Need Logo Help

I am in a brain...

I am in a brain fart for past couple of weeks on a logo I am developing and I can't figure out what else or how I can make the logo work.

The logo is for a dance competition held at Penn State University. It is a traditional dance from India fused with modern elements of dance which has recently began to pick up on a high competitive level.

A little history on the type of dance:
Raas: Raas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Garba: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garba_(dance)

Here is the first logo:
:: Dandia on Fire 2008 :: (logo is on the top left in the header)

2nd logo:
http://dandiaonfire.com/doflogo.jpg

And this is what I have so far:
http://dream.dublee.com/dof/dofNP.jpg

Anyone have any thoughts how I could make it flow more? Or anything at all?
I wanted to stay with the original concept with a hand holding the stick (dandia - a prop used in the dance) with a flame to portray the name Dandia On Fire

Hi all, sorry for...

Hi all, sorry for what will probably amount to another stupid question...

I signed up a few weeks ago, got the welcome emails and changed the domain's nameservers to point to the new server and everything worked fine. But now my site won't load, I checked using my mobile broadband and also parents' and work computers...

This works:
http://66.7.205.59/~mexicora/
http://66.7.205.59/cpanel/

This doesn't:
http://www.mexicorazon.com
http://www.mexicorazon.com/cpanel
http://www.mexicorazon.com:2082/

I just get the normal error page from Firefox (Failed to Connect, Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at mexicorazon.com... blah blah blah)

Sorry, you can probably tell I don't know much about websites... can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks heaps!

At the same time, I can hear the blasting zone in the street as they set off more fireworks than the City. This makes it quite hard to concentrate on work. Somehow, my 1 year old is actually asleep as well.
I'm hoping a firework accidently lands in their car or something.

Is there a problem...

Is there a problem with SH148 today? Aside from server loading spike up to 9.X, as shown in the screen capture, which is making the server very slow for just about any request, FTP is nearly completely broken as either it won't connect, or when it does connect, I'm unable to get any directory listings before the connection is reset. Even when the server load does manage to get back into normal range, FTP is still almost unusable.

I don't mean to sound hard, but despite I don't use my account much, the times I do, I'm finding it often is unavailable or having other performance related issues. This is the 2nd time I've tried Surpass Hosting with the same issues :disbelief

Well, as the army has deemed it necessary to not allow me the time to manage a hosting business, I am having to give it up as of Aug 1st (give current customers time to move to a new host, with a recommendation for Surpass :D ) and Iwill be trading in my VPS account for a shared hosting account for my texas blog. Boring. But, don't have a need for a VPS anymore until I start using up a bunch of resources. I like fiddling with things on the server and breaking them, then having to restore a backup lol. But, alas, it is not ment to be at the moment.
Here to the support guys that helpped learn me a few things. I send :lovelette to ya :D

When I go to http://sub.mydomain.com/ it works.
When I refresh or go to http://sub.mydomain.com/dir/index.html it fails with "too many redirects".

All I want is, when I navigate to mydomain.com or sub.mydomain.com, for the redirect to go to sub.mydomain.com/dir/index.html

I see nothing circular about this. What gives?

Also, by default my site is not automatically loading index.html. I thought this was always automatic - do I need to do a redirect for that as well?

Hi,

I've been having intermittent problems on some of my Joomla sites hosted with yourselves. When I try to install some extensions I get:

There was an error uploading this file to the server.
Unable to find install package

Now usually this is due to a dodgy XML file or similar but I've installed the exact same extension on other sites hosted elsewhere without a problem so this narrows it down to the hosting environment. I'm on Pass82 if that helps and I would greatly appreciate any help I can get on this.

Many thanks,

Hi there,
I've...

Hi there,
I've just taken up a shared UK hosting deal and am very pleased so far. I'm hoping to move a few client's sites over to this server during the next couple of weeks and have been testing a few things out in preparation.

My question relates to outgoing email. I've used the conventional pop and smtp settings in my test account and am having trouble recieving these in hotmail. It's a problem I've had in the past on accounts without authenticated smtp and I've been mainly using 1and1 recently because their auth.smtp settings seem to mean clients outgoing messages don't end up in junk filters.

Can anyone suggest a solution? Incidentally I've tried the SSL settings provided in my account details but these don't work at all. Would I need to have an SSL certificate for the domain I'm sending from for this to work?
