One of my favorite kind of handguns is a very light and portable pistol, commonly called a Kit Gun.

These are primarily suited for target shooting or small game, but some actually have enough accuracy and power to stop an animal the size of a coyote.

I carry a lot of EDC stuff in my front pockets. I typically wear jeans and I have a couple of size 40 jeans that will hold my stuff but they are loose. But I actually fit into size 38, but my pockets don't hold all my stuff. Are there particular brands that have bigger pockets or is it the looseness of the 40s that let me stuff the pockets? I don't want cargo pockets.

I am always way too nosy when checking out old barns or just about any building that has been standing for a long time. But these days could be anything only 20 years old. Seeing the pickers shows on the tube, they do run across a lot of cool stuff. While I had plenty of chances growing up to see some neat stuff, at that time was not so interesting like would be these days.

So, I tried to suppress my smallest P365 with a variety of suppressors, but physics and geometry have made it difficult. Extreme measures taken.

I finally got my Stealth Additive Works (SAW) Shiv 9mm suppressor. Direct thread only and 2.5oz.

I'm a farmer in rural Nebraska. All I can say is that this Amazon expansion into rural areas and small rural communities has been a godsend for me.

I can order a part---whether for a vehicle, tractor, or equipment---and it is delivered the next day.

They even deliver on Saturdays and Sundays. I live 35 miles from the nearest farm supply store. On weekends, the few hardware and farm parts sources still left in these little towns around me are closed. Or usually don't have the part I...

Today was a glorious day for round 2 of 6.5 PRC load development w/Tubul 8000.

I was also able to find 200 round of 6.5 143 gr ELD-X, 140 gr SST and 140 gr Game King. 200 Round of .30 220 gr ELD-x and 140 gr Evolution. ALL at normal prices. The good lord wants me to make more bullets.

I was alerted to a flash deal on Amazon for AAA Enleloops (noted in Deal of The Day thread) and it got me to wondering about rechargeable batteries.

The consensus for a long time was the white Eneloops were the ones to get. I did just order some, and I have some other NiMH chemistry, but now lithium chemistry is becoming more mainstream.

I like that the lithium are 1.5v instead of 1.2v, but that also means getting a different charger. There are also concerns (in my mind anyway) of the...

Yes, I have a Mossberg Shockwave, now an SBS that I really. Yes, I have a Beretta 1301 Tac Mod 2 that I really, really like.

I just purchased the new Mossberg Aftershock M990 SPX (pistol grip version) and will Form 1 in and add a Magpul stock for a sweet little semi-auto SBS. The SPX verison was reconfigured to work better as an SBR (Mossberg now sells an SBS version…). I’m not even a shotgun guy, but man, I like short barrel shotguns!

What would everyone suggest for self defense for someone who does not have the ability to buy a gun in this country? I saw in the news my old company is laying off over 400 people this summer and blaming AI again. I knew there would be multiple layoffs because the document they gave us to track our time said stage 1. You don't number things if it's only going to happen once.

So I was with a few friends tonight, and one of them asked what each of would do if the grid suddenly went down...... no idea why, but all power was off. Let's say it's mid-day.

2 different folks said they'd run to the grocery store to get what they could, but of course be armed, and be able to pay in cash.

The only thing I could come up with for myself was to run down the street to the corner convenience store and grab some candy (pay in cash). I think I'm generally pretty well prepared...

My neighbor just bought an 870 pump at the gun show. It has a screw in choke. I do not know how to measure it but he is concened about what he can put through it. I told him to drop by a gunsmith and he can tell you what choke is in it. I believe he can shoot most buck shot through it. It is strictly going to be for home defense.

Today I did some research on heirloom seeds and passed the info on, to some friends. Also will be hitting the pool to get the exercise in. Will be reading my survival manual during my down time tonight.

Prepping can be quite overwhelming to beginners, but doable in bite sized pieces.

New Radiacode Zero

Radiacode seems to be pushing a higher range version of their instruments called the Radiacode Zero, but this time marketed towards life safety purposes. Not sure how I feel about this, I think they're trying to tap into the market for preppers, given the escalation in conflict overseas but such a complex subject can lead the layperson to a false sense of security and poor understanding of the nuances.

It loses the spectrograph capability of it's brothren and increases the range to 9 Sv/h...

I’ve been working with my large 9mm pistols, sorting out reliability with a can, and I finally got a threaded barrel for my CZ Shadow 2. And it’s the one. No issues with my subsonic reloads or commercial subs, accurate, fast, and shooting it just makes me happy. Weighs nearly 4 lbs loaded with the can, light and RDS.
