Wow! It has been a long time since I posted here on my blog. I have been busy with work and with my dancing career.

Talking about work, I have been employed for about two (2) weeks now and so far, I'm happy with my work. I am working in Borderless Hub Philippines. A Singaporean integrated company that provides Unified Communication solutions.

Last November 10, we had our 1st Anniversary in the office and my new dance group debuted on the same day! I was so busy the whole day with all the preparation for the event on the said date. Here are some photos during those events.

Here is my entry for SM YOUTH's University Campus Icon Contest.

We were asked two questions to answer:

1. Why should you be the SM Youth University Campus Icon?I have the qualities to become a University Campus Icon. I have been part of the Student Council Committee in our school for 3 years and become both Sports and Talents head. Being a performer and a student leader volunteer, a lot of people recognized me, not only personally, but an aspirant of being a model student. Being affiliated with these, it enhanced my inter-personality, likewise on how I socialize with fellow students and generally to others. I always love to create change.

2. If you will receive Php 25,000 cash for your school, what project will you do and why?

If I do receive the Php 25,000, I will propose the 1st Sing and Dance (or talents) concert that will showcase the talents of Ateneans. A concert that will help these talents show what they have and can inspire the everyone and anyone. With this, in the long run, it can also help them come up resources for their upcoming events they want to pursue. If other universities can do it, why not AdDU.

My project is to promote the art of dancing and singing in our school in a whole new different level. This time, it won't be a contest. This will just be a showcase, so that students will not be scared to show what they got.

I got the inspiration when I went to Manila last year to watch DLSU's dance concert entitled Danz Dish. This is an annual event handled by the LSDC-Street dancers. As a dancer, I got inspired to what they show in their concerts. They showcase the different genres or types of dance in a 2-hour concert. They also invite other dancers from different schools or groups to performance in the event.

Here in Davao City, we have this annual dance showcase event handled by the Groove Unlimited Dance Community, which is the GrooveStylez. This is an annual event that showcase the talents of different dancers from different schools and different groups. But not everyone can dance because there is a limited slot for dancers.

Ateneo has a lot of great talents that are just waiting to be discovered. Through this project, I will be able to gather these dancers and singers, and create a one big great show. If ever I win this contest, I will be able to create a mark in our school and in the community. I will be able to help these talents to do what they love and can give entertainment to our fellow Ateneans.

Last Saturday, October 6, 2012, AMARC and The 4th Year Marketing students of Ateneo de Davao University conducted a symposium featuring one of the well-known male Fashion Bloggers in the country, David Guison. The symposium talks about Online Marketing and Self Branding and I personally believe that David Guison fits for this kind of talk for he has established his identity through the internet.

The title of his presentation is Everything You Need To Know About Blogging: Styling, Photography, Business, Marketing. He has showed some of his works and discussed about what are his inspirations in his posts. Being a new in the blogging world, I learned a lot from him. David Guison is my inspiration why I started blogging. (You can check more of him HERE.)

In the symposium, he shared all the knowledge he knows about blogging and how this can help you in online Marketing and Self Branding.

In relation to Online Marketing, choosing Bloggers to promote products or services is a great advantage for the brand. You already know that these bloggers has readers/followers. You already know the segment of his or her market.

David, as an established blogger, he has used his passion for fashion and photography to attain what he has arrived now. He is not afraid to express his feelings and inspirations through the art of fashion and photography. Posting outfit shots and random photos in his blog captured a wide scope of readers and followers.

Through his expression and passion, a lot of brands collaborated with him and through his blog, he got his big break to be the Male Ambassador of Forever 21 Philippines. Isn't it awesome? Even if David has reach his dreams, he remains humble about it.

For 3 years as a blogger, he has achieved a lot and become ambassadors of many brands. He has also traveled around the country to share his knowledge about blogging and photography. As a blogger, he also created business with it. He earns money through his collaborations and his talks. He is like a celebrity now! He has a Handler that manages all the jobs related with money.

In line with Self Branding on the other hand, if you ask people who David Guison is, you will really hear answers like, "He is the Boots guy that has a very cool hair!". Personally, I brand David that way. He was the first man I saw wearing boots in every outfit he posts and he really have a cool hair! Check his looks here.

Self Branding is how you project yourself to people. You yourself can be a brand! It is the way you presented yourself to the people or how people recognized you. Some of the people he mentioned during his talk that are brands them selves are Kim Kardashian, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Tim Yap, Liz Uy, Kimpoy Feliciano and Jamich. They have matched their own self-concept to the image of the brand. When you hear the names Tim Yap and Liz Uy, you'll know that they are socialites. Tim Yap is a well-know partyphile and Liz Uy is a celebrity fashion stylist.

During the symposium, David conducted a styling challenge and luckily we won the challenge. In my group, the stylist was Janvie Tiu and my co-model was Stephanie Chu. We won gift cards worth 500php from SM Accessories. Now I can shopping for more accessories! yipeee! I'm really happy I went to the symposium. It was really worth it and it was fun! It was nice seeing my idol/inspiration again for the second time! Kudos to the 4th year Marketing Students and AMARC for a successful symposium!

PISTAHANG CEBUANA: Silver Anniversary Concert

A Pasasalamat Concert celebrating the 25 years of Cebuana Lhuiller

Last October 5, 2012, Cebuana Lhuiller celebrated their 25th Anniversary with their Davao customers. After the successful concert they had in Manila and Cebu, they also wanted to share the fun in Davao. Davao City is the last leg of the Pistahang Cebuana Pasasalamat Concert.

The concert was held in University of Mindanao Matina Campus Gymnasium. The doors of the venue opened at around 6pm, and as expected, the venue was jam-packed! Having the pop princess perform, there is no doubt that a lot of people wanted to witness her amazing performances. There were some people who wasn't able to go inside the concert hall for they don't have tickets but there were video screens outside the gymnasium to accommodate the unlucky ones.

The performers present were the Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo along with her co-champions Erik Santos and Mark Bautista, and the G-Force. The concert was colorful and has a wonderful Filipino fiesta-themed concert as a part of Cebuana’s silver anniversary.

Sarah Geronimo started the show singing her own version of the song Tayo'y Mga Pinoy by Heber Bartolome, followed by a medley of her hit songs like To Love You More and Forever's Not Enough. After singing a few songs, Sarah introduced her fellow singers Erik Santos and Mark Bautista, and have their performances.

Mark Bautista and Erik Santos serenaded the crowd with their beautiful voices. Erik Santos, proved his being a champion by singing This is the Moment, and damn! It gave me goosebumps! He really is a great singer.

Another performance that gave me goosebumps was when the three champs sang ANAK by Freddie Aguilar. They sang the song in I think 3 different dialects and it was superb! That was one of the highlights of the concert!

In the middle of the concert, Cebuana Lhullier did a raffle giving away cellphones, flat screen tvs, Blackberry Phones, Digital cameras and money amounting to Php 45,000! 24K Cebuana Members were really lucky having these gifts! Cebuana is very generous to their members. A very good way of giving something in return to their members.

As the concert continues, I can really say that Sarah Geronimo is really great and a total performer! She can really sing and dance! She did a Where Have You Been performance with the G-Force and it was really awesome!

Before the show ended, Sarah, Erik, and Mark make the mood fun and nostalgic. They did a medley of a few novelty/variety songs like Pamela One, Jumbo Hotdog, Macho Papa, Bulaklak, and Otso-otso. This segment is very made me sing and dance on my seat! lol. And Sarah sang one of her carrier single in her new album to formally end the show!

The concert was really fun and awesome! Thank you Cebuana Lhullier for bringing the fun in Davao! Thank you for sharing the fun with us. It was really superb! Thank you letting my share the experience with my co-Davao Bloggers! Lastly, thank you Ms. Yanna and Sir Sean from Havas PR Agatep for giving us good seat to enjoy the show!

PRESS CONFERENCE

After the successful concert held in Manila and Cebu, the fun didn't stop there. Cebuana Lhuiller celebrated their 25th Anniversary up until Davao. The celebration in Davao was the last leg of the Pistahan Cebuana. The concert was held in the University of Mindanao Matina Campus Gymnasium last October 5, 2012, 6:00pm.

A day before the concert, Cebuana Lhuiller conducted a press conference in Kanato Room, The Royal Mandaya Hotel. They invited the media and some of Sarah Geronimo's Popsters. Everyone was very excited to see the Pop Princess.

Sarah arrived in the venue.

During the press conference, the questions are were really interesting. Cebuana Lhuiller shared why they chose Sarah Geronimo to be their endorser. Cebuana Lhullier and the Geronimo's relationship started even way before Sarah become a superstar. Cebuana is their outlet whenever they need money for auditions and performances.

The press conference started with questions for the Cebuana Lhuiller and followed by questions for Sarah. Some questions were personal like Sarah Geronimo's love life and her view in the issue of the cybercrime law. She also shared that she will be having a movie with John Lloyd Cruz for Valentines Day.

The press conference didn't last for too long, and everybody was excited for the concert the next day!

FOREVER 21

The much awaited international clothing brand has finally arrived in Davao! Last September 27, 2012, SM Lanang Premier opened its doors to invited Media, Bloggers, and Guests to witness the opening of the first grandest mall in Mindanao. Guest were excited to see what the mall looks like and what it has to offer, and the opening of FOREVER 21. Everyone is looking forward to go inside the store and shop.

Forever 21 started its opening with a fashion show. It was a short one but awesome. They gave a sneak peak of what's there to expect. The models had showcased the clothes very well.

I really agree to what Hannah Magsayo said in her blog, "There is no need of us to be jealous anymore of the clothes from Forever 21 that we only see from our different favorite fashion bloggers and celebrities." Now we have the chance to dress up like them. We don't need to fly a thousand miles to buy the clothes we want from the brand.

Forever 21 SM Lanang has a wide variety of women's clothes, and has only a limited choices for men. I wish that Forever 21 will have basic tees, shoes and accessories for men soon! Nevertheless, the clothes seen in the store are very hip! I love the cardigans and the button-downs! Can't wait to own one! :)

Prawn Tempura – prawn coated in batter and fried into perfect crisp served with sweet tempura sauce.

Pork Tonkatsu – pork coated and fried with Panko breadcrumbs served with Tonkatsu sauce.

Beef Misono – pre-marinated beef in selected seasonings served with sushi sauce.

The media guests were also treated to a Maki-making Demo which showcased 5 kinds of different maki. Some of the guests had the chance to make their own Maki and everybody had a great time. They all agreed that the demo displayed just how much technique and mastery go into making Tokyo Tokyo's delicious and affordable dishes.

Finally, guests were treated with Tokyo Tokyo's most craved Sumo and Bento Meals. Aside from rice meals , Tokyo Tokyo's also served their snackofferings such as Japanese burgers like the Shogun and Shitake Mushroom best paired with Nori Wasabi French Fries and Pearl Milk Teas.

Aside from their famous California Maki, they also have American, Tempura and Spicy Beef makis. They also have Miso Soup, Potato Balls, Onion Rings, and Mango and Green Tea Panna Cottas. Can't wait to try these!

During the soft-opening of Tokyo Tokyo, I was very happy to have a taste of their Beef Misono! It was my favorite along with the Prawn Tempuras and California Maki! Beef Misono really taste like heaven! My hunger was really satisfied with their food! After that day, I was craving again for more of their Beef Misono so I decided to visit Tokyo Tokyo in SM Lanang, and as expected, their store is jam-packed! A lot of Davaoenos can't wait to experience their finest cuisines! Tokyo Tokyo really offers affordable, best quality Japanese dishes! and what I like more is that, they are offering UNLIMITED RICE! Yes! Unlimited Rice! You will surely enjoy your dining experience with them!

Davao City. Life is here!

Davao City has become a business haven. A lot of businesses and establishments are investing in the city. 7 Days from now, Davao will have its newest offering to everyone. After Abreeza Ayala Mall of Davao, and SM City Davao Annex, Davao City has its newest and grandest mall for the record, and take note, it is the first of its kind, the first PREMIER Mall in the city, I guess you already know what I am talking about? Yes! the SM Lanang Premier!

Everybody is excited and looking for the opening of SM Lanang Premier. The official opening will be happening on the 28th of September 2011, Friday at around 10am. But SM Lanang Premier will have its pre-opening on the 27th of September for Forever 21's party. And luckily, I am invited to attend this gathering! :)

SM Lanang Premier is a 4-storey building and will feature Premier Restaurants, Clothing Brands, Facilities, and Amenities. This is a first-class mall, that I heard that will not have a Food Court to preserve the name of being Premier. This will be, I think, be the same with Manila Greenbelt, a very classy type of establishment. SM Lanang Premier is the Region's biggest lifestyle destination. Another feature is that, some flagship stores of international businesses will be opening its first branch in the city.

Things to look forward to in SM Lanang Premier

1. The Skygarden - this will be at the front of the mall which will highlight the facade of the mall and will have restaurants amid a garden which is THE PARK.

2. The Park - is a outdoor area event and will also house some of the fine dining restaurants located at the back portion of the Mall. A dancing fountain is also one of the attractions in The Park. This will be the newest hangout place in town!

3. 5 Digital Theaters, 1 IMAX Cinema, and 1 SM Center Stage

4. SM Bowling Center and Science Discovery Center

5. SMX Convention Center

There will also be a hotel few steps from the mall. The hotel, Park In by Carlton, will be run by Radisson Blu. There will be a bridge connecting the hotel to the mall. Some of the food establishments in Sky Garden will be also closing up late to cater to the guests of the hotel.

There are a lot of restaurants and clothing brands to watch out for and some of there are Toast Box, Dairy Queen, Hog's Breath Cafe, Clawdaddy, Mr. Kurosawa, Forever 21 and Technomarine.

On the day of the official opening of SM Lanang Premier, there are a lot of surprises to watch out for.

2. Party with the hottest celebrity DJ trio The ZOMBETTES, Ornussa Cadness, Mia Ayesa & Sanya Smith, at The Park. 7pm, Sept. 28.

I went to the SM City Davao today to meet up with my cousin and get our invites for the upcoming SM Lanang Premier and Forever 21 opening. (Thank you SM Davao and SM Lanang!) After the many days of staying at home, finally I was able to go out and chill. Stayed in Starbucks for a while to have a cup of my coffee! While waiting for my cousin, I decided to visit one of my fave brands of all time, Artwork!

I am an avid fan of the brand since high school until now. Half of my shirts in my closet are all Artwork. What I like about Artwork is that their graphic tees does not go out of style. It is fun and basic, which is my type of style. It is very youthful! Also, they showcase wonderful shirt designs collaborated with some awesome artist in the country as well as their designs are very nationalistic and humorous. When I visited the store today, I saw a lot of cool tees and here some of those that really got my attention.

This film also celebrates the 10th anniversary of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo's partnership as a love team. It is also the comeback movie of the great Hilda Koronel. Pulling strength from its lead stars, The Mistress is reminiscent of the melodramas of the past featuring complicated relationships, delicious lines but without the usual face-slapping and hair-pulling scenes.

The Mistress is marketed as a four sided love story but I rather call it a four sided tale of love and hurt. This movie is about how anyone can get thrown into circumstances that they can't avoid, makes decisions that seem right at the time and how those same choices ripple to hurt other people. Its about sacrifices, of owning up to your mistakes, of getting hurt and ultimately, of how we can't always get what we want.

The movie isn't as complex as the premise makes it sound. Though it tackles mature subject matter and plays with Oedipal themes, the film is really much more about the love story than it is about the adultery. It focuses largely on the courtship, lingering on scenes of John Lloyd and Bea being nice to each other. It doesn't really do enough to flesh out her relationship with Rico, and that makes her choice feel like a foregone conclusion.

It is a movie about real people, real situations and real reactions. Not all of us may be able to relate to the story or the characters, but I'm sure all of us have made mistakes and wrong decisions in the past and that's where viewers will be able to relate to. The theme of the movie governed all of the characters in the movie - from the cheating husband, the wife who is paying for a past mistake, a son for the circumstances of his birth, and a woman for clinging on the only hope at a time of need and falling in love. Breaking away from Star Cinema's penchant for finding an easy way out to resolve conflicts, The Mistress shows us a painful reality - that when things don't go as you want them to, sometimes all that is left for you to do is close your eyes and dream.

I watched the film twice already and still I am impressed with the acting the actors did with their characters.

I first watched the movie alone last September 13. I watched it on a THURSDAY night! (Once you watched the movie, you'll understand why.) I was able to concentrate in watching and understanding the story and I was not disappointed with the movie. I am really happy and still having a hangover with the scenes from the movie. I did not shed tears watching the movie but had a number of stifled shrieks during confrontation scenes. The Mistress has really intense scenes that really get you. The movie has also a share of comedy brought by K Brosas and the cute little boy Clarence Delgado stars as Mamon.

To the actors

I can really say that Bea Alonzo did a competent job as a lover, mistress, daughter and granddaughter. (I had to include the granddaughter part because I loved her scenes with Anita Linda who is both delightful and heartbreaking as her grandmother.) Bea Alonzo, has able to justify her role as the Mistress. She has made me love and hate her at the same time. Love her because I understand why she chooses to be a mistress. If it's not because of her utang na loob with what Rico has done to her family, she wouldn't be in that situation. She really shows her love to her family. I hate her at the same time because as she said in the movie, "Walang babaeng gustong maging kabit..." but still she chooses to be one and stay as a mistress even if she has a chance to leave the man and love someone else that she truly loves.

I also love Hilda Koronel because she was able to portrayed the role very well. When she said the line, “He is with her every Thursday, every f*ckin’ Thursday f*ckin’ her!”, Ang lutong ng pagkakasabi niya sa linya. I felt her emotion as an angry wife and a pained lover. She really is a great actress.

As for John Lloyd's role, he really showed his emotion as a lover in a complete different level. His character was really a difficult one. Its hard showing affection to someone who gives too much pain to someone you really love. It was really hard being in 2 personas at the same time. As a lover, even if it hurts him knowing the who Sari truly is, he still chooses to pursue and love Sari. All his hatred towards Sari was vanished because of his love towards her.

Favorite Scenes

Talking about favorite scenes from the movie, I can say that there were a lot of beautiful scenes but my favorite parts were, (1) When Sari was giving a demonstration about what she is doing as a Seamstress to JD, while JD is trying to hide what he truly feels. It feels like JD was having a hard time hiding both his anger and affection towards Sari. (2) When Anita Linda, Bea's grandmother in the movie, told her these lines, "Go stand in the corner. Tanggapin mo ang parusa mo." This almost made me shed tears. (3) The confrontation scene where all the secrets we revealed. That was one intense scene! (4) Lastly, my most favorite part was where Sari and JD are having an argument about Sari not leaving his man to stop her from being a mistress, and love JD instead to his only woman. The scene we can see from the trailer.

The movie has also it negatives especially in the editing part of the movie. There are scenes where it jumped to another scene, and there was a scene where Sari was cleaning the window and left it wish soap, and she called JD up, after the phone call, the window was magically cleaned. Those editing problems were irritating and funny at the same time, but those were just small details in the movie and it did not affect the greatness of the movie.

It's already the start of the "BER" months! The time we've all been waiting for cause its near Christmas! :) A lot of new challenges and happy memories to look forward to.

September 1, 2012. The 1st day of the "BER" months. I started my September with an informative and interesting activity. I went to SM City Davao Annex with Lance de Ocampo to listen to Cheyser Pedregosa and Aidx Paredes' Fashion and Photo Blog talk for Canon PhotoSkwela. We got there around 2:30pm and the talk started at 2pm. Yes we were late! (haha). Canon PhotoSkwela has started in the morning but we only went during Cheyser and Aidx segment.

Cheyser and Aidx's talk was very informative. They gave tips that will really help aspiring bloggers to be good in blogging. I learned a lot during the talk. It gave me more motivation to really be serious in blogging and to have my self my own camera.

Aidx talked about Photo Blogging. Here are some of the things he talked about.

Photo Blogging

1. Your photos should be really attractive to your readers.

2. Create a distinguished look on your photos. Your photos will speak in behalf of your blog.

3. Your photos should be consistent. Change gradually not abruptly.

4. This is your online portfolio. Make sure when you showcase your photos, present it well.

5. Promote your blog.

How to post photos:

1. Re-size your photos to 800x1200

2. Your Photos should be edited. You can edit your photos in Photoshop or Photoscape.

3. Sharpen your photos. Details should be clean and clear.

4. Do not over edit photos.

5. Always prepare a caption or a write-up for your photos. Your photos cannot entirely speak for itself. This will make readers to understand what you want them to understand.

Things to achieve in Photo Blogging

(1) IDENTITY | (2) STATEMENT | (3) LOVE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

For Style and Fashion Blog

Use prime lens. 35mm and 50mm and photos should be taken from the bottom perspective to make your subject look taller.

This is a late post about my first high-fashion shoot. This happened last July 7, 2012 at Express Hardware, Damosa, Lanang, Davao City.

The day before the shoot, a friend called me up and asked me if I am free the next day for a shoot, and I said yes. I didn't know that it will be a high fashion shoot along with good models and a great crew. On the morning of the day of the shoot, I also have a photoshoot with Mr. Jervy Navales and I was with my brother on that shoot. (I will post a different blog about it soon!)

As soon as my shoot with Jervy was done, I hurriedly went to the next location for the next shoot. The call-time was 3pm but we started at around 4:30pm. The photographer of the shoot was one of the best photographers in the city, Mr. Kelvin Lau. He was accompanied by his really awesome team namely Mr. Enreikko Navarro, the Creative Director. Mr. Thony Odwens, the Set Designer, Ms. Julie Simbajon, the Mke-up Artist. Mr. Vixenn Towanna, the Stylist, and the clothes are from one of the best designers in Davao, Mr. Emi Alexander Englis.

While waiting for my turn, I was really nervous because I really don't know what to do. It was my first time, but thanks to our creative director, he relaxed me up. He helped me on what poses should I do to make my photos look better.

It was really an awesome experience! I wish to work with them again soon!

This video perhaps is one of the best anti-smoking ad ever created. This video gave me goosebumps.

After watching this video, I stopped for a while and think. I'm having a hard time in controlling my self not to smoke. Whenever I see a friend smoking, I can't stop my self not to get a puff or have a stick. I felt kinda guilty while watching the video, because I keep on reminding my friends that it's not healthy and it has a lot of bad consequences but I don't apply it to my self. I tried stopping but it didn't last for too long. It lasted for only 2 months.

It's a shame that I still need this video to have a wake-up call and decide to stop smoking for good. I hope I can do this for me to live a healthy lifestyle. This is not only for me but for the betterment of the community.

Last Saturday, i had a shoot with Hannah Magsayo (photographer) along with Aidx Paredes (photographer-stylist).

The purpose of the shoot is for me to have a new photos to update my official page. The shoot supposedly is a street-style shoot but due to the scorching heat of the sun that was not bearable with the skin, we made a lil bit tweaked in our setting and peg. Aidx suggested to take the shoot inside the campus (Ateneo de Davao University College) and so we did.

It was my first time working with Hannah, and it his is second time shooting a male model! I had so much fun during the shoot! Looking forward to work again with Hannah and Aidx.

When you love someone and you truly feel it in your heart then let them know, know that regardless of what people say your feelings for that one special person won’t ever change because what you feel is “real”and you know in your mind that person is the one you want to be with.

Remember a relationship is between two people and not three. If they make you happy with everything they do and they are able to make you smile like no other person can make you smile then cherish them and let them know how special they are to you.

Let them know that they are loved by being there for the when they need you to be. Instead of being the reason they are sad, be the reason they smile and make them happy.

Life’s to short to listen to what other people say, so like I said if what you feel in your heart is genuine love for that special someone then go with it and let them know regardless of what other people may think or say. The decision of who you choose to love is fully up to you and no one else, remember that.
