Big Guy Shadows are uncommon off the rack, especially with color work.
This one is glassed with s-cloth and a volan deck patch.

These sweet 2+1's adopt an old template of Mike's. He's put all kinds of subtle and nifty modern refinements into them.
Flatter nose rocker than the GH Astro Eggs and a much pinnier tail. Soft blended rails.
The one with the earthy airbrush is 6'6" x 20 1/2" x 2 1/2"
The one with the blue airbrush is 6'8" x 21" x 2 5/8"
Shown with a Greenough 7.5" 4A fin, but the 7" might be better. The sweet little sidebites were made for us by Jack Jensen from a template of Mani Caro's.
Mike calls this board the "Nano".

Avery Hanel Donation Site now online

Hello friends of Surfy Surfy,

You all know our longtime surfboard shaper Gary Hanel. GH's 2 year old granddaughter Avery has been going through chemotherapy for a rare disease. Avery is going to begin receiving stem cell therapy. Obviously Aveery's parents Peter and Alex cannot work regular jobs during this time, so a donation site has been set up for them.

On March 28th 2012 Avery was taken to children's hospital for what everyone thought was a flu. Our lives were turned upside down in the blink of an eye. What followed was a litany of tests, procedures, extended hospital stays, and treatments to sustain our beautiful 2 year old Avery while doctors searched for a diagnosis. 120 blood and platelet transfusions, 6 bone marrow biopsies and 7 months of chemotherapy later we have a diagnosis- MDS (myelodystlastic syndrome). Our next step is a stem cell transplant (cord blood). To make this miracle work this month we will be admitted to the children's hospital, in the pediatric oncology ward for a minimum of 2 to 5 months of hospitalized ISOLATION. Starting with an intense regime of chemotherapy, to kill her immune system so she can receive the stem cell transplant. We are blessed that we have 3 possible matches.

It's hard to talk about money when there are many more important things on our hearts but it too is a reality. Because of Avery's extended hospitalizations and compounding medical bills we need help. We will be living in the Ronald McDonald house while we stay by our angels side during her brave fight. We are asking for donations to help offset all the costs. While all the money is going out nothing is coming in. We humbly ask for any help you can give, knowing these times are difficult for everyone. If you cannot give financially we ask that you hold our family up in prayer, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. These donations will allow us to be by our baby girls side while she fights the fight of her life. The Hanels

Blue Blue Gil

The Blue Gil is a foam and fiberglass cheater Alaia with small nubby twin fins.
These things are super fun. I rode one for the first time at the Paipo Stoke Fest last September.
It's pretty amazing, easier to surf than you think (at least for me, frontside. Backside was a challenge). Fast, trimmy, groovy and it's fulfilling when it breaks loose into a controlled slide and then reconnects.
