The Hindu, Times of India, and UNI. In 2002, the then External Affairs Minister Mr.Jaswant Singh had taken this matter up with the Russians and was informed by the Russian authorities that the GOI may send a senior representative of the RAW to Moscow to obtain authenticated records of KGB payments to Rajiv Gandhi and family.

Third, I have information that Mr.Rahul Gandhi was detained in Boston’s Logan Airport by US law enforcement authorities sometime in the later half of September 2001. He was in possession of $160,000 in cash which he did not declare upon arrival. US Customs require all amounts above $10,000 in cash to be declared, and if not every $10,000 instalment carries a 8 year imprisonment, if convicted. This means Rahul Gandhi was indictable for a prison term of 144 years. However, the then Principal Secretary to the PM, Mr.Brijesh Mishra, to my knowledge, had intervened with US Secretary of State, and arrangements were made get to Mr.Gandhi released.

In his deposition to the US authorities before returning to London Mr.Gandhi had declared that the money was his, and he had drawn it out of his secret account in Pictet Bank, head quartered in Zurich, Switzerland. I may mention here later that while studying in Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida, USA, Mr.Gandhi paid his Tuition and other fees to the College from his secret accounts.

Hence, if you record these informations as part of the FIR, then after doing the preliminary inquiries that the CBI is entitled to Letters Rogatory may be obtained. The ACACI then would be pleased to assist the CBI in its investigation abroad armed with these LRs.

Rally Against P. Chidambaram

Thousands of Student affiliated to Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka joined the rally demanding the resignation of the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram. It was organised by Youth AGAINST Corruption (YAC).

Janata Party president Shri. Subramanian Swamy was invited to adress the students said that the letter which was sent by Chidambaram to A. Raja proves that even Chidambaram is involved in determining the prices.

FIR Against Black Money Holders

Dr. Swamy president Janata Party an active user on twitter said Action Committee Against Corruption in India (ACACI), a 15-member committee headed by him, would lodge a complaint with the CBI seeking an FIR to be registered against unnamed persons possessing illegal bank accounts abroad.

Swami said "If the CBI declines to register the FIR, then the ACACI will move the court,". If the CBI registers the FIRs, the ACACI would then move the court for issuing letters rogatory.

“As per the present rules,

the CBI has power to register FIR against unnamed persons having accounts in foreign banks. We will file complaint to CBI on November 28 and if they were not acting,

we would approach court, like we did in 2G spectrum cases,” said Swamy.

Swamy also tweeted, “The ACACI will file a complaint with the CBI for a FIR on Nov 28th to get a Letter Rogatory from a Court to investigate Sonia’s foreign account.”

The ACACI was formed with special focus on illegal money flow in and out of the country.

ACACI Has Been Set Up !

As promised the 'Action Committee Against Corruption in India' has been set up to fight corruption in the space left vacant by two major movements against corruption. The first movement initiated by Baba Ramdev focused on mass mobilisation against corruption. The second movement has been initiated under the leadership Anna Hazare focused on the need for revamping of the present laws and making them free of loopholes. The Action Committee Against Corruption in India will focus on specific action against macro level corrupt acts especially in the criminal misconduct of high level public officials and the illegal money flow out of and into the country.

The ACACI will leverage the existing national and international laws and move internal and global institutions to discover and recover illegal funds deposited abroad in secret banking channels in about 77 countries. The members of the ACACI are drawn from different fields who have achieved eminence and held high office. The list of members is appended herein.

Our areas of focus would include nationalisation of illegal accounts in foreign banks and plugging tax evasion. The ACACI will focus on specific action against macro corrupt acts, especially in the criminal misconduct of high level public officials and illegal money flow in and out of the country.

The Head Office will be located in New Delhi, but its branches will be opened in the major cities of India and also of the world where people of Indian origin reside.

Dr. Swami praised Baba Ramdev saying that he concentrated on mass mobilisation. Dr. Swamy also said that he would participate in the yoga guru's proposed padayatra.

A protest demonstration was organised by Indian-Americans under the banner of 'Indian American Intellectuals Forum', 'Save India From Corruption' and other associations in New York.The protest was organized to express the disgust and anger against the harassment of Shri Subramanian Swamy, The President of Janata Party.

A copy of the Memorandum submitted to the Consulate General of India , New York was distributed to the media. The Memorandum, inter alia, said that:

India is neither a Banana Republic nor a fiefdom of any Dynasty. It is a full-fledged and vibrant democracy in which freedom of diverse views is constitutionally guaranteed to all the citizens.

Narain Kataria, one of the organizer of the Protest said that “We are afraid that once Dr. Swamy is put in jail, sinister attempts would be hatched to immobilize him physically as well as mentally for ever."

"I won’t sleep till Chidambaram is arrested" - Swamy

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh might have given him a reprieve in the 2G spectrum scam, but it is temporary and there is no way Union home minister P Chidambaram could escape from the long arm of law, said Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday.
He was delivering a lecture on ‘Hidden Facts About 2G Spectrum’ organised by the Youth Against Corruption.

“I won’t sleep till Chidambaram is arrested,” said the Janata Party president whose legal and investigative work has fuelled prosecution of the various accused in the Rs1.76 lakh crore 2G scam.

Terming former Union telecom minister A Raja as a small fry in the big scam, Swamy said Chidambaram is the mastermind who guided Raja through the 2G spectrum allocation deal.
Describing the Rs1.76 lakh crore scam as the biggest in the world, he put the amount that was paid as bribes to key players in the scam at Rs60,000 crore.

“Poor Raja got just Rs5,000 crore, Chidambaram got a pocket money of Rs5,000 crore, former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi was paid Rs14,000 crore and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi got a whopping Rs36,000 crore,” he said.

Explaining the hard work that he put in for ferreting out relevant documents and files to expose the scam, Swamy said he had strong evidence to nail Chidambaram too.

“Chidambaram has stashed away Rs50,000 crore in foreign banks. It was Chidambaram who guided Raja in framing the guidelines for spectrum allocation. He cannot escape. I will not sleep till Chidambaram is arrested,” he said.

Citing the Tamil Nadu connection of all those who are facing the music from CBI, Swamy hinted at Sonia, too, getting into trouble. “It is better the jail authorities in Tihar be ready to make pizzas and spaghetti,” he said taking a dig at her Italian origin.

The 2G spectrum licences, which were sold at a throwaway price, were later sold by the allottees for prices eight to 13 times the cost they bought it. The country lost revenue of about Rs1.76 lakh crore.

“It is not just about money, the scam has put the country’s security and economy at great risk,” he said.

One of the companies had links with global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim who is hiding in Pakistan and another company had close association with the Chinese army.

“The allotment has put India’s security at great risk as in the event of a war, Indian military communications could be jammed,” he said.

The hawala racket is being used to route the bribe to foreign bank accounts and most of the hawala agents have Pakistani connection. The huge money is then being brought back for investing in the country’s stock market. Swamy cited the frequent upheavals in stock market to this hawala influence.

“This has ruined our stock markets, led to huge inflation, thus making the life of millions of poor and middle class Indians miserable,” he said.

He wanted all the 2G licences cancelled. Swamy expressed confidence that the court would do it if the UPA government failed.

Catholic church involved in Kudankulam Nuclear Plant agitation: Dr. Swamy asks for PM's explanation

I demand an explanation from the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh as to why his Secretary Mr. Pulok Chatterji, with the help of the Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Prithviraj Chavan, has entered into negotiations with the Catholic Church in Mumbai to help resolve the protests taking place against the Kudankulam Nuclear Plant. Does this mean that the Catholic Church is

behind the agitation in which case it is highly objectionable and calls for action under IPC Sections 153A & B, 295A and 505(2). It also exposes that the PMO is under the clutches of the Catholic Church probably due to the extra-constitutional authority exercised by the now ailing Ms Sonia Gandhi who appears to regard Mr. Pulok Chatterji with the PMO as her personal civil domestic servant judging by his role when she was hospitalized in New York. During the period of her hospitalization, Mr. Pulok Chatterji was frequently seen arranging for pizza and other snacks for her large Italian entourage numbering about fifty and living in plush apartments in New York close to the hospital.

The Prime Minister, if he is committed to secular, that is, not prejudiced against the majority Hindu community and biased in favour of the Christians because they are patrons of Ms. Sonia Gandhi, should put an end to this condemnable negotiation on the viability of the Kudankulam Plant. The Church has no business to decide whatsoever on whether a new reactor set up after Government approval is to be opposed or supported. Let the Catholic Church restrict itself to religious matters otherwise persons like myself would be free to investigate the practices of the Church such as in appointment of Bishops on direction from the Vatican, and receipt of funds from abroad.

Dear Prime Minister:

This letter is in continuation of my earlier letters on the same subject.

There is now much evidence within your Government itself that Etisalat DB, the new name for Swan Telecom, and one of the favoured few which got the UASL 2G licenses for 15 circles in 2008, is a company that is a partner with the Pakistan Government’s Telecom Company: the PTCL (incidentally which is dominated by ISI, a pro-terrorist intelligence agency of the Pakistan army). Etisalat is also connected to China’s PLA. Etisalat DB’s Shahid Balwas is a close associate of Dawood Ibrahim (the underworld ‘Don’ and criminal who is a proclaimed offender). Balwas is also close associate of one of your Cabinet Ministers.

These data are available with your Home Ministry.

The Home Ministry has also information that Etisalat DB has Telecom Surveillance Software that will enable it to track movements of anyone who takes a SIM card from it for its service.

This also is the position of Unitech Wireless which is another undeserving licensee, and which has now sold its controlling shares to Telenor which is also operationally based in Pakistan.

Hence to safeguard our national integrity, you must use your residuary extraordinary power vested in you as PM, to cancel all the 2G licences awarded, and order an auction for Indian bidders. The Supreme Court judgment in the Petrol Pump allotment matter also empowers the government. Therefore, Mr.Sibal’s 60 day notice to 2G Spectrum allottees is foolish in this background.

In this context, it is of concern that financial sleaze operator, Ottavio Quattrocchi, who has a temporary respite from incarceration thanks the indulgence of yours and your predecessor NDA governments, has become again active in India’s business fixing, sometimes operating from Malaysia on behalf of a large East Asian nation, sometimes from Milan for European interests. He leverages his son’s presence in India and extraordinary access to the Gandhis (Sonia and Rahul). It is essential that he be declared an‘undesirable alien’. I believe the CBI maintains such a list of undesirable persons and circulates that list to bureaucrats to ensure that no one entertains any persons on that list.

I also draw your attention to the baneful influence of one Ms. Farida Ataullah, a Pakistani with dubious connections (during the Benazir Bhutto tenure as PM she was her ‘bag person’), who has been a close friend of Ms. Sonia Gandhi for decades-- so much so that she was Chief Guest of Honour at a select gathering at the wedding of Ms Gandhi’s daughter, Priyanka in the mid 1990s. She lives in Dubai and co-ordinates all kinds of nefarious activities in and out of India.

Perhaps because of her influence, an important member of the core group of the Congress Party called the Mumbai and Maharashtra police officials to his suite in Oberoi Hotel Mumbai after the 26/11 terrorist attack, and directed that “Indian collaboration” in 26/11 should not be probed.

All these facts put together paint a grim picture of the national security scenario in the country. Pakistan was defeated four times in open military warfare by us but because of corruption in high places today flowing from the well known “Gangotri”, Pakistan may succeed in undermining our national integrity through such well placed persons and effect a soft subversion of the Indian nation.

I write this letter to you place my concerns on record. As a public person who has been elected to Parliament five times and held Cabinet rank posts twice in the Union Government, I have a duty to inform you of these developments that I have been apprised of by my trusted friends in India and abroad. Please verify for yourself these facts and accordingly discharge the oath of office that you have sworn to uphold.

Nation Must Reject the Ridiculous Claim of Mr. Digvijay Singh

The nation must reject the ridiculous self-serving unsubstantiated claim of Congress General Secretary, Mr.Digvijay Singh, that telephone “records” show the Maharashtra police official Mr.Karkare, had hours before the latter was killed by Pakistani-trained terrorist on November 26, 2009 spoken to Mr.Singh about “Hindu Terrorists” and their harassment of him.

The nation has not been provided with any evidence so far if what conversation, if any, took place or the duration of the call.

The photocopy of the telephone records that Mr.Singh flourished before TV media cameras yesterday, needs to be scrutinized, since the telephone number on which a call was made from Mr.Singh’s telephone, was to a general SIT number in Mumbai, and not any one of the two numbers on which Mr.Karkare could be accessed.

Hence the statements of Mr.Karkare’s wife and Maharashtra Government Home Minister R.R.Patel acquires credibility and makes out, prime facie, Mr.Singh a liar.

Hence I shall file a RTI application to obtain the telephone records of all calls made by Mr.Digvijay Singh on November 26, 2009 and I hope Mr.Singh will give the PIO/RTI his consent to give me the records.

a 225-page petition seeking your permission {viz., Sanction u/s 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (1988)} to prosecute Ms. Sonia Gandhi.

Ms. Gandhi has been a public servant since 1991, initially by virtue of getting the 10, Janpath, New Delhi, a Government house, allotted to her as her residence for life. Since 2004 she has been the Chairperson of the National Advisory Council with Cabinet rank and which is serviced administratively by the Cabinet Secretariat.

According to submissions and documentation in my petition, Ms. Sonia Gandhi is culpable of having committed a criminal offence e.g., u/s 13 of the afore-referred to Act, in the Bofors scam and hence the criminal law has to be set into motion for which I first need your Sanction.

According to the CVC direction on grant of Sanction, you have to decide within three months, i.e., July 15, 2011, whether or not to grant me Sanction.

I shall be at Harvard University from June 23rd to August 10th. If therefore I am not informed by you upon my return whether or not I have been granted Sanction, I shall be compelled to approach the Courts against your failure to perform your statutory duty under Section 19 of the said Act.

I have also established by some credible documentation that Ms. Sonia Gandhi is the legatee of an illegal bank account, and of a Trust, in Switzerland that was earlier in the name of her now deceased husband Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. From this bank account, payments were made to pay the tuition fees and other expenses of her son Mr. Rahul Gandhi when he was in college in USA, briefly at Harvard in 1990-91 before he was compelled by circumstances to quit, then later at Rollins College, a Catholic Christian establishment, near Orlando, Florida.

Hence the money trail from this illegal account can be tracked in view of the Amendment to the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Switzerland and India, recently passed by Swiss Parliament on June 17, 2011, when read with Restitution of Illicit Assets of Politically Empowered Persons Act (2010) passed earlier by Swiss Parliament.

I am prepared to assist your Government to get the necessary documents from the Swiss authorities if you are serious about the matter of bringing back such black money deposited abroad. The procrastination in the Lichtenstein Bank matter however is not inspiring.

Dear Prime Minister:

I made some enquiries from well placed sources in your Government regarding the decision already taken but not yet formalized (short of the ritual of commercial evaluation and index of performance criteria)-- the choice of French planes for the Indian Air Force.

My sources indicate that the pre-determined decision to favour the French aircraft was the outcome of several conversations between the wife of French President Ms. Carla Bruni and the Chairperson of the National Advisory Council Ms. Sonia Gandhi, and surprisingly also with two foreign nationals who are the sisters of Ms. Sonia Gandhi.
Based on some credible information given to me on the conversation between Ms. Carla Bruni and Ms Sonia Gandhi’s sisters, there has been an agreement of the French to pay a hefty bribe for favouring the purchase of French aircrafts. This, if documented in the future, will be a major scandal which will haunt you and may lead to criminal prosecution for no fault of yours except that you have been compliant to the mysterious system of governance in this country that has been worked out by Ms. Sonia Gandhi since 2004. The Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony is like you, personally honest but he is even more compliant to these rules of governance. Hence I am sending a copy of this letter to him.
Therefore you should take necessary steps to see that you are not kept out of the loop, as had been the case in the 2G Himalayan scam. The US aircraft which has been deleted from the shortlist may or may not be the best for our Air Force (it has to be determined by your experts), but the US has a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act which makes it almost impossible to give bribes. The French, however, while dealing with a foreign country have a much more relaxed attitude to bribes paid abroad to secure contracts and this attitude has become a part of their mental make up of contempt for the foreigner, especially us Indians.
Therefore I demand that you call for the review of the decision taken so far in the matter of purchase of aircrafts for the Indian Air Force. I would urge you to make this review as transparent as possible so that those of us who have technical expertise will give good inputs for you to come to a conclusion.
