Het is ontstaan in de tijd van de slavernij, de slaven bereidden deze schotel van de kliekjes die er over waren, zoals kip, vlees en groenten. Er is eigenlijk geen vast recept voor moksi alesie, je kunt zelf bepalen wat er in gaat. Dit is een basisrecept, maar je kunt er ook garnalen of andere groenten doorheen doen.&lt;br&gt;

Je hoeft alleen maar rijst te koken, de snelle sajur te maken en er een gebakken lekkerbek of wat gebakken calemares bij te doen en je maaltijd is compleet. Ondanks dat het er niet opzienbarend uit ziet, is het verrassend lekker. Vergeet niet de sambal!&lt;br&gt;

Dit kost echter wat meer tijd om de vis eerst te bakken. Een alternatief is om gerookte makreel te gebruiken. In Nederland wordt gerookte makreel ook gebruikt op toastjes en tussen een vers broodje. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;

Ze worden gebakken met ui, knoflook en peper en er worden vaak stukjes gefrituurde aardappel aan toegevoegd. In Suriname wordt het flink gepeperd gegeten. Het is een eenvoudig recept wat je snel kunt maken als je geen zin hebt om uitgebreid te koken.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
