This is a portrait I did for my father's birthday. His mother passed away when he was only 17 and I found an old black and white photo to create this. It was very emotional and spiritual creating this..... and yes, he cried when he received it. What a blessed moment. Thankfully, he was thrilled with the painting. The lettering on the barrel was challenging, but I believe really added to the character of the barrel. <br />

Just finished the book cover for the children's book I am writing and illustrating. I had done this in watercolor to begin with, but decided that pastels would give me a softer and more artistic feel to the illustrations. I'm so glad I did this in pastel. I like it so much better than the watercolor!<br />

I haven't been able to paint in a while..... and for my birthday all I wanted was some painting time. I finished this over the weekend. Felt SOOOOO good to be back at the easel!! <br />
I love Florida marshes and I thought this wide format would be appropriate to capture the scene. I had the most amazing week painting this. I can't even begin to describe the prayer, tears and joy I experienced painting this during the Passion week when Christ would give His life for us!!!<br />
