O trio carrega em sua bagagem a reputação de shows extremamente altos e introvertidos guiados através da sonoridade da banda que exala referências insanas de noise-pop e melodias urgentes ao longo deste debut auto intitulado, lançado em 2007 através da gravadora Quartermain Records. Desde a época do Whiskeytown que fico sempre atento a seus lançamentos. Para mim ele é definitivamente, ou foi, a reencarnação (isto é o mais católico que posso chegar) de Gram Parsons, outro cara que admiro muito. Sua música sempre foi uma combinação de suas raizes(Jacksonville) “sertanejas” leia-se country/bluegrass/Nashville sounds + whisly + drogas + coração partido + rock e claro, boas companhias. Já gravou um dueto com Emilou Harris fazendo um cover do Parsons enfim, é um grande cara.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Agora careta(sóbrio) completamente lançou o aguardadissimo (pelo menos ali em casa) Ashes &amp; Fire um disco que jornalisticamente diríamos volta as raízes (sim, eu utilizei um emulador de resenhas) e quebra sua parceria com o Cardinals, banda com a qual vinha gravando seus últimos trabalhos. Dizer que é um álbum excelente seria um exagero mas, ele tem momentos incríveis. A gravação, produção do disco é de um rigor extremo e ficou a cargo de Glyn Johns. Os microfones captaram tudo de forma belíssima e a voz de Adams está melhor do que nunca e tudo foi feito com o maior primor possível. Muita coisa denota para um disco acústico com pianos, violões, violinos tudo em quase primeiro plano, perdendo apenas para as vozes.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">O disco abre com Dirty Rain que caberia perfeitamente em um disco do Whiskeytown e claro que já falei mas, repetirei, a voz dele está muito boa. Nunca saberemos se é a falta das drogas, da bebida e tudo mais, eu nunca acho que isto vem para o bem em um artista mas, ele está muito bem, seja lá qual for a técnica/fuga que utilizou. Ashes and Fire, que dá nome ao disco é definitivamente a melhor. Não sei se existe mas é uma valsinha country, música pra tocar numa festa de debutantes em Nashville e coloca Ryan mais uma vez no patamar dos grandes compositores e músicos da cena sulista e country norte-americana. Come Home é uma baladinha, outra que caberia muito bem no Whiskeytown e parece aquelas músicas de fim de filme, chamando alguém de volta para casa. É um convite a alegria e o fim de um exílio mesmo que seja apenas dentro de si mesmo e isto diz muito já que recentemente citou em entrevistas que por muitos anos virou um personagem em sua própria vida. Atuou como fantasma e muito disso pode ser resultado de uma vida ou temporada de excessos. Em sua vida sempre passou por altos e baixos, ora extremamente feliz e hora em completa depressão, corações partidos e uma briga até com a música e com o público. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Recentemente ameaçou largar completamente a música devido a problemas sérios de saúde, ainda bem que desistiu desta burrice. Alie a isto o fato de sua avó (que o criou) ter morrido durante a elaboração do disco e pouco antes ter ligado para Adams pedindo (Come Home) que ele voltasse para casa para que ela o visse, antes de morrer.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">A cantora e pianista Norag Jones tocou piano no disco e participou da criação de 3 faixas, Come Home, Save me e Kindness. Além dela, o guitarrista dos Cardinals e sua esposa Mandy Moore participaram, ele como guitarrista e ela fazendo os vocais de apoio.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Para resumir um pouco, é um grande álbum. A faixa de abertura tem guitarras tenazes e um andamento esperto, isso tudo com um vocal certíssimo sobre esse cara que acha o mundo estranho. A instrumental Grissitar é a pausa antes da melancólica Impossible Dreams, que lembra, em suas passagens mais pesadas, noventeiras como Pist*On e canções soturnas do Anathema.<br /><br />Mas o fechamento do disco foi que me cativou. Naqueles dias eu ouvia muito post rock, e esses caras me chamaram a atenção.<br /><br />Então, eu não sabia que o Lucas também tocava na Herod Layne, outra banda muito bacana que tive a oportunidade de ver em Porto Alegre no Sinewave Festival, bem no meio do carnaval deste ano. Foi lá que conheci esse cara, que estava aparentemente tenso antes do show, mas isso acontece com todos nós...<br /><br />O Al foi quem me colocou a par da multifuncionalidade do Lucas, e quando contei para ele que curtia muito essa banda me pediu que resenhasse este disco, "beleza", pensei, e está sendo muito bom fazê-lo. Deus Ex Machina possui uma infinita série de referências ao estilo mais reflexivo do rock alternativo. Ali, de cara, encontrei um pouco da minha banda favorita desta área, Yndi Halda, porém com aquelas saídas cheias de diminutas, herança metálica, que se vê nas progressões que a banda toma como direção, lembrando muito sons como Parhelia e canções mais pesadas do Mogwai. Claro que a banda não é um acúmulo de referências, ela tem seu lado único, motivo que sempre me levou a curti-la. Seus arranjos em violões com alternâncias entre 3/4 e 4/4 são de bom gosto elevado, onde se vê a coragem de brincar com valsa, música romântica e diminutos 'diabolos in musica', tudo isto cercado de muralhas emocionais erguidas com guitarras muito pesadas, bateria inspirada e baixo marcante. "Veils" surge após quase três anos do debut lançado pelo quarteto: "Out Of Phase" e acerta em cheio na viagem total proposta pela obra como um todo. "Transe Só" é o fechamento de um ciclo envolvendo o lançamento do primeiro disco cheio deste trio de Mogi Das Cruzes/SP formado por Danilo Sevali, Gabriel Mattos e Diogo Menichelli no ano de 2005 e que em 2009 deu início a esta trilogia maravilhosa antecedida pelos EPs "<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?yzegz4oymmy">Adubado</a>", de 2009 e "<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?dlzmz0nzzoz">Crise De Creize</a>", também de 2009. O caldeirão de semelhanças ficam a encargo de Pavement, Arnaldo Baptista, Yo La Tengo, Fugazi e tantos outros nomes maravilhosos que com sua parcela de influência acentuam a sonoridade do trio que passeia lisergicamente pelo alt/rock noventista com doses irreversíveis de psicodelia e uma pequena parcela de tropicalismo, e tudo isso orquestrado em meio a vocais esganiçados, instrumentais ácidos e pungentes e letras com um lirismo embriagado desconcertantes. Em uma época onde uma grande parcela das bandas fazem o impossível para seguir as tendências e alcançar seu lugar ao sol e os holofotes que acercam os meios radiofônicos e virtuais a Hierofante Púrpura deixa de lado esta pretensão, digamos que efêmera para dar vazão as suas ideias primais e exercer com total&nbsp;veemência e ardor este verdadeiro liquidificador sonoro por onde são extraídas suas canções colocando-os ao topo das bandas mais expressivas e honestas artisticamente em território brasileiro. Esse é meu primeiro post como colaborador do blog, e eu sou o vulgarmente conhecido como nando, e já que eu não sou um cara muito exagerado vou começar com um post bem pequeno, de um ep muito cru, lançado em 91 pela minha banda favorita, o Pavement. <br /> <br />Perfect Sound Forever foi o último de uma sequência de ep's lançados pela banda antes da estréia fenomenal do Slanted &amp; Enchanted, e é um disco um pouco diferente, principalmente pelo peso das guitarras e melodias muito mais cruas. Em "Areia", segundo disco deste trio carioca formado por Cadú Tenório, Ricardo Gameiro e Emygdio Costa o experimentalismo explícito é centralizado e tecido juntamente a camadas de influências vinculadas ao industrial, ao dark ambient, a no-wave, ao drone e ao noise, tornando o sucessor de seu trabalho de estréia "Decompor" uma obra um tanto quanto assombrosa &nbsp;e enigmática para alguns ouvidos menos preparados, um tanto perturbador podemos também por assim dizer. Não trata-se apenas de experimentalismo ou barulho acumulado e exercido de qualquer maneira mas sim de uma verdadeira obra onde ruídos são orquestrados em meio a um verdadeiro caos, um caos lento de total entorpecimento que age &nbsp;diretamente sobre o cérebro em uma torrente mágica de ambientações fantasmagóricas e claustrofóbicas, enfim algo que jamais banda alguma em território nacional fosse capaz de me propor com tamanha&nbsp;desenvoltura&nbsp;e facilidade. "Língua Negra", "Barca", "Foz" e "Garça" são uma fusão meticulosa e&nbsp;minuciosa da paixão detalhista de cada integrante transbordantes da superfície ao âmago de cada canção e que possivelmente poderiam ser assimiladas como uma soundscape tanto para obras surrealistas de Renè Magritte quanto as paisagens turbulentas de Goya.
