Imagine that you are an international superstar who has sold more than 14 million albums worldwide. The number of fans you have throughout the globe is in the millions, you have become an international icon and your name is synonymous with spectacular and unexpected talent. The paparazzi follow you as you do your shopping, the tabloids have given you a cutesy nickname and you just unveiled a waxwork in your likeness at Madame Tussauds. How are you going to spend your free time? If you are Susan Boyle, you'll spend your time catering to the whims of a tiny group of fanatics who constitute a minuscule fraction of the millions of fans who adore you around the world.

Some of Susan Boyle's fans love to deluge her with gifts for every conceivable occasion. Unfortunately for Susan, the one gift they never seem to give her is the one that she most deserves. It's a gift that goes with everything and will never go out of style. The next time a group of fans meets with Susan they might want to give her this instead of a lot of quilts and trinkets to clutter up her home(s).

When a person tell a lot of lies they are always in a vulnerable position. They have to hope and pray that someone who knows what really happened doesn't come along and blow down their whole house of cards with one inconvenient truth.

From one of the administrators at susan-boyle.com:

The person concerned was offered the opportunity to retract and countered with an accusation that we had reported one our members to Scotland Yard for Stalking Susan, and assertion which again simply beggars belief.

http://forum.susan-boyle.com/threads/12762-Enough-is-enough!

This sentence is technically true. However, the person who made the statement knows very well that she did in fact attempt to get the authorities and Sony's security branch to investigate a fellow fan. She sent an email to certain individuals falsely accusing the fan in question of buying information about Susan Boyle and spreading damaging rumors about her and her family. Ironically, in so doing the administrator who sent the email was herself spreading false and defamatory rumors about the individual she targeted. Psychologists call that projection. Others might call it pure malice.

From the email:

It will be difficult for us to substantiate much more - but a PI may have more luck.

....IF she is the [fan] who is alleged to
be buying information, and IF these stories are being circulated by her
then perhaps an eye needs to be kept upon her.
-- I sent this from my 3 mobile --

So she was telling the truth, after a fashion. She did not send Scotland Yard after another fan. She merely attempted to get Sony to send a private investigator after the fan, based on rumors, false statements and outright defamation, with a view towards harassing her.

The administrators at SBFII often accuse others of committing libel, yet here they were doing the same themselves. They have started numerous rumors about Susan Boyle, as well. As mentioned in a previous post, one moderator claimed to have a copy of Miss Boyle's medical records and disclosed the alleged contents to other people. The old phrase “It takes one to know one,” comes to mind.

Fans who think that this incident and others are unimportant should think again. If they did this to one member of that website, they could as easily do it to any other. All they need are a bunch of baseless allegations and a grudge in order to go after other fans. You could be in their good graces today, yet find yourself subjected this sort of attack tomorrow. You might want to watch your backs.

Future Shock

(From P's Diary)

February 24^th

London M&G at Cafe Rouge.

What a stroke of genius to hold this meeting at the favorite watering hole of people from Sony. Have to thank E again for watching Sony HQ for weeks until she figured it out. Was a little disappointed that Melissa and Alex begged off at the last minute but was more than thrilled that AS decided to come. He's so much handsomer in person. Swoon!!! I had my photo taken with A, of course, but forbid anyone to post it under threat of banning.

March 17^th

Off to another meeting at Susan's house in Blackburn. It's been almost three whole months since our last visit. I've been going through withdrawal! This time we took birthday gifts instead of housewarming gifts or anniversary gifts. I gave Susan an autographed photo of the two of us holding the first quilt, with my face obscured by a sporran. And R, that trouper, graciously quilted Susan a flak jacket. Well, anotherfan actually did all the quilting, including a lovely embroidery of Balmoral Castle, representing Her Majesty's Secret Service. But it was R's idea: “If we quilted Susan a bulletproof vest....”

March 20^th

This morning I led a tour group to Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes. Heads turned when all 26 of us sat down in the pews. I'm told it was a nice service but I was too busy watching Susan pray to notice.

We all went off to the Livingston Inn after mass to celebrate Susan's birthday. Susan seemed reluctant to join the line dance but she had to because we didn't give her a chair. A few of the ladies swept her along in their merry jig. Texans have such interesting customs.

The Texans didn't bring Flat Susan (they said something about her getting too close to a barbeque pit) but Real Susan filled in very well for her missing twin. She was just like our very own living doll! We had her dancing for what seemed like an eternity. Later we all had our pictures taken while hugging her. One of the ladies even sat in Susan's lap! She enjoyed all the attention even when it seemed like she didn't.

Once all the fun was over, R presented Susan with her 42^nd quilt. As usual, she regaled Susan with a fairytale. This one was about a troll, an ogre and a gargoyle who made a magical quilt for a fairy princess, then tricked the princess's guards into taking her to a dark and scary place so that they could give it to her. All of us roared with laughter!

Then Susan whispered something to Joanne and suddenly they were out the door. They almost forgot the quilt but R ran after them and shoved it into the back of Susan's car. And that ended our perfect day.

Thank goodness we get to go back on April 1^st for Susan's birthday and on April 11^th for the BGT anniversary. I'd hate to have to wait until November for another visit!

Dear SBFI Tech Staff,

Clicking a link is not hacking. Also, a 403 error page is what visitors see if they try to access parts of your site that they aren't permitted to view. It in no way relates to a denial of service attack. Your hosting company's support staff would have explained this to you, after they stopped laughing their asses off.

Backstabbers

2011-02-19T18:32:00.002-05:00

If you've been keeping up with developments, you know that the administrators and moderators at susan-boyle.com make a habit of stabbing their members in the back. Some of the the nicest and most innocuous people have been the targets of vicious attacks. Even my hardened soul was shocked at talk of punching a sweet lady in the face for nothing more than having the "wrong" opinion. But they've gone beyond mere fantasies of violent retaliation and have found devious ways to make the people they're pissed at suffer.

How? One way is with the "Miserable User Modification." When they decide that they don't like something a member has posted they can use this modification to make it hard for them to get onto the site. The victim never has a clue that she has been singled out for harassment. What an underhanded thing to do to loyal fans.

Miserable Users Hack...

Thought you might like this idea...

Meanwhile, while researching the 20+ mods for upgraded versions I stumbled on this.
vBulletin 4.0 Version The ever popular "Miserable Users" modification.
This has been around for 5+ years, and requested on each vb version upgrade.

Basically a way to really annoy anyone you don't want visiting your forum.

When classed as miserable, a member suffers ;

1. Slow response (time delay) on every page (20 to 60 seconds default).
2. A chance they will get the "server busy" message (50% by default).
3. A chance they will get redirected to another preset page (25% & homepage by default).
4. A chance they will simply get a blank page (25% by default).

If they get past all this okay, then they will be served up their proper page.

Note: All the above are set in vBulletin Options > Miserable Users.

some forum owners comments...
Thanks, the perfect "moderating" tool for trolls and other kind of people who otherwise would kill the forum.

Long-time user, back before it was written as a "product". My mods love it! Thanks Paul!

No one is going to know unless (a) You tell them, or (b) they know about this mod and guess (and then they still wont actually know unless you tell them)

It's great to have the facility to 'punish' people like him without having to ban them. The only shame is that I'll never see his face when he finally realises that he's the only one having problems accessing my forum
Edited to add : I am willing to stay up late tonight to place it in this version to try out on MonkeyTech for opening up old wounds for no reason other than trouble-making.. Just say the word Kalua

Have You Seen Me?

2011-02-18T07:03:00.001-05:00

What Are The Odds?

What are the odds that both of the administrators of susan-boyle.com claim they are being hunted by assassins? Both Pickled Tink and Kalua say that they live in mortal fear that their locations will be discovered by their enemies and they will be killed. I kid you not.

Kalua claims that the ghost of Pinochet has had him on a hit list of political targets since the day he was born. He has told some people that if his face is ever seen in public, he will be instantly terminated. That's probably why he thought it was safe to email his photo around to all and sundry. Pinochet's dead so he obviously can't use the Internets.

Pickled Tink apparently works for MI6 and has roving gangs of assassins after her. Naturally she cannot be seen in public lest she be hunted down. One supposes that is why she spends so much time hanging around an international superstar, having her photo taken and appearing in videos. What better way to keep you mug out of sight than to schmooze with one of the most famous women on the planet?

See if you can spot the pickle in this video. Hint: 3:13, 3:20, 4:01, plus preview still (red hair, purple hat).

With these two dangerous characters running her largest fan site, is Miss Boyle safe? What if the ninjas find Pickle on one of the many well-publicized occasions when she's at Susan's house? Could Pinochet's ghostly legions target Susan to flush Kalua out of Switzerland – er, hiding? Might “Our Susan” be caught in the crossfire? Maybe the administrators from susan-boyle.com ought to stay away from Susan or at least give the Scottish Songbird a flak jacket when they're near her.

If sweet, wonderful Susan Boyle's fan club is run by such scary characters, the peeps who run Lady Gaga's fan club must be positively horrific.

Seriously, you can't make this shit up.

Susan Boyle: Object of Desire, or Just An Object?

2011-02-17T06:16:00.000-05:00

The management of susan-boyle.com has devoted a lot of time and energy to ingratiating themselves with certain members of Susan Boyle's team. They figured that if they sucked up to the right people they could get lots of face time with Susan. Most fans are happy to go to a concert, see their favorite singer perform and go home with happy memories. But that's not enough for this crowd. No, they demand one-on-one contact with Susan Boyle and they're willing to go to the ends of the earth (or Scotland) to get it.

Other stars of Susan's stature can at least be free from fans intrusions in their own home towns. Not so for Susan Boyle. Several times a year her home town is literally crawling with fans. Fans who want a hands-on experience with the global superstar who has sold over 14, 000,000 albums to date.

How hands-on are these fans?

These women paid quite a lot for the privilege of draping themselves all over the Scottish Siren. Some of them gave money to Pickled Tink to help buy susan-boyle.com at auction. (Pickled is seen below with her face artlessly hidden by a tam. She cannot show herself in public because if she does, assassins sent by her many enemies will be able to find her. That's why she is the administrator of two fan sites for one of the world's most popular singers. She is hiding in plain sight, don't you know.)

In March and April there will be two, count 'em, two major fan gatherings near Susan Boyle's home town. One coincides with an awards show, while the other is supposed to celebrate Miss Boyle's 50^th birthday. Pickled Tink will once again serve as tour guide/ringmaster for the March event. The other has been organized by a rogue band of fans from Susan's official website.

With her solid gold contacts in Susan's camp, PT has arranged another command performance by Miss Boyle at a luncheon the day after the Scottish Variety Awards Show. There will be more singing and dancing, along with the presentation of the world's ugliest quilt. No doubt Susan will be turned into a human teddy bear again and do some grief counseling on the fly to the grandmothers who tore themselves away from family tragedies to go party in Livingston.

The fan-led gathering won't be quite so lucky. Pickled Tink aka Jessie1267 has already warned them not to hope for even a whiff of Susan at their low-rent bash. Perhaps the Ladies Who Lunch In Livingston will be kind enough to share the odd photo with their less fortunate sisters in the time-honored spirit of “See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya!”

Desperately Stalking Susan Boyle

2011-02-17T00:28:00.001-05:00

It's kind of hard to wrap one's head around the lengths to which the admins and mods at susan-boyle.com will go to get their hands on information about Miss Boyle. They have sent members to case her homes on several occasions, under the guise of “just passing by.” Some have tried to befriend Susan Boyle's friends and neighbors. Most disturbingly, they have sent a member to get Miss Boyle's birth records, as well as those of her non-famous siblings and her parents' marriage certificate.

Sometime in the fall of 2009, the moderators at that site decided that they wanted a copy of Susan Boyle's birth record, supposedly to check the spelling of her middle name. (Why? Don't ask me, I'm sane!) They also wanted the marriage record of Patrick and Bridget Boyle because they suspected that the eldest child was conceived out of wedlock. The other siblings were probably just collateral damage in this quest to nail down all things Boyle.

A former moderator of the site who has a background in history was dispatched to the Blackburn library to obtain these records. He told the authorities that he was doing historical research and was entitled to view and copy the documents. Once he got the copies, he emailed them to the then-current members of the “staff” at susan-boyle.com. This was a clear breach of Susan Boyle's privacy and that of her siblings.

What proof exists? A copy of Susan Boyle's birth record, which no one outside of Miss Boyle should have. Also the birth dates of all of her siblings, which came from the same source.

Susan's Birth Record

How awful is that?

Actually, that's not the worst of it. One of the moral midgets on that site bragged to anyone who would listen that she got a copy of Susan Boyle's medical records from a certain member of Susan's team. She quoted sections of the records that eerily paralleled things Susan later wrote of in her autobiography. Thankfully, this person didn't copy-and-paste Susan's private medical records into an email and hit “Reply All.” At least, I think she didn't....

Who is Nic?

2011-02-16T22:02:00.002-05:00

Let's break that chat transcript down a bit. It's long and you can get a little lost in all the typos and bad grammar. There are things that we ought to look at, though.

First and foremost: The possible involvement of Susan Boyle's PR rep in the auction of susan-boyle.com.

Read this passage again:

judy says:

nic emailed dani and i this morning asking for info and link to auction

Carlos says:

Susan will buy it

Carlos says:

LOL

Hils says:

interesting

Hils says:

Nic might buy it

“Who is Nic?” I hear you thinking. Nic is Nicola Phillips, Susan Boyle's PR rep. For some strange reason, Nic befriended a lot of the people who run susan-boyle.com. According to this chat and other info floating around, Nic was very involved with the entire auction process. She communicated with the moderators of the site before and during the auction. And, as we can see from the transcript, they believed that she might buy the website if it looked like their bid would fail.

It seems irregular, to say the least.

Does Paul Wood know that his auction was gamed?

2011-02-16T17:33:00.001-05:00

He might have something to say about this....

Carlos says:

anyone home?

Lonni says:

I am here, working on my pros and cons!

Dani says:

yes

Hils says:

Hi there

Carlos says:

pros and cons?

Carlos says:

hello everybody

Lonni says:

For bidding or not.

Carlos says:

ahhh

Hils says:

i AM VEERING TOWARDS A JPINT BID NOW

Lonni says:

Me too.

Carlos says:

I have a pm from Evie jining the bid with 120$

Hils says:

excellent

Lonni says:

Oh excellent!

Carlos says:

I have a plan

Lonni says:

If Ross realizes we're not bidding against the members I think he will join us too.

Carlos says:

please hear me out

Lonni says:

Carlos says:

then I will answer questions

Carlos says:

it is the following

Carlos says:

that we join forces, them with 6.5k and us with 6.5k

Carlos says:

only one bider by stages

Carlos says:

the moment we get to 13.000$

Carlos says:

if it is not ours we pull out, if they continue bidding it is on their own

Hils says:

I think its going to fetch more than that personally

Hils says:

I suspect their limit is higer too

judy says:

and we have to do it 4 hrs before closing not the last min like i originally thought

Carlos says:

as I think for psychological reasons re: make the members more secure and less anxious they should get the the last word as we have been assured that no chances in staff

ross has been added to the conversation.

Hils says:

Hi ross

judy says:

me too carlos

Lonni says:

Hi Ross.

judy says:

hi ross

Carlos says:

if they take the DJG'ers out they do not have more than 10.000$

Carlos says:

Hi ross

Hils says:

If we join with them they will feell much happier and so will I to be honest

ross says:

Hi everyone

judy says:

do you have dyebat's people list yet?

Lonni says:

And we will have a lot more to play with.

Carlos says:

me? no

Hils says:

I got the impression they ahve quite a lot carlos

judy says:

we talked last night, hils

Carlos says:

after our talk during the night

Carlos says:

my guess was confirmed

Carlos says:

10.000$

Hils says:

Chris was not telling but she said minue s DJG'ers it ws still a big amount

judy says:

right

Hils says:

She spoke to you last night?

Carlos says:

yes

judy says:

djgers have loaded them up

Hils says:

Ok fair enuf

Carlos says:

with me judy and Dani

judy says:

and christine

Lonni says:

DJGers have loaded them up, but they won't pony up.

judy says:

right

judy says:

they know that now

Hils says:

ross we are talking about going in with a bid with the members

Carlos says:

so the plan is together up to 13.000$

judy says:

we will bid separately

Carlos says:

if it goes higher the forum is not worth more than that

judy says:

but to make it look like there are more bidders

ross says:

I lkie that

Hils says:

Are you in?

Lonni says:

Thought you might, Ross!

Carlos says:

I knew you would like it ross

ross says:

I'm in

Hils says:

judy says:

and if not we have a new home with same software, similar name, susan and all of us

Lonni says:

Evie is with us too.

judy says:

CB is with us also

Hils says:

? explain Judy

Carlos says:

Ain't I called a business guru LOL

judy says:

where ever we go

Lonni says:

I will do whatever we all do, of course.

Carlos says:

judy says:

you is, carlos

judy says:

Hils says:

whats this about a new home?

Carlos says:

wowwwwwww

Carlos says:

judy says:

he won't be on for a while - i suspect health but he didn't say

Lonni says:

Who?

Carlos says:

Bill

Hils says:

Bill?

Lonni says:

I love Bill.

Hils says:

Me too

judy says:

i asked him if he would work on designing us a new banner

Hils says:

lovely man

judy says:

for which ever place we go

Carlos says:

do you want a recap of the plan?

Lonni says:

Yes, for Ross.

ross says:

yes please

Hils says:

nd me cos I have lost track

Carlos says:

when we meet with MJ and Chris

Hils says:

judy says:

i'll brb

Carlos says:

I will propose to join forces

Carlos says:

they will put 6.5k

Hils says:

that will give us a reserve

Carlos says:

and we will put 6.5k

Carlos says:

right babe

Carlos says:

we will do the biding by stages

Carlos says:

in a coordinated way

ross says:

why stages

Hils says:

keep the price down

Carlos says:

to see if there is a third party ross and keep the price down

ross says:

does that keep trhe price down

Carlos says:

it is let's call it a strategic move

Carlos says:

will it keep it down?

Carlos says:

who knows

Carlos says:

LOL

Hils says:

we shall soon find out

judy says:

walkd has bid twice but don't think he is a serious threat

Carlos says:

I thin that the last step getting to the 13.000

Hils says:

I am surfe he is aprekelife

Carlos says:

should be done by then for the reasons I explained

judy says:

well, he was banned lasst night again

ross says:

the only serious biding is at last minute

Carlos says:

the member will feel more secure

Carlos says:

not then but them

judy says:

not with this auction, ross

Hils says:

how do you know the names of the otehr bidders - if youa re registered cna you see who theya re?

Carlos says:

judy says:

Carlos says:

yo only see bidder 1

Carlos says:

bidder2 etc

judy says:

you can go to his profile since he commented and see he has 2 bids

Hils says:

Oh so how we do we know its him?

Hils says:

Oh I see

judy says:

his email is david walker

Carlos says:

because Paul deleted some of his comments

judy says:

on our site

Carlos says:

as well as knudt comment

Hils says:

freya?

ross says:

who is he?

Carlos says:

a troll

Hils says:

Parkelife - a known troll

Hils says:

a fake preist and fake butler

Lonni says:

Fake bigshot

Hils says:

on OS he has conviced af ew he is a knight of the realm

Carlos says:

what do you think ?

Hils says:

I think its a good plan Carlos

Hils says:

I feel happier

Carlos says:

and I'm the king of Anatolya

judy says:

i like the plan but we have to bid 4 hrs in advance or it goes anotehr 4 hours

Hils says:

Your Majesty I bow down

Lonni says:

I'm scared to death!

Carlos says:

Hilsita if you are happy my sleepless night was worthwhile

Hils winks:

Play "Kiss"

judy says:

don't be, lonni, if we don't win we will have another home that will look the same

judy says:

very close and better

Hils says:

I liek the idea of lchris sorting out all of the ads and getting the forum sorted

Carlos says:

now if we lose we will have a brand new state of the art forum

Carlos says:

for less than 600$

Hils says:

I was a bit miffed when I saw Pauls response to your post about premium payments

judy says:

nic emailed dani and i this morning asking for info and link to auction

Carlos says:

Susan will buy it

Carlos says:

LOL

Hils says:

interesting

Hils says:

Nic might buy it

Carlos says:

I don't think so let's not be carried away

Hils says:

Indeed

Lonni says:

I have to say this. My greatest concern all along has been for Susan and how the sale of her largest and most famous fansite will look to outsiders. I don't want it to seem that her fans are losing interest - we know that's not true, but the media could play it that way. She is my greatest concern.

Carlos says:

Ross you still in?

judy says:

no, dont think she will buy but they are interested

Christine says:

Hiya

Lonni says:

Hey Chris.

ross says:

nothing changed so i'm still in

Hils says:

well they want to know whats going on - they ahve an interst in the outcome

Carlos says:

Chrissy baby

Hils says:

Christine says:

Carlos my hunk! (see you have competition, Hils!) ;P

Hils says:

sniff

Carlos says:

jajajajajaja

Carlos says:

now Mary Jo wnats my pic before I become again admin

Carlos says:

my reputation preceeds me

Carlos says:

and last but not least

Carlos says:

the forum is not worth more than the assets it has

Carlos says:

I consulted with the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce her in Chile

Carlos says:

and he told me that to pay more than that would be totally foolish

Christine says:

Agreed

ross says:

If no ads as I understand the plan the site is worth a lot less business wise

Carlos says:

we will keep the ads

Carlos says:

but we will choose them once we have the site

ross says:

I need an update on what is planned

Carlos says:

we need Amazon to publisize Susan

Christine says:

The ads can be a lot more targeted to the demographic. That's lChris' expertise too.

Carlos says:

amazon is a must, remember I was against but my chairman siaid we should go for it

Carlos says:

it is the showcase for selling susan CD's

Carlos says:

and we should be the first to use it

Lonni says:

Indeed - I like that.

Carlos says:

it brings a benefit ok, then the retun on investment will be covered in time

Hils says:

and play.com

Carlos says:

of course

Carlos says:

proportinally our pledges will be reduced by half

Carlos says:

and on the understanding that mine is a donation, I don't want to be paid, or reimbursed

Carlos says:

because it is against the rules of my company

Carlos says:

as I cannot be in charge financially of the project

Hils says:

I'll have yours then

Carlos says:

jajajajajajaja

Carlos says:

it will be used for upgrades

Carlos says:

are all clear?

Carlos says:

any questions?

Christine says:

No questions atm.
