I picked up a 44 Springfield M1 Garand. Someone was telling me you cant use commercial hunting ammo unless you put on an adjustable gas regulator. All new to me. I owned one years ago but traded it before I shot it. Any of your knowledge would be appreciated.

If there was another event like the Covid 19 event what would you do different this time? If you only had 24 hours to buy supplies before the stores ran out what would you stock up on?

We try to be as diversified as possible , meat, eggs, dairy and produce

My son 13 has recently started showing an interest in shooting. I’ve taught him a little.

he went to camp and had a rifle lesson.

when he was small he was basically ambidextrous but has grown into being right handed. He thinks he’s left eye dominant. I want to check myself to see if course. But he got that form Boy Scouts. He has 20/20

2026 Drought - How are You Coping?

I talked to my sister today. She's my next door neighbor and was telling me about the drought. Usually she would be planting two greenhouses and about eight raised beds. She did not plant her raised beds this year because of water restrictions.

Okie dokie. Got my unit the other day and put it together. It didn't take long. All you need is a small Phillips screw driver and some patience. It's hard to screw up the assembly. Today was a glorious day for round 2 of 6.5 PRC load development w/Tubul 8000.

I was also able to find 200 round of 6.5 143 gr ELD-X, 140 gr SST and 140 gr Game King. 200 Round of .30 220 gr ELD-x and 140 gr Evolution. ALL at normal prices. The good lord wants me to make more bullets.

Last night, I spent well over an hour trying to track down a buzzing sound out near the patio that was driving me crazy.

It sounded like a phone on vibrate going off over and over and over again, or a stranded newborn lamb, but every time I got close, it stopped.

When I finally figured out what it was, I couldn't stop laughing.

I found a device in the portable bathroom at work. It's shaped like a hockey puck, magnetic on one side.
It has a green LED light and looks to have some circuit boards. Someone cut a small hole in one side of it. There is a power source because the light is on. I have no clue what this is or who put it there. If anyone has an idea, please share it. I was thinking of cutting it open and I could show the components inside.

Spring is here! Happy, happy!

So, what are you harvesting now and how are you storing it? Love to hear what everyone's busy with.

Here on the Gulf Coast, I've dug my Louisiana multiplier onions (walking onions aren't ready yet). Hung some in an old peanut net bag and froze the rest.

Picked enough rose petals to make a little rose petal jelly that I canned up.

Dehydrated strawberries, enough for 2 pints. Never again-too much slicing!

Hoping for dewberries in the next couple...
