Media Insiders - Earn with the App!

If you haven't already tried out Media Insiders, you might want to consider it. I have been a member since January and have received $5 each month for running their app on my phone. You can earn rewards for up to three devices. The devices that they are currently accepting are the following:

Their payments are processed through Tango Card. You can redeem your Tango Card for merchandise from brands like Gap, Target, Starbucks, Home Depot, Amazon and more! You can also choose to donate your rewards to charity, use rewards for online game currency, or even redeem your rewards for cash.

The process of redeeming your rewards is easy. Whenever you receive the email from Media Insiders with your Tango Card number and pin, you will then enter it at Tango Card. You will then be asked to choose what type of reward you would like: Purchase Gift Cards, Donate to a Charity or Redeem for Cash. If choosing Gift Card, select the brand of gift card you would like. Enter your name, the value of the gift card and an email address, then submit. Tango Card will then send you an order summary listing the amount and type of gift card. You should receive the gift card within 24 hours of submitting your order.

Recently, Media Insiders has updated their app so now requires you to connect to VPN. This would require you to confirm connection to the Media Insiders VPN every time your phone is powered off. This is an annoyance for some and for others they dont agree with sharing such information. Surveys.com Relocated to AskGfk

Surveys.com announced earlier this month that it would was relocating to AskGfk. They have transferred all member data over to their new website, you are now able to log-in as well. I find the new website easier to navigate, its a little more organized and has a better template. There is one thing that does throw me off - the orange as the main picture. But overall its a step up from the old website that they were sporting - it was a much needed face-lift.

What I really like about this new website is that it tells you how many points you have and the points available to earn. It took me 2 or 3 steps to find out what my point balance was on the previous website. On AskGfk they have it as soon as you log-in, now that's convenient!

Want to earn more points? Click on the "earn points" button and it will take you to your survey page. There it will list the surveys that are available to take as well as when the survey started, when it ends, how many points it is worth and the status of the survey (open,closed, etc).

It seems surveys are still being routed through Surveys.com, but this is expected to change with time. With this change I am hoping to see more engaging surveys, ones that are innovative and non-repetitive. We can only what and see what else is to come.

HCD Surveys - Scam Warning

HCD Surveys (HCD Research) has sent an email out to its survey panel members warning them of a potential scam alert. If you are a member of read below for more information:

Dear Panel Member,

Our company name, logo and other information was used by an unknown entity to unlawfully send out fraudulent checks in an attempt to scam people out of their hard-earned money. These checks were not sent by HCD Research, and have nothing to do with HCD Research in any way. They were mailed by someone or some organization that used our identity for fraudulent purposes. However, they attempt to fool people into thinking the checks are from us. The checks are NOT from HCD Research, and have no monetary value.

These checks are sent from a variety of locations around the country, and are sometimes accompanied by an email that is made to look like it’s coming from us. We can assure you, they are not. They sometimes mention “mystery shopping” and “customer feedback” as part of the deception. They also ask the recipient to deposit the check into their personal account and wire money through a money transfer service such as Western Union to a random account number. However, the check is fraudulent, and will ultimately bounce even if it is accepted by a bank for deposit or for cash. You will most likely, be held responsible for any money from a fraudulent check that you spend, withdraw or receive in cash from a bank or check cashing service. Therefore, any money that you transfer by wire will be your responsibility.

HCD Research has never run mystery shopper programs, and does not perform any type of check studies in this fashion in which a check is sent prior to your providing research feedback.

This type of scam is also being run using names from other market research companies. Please be wary of any check from a market research or research panel company that comes to you unsolicited and in a very high dollar amount.

If you believe you have received a fraudulent check from HCD Research, please DO NOT attempt to cash it under any circumstances.

Finally, please be aware that we at HCD Research are doing everything in our power to stop the perpetration and furtherance of this scam. If you have cashed the check, please contact your bank and your local law enforcement.

Resolution Research Merging with Opinion Square

Earlier today, Opinion Square announced on its Facebook page that Permission Research will be merging with them. Permission Research, which is Opinion Square's sister site, is closing its points program March 31st of this year. If you are a member of Permission Research you will need to either spend your point or transfer them to Opinion Square. There is not an option to transfer points on Permission Research's website as of yet, but there have been members commenting on Opinion Squares Facebook page asking how this is to be done, so hopefully an answer will be given soon.

SayNation Closes its Doors

If you have recently tried to access SayNation you may have noticed what use to be their main page now comes up as an unowned domain. It seems that they sent out emails to members a few days prior to the start of the new year stating that they would be closing indefinitely.

There have been some members that noticed a decrease in surveys over the past year and problems with rewards redemption. There was very little customer support, which some suggest, may have been caused from a lack of employees. Of course, these are only speculations. It just goes to show you never know when a survey site will close.

Synovate Global Opinon Panels Changes Ownership to Ipsos

A few weeks back Synovate Global Opinion Panels sent out an email informing their panelists of upcoming changes that will make being a survey taking more enjoyable. They also emphasized how this change would bring about a new website, more reward options, new survey layout as well as additional opportunities for contests and sweepstakes.

Many of you who read this email were probably thinking more along the lines of revamping the site, and even perhaps using a little social networking to add to the features that had been announced. I personally didn't expect a change of ownership. Below is the email I received yesterday explaining the changes that have taken place.

   I'm not sure how I feel about the change yet. At the least, I am hoping the convergence of points from Synovate to i-Say is fair. I do, however, like that you can cash out through PayPal at i-Say. The minimum to cash out through PayPal is 1500 points which is $15. So $1 for 100 points, which isn't too bad of a conversion in the survey world. They also have other methods of payment such as Amazon gift cards, iTunes certificates, American Express gift cards, check, donations or you can use your points for entries in sweepstakes.

   The great thing I noticed about their rewards system is that all the rewards are consistent with points vs dollars. Sometimes you will notice at other survey sites that if you want to cash out through PayPal it may cost you 1700 points instead of the 1500 points that an Amazon gift card will cost you. At i-Say its 1500 points for $15 and it does matter how you want it!

We are looking for people of Hispanic descent to participate in a 3 stage study. You MUST agree to participate in all 3 stages at the time of booking.

Stage 1: Online Bulletin Board

The first stage of this study is a 3 day online discussion that will happen on August 14^th, 15^th, & 16^th. You will be a part of what we call an online bulletin board, which is a web board where you can post your comments and read others’ comments. You will be joined by a small group of people in your age group. The topic of the discussion will be what life is like for you at the moment! We are sure you will find the discussion very interesting.

A moderator will be leading the discussion and posting questions which you will need to respond to throughout the day. All information you post will be held strictly confidential. Only other respondents and the moderator will be able to view your profile.

You will be compensated $125 via check for this portion of the study.

Stage 2: Face to Face Interview

Following the online discussion, we will invite a select number of people for an interview that will take place in your home. The topic of the discussion will be life at the moment so the discussion should be a lot o fun! The interview will last approximately 1.5 hours and it will be necessary for you to stay the entire time. The interview may be video taped for research purposes only. Stage 3: Self-Ethnography/Video Diaries

MySurvey Reward - Payment

I officially received my reward from MySurvey and I couldn't be happier!

I initially was going to redeem my points at Opinion Square for the OXO 10 Piece POP Container Set but I was a couple hundred points short and I had no more surveys available - ugh. I was so close! I went on as usual with my survey taking and ended up doing one at MySurvey. I realized how many points I had collected there and began to browse the rewards center. Success! They had the same set available! I researched what would be cheaper, an Amazon e-certificate to buy the set or getting the set through MySurvey - I ended up getting it through MySurvey. The conversion from points to money would have only given me $75 to work with at Amazon and the price for the OXO 10 Piece POP Container Set is just under $100. I probably saved $20 or more doing it this way.

Profiles & Screeners - What You Should Know

It is common to here someone say "It seems like I hardly ever receive surveys". I know when I started signing up for a bunch of survey sites I didn't bother going through and doing all the profiles for every survey site. The result, hardly any surveys to participate in. If you aren't getting many surveys it may be that you haven't completed these profiles, which are crucial to receive surveys. If they don't have idea about your lifestyle then how do they know what surveys may be of interest to you?

Screeners, what are they? Screeners are short surveys, usually less than 5 minutes long. These help them understand what activities you are interested in, what foods you like to eat or what brands you use, etc. Screeners are send you are for a reason - to increase your eligibility for surveys or studies. If they know what activities you enjoy from a sceener the more likely they will send you a survey when market research is being done on that particular subject.

You are probably thinking profiles and screeners sure do sound like the same thing. You are partially right, they are similar. However, the reason why you receive these is becuase your profile stated you were interested in that subject. For example: Your profile said you were interested in sports, there is a new survey coming up on sports, sometimes a particular sport. They then send you a screener to see if the sport they are conducting research about is one of your favorites. This helps them target a specific group of people to get the most accurate results possible.

American Consumer Opinion Panel - My Eighth Payment!

I received another payment from American Consumer Opinion Panel this past week. When taking their surveys you are fairly compensated either by points, cash, gifts and even product tests (my favorite!). Although their way of recording incentives is now by points instead of by dollars. Don't worry, points convert equally to cash amounts, 100 points is equal to $1 and when you get 1,000 points ($10) you can cash out via check.

One thing I really like about American Consumer Opinion Panel is that they are international. I have had so many people outside the US and Canada tell me they have such a hard time finding international survey sites. I immediately recommend American Consumer Opinion Panel, not only because they are international but becuase there are so many great aspects of the company. They are BBB certified with an A+ grade - yes an A+, that's amazing! Compensation for surveys/studies/product tests are fair, along with points conversion being great. I have noticed when some survey sites convert to a points system the amount per point decreases compared to the time it takes to participate in a survey. Another thing that makes then a good survey panel is that their members are happy.

Overall I think American Consumer Opinion Panel is one of the top 10 survey panels out there. If you want to see more payment proofs or want to browse through the posts about them head over here!

Survey Savvy - Increase in Surveys

Over the past few months I have noticed quite an increase in surveys from Survey Savvy. Not only that but the compensation for surveys has gotten slightly better as well. Some survey sites give you $0.75-$1 for a 20-30 minute survey. I received a couple from Survey Savvy that were 15-20 and compensated you with $1-$3.

Also have yo checked out the new look of their website? They went from a plain white background to a steel blue background, also navigation of the site is more user friendly too! I really like the new look and design of the website. The Members section has also improved, everything is in on spot to check or change your address, profiles, earnings and more.

If you haven't joined Survey Savvy I recommend at least giving it a try. If your skeptical if they pay check out my payment proof from them. They are legit and a great survey site to become a member of to share your opinions!

As a panelist, you will be periodically invited to participate in studies. They have three different type of panels that you can choose:

If you're interested in joining you should also know that registration is simple! You will have to complete a short questionnaire about yourself, this is to help match you with surveys that you will be interested in. Of course all surveys/studies are voluntary and your privacy will be protected. You should also be truthful in each survey/study you participate in to insure they can gather correct data for their research.

You may be interested to know that Resolutin Research does varies types of studies, so if you are looking for more than just online surveys you may have luck with this panel. Below are the types of research they conduct:

Online surveys where a pre-programmed questionnaire is answered entirely online;

Online focus groups or bulletin boards where questions and answers flow in an online discussion that may take an hour or span a two or three day period;

In-person focus groups held at a facility in your city or at an event you’re attending;

Telephone surveys where you answer questions read to you by an interviewer;

A diary or camera journal that records interaction with a particular product or service;

In-home new product tests (e.g., window coverings, salad crispers, electric toothbrushes, etc. – you almost always get to keep the product);

Taste tests where you go to a facility in your city, eat and/or drink and give your opinion;

Resolution Research: About: Study Types

Compensation for their studies range from sweepstakes entries to $5-$400 giftcards/cash, free products and more. This all depends on the sponsor and length of the study. They have stated on their website that on average, panelists participant in 3-6 studies a year. The more studies you participate in the greater your reward. You can request payment once you have 45 points which is a $10 Visa Cash Card. There are also a couple other alternatives such as music downloads, donations and a monthly sweepstakes.

From a personal stance on study participation, I would like to think that if you completed surveys/studies for a particular research company that they then may be more inclined to invited you to studies more frequently because of your past participation. I also think being detailed can also set you apart from other participants, whether it is about a new lotion you were sent to test or a movie trailer for an upcoming movie. But remember detailed does not mean exaggerated or dishonest, always try to provide honest answers.

If you are currently buying baby diapers this might be a good test for you. Like the majority of our studies we begin the process via email. If you are interested in being part of the study, please respond to this email and include the following:

What is your baby's current weight?

What brand of diapers do you buy most often?

And last, please include your full name, phone number and best time to reach you.

If you qualify for this particular study you will be sent different diapers to compare. You will use each bag of diapers for approximately one week. You will be required to record each usage which takes less than 30 seconds per change. At the end of each bag you will complete an on-line survey giving your opinions about the diapers.

New Studies From 20/20 Research

20/20 Research has a couple new studies available, both of them pay fairly well.

The first one is an online study for IT professionals needed, this study starts June 14-15 and pays $150. You will need to complete a short pre-screener survey to see if you qualify, if you qualify you will be contacted with additional information concerning the study.

Dentists and dental hygienists are needed for a new online study, it starts June 10th and pays $150. As explained in the previous study description you will need to complete a short pre-screener survey as well.
