As a girl with a fascination to gadgets and tech toys it’s not a huge surprise that I love owning and having geeky things around the house. That doesn’t mean of course that my boyfriend likes it but it is, what it is. Below are a few super cool, gadgetry and fantastic items that are on my wish list. Why you ask? Because they are cool and one can never have too many gadgets and super cool items.

Light Show Fountain Speakers – I just love these speakers from Think Geek! Just plug them into your iPod, mp3 player, or computer via the included USB cable and start up your tunes: the water dances to the beat and the 4 multi-colored LEDs will light up. What’s particularly great about these? No pumps or complicated instructions needed like most fountains and water gadgets. Since the boyfriend doesn’t share this little obsession with me, I’m all about easy so that I don’t need help. I’m also quite fond of the speakers that hide inside this lampshade; totally awesome and would look great in the den. Patio Designs – Pinterest is one of my favorite sites, if not my most favorite. I love looking through various photos with my most recently liking being . But I have several boards across several interests for all of my favorite things from books to recipes and so much more.

Rock Paper Scissors – Is there any greater show than The Big Bang Theory? I say not. Each set comes with seven different-colored dice. Each has 5 sides of battling power (rock or paper or scissors or lizard or Spock) and one side of roll again.

Camera Lens Mug – When you have an affliction to daily caffeine consumption, one can never have too many coffee mugs and of all the ones that I have, this is better than the rest! It looks like a real camera lens. Not to mention it’s a great conversation starter. Not a mug, but totally cool are the

Dexter Blood Splattered Coasters, I simply love them and must have them immediately. I can also think of more than a handful of people that would love getting these as a gift. There are not enough hours in the day to list all the geeky items that I have or that remain on my wish list that grows exponentially day by day. But I’d love to know what your favorite geeky items are so I can add them to my list or see if I already have them.

Whether you are on the hunt for a new handbag or the best computer deals, below are some of the best mobile shopping apps to help you quickly find what you need but to also save you time and most importantly, money!

The thing is, I love geeky/tech toys and gadgets but I don’t like to shop; which means using my smartphone and the right apps. When someone mentions the mall I absolutely cringe, I will go if I have too, but if I can avoid it I always will.

Amazon Price Check – I have to admit, I am a loyal Amazon fan. When I need to buy something online, chances are that Amazon.com is my first choice and they usually have what I need at the best price or comparable. The app lets you access pricing right on your smartphone or iPhone and you can order from your device immediately. This works well for impatient minded people such as me.

BuyVia – It’s simple, use this app to find the best deals, steals and coupons on smartphones, laptops, cameras and more. Best of all, the app is Free.

Goodzer – This app is specifically designed to help you find what you need locally so that you can go out and buy it right away and not wait for it to be shipped. It’s nice to have the option for the times that you just can’t wait.

RedLaser – Shop smarter, save more. The app scans the barcode then helps find local places to buy what you need, so that you can order with your phone and then pick up from the store. Alternatively you can compare online prices to see if buying locally is indeed cheaper.

ShopSavvy – Scan a product, review your order and submit. The app search results to find the items you are looking for cheaper, suggests sales dates, coupon codes and rebates. One of the best features of the app is the User Generated content – if the app doesn’t have the product you are seeking, just tell them and they will find it.

Guessing the right value for items, especially big purchases such as cell phones and laptops, can be confusing at best as can knowing where to look for what you need. Price comparison apps are simply the easier way of shopping in today’s mobile world. I’m not sure how we all survived before the use of tablets and smartphones but when used right they really can help with everything from a simple to-do list to shopping right from your phone and being productive with work.
