Here are a few fun photos I have collected for what I call Tasteful Bold Color. I have seen some really ugly bold color schemes in rooms. Colors need to be simple combinations and not fight with each other. You don't want a room that screams at you. I think these ideas are tasteful. These are very bright but they are simple and in most cases it is one or two pieces that creates the drama.

Art Fair in Bend OR/floating the Deschutes river in Sunriver

Had a great time at the art fair at the Old Mill District in Bend OR this weekend. Lots of great artists and a really nice variety of art. It was pretty hot on Friday but we were able to take a break at patio restaurant and go back after we cooled off. Nice venue. Will do it again next year. Next day we went floating on the Deschutes in the Sunriver area and bit off more than we expected.

I have been doing new painting projects as I experiment & learn how to use the different mediums. I just tried mixed media collages on canvas. Probably not my best work. LOL but it was fun. These both have a lot of texture. I call this one "Ruins" Here is a close up of the piece. I have used the cut paper that is collaged on, first as the stencil for building up texture with molding paste.

Spent the weekend drawing in charcoal, pastell & graphite. First time to use them. Had fun with the black paper. First time for portrait type drawings. I got out my book of Curtis indian pictures as inspiration. They don't photograph very well. Practice makes perfect so I will continue to try this type of art for a while.
