PC Surround Sound

I have just bought a Sony DAV-DZ 260 home theatre surround sound system and have it hooked to my PC through the 3.5mm headphones jack. I can hear the sound perfectly but the only speaker transmitting sound is the front left one. I’d like to be able to configure it so that I can watch things saved on my hard drive with the added bonus of surround or even stereo sound. Any ideas?

I am looking to purchase a pair of Turtle Beach PX21 headphones for my PS3 so that I can hear EVERYTHING while playing Modern Warfare 2. I have looked into the PX21′s and it says that they are STEREO and not Surround Sound. My questions is, will I be able to distinguish if someone is not only to my right or left, but in front or behind me in? Does it offer a 360 degree field of hearing? Thanks for the help!!

I have two questions. I have been strongly considering purchasing the Tritton ax 720. I have never used surround sound headsets. For gaming, are these truly worth the purchase or are they a joke? If they are worth the purchase, which surround sound headphones 5.1 would you suggest? I’ve heard Tritton, Logitach (which I’m hesitant to buy), Astro, etc. are nice. I really cannot afford to buy a good sound system to play with my PS3 and 360, but I’m looking to buy some good headphones for gaming so I can experience the sound in my movies and games better.
