We are the armies of God. The proverbs said, "in waging war you need guidance". We cannot fight this battle alone. We need the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So that our steps will be directed. We should not be moved even though we stumble and fall for we stand on Christ, our solid Rock. All others are just plain sand. We will not be moved. Jesus will reign in the end. The battle has already won!

Sing Your Way Through Times of Trouble

But I will sing of your strength,
in the morning I will sing of your love;

my refuge in times of trouble.

In times of stress, when I am in such a difficult situation, when my heart is speechless, I find strength in singing unto the Lord and praising His name and love. As much as we want to be spared from all problems, it's not a very savvy wish. As Bishop Bong Udang says, "Kung mag-ampo ka nga mawala ang imong problema, mura ka ug nag-ampo nga mamatay na ka." (Praying that all your problems be gone is like praying that you will die.) For as long as we live in this world, there will always be problems. God did not promise that we will never have problems, but He promised that we will always have refuge in times of difficulties.

My journey as a Christian is not a smooth road. When I found that I was pregnant (out of wedlock), there was a part of me that could not accept my situation. I was too concerned on what others would say to me.

Or what kind of sister I am..

What kind of Christian I am...

I became too focused on my imperfections.

But I gained strength when I stopped looking at myself. I turned my gaze to my Master. That is why the Psalm said "sing of Your strength; sing of Your love" for there is no strength in me, no love in me, if I ain't got You (to the tune of Alicia Keys, roowtz! JK). Ehem, back to serious tone, God's plan does not revolve in you alone, He's woven a more complex and intricate plan for all of those who love Him. And He is an amazing transformer, no He won't turn you into a soulful autobot.

He would turn your ~~mess~~ into a wonderful message of his love,
your ~~tests~~ into miraculous testimonies
and your ~~trials~~ into victorious triumph.

And like the weather, our seasons of trouble is only a temporary term. It is nothing compared to the flood of blessings that is about to come. I have this habit that while I wait for someone in a meeting or when I am stuck in a long line, I sing a song inside my head, or turn my cellphone on and put my headset so that I could not feel the stress of waiting. So, whilst waiting for the season of trouble to finish, just sing through it, sing to the Lord as if you're thanking a friend ahead for a wonderful gift to come. It is fun and you would replace the stress of anxiety and bitterness. Believe me, you will feel better. :-) May God bless you!!!

Busting Some Baby Teething Myths

So baby opened her mouth to put on her toy, you notice a white diamond lying on those thick gums and you realize my, oh my! It's a ~~tooth!~~

Yes, I noticed, okay it was my mother who saw, the teeny-tiny temporary baby tooth sprouting from Annieka’s firm lower gums. Finally, her first tooth!!! Happy Mommy!

But honestly I was really afraid to hear from the experiences of many the symptoms of baby teething. That is because I’m scared that I might not know what to do, so I informed myself of the facts before my baby actually starts to teeth.

Some babies start to teeth at birth or in between 18 months.

Most of the babies start to teeth at six months on average.

Babies feel pain when teething and could be eased through applying a little cold pressure on the gums

DROOLING or SALIVATING is NOT a sign of teething. The fact is the volume of salivation rises but the lip tone’s capacity could not carry all the spittle that is produced.

HONEY is NOT recommended for teething babies. I was once asked “Unsa ang gi *lihi nimo sa imong baby sa pagngipon?” or “What did I give my baby as preparation (like a lucky charm) for teething?” My cousin suggested honey, yet as I researched, I found that it is not endorsed for babies under 1 year old. Raw honey has chemicals that the baby’s system could not bear. So, do NOT give your babies honey.

*LiHi- in Philippine culture, we have a superstitious belief that in order to save or reduce your baby’s experience of the syndrome of fever, diarrhea and vomiting, you have to give a LiHi. Lihi could be in form of bracelet made of sili (chilli stem), rub honey on gums, wipe marka tiki (a chinese herbal) on gums, soup of cooked octopus on gums and many more.

Brushing baby’s teeth as soon as teeth appear is recommended.

Teeth come by pairs

Bottom front teeth appear first! Then the upper front, molar and canine.

A study shows that vomiting, diarrhea and fever is no way associated to teething. It could possibly be the result of a virus.

It's not yet very visible, but just imagine it's behind that smile.. >.<

P.S. I REMEMBERED ANOTHER MYTH FROM THE ELDERS.
You should not mention "tooth" or "ngipon"(in Visayan), instead say "diamond" and NEVER look at the first teeth. But I am not really sure why. What do you think? :)

I have been silent, distant and gloomy but Lord, these things has to happen to give way to the plan You have for me. Without this dark state of my life, I would not REALIZE that I have such DETERMINATION, that I am STRONGER than I thought and there is always HOPE for me. At this point, You are planting in the deepest part of my heart the PASSION to reach my dreams, and to be a person that I am envisioning myself to be - to shine for YOUR GLORY. I have always been fascinated with sharing inspirational photos about God, motherhood, positive thinking and life in general. Yes, you'll see my profile flooded with those posts and deeply appreciate likes, comments and shares by people whom I have reached.

But then one ordinary day, I just had a bright idea.

You see, I am from a native Visayan (Cebuano) land. A Bisdak or Bisayang Dako. I live in the South of Philippines in Cagayan de Oro. I started reading a Cebuano Bible in 2009 and I find it very helpful because it speaks to my very heart. I have seen all those posts but realized that I haven't seen any posts like those in my native language. Well, there were Bisaya Quotes Pages and Bisdak Pages. But when I opened them, I could only read Bisaya Jokes and could find some inspirational pictures but are not in Visayan Language.

So a wild idea appeared. I thought of creating a page that would contain positive messages about life in general - and in BISAYA. It is a great challenge, really. Because I am so used with the English and Filipino Language. I struggle in translating from English to Bisaya but I did not dwell on it so much. My goal is just to transmit a positive message to the people, to my native land.

In facebook, the photos is one of the features that gets the most interaction, so I utilize it. I have learned copyright issues so I try to get photos from free photo websites and edit it in photo editors.

Post-Partum Depression

I was not able to blog for a veeerrrry loooooong time.. (sad face) I became too busy, by that I meant to decide on NOT to blog for a while. So it went, I was engrossed with OTHER things. When I wake up, I do stuffs for baby and stare face-to-face the computer until past midnight. That's my daily routine for two months.

NO EXERCISE.
NO SOCIAL LIFE.
NO BLOGGING FOR A WHILE.
JUST WORK. WORK.
~~WORK~~.

But I've had enough. I need a break. My life's not on balance anymore. My work's not even completely compensating everything that I do for with my health at stake. Because of my sedentary lifestyle, I was not able to notice that Post-Partum Depression got its hold of me. It was like a hungry animal, waiting for its prey. So, I was unguarded, I just found myself in the pit of depression.

I NEED to set things straight, so I decided to commit on getting physical, by myself. :D
I am starting my exercises, which is mostly composed of butt exercises because I really have a straight physique, kind of like a 13-year old and I am not even laughing.. I need to get my hips in shape. And I also do push-ups for my chest.
I researched and found that exercise could help alleviate Post-Partum Depression, so I knew I have to start there.

Water therapy must also be an established habit. There has lately been a pimple invasion happening in the field of my face, and I definitely am not happy about it. Well, this is the result of sleeping late and waking up early to tend to my little one.

And, of course going back to the SOURCE. You know, when you take away GOD in your life, everything begins to fall down. Without Him I'm insecure, depressed, lonely, irritated, angry(most of the time), sarcastic, harsh, cold-hearted, selfish, and list goes on and on and on... I don't ever want to go back to the misery of living without Jesus. Only He can set things straight in my life. It is only through His Loving Grace that I am able to live throughout the day in a positive spirit. Yes, coming back to the Heart of Worship, it is! There's a saying, if you're stressed, come to Jesus for a face lift.

A Facebook Message I Found From My Dusty Facebook Message Threads For my Church Mates and Friends.. When I read it, I realized that I made this message almost two years ago for myself - to awaken my sleeping, broken and stone heart.

"No great love ever came without great struggle."

as our love for our TRUELOVE & Savior JESUS, our trials & struggles also increases ..

Joshua (my Spiritual Father) told me last Monday: "THE BEST COMPETITION OF LOVE is LOVE itself.. the best rival of our LOVE for Jesus is also our LOVE for ourselves, for our families, special someone, friends and others.."

This is it guys.. welcome to the struggles that you face as a Christian.. I've also experienced what you have experienced.. and it really was not easy, knowing that what you will give up is not just a simple thing.

I've realized also, what if I gave up in the midst of those trials? what could have become of me? JESUS was the greatest treasure that i have ever found in my life..if I lost Him, I knew that my life would also be lost in my hands..

I tried to run away.. I tried to forget what I knew.. I almost became a backslider . I chose my love for my special someone & to my family other than to grow my love for Christ.. But in the end, the emptiness is greater than I could have imagined.. my life was a TOTAL mess.. I couldn't bring the pieces back together.. I realized how I hunger,I thirst for the presence of God..I need Him so much! Indeed! My life was empty.. The fire from my eyes was taken.. I knew I was LOST..I needed GOD to clean my mess..

Now, I'm happy I've never given up.. There were so many blessings & miracles that came my way.. Though everything's not in place, i believe in GOD's due time, He will restore that which is broken..MY GOD! He made the dead live! How much more BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS? And BROKEN lives? but we need FAITH [believing & being confident of the UNSEEN] in order for God to work in our lives.

.AND.

you know how much this generation needs GOD! just keep it up! you'll never know how many lives you have inspired!and someone else out there needs us. Share the light!

Knowing what you are facing right now, are u still willing to follow Him? Remember:

"We live by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7

this is the REAL TEST OF FAITH.

I recently got a text message from one of my college best friend. She is getting married in May! I just feel so overwhelmed and teary-eyed that she invited me to be part of this memorable event. After everything that we've been through, from college, to working, to the struggles, to her baby boy, and now - marriage! I just wish Aryan and her new hubby - VannieBanz the BEST of wishes forevermore. Finally celebrating the first part of forever! Praise God!

Comforting myself with GOD's loving words to remind me that the world HATED my MASTER first. I won't let the voice of IGNORANCE bring me down. I won't go back to that anymore. Though I feel pissed with the one-sided news, I rest in the thought that GOD's Spirit rests within me. Haters gonna hate, nothing can shake my faith! No one can stop me.

Dear Lord, we never know what is in Your mind. But whatever it is, we know that it is for our good. Thank you for the trials, thank you for the storm. Thank you for everything - GOOD and NOT GOOD - that came into our lives. Guard our hearts and minds. And give us strength to endure the obstacles we encounter in running the race of following You. In Jesus' mighty name I pray, Amen.

There is Triumph in Defeat, Manny!

That was two straight loses for our Number One Boxing Champ, Manny Pacquiao. Before the game started, I had a strange feeling that he's not gonna win. Not because he's not good enough, oh God, he has proven that to the world already. I mean, a change in inner priorities has caused him to not want to win badly as before. It doesn't mean everything anymore for another desire is forming in his heart.

Some say it's about his change of his faith. Capital N-O. This is a GAME. And in every game, winners at some point, loses. Regardless of what you feel or believe in, it's the rule. There is ALWAYS a reason for every failure and victory. Things are too blurry now to conclude the future for our Boxing Champ.

This is also a challenge for Manny. For it is written:

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” -Matthew 16:24

This is the beginning of a precious journey towards the path of life. I was not shocked that something big will come his way. For following Jesus does not entail all the victories and comfort of the world we live in. Following Jesus was never about religion, money,or fame. It was about going out of the comfort zone - GROWING UP. And as for Manny, his faith will be challenged. By the persecutions of the people around him, from those he loves, from his fans, and everyone else. Also written:

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
—John 15:18-20

It is every Christian's cross to bear, the hurtful words that are thrown by people who are important to you. In fact, at this very moment, I am also bearing the knowing looks that people around me has to say for changing, as if saying "see what I toldya? you're wrong". But with all due respect, I say capital N-O. I KNOW I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION. It is buried deep in the heart of every believer, that following Him has a cost. And please, I AM NOT BRAINWASHED! All I've experienced was pure TRUTH that gives Freedom. You don't know what I know and you will not see what I see unless you open your heart and mind.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." -John 8:31-32

So for our country's boxing champ, way to go! Win or lose, you are still our champion! You were with us in your victory, much more this time and help you get up. Your race has just began! You are only defeated once you GIVE-UP! Let our faith be like a mustard seed, ever growing and ever strong! God does not count your wins and loses in the boxing game! He counts how many times you've fallen in your life and in your faith but never chose to give up! All glory and honor belongs to GOD!

You were with us in victory, we will also be with you in your setback. You gave much honor to the Filipinos.

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. Typhoon "Pablo/Bopha" Strikes

It has been almost a year since the City of Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines was hit by a severe tropical storm. On December 17, 2011Sendong, or Washi (international name) has caused a severe catastrophe in the town sweeping 1,200+ people to their deaths and hundreds still missing until now. You see, nobody was really prepared for it because it is too unnatural for our city to be passed by a typhoon and it came by when people were asleep. So it was a dreaded event for all of us, the saddest Christmas. Friends and relatives were left homeless. I lost a lot of friends and I couldn't believe it. The trauma was not only for those affected but to all of us living here, knowing that there never is a safe place to live anymore. Cagayan de Oro city is our HOME - an environment of security and peace. If the only place you call home is stirred with all the turmoil and morbid memory, things will not feel and look the same anymore.

I've watched the news and confirmed that typhoons that take the same path as "Sendong" come only once every 12 years. So the last typhoon that I have experienced was when I was 10 years old. That means that the next typhoon that I would be experiencing should supposedly be at the age 34.

Imagine our horror after knowing that a GREAT STORM - bigger than the cities and provinces combined together in Mindanao would directly strike our city on December 5, 2012. Pablo or Bopha (international name) is going to be the strongest storm that would hit Mindanao. It caused panic to ALL of us. Thousands of people evacuated from the flood-prone areas. The NDRRMC, other government agencies, NGOs have prepared FULLY. The people were also yielded to the instructions and guidelines. Nobody ever wants another life to be squandered - AGAIN. That's the goal.

Evacuation

Typhoon Pablo has a width of 700 kilometers with a wind speed of 260 kilometers per hour. By the time it hit, ravaging winds were invading the entire land and brought heavy rain. Thank GOD it did not bring a great flood in Cagayan de Oro. Though it was announced zero casualties for the city of Cagayan de Oro, it's destruction did not escape the provinces of Davao and Compostella Valley. Roads and bridges were impassable and destroyed. Trees were uprooted and some electricity posts were blown down causing power disruption and cut water supply in some areas. Pablo did not spare taking the lives of more than 400+ people, more missing and leaving 300,000+ people homeless. What's worse, the only livelihood that the people depend on were eradicated, leaving a major effect on the country's economy.

This is a call to mankind. There's a law that says "In every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction." Much of the effects stem from illegal logging and extensive mining of the place. And each of us has a vital role to play. God has appointed us to be stewards of His creation. I now remembered the short film "An Inconvenient Truth" when I was in first year college, warning us of climate change and crisis and it has happened. The earth has become an unpredictable place to live in. Greed would one day consume us and yield consequences that affects the many. Look at the changes of the earth. It's taking its toll on us.

We are still thankful to GOD, whatever He has given us - good or bad, HE STILL REMAINS A GOOD GOD ALL THE TIME. He is the KING of this city. Our prayers were heard and He spared more lives than taken. While Pablo was furiously devastating our land, I believe more people are praying and praising His Goodness and Faithfulness in our lives. A chruchmate had said, he likes it when a typhoon comes because people call on God more often than the normal times. Faith restored! We claim victory over the enemy! GOD is GREATER than any storm! GOD is stronger than any typhoon we may face! GOD is the most POWERFUL fortress that we can lean on. We are not alone! Dalaygon and Dios!

The floods have risen up, O Lord.

During one of our Bible Study sessions, we came up with the idea of giving ourselves assigned tasks so that we could reflect on the topic that was discussed. While having the assignments, all of us were still in "waiting" status. I just would like to share one of our groupmate's insights:

“O Romeo, Romeo!—wherefore art thou Romeo?” This is a well known line taken from the excerpt of William Shakespeare’s play, “Romeo & Juliet”. This line characterizes Juliet’s deep and passionate love for her dearly-loved, Romeo. In this scene, Juliet was in the balcony waiting and daydreaming for her secret beloved, not knowing that Romeo is eavesdropping at the same time enjoying her monologue. Lucky for Juliet, Romeo found and heard her love but for my part, it seems my Romeo is too busy to even drop by and say “hi.” It looks like I’m waiting for a train ride without the faintest idea when it’s coming. What’s taking him so long? Is he up to something? Am I not worth his time? Or did he even have an idea that someone’s faithfully waiting for him? And could I ever be lucky enough, like Juliet, to catch that last train ride to marriagedom?

I’ve always imagined myself with my prince charming riding on a white horse like it will be our last. I don’t want to wake up with that dream. I’m still hoping for a man who will sweep me off my feet. A man who will make me believe that happily ever after do exist. A man who will proudly stand beside me on my wedding day, gently takes my right hand as he slowly puts the wedding ring into my ring finger and lovingly say, “I’ve also waited for you. I’ve waited for this. Now, you’re all mine. I love you so much, my princess.” But as time flies and days constantly unfolding, I realized I’ve gotten older and I’ve wasted my time with those hazy visions of love. A fairy tale love story that could only be found in books, magazines, poems, stories, movies, and plays or even in a teenager’s dream. Thus, there’s more than just a beautiful tale of an ideal boy-girl relationship. In reality, instead of a happily ever after ending, it turned out to be a tragic scene of pain and loss. In this state-of-the-art world, it’s clearly foreseeable that more or less wherever you go, things are already unquestionably high-tech. No wonder, this tech-savvy society wanted immediate satisfaction including the desire for a mate. The belief that only the love of the other half could satisfy the longing of one’s heart is a widespread subject these days. This is very irrational for a philosopher and a great blunder for a chess master. That’s why it’s not surprising that most love affairs ended up with a child minus a father or lived like hell with a husband who was shot gunned to walk down the aisle. And for this reason, I finally came to a conclusion that I’ll save myself for my husband. I want to be pure in front of God and my husband on my wedding day. To make it simple and clear, I decided to remain single. Not having a boyfriend now doesn’t mean missing the fun of a perfect relationship. I believe there are better things to get busy with than matters of the heart. I suppose now is the best time to start thinking about opportunities, not limits, to reach my full potential. Speaking of abilities, as a licensed teacher, this will be a once in a lifetime chance for me to enrich my skills in teaching. The world needs not only a strong and influential leader but then a great teacher who inspires her learners to be good leaders too. An exciting and productive singlehood life is to invest one’s time in developing one’s self, inside and out. To be single is the best period to discover and master one’s passion and use it as a light and inspiration in this constantly changing world. Better engage oneself in productive hobbies like playing violin, piano or guitar or else drawing, painting, poetry writing, singing, dancing and even learn magic. This is also a time to master my favorite sport or have aerobatics and belly-dancing. I just wan to enjoy every step of my journey because this stage of my life, as a single, will not come again. Furthermore, as a fine young lady, this will be my groundwork to grow with charm and beauty and most importantly with integrity. Meanwhile, I will also take this opportunity to continue developing Christian virtues. I will learn how to cook, manage my money and time, and get involved in job trainings and church activities. Finally, this would be a challenge for me to live out the outstanding character of a godly woman. To be a woman of character is a priceless gift I could ever give to my husband and to my God.

At this point of my life, in my 22 years of existence, I’ve quit waiting in vain for my true love. I’ve entrusted everything to my Heavenly Father for I believe that He has prepared something beautiful for me in His time. I’ve faithfully and joyfully trust Him with the pen of this unfinished piece of my life. I’ll let Him write my love story.

The author of this post is one of my precious sisters, Angelei Tigulo. Indeed waiting is not an easy task. It is painful. There was a moment that she really asked me, "will he come? Will I ever marry? But if God would want me to be single forever, I am contented." There were lots of questions that time but what we didn't know was that God was already preparing the perfect person for her. Less than a year after, she met Christian. It was such a fantastic story.

God has His own timeline of our lives. We may think that the thing we're waiting for will never come. But we never know, behind the scenes, He is weaving and arranging the perfect story for us.

All my life, I was just an ordinary city girl. My regular days were just home, school, home and school.

So every time an opportunity knocks, calling me to explore a new place, it would be very difficult for me to decline. I discovered that I love to travel.

I met my best friend last 2010 and that year opened my eyes to a lot of new things, new destinations yet to be explored. What I like about my best friend is that he always shares the adventures of his life. And he really has a lot!

My best friend invited me to go to their place in a far-flung land of Barangay Bacusanon, Pangantucan, Bukidnon. His aunts and uncles were with us and other passengers who jumped in for a hitch to their remote homes. It was the first time that I've heard of the place and I never had any idea how the people lived there. Later on, I've found out that we will be riding on a 10-wheeler military truck which is used to deliver some goods from the province to sell in the city. We named the truck, mongku-mongku.

Above is the truck that we used to travel for a day. We were seated in the back portion and slept there 'til the morning. So, we started off 5PM on March 29, 2011. There were actually two routes going to the destination. A smooth, long highway and the rough, short one. Of course we took the shorter road (but have more beautiful views) via Talakag, Bukidnon.

It was getting darker so we went to stop for dinner at 7 and continued to our journey.

It was 8PM but people in the zone are already asleep. So far from the city where people seem to never sleep. The surrounding was like 2AM already in Cagayan de Oro. All lights were off and only the light from the truck is the source. But fireflies were so kind to share their glimmering lights amidst the dark night. They were like little floating candles on our sides.

As the night progressed, we were closer to the heavens. I meant that literally. Why the stars were almost reachable by my hands! The usually big stars were brighter and they looked like sky lanterns above. And there were some stars that I've never noticed before, shining so dearly in the stage of the sky. Yes, I so wanna sweep them! And I thought I was only dreaming. It was one of my unforgettable moment because I have been loving stars and constellations since 6th grade.

I was also able to compose some lines made for my best friend that time:

The smile of the broad daylight is nothing compared to the beauty of a million stars shining in the night.

I kept my eyes wide open to witness the magical momentum but human restraints caused me to feel exhausted.

I rested for a bit and then we arrived at Dominorog, Bukidnon by 1AM. We stopped for coffee and carried on.

By 2-3AM, it was getting really dark and chilly and sure enough, we were then greeted by an amazing fog! Oh, please pardon my ignorance but I am dyingly wishing to actually experience what it's like to be inside the clouds. It was so thick that we could barely see anything on the road. I hardly see even the people inside the truck. Our driver is a professional and he has been traveling in and out for years so we don't worry much, though I felt a little bit nervous. Along the road I also smelled for the first time the scent of an ilang-ilang flower. It has a very, very pleasant scent. Then we slept for a while. I woke before the sun was fully awake.

There were so many adventures by the long road to the area. I so love the view and I also had snapshots of how people have lived there.

How they commute

Unlike the city, there were no taxis, jeepneys and tricycles here. Their mode of transportation to the farm is the animals and sometimes they just use their feet. A motorbike could also be used to commute to far places.

Most houses were made of huts. They also have at least an animal for their needs in their farms. In the city, it's like having a car per se to assist in daily living.

This is not a new thing to the people living in the area. Due to the steepness of the road, some small trucks could not make it over. So they have to wait for another bigger truck to tug the smaller ones.

The main source of living of people are of course found there. Corn and sugar cane are just some of the crops that the farmers plant. Some depend on livestock as an additional source.

Along the way, we passed by a mosque.

Some families, especially in the center part of the region put up small businesses. It would be a great advantage to have your own vehicle so that it would be easy to transport supplies from the city.

Well, that's basically it. There were still lots of experiences and places yet to be discovered. I was not also able to practice planting in the farm, but it's okay. I'll probably will experience that in a different setting. Over-all, it was such a great experience to view the world from a different angle. At least, for a person who grew in the city all her life, it made a difference. I learned to eat "baboy halas" (I don't really know the english counter-part for this word but it is of the pig family). And realized that some residents are actually richer than the typical people in the city;

1. They have two bathrooms.
2. They own hectares and hectares of lands.
3. Unlimited food (for they grow their own).
4. Fog in the morning(they could imitate what I see on TV when they breathe and found white vapor coming out of their mouths, I really am jealous of that :p).
5. One or more vehicles(in the form of animals).
6. FREE tourist attractions.
7. FREE AIRCON!! (Yes, the place is cooold even in the middle of the day)
8. BIG swimming pool. (They have brooks and falls)
9. Simpler but happier families.

PS to my best friend: This is a tribute to you. I have a lot of reasons to be thankful to God that our paths crossed. Things may have been difficult but the journey was still worthwhile. I've loved you and always will as my brother and friend, even though we're living our own lives. God bless you! ♥

I am one of those people who is blessed to have lived in our city. We have a radio station that plays CHRISTIAN MUSIC all day long. I have been listening contemporary Christian music and glad to have found new set of songs from national and international artists.

Baby Rashes: Home Remedies and Some Tips

One thing that new mommies and daddies might experience when having a newborn babe is having rashes on the skin. This condition is very common among babies. It might be due to exposure of their ultra-sensitive skin to the dirt everywhere. It might also be caused by the hormones of the mother during pregnancy. Skin rashes does not put the baby's life at risk but may be very distressing to parents. When my baby was two weeks old, a big rash sprouted from her face. It started as small red spots but I felt restless as it grew worse. I could not bear look at her because she just looks so pitiful. Yes, I know this looks so upsetting especially for me as a parent. Before it gets more awful, seek your pediatrician's advice as early as possible when you feel that something's not right.

My baby's now almost on her fourth month and we managed to get over her situation by some solutions. There could have been several reason's for the rashes since babies have ultra-sensitive skin. It is important to know these reasons so that it could be given the proper remedy needed.

Some Tips For Baby's Skin Rashes:

Get rid of dust and dirt. Dust could be the number one suspect why your precious bundle is experiencing rashes on her skin. If you have pets, these pet hairs could also be a source of skin irritations. For expectant mothers, be sure that your room gets thoroughly cleaned before baby comes to prevent rashes.

Use mild detergent in washing baby's clothes and warm water. Detergent soaps that we regularly use could contribute to your infant's rashes. Use a special and separate mild detergent that is just for baby's clothes. You could also use warm water to kill germs on the garments. Avoid the use of fabric conditioners if possible.

Avoid kissing your baby. This could be painful to hold back but this is to avoid aggravating the situation. Fathers with beards and mustaches like comrade Captain Jack here, have it shaved or forever hold your peace.

Use soft clothe diapers (iron if possible). When I was pregnant, I bought only two pieces of cotton cloth to use. My mom then bought a dozen flannel clothes after I gave birth to Annieka and ironed them all. Since baby got these rashes, I would diligently iron all her garments because there could have been infected with germs while drying it under the sun. I know it could be a bit heavy on my part but it's for baby's good.

Note: Also use a clothe diaper when carrying baby. Avoid direct contamination of your clothes to your baby's skin, especially on the irritated area.

Use a mild body wash or lotion. The drier the skin, the more sensitive it gets. As for baby, her pedia recommended to use Cetaphil Skin Restoring Body Wash and Cetaphil Skin Restoring Body Moisturizer after bath. My newborn has dry skin that is why I always use this for her. It is a bit costly though. Her body wash does not have any scent that is why I couple it with a hypo-allergenic powder so that she would also smell pleasant, supplemented baby's natural scent of course. Because she might smell with sweat after the day. I also use the moisturizer two times a day.

Sponge bath. To feel fresh before sleeping, sponge bath baby using a wash clothe with lukewarm water and basin. Cleaning baby before to sleep makes her feel relaxed and comfortable in sleeping especially when weather is hot. I also use her moisturizer and ointment to relieve her.

Use an Ointment.
I was too hesitant to use the ointment my boss gave me especially that it was not given by my pedia. But I was a little bit desperate so I researched about the product first before using it on my baby. It was an ointment to give a relief from itching and protection from rashes named Calmoseptine. This was given to me by my boss' after bringing her baby to consult for a strange case of rashes to her dermatologist. First, I applied a very small amount to the irritated area and later observed that the redness was reduced. So I continued to use it to the rest her face and was surprised by the results in just two days. Her rashes were gone now and my baby could go to sleep peacefully each night. Calmoseptine could also be used for other cases such as diaper rash, burns, chapping, prickly heat, etc.

Consult your doctor. When I went to my pedia, she prescribed the lotion and body wash above and some oral drops. Though it was safe for infants, I was very uneasy with the thought of giving my 2-week baby an antihistamine drop. The rashes disappeared for a while but when I stopped using it, the rashes came back so I decided to halt giving antihistamine drops forever. It is just an external case anyway and I don't want my baby to depend on medicine. My doctor also suggested to change her formula milk from S26 Gold to S26 Hypo-Allergenic Gold. My aunt, who happens to be a nurse told me that if a baby is allergic to cow's milk, she will be allergic to it no matter what brand - as long as it is cow's milk. But this is what I'm using until now anyways.

I hope one or several of these tips help in overcoming your baby's rashes if we happen to have the same case. It is still best to consult your doctor before trying anything. Have a great day!

Technology is just limited and there are times that it is unavailable. For instance, your printer didn't work out and you have to pass on a deadline that day; or your internet is down and you have to do a long research for your schoolwork. Now you have to go to a computer shop and use a flash drive to secure your files. Suddenly, the unexpected occurred. That computer is virus infected and your flash disk has just been severely infested. Your files are no longer found and only one folder is there. Where are my files? Oh God, Why? Now, everything is too late and there is not enough time to start all over again. You could just imagine your dreaded future and all you can do is get frustrated and cry. Familiar scenario, eh?

Just this day, my mom panicked as a flash drive, owned by a close family friend, was suddenly attacked by some virus or malicious malware on her office while making a tarpaulin for the church fellowship. It will be used in a event by tomorrow afternoon and still has to have the layout rush-printed. She was all the more concerned because the flash drive wasn't hers and she didn't know if they have some back-up files in their personal computer. She asked if I could help her regarding this dilemma. I tried everything I could and found the most effective solution that made my mom's mind so at peace. I am going to share this especially for students, employees and all those who has their files hidden or totally annihilated by the virus. But, haven't you noticed that when you scan your flash disk, the files are still actually there and being scanned by the system? You files are not deleted. They are just hidden. After much surfing, I found the easiest way that actually worked out.

How to Recover Your Flash Drive in Just Four Steps:
Note: Scan your files by an updated Antivirus first.

1. Click on the Start Menu or

2. On the "Search programs and files" tab, write "cmd" and press ENTER. This should appear:

3. Type the location of the flash drive in your computer, for instance F: , G: , H: then press ENTER. It would look similar to this:

4. Then type in

ATTRIB -S -H *.* /S /D

Press ENTER. Wait for the directory to show.

Then close the cmd box and go to your flash drive. This should restore all the files that you saved before it got attacked by the virus. Hope this helps!

This is my first time to actually take a free online course in my entire life. When I saw Edx while surfing the net, I took the opportunity to try. I chose three courses from the seven. One course, MITx: 6.00x Introduction to Computer Science and Programming started yesterday at 10AM EST. They also have already added features on the dashboard. Here are some:

Courseware:

This is the tab where all of the lessons, lectures and problem sets are found. Above, is the video for the first lecture and located in the sidebar is the text description of the instructor's dialog.

Course Info:

This is the bulletin reserved for the announcements on updates and news of the course. This would also guide the students on where to start, what to expect for the week and what to do.

Textbook:

This was where I actually started to get worried because I read on some courses that requires textbook materials for reference of lessons. But they always provide for alternative solutions if you can't buy one. Now here is the material required for our course, similar to pdf file.

Discussion:

This is the interaction of a wide range of global classmates. People of different races, culture and ethnicity are in one place to gather and ask about problems encountered on the site, lessons and everything else. The forum is also answered by fellow students but should abide to the forum guidelines.

Edx Wiki:

This section could be accessed by all students to share their additional knowledge about the lessons. There are features like additional references, lecture notes and general discussions.

Progress:

This graph monitors the development of the student who has gone through the lectures. Students have to submit requirements, answer problem sets, take two midterms and one final exam. The graph will show the student's class standing. Unlike in the regular setting, this is more "high-tech" and I believe that the student would increase awareness on how one is doing in one's studies.

I am actually excited about how this whole thing would going through. But I think it would be great to meet my classmates in person. Being secluded from the social world is like a glitch on your part as a human being because we're made as social creatures. The regular setting is still has to be the main thing despite the instantaneous results online learning could give. But for people who are passionate enough to learn more, taking an online course would be the next big thing.
