It's time to bid adieu to our dearest ~~so not~~ land-Taiwan

Let's have a lokk what we did during the few last hours here!

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF TAIWAN

Well, being a university students grads ourselves, it's a norm that we are curious of others' uni, right? So, we went to explore. Like God knew our intention, coincidently, that day was their Convocation Day. Hence, many students and pre-convo experience for us, who, at that time, had yet to have our convo =)

We did some photoshooting while touring other people's uni :

Visit Taiwan 2011 (Part V) Free & Easy

Our guided trip lasted yesterday, I mean last part so we had 2 days free & easy to explore Taiwan on our own! I think Taiwan is one of those countries where guided tour is not needed because their public transport is just so convenient, especially their mtr. Almost every tourist spots can be reached via mtr. Worth mentioning is that they also have this Tourist One-day Travel Pass where you have unlmited rides for mtr as well as light buses. We found this pass came very handy and affordable! So, equipped with Taiwan map and this pass we explored Taipei on our own! Notwithstanding that bringing someone who knows how to read and write Chinese is of course better, like us in our case!

TAIWAN FLORAL EXPO 2011

Though it ended by the time we were there, we could still see the trace this expo left behind. Some flowers were still very nice to take pictures with.

RANDOM ATTRACTIONS the reason is well, I kinda forgot the names already but I still hope you enjoy the pics we took.

Oh, yeloow cab in Taiwan! I just love taking pics of the cabs. They remind me of being a tourist myself.

We randomly hopped on a light bus without knowing where to go. So, we just did some sight-seeing in the bus. All of us fell asleep whilst en route to Taipei.

I think we didn't manag to take any shots because we were so busy going through nice clothes.
But still, I will want to go there again for my next visit. This time around, I will dare myself up to ask for price and bargain *determined.

Ngiik Ling got sick while we were in Wufenpu so she went back because we all were so reluctant to go that time due to ehem..~~overflooding clothes~~ hahaha...nola..actually, she was the one who walked too fast that we couldn't keep up with her track that we eventually lost her.

SOGO Taiwan we didn't take any pictures also because KL also got Sogo. Clara bought her ADIDAS sport shoes and worth mentioning that the salesman there was very good-looking.

We had nowhere else to go so we ended up in Shihlin Night Market again and this time around we used up all our money because we were going back the next day so no point keeping the currency, right???????

Had dinner at a Taiwanese restaurant who mixed up our orders haihhhh must be the language barrier.

Ok lo the food, can eat at KL also since KL got so many Taiwanese cuisine hahaha

Day 5 TAICHUNG & TAIPEI

YEHLIU GEOPARK where we soaked in heavy rain and nearly blown off.

The weather here sucks but the pictures outcome are superb!

Though the weather was not good but this was by far my 2nd most favourite itinerary for the whole Taiwan trip.

This place, I will sure to come back if I am to visit Taiwan again!

why?
1. Food as far as the confusing pathway could lead you, that's much food you could get along the way!I mean like variuos types of food. Some may look disgusting but once you taste it, you are hooked!

Nope, we didn't dare to try these though~

Though originated here but in my sole opinion, I think Snowfalkes' at Pavilion tastes much better!

Favourite snack! Grilled mushroom!

The infamous Stinky Tofu! Again, I think Malaysia's taste much much better! Even better than Hong Kong's.

2. Ambient as it is situated on the top of a mountain. The weather was so chill and comfortable and a tinge of nostalgic feelings. Everything was so old and vintage yet attractive and unique.

One could easily get lost here according to our tour guide so in order to avoid of facing that possibility, we could only walk straight till the end of the street then walk back the same path back to where we started. Actually, there were lots of alleys which led to somewhere but we dare not take the chances!

Okay, after travelling around the island ~~spending almost every hour in our double decker tour bus.~~ we are finally here!

Day 4 en route Kaoshiung

I wasn't supposed to touch those with bare hands but what I wanna say is they're so sweet! I have never tasted such extreme sweetness coming from mangoes before.

FO GUANG SHAN aka Buddha enlightment

It was very tired walking up the hill. This reminded me of the Journey to the West, where they faced difficulties in order to achieve enlightment for the world.

Almost there! See, there were so many Buddha statues.

I also tried to meditate in order to reach my enlightment but alas, it failed. I'm back to the real world.

Yays! We reached the top of the hill! The temple was even bigger and much grand!

This mall was the setting of the many famous Taiwanese dramas! Wee!

Though we didn't meet any celebrities there but we met Doraemon!

And oh, I nearly forgot. This huge ferris wheel was one of the main attractions in this mall! Too bad we didn't board it due to money constraint and weather =(

Day 5 NANTOU & TAICHUNG
Tea!

This apek (he really called himself apek) has been running the tea business for his whole life so he had so much to share! Hahaha...he's quite funny because he liked to hit the table evrytime he found us (the 4 of us) not listening ~~concentrating~~ in his speech ~~sharing~~. But, he was very kind as he treated us free flow of good quality tea (heck! I don't even know how to differentiate between good and low quality tea). And he had a heir to his empire-his son. Contrary to him, his son was quite pretentious (this word is too harsh) because he just tried too much in his way of advertising and selling their teas. But still, thanks for the treat ya!

Honestly, for me, this was the most bored itinerary for the whole trip

But this floor decor looked nice!

A unique RESTAURANT in Taichung

They had this enormous welcoming figures made from wood/tree-like to welcome you to their restaurant.

I had no idea why did we pose as such? Looked like "sawadikkap"

Somewhat felt like flinstone era =D

But the food was so-so only. Not extremely nice. I guess people came here for their interior design and not their delicacies.

Visit Taiwan Part II

The famous Youth Spring !

Actually, there were 3 temples up the hills. This was situated at the lowest part of the hill =P

See, we gained youth by just looking at it hehehe...even the other tourist in our tour group thought that we were a bunch of SPM leavers on holidays lolz!

Jade Factory aka Greek-like Palace

Well, most expected itinerary for a Taiwan tour, that would be a jade shop. This one was not a shop but a factory, I guess since it's clearly too big for a shop. Since we were "kids" so obviously we wouldn't purchase any jades, hence we opted to stay outside and do photoshoot instead since the setting was so Greek style.

I like the pillars very much because it felt so medieval era (does this phrase make any sense at all?)

Animal Farm & Fresh Cow Milk

We kissed a cow and tadaaa.

Fiona got the milk! Frankly, I can drown myself with tonnes of cow's milk but then the cow will be so tired having all its milk squeezed out.


This was one of my favourite places in our itinerary because of the ambient. It's so green that it brought a peace and relaxing mind to me =) ~~I might as well R.I.P.~~

HOT SPRING!

Yahoo!!! The most anticipated venue of all! Hot spring! If you are to ask me which part do you enjoy the most in your Taiwan trip, this will definitely claim the 1st place! I like the hot spring very much to the point that I could stay in there for the whole night, it's not advisable. Even though our resort is not the best and most luxurious hot spring resort but this simple hot spring was enough to amaze us and most importantly, relaxed my whole body, after hours of long journey in the bus.

One aunty in our tour group even treated us this hot spring eggs. Tasted exactly the same as usual boiled egg but since it's boiled using the hot spring water then it somehow worked out some miracle.

weee~finally the long awaited *thick-skinned...tadaaaaaa.......
Forgive me, this trip happened sometime half year ago thus there might be some missed infos and incomplete details. Still, I shall blog with all my heart =P

TAIWAN

Day 1 TAOYUAN aka Taiwan airport..

Beef noodle. Thank God the food portion here were enough for us to share as we're on a really tight budget.

Taiwan's famous with its convenience store 7-ELEVEN. So, our first instinct was to patronize one! We excitedly took pictures before we being sternly warned by the workers there. No photograph?Seriously?

Not much pictures here as it's our first day and we reached here quite late. We just checked in our hotel after the driver dropped us before we later searched for food as we were famished to the max! Hahahaha... from my vague memory, Taoyuan was quite a quiet and small town so there was not much to explore except the convenience store and one beauty&cosmetics shop. The masks and beauty products especially were way cheaper than in Malaysia so we shopped like craze =DDD

Day 2 TAIPEI aka bullet train & Chiang Kai-shek Memorial

Taking bullet train to Taipei. It's not bullet actually,just another lrt in Taiwan. We still managed to snap a lot of pics before arrival boohoo!

Estatic...well, except NgiikLing!hahahaha...

Okay, I present to you Datin Fiona, lol..she earned such title due to her infamous Mulberry-inspired bag.

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial. Frankly, I have no idea at all of your highness' nobility. Please forgive my ignorance. But Fiona sure know well..as usual as her other title includes Fiona, the all-knowing =P

I vaguely remembered there was one army that Clara and I found so cute hahaha...we even chased them just to catch another glimpse of him *shy

Because so many people queued up just to take picture with him so we jumped in as well! Pardon, is that porbably President Chiang himself?

Our favourite time was Meal Time! Thanks to Mdm.Lu, we were well-fed from the first day! And I even brought home extra 4kilos with me =D

en route to HUALIEN aka A-Mei tribe & Bamboo rice

The Pacific Ocean! I still remember I screamed Tai Ping Yang (Pacific Ocean in Chinese) along the way to Hualien to the point that I think everyone in the bus wanted to kill me to shut me up! hahaha...I was more than excited seeing such a blue ocean! It's blue! Crystal clear and blue! O man, if I'm a rich lady I'm so gonna build a house facing this beautiful ocean. ~~Even if tsunami comes also I drown in beautiful ocean prettily~~ *wtf

A-Mei tribe danced for us *proud They were so hospitable towards tourists ~~to the point of dragging us down to dance with them~~ -.-"

As usual, Clara and I were turning on our hawk-eyes to spot for good looking guys. Ahaa...we found one and Clara shamelessly claimed to be her husband. She even threatened to kill NgiikLing as fate had its own way of making NgiikLing be his partner during the dance. Wakaka...love rival!

Bamboo rice! I loved them to the max that i ate 3/4 of them! You really understand the meaning of hard-earned rice when you eat this rice because you have to literally work HARD in order to eat it. You see the thick and hard bamboo? Well, you have to hit them on a huge rock to break it then only you can dig out the rice and eat them. Sound easy? Wait till you try it! We hit for almost half an hour before we can see any creaks on the bamboo.

Not sure what rice is that but it's one of the local dishes.

They cheated us by making us to believe this was the Taiwanese shashimi -.-" Well, you guess what it is!

Chicken chop. Too oily but nice decore!

Fried fish. I figured out that Taiwan fish had this weird texture-sandy.

I don't know what kind of veggie is this but we had this in almost every meal.

Taiwan's stand.

This was the best and grandeur hotel ever during our whole trip because the room was so big. Freaking two queen-sized bed in one room completed with mini kitchen and living room with big plasma TV. Unfortunately, we stayed there for one night only. Well, since we were with a tour group so we stayed at different hotel every night. Hahahaa...sounds like nomad no~

They even had piano downstairs so we can act like we were piano players like that~

Even had this very comfy sofas for us to pose as usual.

I love the meaning this song bears. It keeps me pondering quite some time. It's true that sometime we are too complacent with our comfort zone that we refuse to have any changes. But come to think of it, how are we going to improve if we stay in the same place all the time? How are we going to broaden our view and sights if we keep our eyes closed? And, coincidently, my friend in fb shared a link HERE. And fortunately, I've made my move! How about you?

Conclusively, he got famous through YOUTUBE. I'm sure this must remind you of someone with bowl hairstyle who flips hair all the time. But, NO! He is not just another JB. hahaha..see I'm so prejudiced like that.

we had had brunch with him and the rest this morning. Aside from scrumptious dim sum (I mus recommend Promenade's Dim Sum, damn nice!), we (Dom and I) had been lectured by him for one hour each. He discussed with us what attitude we should have and attributes we should bear when we step into the real working world. Each and every of his words inspired me deeply. Truth as it is. It's true that he does eat salt more than we eat rice (chinese idiom). As usual, he plays pur father's role all the time. I'm glad we had had this brunch today! I didn't really recall how the dim sum taste, instead, his words are still ringing in my head!

I'm the Mobile Credit Officer of this bank in KK Regional Office (am so glad I am finally back home). By twist and fate, I somehow end up here. I wouldn't guarantee this would be my last destination as I do not know what my future holds. I hope I can learn something as it is totally out of my field. What lies ahead seem so blurry right now and I hope I will have clearer view soon. God, please guide me. Will this be my job or career?

for those who have been following my fb or twitter will be well-know of the story behind this title!
I had had this feeling of love-hate with this land. I hated it because it distant me from my family members. I love (it's present tense means I still love it) it because it had so much to offer! Hence, the birth of Land of Shit & Opportunity. Initially, way before I started working with TM, I had set my target that I will at least stay here for 2 years. However, due to fate, my stint only lasted 3 months *shy

The Os that made me fell head over heels this land are:

JOB OPPORTUNITIES=MONEY $$$$

Even Fiona had been so confused whether she there was more than one Suzane that she knew as all the time, I had been working with TM, but at one time I would tell her that I was pormoting Fernleaf milk products and some other time I told her that I was teaching expatriates' kids at Enopi. Though I was all weary due to various part times, but I was having the time of my life as I was doing things that I love, which was making $$$ hahahaha....was I too money-oriented?

ENTERTAINMENT

I missed the previous world stage but this year thanks to Pik Yang and Ngiik Ling, we went and we saw on 24th July @ i-City, Shah Alam!!

BEAST!!!

we even went to camwhore with the lights @i-City and got souvenir from MY BEAUTY

p.s.: this was just one of the entertainment in this land! i.e. MOVIES, SHOPPING, GOURMET! ahhhh.... I miss you badly KL!

PARTNERS IN CRIME!

my roommates for 3 months Huan Ching and Ngiik Ling. I am so glad God placed HC with me because she shaped me into a person I am to You. And to Ngiik Ling, I guess my patience and consideration have improved greatly!

and to Fiona, whom I always went out with during weekends, who brought me to experience so much gourmet and shoppings! I miss our outings badly!

GREAT FOOD, GREAT BONDING

I seldom experience true family bonding with my own family members, probably due to my divorced parents and also my siblings who are scattered all around the places. Living with them for merely a month, made me realize the warmth and loveth of true family bonding through simple chattings with each other to update each others' lives and also once a week family gathering. Thank you Lord for this opportunity. I know You want me to learn something from this incidence.

fruit cake that I directly involved in making. Thanks to Aunty who left me with so many cooking experiences. We even baked mooncake and modern toast. Not forgetting all the great places that they brought me to eat!

we would consider ourselves to be the lucky ones because we were hired before our actual convocation day but like I always say, fate has its own way of working our lives around. Nonetheless, I would still like to thank this company for its precious experience and moments. It gave me a little view of what working life is and what underwriter actually does. Thanks to Aunty Mary too for recommending us!

Urban escape to Fiona's House

fyi, I didn't go back my hometown right after I finished my study, instead I and Ngiik Ling went to my aunt's (which is my sis in-law's parents) house to stay due to some unfinished business with UKM. After that, Ngiik Ling went back Sibu because she's such a ~~crybaby~~ home-lover, leaving me under my aunt's care. I always agree that God has His own plan for us, that there're reasons for everything occurs hence my post. Thank God that she finally regained her health, I now can retreat from her house to move to Fiona's place temporarily before our graduation trip to Taiwan! I stayed a week at her house and thanks for Aunty Mary's hospitality that I felt EXACTLY at home hahahaha... I even earned myself a new nickname-NOMAD SUZANE. I stayed for a week but I already spent all of my monthly allowance. Fiona's house was so strategically located at Cheras, whereby night markets flocked, not to mention nearby Leisure Mall. We will have our daily breakfast with Aunty Mary (thansk for the treat, Aunty! hehehehe) before she left us shopping around the morning market near her house. Clothes were pretty and cheap so was my wallet. As much as I enjoyed shopping with Miss Fiona, I must admit that living with her will really make me a broke person because we were into shopping too much! Nevertheless, I still love you, Fiona Tong +.+
She was such a sweet host that she made me gained weight way before my trip to Taiwan, as per pictures attached below =______=

while waiting for Clara and Ngiik Ling to join us, we continued to put on our body weight and shed some of our wallets' weight. How irony was that!

come to think of it, this is my only picture of me with my hard-produced thesis book =( there's much more than sweat and blood in producing this book! and I'm glad I make it, that we make it! I hope the others will make it as well!

Shoe Fair 2011

one of the things that make girls scream like craze are definitely shoes! My first time seeing tonnes of shoes being displayed as well as for sell. We went for 2 days consecutively and bought alot!

aside from shoes fashion runway we even took picture with the well-known Jimmy Choo. His real person is really down-to-earth and such a warm person. Hi Jimmy!

my second time here, though it was not as good and as exciting as first time. We even down with bloating and stomachache. Probably because we were too starving after getting lost for almost 5hours just to get there =.="

nevertheless, I still grabbed a handful of salmon!ahhhh...c'est la vie!

2AM hits Malaysia and Me as well

on April, 17th I and NgiikLing plus Gim Hui from Pharm were queuing for 2AM showcase tickets.
@ 1Utama Shopping Mall lasted for 4 hours.
Part of me was feeling estatic because they were coming and I was going to meet them so soon in real person instead of through monitor. Another part of me was happy because they have so many fanbase here in Malaysia!!!!!!!!! I even participated the Digi's games during the queue in hope that MAYBE I could win some VIP tickets, alas, there's no free lunch in this world. I managed to grabbed some Digi goodies and a few minutes fame *thick-skinned.

on May, 20th I, Gim Hui & Aun Ni went for their autograph session!

It was a great and blast because we were mistaken as VIP tickets holders! Blamed us for our blurness and also the crews' equal blurness! Thank God we were arranged to queue in the FRONT and so, almost-zero gap with 2AM *teary eyes
I HEART YOU, 2AM!!!!!!!!!!!!saranghae!(I hate myself that I couldn't bring myself to blurt out this phrase during autograph session haihhhhhhh...guess what I did say after all, "I love your voice!"). So, that was my few minutes on-stage with my biases! But they were damn polite and white, I tell you.And heck, we even stalked them after the session but to no avail *disappoint.

on May 21st, I, Fiona, Gim Hui and Aun Ni went for the actual showcase
@ Wisma MCA, Jln. Ampang.
It was unbelievable to able to listen to their live voice and to see them live! OMG, seriously their voices were so great that I almost cried. Be the reason because I finally able to listen to them singing live or because of the lyrics, either way I am so proud of them!!!!!!!!!

We even played twitter with them *like duhhh...

They were far but our hearts were close *goosebumps

So that was my unforgettable experience with my 2AM almost half year ago! The feeling of contentment is still there everytime I flip through my albums! I hope to see them perform here in Malaysia soon! Thank God for fulfilling my dream!

A Good Start with a Nice Template

well, at least for me it is..
it's been quite some (very long) time since I blogged. I resume because:
* envy that some of my blogger friends still maintain theirs despite busy schedule and work.
* my promise to my future lineage of their grand or great or great grand mother's journal *lmao
* heck, I miss you, my blog. I simply miss you being alive keeping track of my life.

so, I will just start off by changing my blog layout. Whether I realize or not, my taste nowadays heading towards simplicity, less vibrant colour, less complicated concept.Or, am I begininning to experience what most people say as stagnant life? a bland life? Is it because I am growing up (am I too old for this phrase?) now that I am working with adults? Well, for whatever reason it is, I hope I'm changing for good.

okay, now that I finally picked a presentable layout template, I'm in a headache of not knowing what to post and what to update. My dear blog, you have seriously off-tracked so much of my life. From where should I update you? I have so much to share and I hope my dementia-illness won't acting up again for goodness sake!
